Now what's next next stop? It'sthe next man off, next stop,
the next step, take the nextstep, next up, stop, next
next stop? This he wants tobe next. This is next up with
Tad Norfleeten Chris Gordy. Let's seewhat's next next next? Good morning line
(00:25):
from the Sports Talk seven ninety studios, nesting in between Uptown Park and River
Oaks here in the gallery area ofHouston, Texas favorite city in America.
Gordon standing north leat. It's meif you new to the station, new
to the show. To my left, my radio partner and I feel this
leader from a program directors standpoint. That's Chris Gordon rocking his SEC sweatshirt.
Today we will talk about his SECas they win the news over the weekend.
(00:47):
Rustin dirty ass Dawn Staley players, get on. I'm not doing his
slander for UVA alumni around here. Also wrapping the Southeastern Conference. That's Missouri
Tiger. That's my man Connady mcgovernoron the other side there sitting in his
production and program and chair thanks tothe Shawn Salisbury Show. Gordon, each
and every weekday morning, are youaware that you can get up from six
to ten am right here? OnSports Talks Even ninety with Shawn Salisbury,
(01:08):
Brian Lolima. Yeah, let melet you know, Sam, it was
hard get out of bed this morning. That sunrise this morning was seven thirty
five. Aar up at seven andwhat is it? Five am? What
time is it? A little time? Chase threw me off. Yeah,
let's make some adjustments here. Stillgot to go to work and work.
We will a lot of space tocover today. We will love on the
(01:30):
Houston Cougars. Congratulations to Kelvin Samsonmen's basketball program, Big twelve champions out
right after absolutely beating them. Jesusout of the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday in
the Fatida Center. We will talkbad as well, good news and bad
news out of the Houston Rockets organization. Gordon Rockets winners are four or five.
(01:51):
They take care of business or wasthat that was yesterday? No,
yeah, last night, Sacramento takecare of business. But then obviously there's
an injury to Alprin Shinghum, thebudgeting star all starting. We believe he
will become when he returns to health. We got to talk about that.
My brother Ben Dubo's is gonna dropby. He's a Rockets analyst for US
(02:12):
here at seven ninety. But todaytoday, in about fifty seven minutes,
we can officially begin talking about andof course there are a ton of leagues
and rumors NFL free agency twenty totwenty four, the legal tampering window,
and this is where we start today. Texans over the weekend, and I'm
working through some technology over here,so y'all been with me the Texas over
(02:35):
the weekend. Make some additions,Gordon, we were trading messages on DM
as a group, and I comeout of this and we'll get to the
details here in just a second. But essentially we know they signed Kymie Fairband
and before that Dalton Schultz, andthere were some other guys, some you
know, bottom of the roster guys. But over the weekend they get Khalil
(02:57):
Davis reserve defensive tackle, and theyalso who else they returned Stephen Nelson.
I'm sorry, not Stephen Nelson, forgive me. Das King comes back.
We'll talk about Dais since Yeah, huge difference. One's a starter, Neil
one is a pseudo starter. Butnonetheless des King returns. Des mc king
the second we know that he wasreleased last year at camp. Then they
went and got him from Pittsburgh duringthe year. But the one that catches
(03:21):
my attention, which is where westart today, Foley Vodakowski is a name
that not many Texans are going toknow. He has played in the AC
South for the last two years. He signed a three year, thirty million
dollar deal this time two years agoto go to the Jacksonville Jaguars. It
was a name that you brought upabout a week or so ago, and
(03:45):
that is a signing. The termsof the deal obviously not official yet as
the league year has not begun. But here's a man, gord it and
I think it tells me a lot. And I'm gonna connect some dominoes here.
Now his name is officially is I'mgona try to pronounce this Folo run
show. They just called him FoleyFoley Podokowski. He is twenty nine years
(04:10):
old, six round pick of theJets back in twenty eighteen. So initially,
Gordon I thought this was just oh, okay, Domiko's just adding some
depth. Then I saw the KhalidDavid signing after that, and I went,
oh, not knowing the money forFoley, I went and looked at
how has he been playing Gordon. They actually he played for Matt Burt for
(04:31):
the Jets in twenty twenty one, interior defensive lineman. Fifteen games started in
twenty one, thirteen or fourteen gamesstarted for Jacksonville in twenty two started sixteen
of the sixteen games he played infor Jacksonville this past year, Gordon,
I might be out of my mind, but when I saw him at a
(04:53):
K number over the weekend, hewill be remaining in Baltimore. We see
the Chris Jones contract come out overthe weekend. I think this is perhaps
this is just me taking a stabat this thing. I think this is
Demko saying this is the guy Foleyis going to start. NIXT to Malie
Collins, Khalil Davis and Kurt Heinichwill add depth, and they're going to
go spend some money, perhaps onthat other defensive end spot they could.
(05:16):
I still think they need you stillneed more bodies in there. This is
a piece. He could certainly bepart of a rotation, but I think,
you know, and Aaron put itout there too, you know,
yes, they are interested in ChristianWilkins, and obviously he's the headliner.
But he still tweeted out a fewminutes ago. He should Sheldon Rankins still
(05:39):
represents strong value as a disruptive insidepass rusher. That's the thing with Sheldon
Sheldon at six sacks last year.Potokowski is more of your run stuffer.
Correct, But that's where I lookat. You still need kind of a
rotation there of guys, but Ithink you have it. You're only carrying
four interior defensive lineman on your fiftythree had If Podokowski is gonna make this
(06:01):
team, and I think he will, He's twenty nine years old and clearly
he's playing and damn near every game. So Photokowski is gonna be one.
We know Malie Collins is the other. They love Kurt Heinez and then they
just resigned Khalil Davis, who hadreally good spots thought not spot scars spot
reps for them last year. Letme go back and look. So yeah,
so last year when the season started, there they kept four Sheldon Rakins,
(06:25):
Ellie Collins with your starters, KhalilDavis, Kurt Heness your your two
backups. I think you're onto somethingthere. I'm going ahead this football thing.
I do this. I still thinkthough, if you because they only
signed this guy a one year deal, I think, and you're gonna need
camp bodies and all that. Istill think if you can get rankings that
at the right money, I stillthink you bring him back. Now it
(06:46):
maybe maybe Fodokowski doesn't make the roster, you know what I mean. Maybe
he's a he's a camp county.I can't tell you. You could be
onto something there that it is nota guarantee. I'm just sorry. A
dude that starts for three years inthis league for the costs. See,
let me try to get the nameright. Yeah, for yeah, a
dude that started that much in hisleague at that age. You aren't bringing
(07:06):
him in here if you don't think. And maybe he is a rotational guy.
I just I'm combining what I've seen, cause Sarrio and Dumico do over
the weekend with the contracts we sawfrom Metabeek and Chris Johnson. The moment
Metabik got that number, and I'mtrying to pull up the contract now.
The moment Medabk got that number fromBaltimore, Christian Wilkins was a static.
(07:27):
He knows he's gonna get more thanMetabik, And I don't know that Caserio
and Demico are willing to give ChristianWilkins. So I think the Wilkins thing
is a wrap in my mind.Don't want to spoil it for you.
I just don't think that's happening.Four years ninety eight million four so he's
averaging just shot twenty million a year. Yeah cool. I love your idea,
though, Sheldon ring for twenty justwhich is like you said, four
(07:47):
years what four years ninety eight that'syeah, I know, sorry, I
got one hundred in my head.Go ahead, Yeah, it is interesting.
I mean, look, they couldjust because Khalil Davison, Kurt Heinis,
we're on the active roster last year. Again, one of those guys
could be a casual teater. Youknow. They could say, you know,
photocosis an upgrade and then we bringback Sheldon Rankins or hey even they
(08:13):
may go bigger, go home andsay let's go pay the big bucks for
Christian Wilkins. But I just itjust doesn't seem like that would be in
the remo right now. Yeah,I'm going to the defensive tackle market.
I'm just looking at some averages here, and so really the conversation is as
we start the free agency Monday, conversation is got Rankins make ten and a
half million last year one year deal? Yeah? A lot, So you
(08:37):
have to ask yourself. Chris Jonesis at the top of the market,
just under thirty two million a yearrecord for a defensive tackle. Medabik is
at twenty four and a half.Quinn Williams is at twenty four million,
Jefferys Simmons All Pro twenty three pointfive, Deron paying twenty two five.
Christian Wilkins is gonna be He's gonnabe up in that metabek. Christian Wilkins
is gonna come in twenty five milliona year. Would I pay it?
(09:00):
Do? I love the player, yep? But if you're telling me the
difference between Sheldon Rankins and Christian Wilkinsis fifteen million dollars twelve million dollars a
year, then I'm gonna re signSheldon Rankins. I just don't know what
they're thinking. I'm just trying toput together the question that we pose.
Would you guys be disappointed if wetalked about with the wide receiver market Mike
(09:24):
Evans and well, one of thoseconversations we got to have again because like
T Higgins won't sut of Cincinnati, even though he's been franchised tagged. But
when Mike Keevs went back to Tempa, we said, well that went the
Tier one wide receiver situation. Now, with this Metabecan Chris Jones staying with
their respective teams, Gordy Christian Wilkinsbecome the number one defensive tackle interior position
(09:46):
player. Are you comfortable if theTexans don't sign him, if they elect
that it's too rich for their bloodand they're gonna roll with other bargains.
Yeah, because he's the now thatthose two guys are off the market,
the number one defensive tackle available.I'm not again, I'm not willing to
pay headliner money for him, youknow at that right because you know he
(10:09):
had nine sacks last year from theinterior spot. Sheldon ranks at six and
Sheldon Rankins just made ten a halfmillion last year. I wonder, you
know, could you get Sheldon Rankinsback on another one year deal for twelve
million? You know, pay hima little bit more because of the production
he may be. He may say, hell now I'm looking for at least
a two year deal. And grantedhe's up there now, I mean once
(10:31):
Christian Wilkins is off the market.Sheldon Rankins will be one of the top
defensive tackles. You know, Ithink people are going after. And then
we didn't even mention Eric Armstead.I was get rid of good there right
now. So Eric Armstead played obviouslyfor Demico Ryans in San Francisco. Eric
Armstead played as college ball or again, think of what it was, the
seventeenth overall pick something like that hiredan ad I'm sorry, I think he
(10:52):
was a seventh jumps AnyWho first roundat bottom line is he wants out of
San Francisco. Here's where I'm goingto jump the gun a little bit.
Here's what I think could end uphappening. I look at Eric Armstead.
He's a versatile piece. He's aguy that can play on the interior and
(11:15):
he can play on the outside. He's a large man, six seven what
some two hundred and eighty something poundsI believe probably more than playing in the
two seventies. They listening to that, all right, big man? Is
this a guy that Domiko could lookat and go, you know, we've
been talking about should they lose JonathanGrenard. Somebody on the other edge is
(11:35):
this Dimico saying, here's my JoeyBosa body, my run stout left side
defensive end to go opposite of WillAnderson Jr. And Eric Armstead can kick
down on the inside and maybe spotstart for me at tackle depending on the
opponent. I just appreciate the versatilitythat y say. I always thought he
(11:56):
was a DT, but I'm lookingat kick as an N and yeah,
I guess they kind of used themin both in both spots in San Francisco.
So I mean, look, nobody'sgoing to know him better than Damiko
from his time there. I don'tknow's It's an interesting one for the simple
fact that, as Aaron Wilson reported, he's recovering from surgery to a pair
(12:18):
of torn meniscus and played their kneeand foot injuries and was limited to twenty
one games combined over the past twoseasons. But him opting out of his
restructure deal with the forty nine erstells me he thinks, you know it
was it was going to be apay cut, yes, but he was
due seventeen point four million. Hewouldn't get to get that. Is there
somebody out there willing to overpay forhim? So you know how I feel
(12:39):
about you in that overpay word, but I understand that that's overpay from what
the market is dictating. It's myword, it is what I'm thinking.
I'm not saying overpay when you signa guy, oh, he's not worth
it. I'm saying, what isthe market dictating a player like that should
be paid? Coming off of tornmeniscus, Domino's have already begun to Over
(13:00):
the weekend, Texans make two signingsat the defensive interior position. Khalil Davis
returns and they go get Foley Fodokowskifrom the Jacksonville Jaguars. As we just
mentioned, Eric Armstead wont side ofSan Francisco. He's been on the West
Coast his entire life. Brother grewup in Cali, played his college ball
in Oregon. Can Demiko convinced himto come halfway, halfway across the country
(13:26):
and play for him here in Houston. We continue talking about the Dominoes and
free agency that we know thus farthe offensive position that I'm starting to move
off of that the Houston Texans shouldbe in the market for. Appreciate you
hanging out with us here on theMonday getting started free agency, taking you
up until noon on a Monday,Sports Talk seven ninety stand Northfleet is just
(13:50):
a five Chris Cordy the next upmentality on your radio. Every battle that
you go through prepares you for thenext one. Welcome back to next up
on Sports Talk seven ninety. Thefront again is everything for me, and
we'll invest a ton of resources intothe front. If you want to play
(14:11):
good defense or your front has tobe elite. And that's why I envisioned
us playing elite defensive football. Andwe have to get better there and you
get better you after them invest theresources there upfront. So that's what we'll
do. That's where we're our focusis heading into the off season, is
to make sure our front gives usan opportunity to win some games. Welcome
(14:35):
back in the next up here ona Monday, stay in Fleet, Gordon.
That was the voice Demko Ryans. This was the end of season presser
where where he was asked about twentyfour and how they're going to reassemble this
team. And you heard the headcoach. You've heard that sound before if
you listen to us here it nextup resource. You see, I'm going
to invest a ton of resources.Okay, what does that mean exactly?
(14:58):
Is it? Are you gonna targeta singular dude, Christian Wilkins, or
are you gonna spread the money arounda little bit for you Shell and the
rankers to come back for the Coskia little bit for you on a one
year deal coming over from Jacksonville,Eric Armsteag, you come get a little
bit of that too. So isit gonna be spreaded across multiple guys or
(15:18):
are you saying, yeah, I'mgonna make a couple free agent resignings,
but I'm also gonna go in thedraft. Are we back to talking about
Johnny Newton, the interior defensive linemanfrom Illinois with the twenty third overall pick
or with the first round pick? For now, don't know what that means.
We'll find out. Hadn't heard Demikotalk like that, but based on
the t Lee's. As we continuefrom the opening segment, the Texans make
(15:43):
some signings over the weekend. Twoof those signings were at the defensive tackle
position on one year deals. Theybring back Khalil Davis and then they sign
Foley Podokoski, bringing him over fromJacksonville. They also signed Daz mc kan
the second he signed him and whoam I missing somebody else? In the
second ear Eric Murray. Eric Murrayat safety, he was the backup until
(16:06):
he got hurt. And then ChrisChris Chris Boyd with a k uh,
He's just he's a body. Ithink they yeah, they just need bodies.
I think that's somebody was saying, like why are they bringing back Eric
Murray? Wasn't wasn't very good specialteams guy. I think, yeah,
you just need depth. You needbodies, But bodies in depth that's a
different thing. Bodies mean you shouldn'tbe on the NFL field. Eric Murray
(16:29):
can actually be out there playing realreps. I'm comfortable with Eric murray'spot start.
He's fine if I can find anup. You know, if somebody
drafted the fourth or fifth round EricMurray, see you later. So but
a fourth or fifth round is notbeating out Eric Murray. We'll see.
No. Eric Murray sucks. EricMurray's better than somebody you're getting in the
fourth round out of damn Eric Murray. Everybody here was like, Okay,
(16:52):
why why are we signing this guy? And then not once did we see
like throughout his Texans career, dowe go Thank god we have Eric Murry.
Sorry I didn't say he was.I said he doesn't like he's an
NFL player. Anyway, we're gettingcalled the wis all right? Wait real
quick, go ahead, full ofrun show Fatukasi is the exact pronunciation now
(17:14):
that he goes by Foley. Butthe first name, full of run show
is how you pronounce it Fatukasi withthe emphasis on the car. Just want
to make sure we get that out. I'm pretty sure I've said it right
to start the show. But itagain, it's a Padakoski Potokasi. Yes,
AnyWho I thought you said Skiski.Oh, now it doesn't matter how
(17:37):
I pronounced name. I actually getthe guy's name right. Play. What
I care about is can he playnow? I was on the phone this
morning with a former defensive coach forthe Jacksonville Jaguars. Is that entire defensive
staff was fired at the conclusion ofthe season, I asked him, I
said, tell me about Foley? He said, is Dimko trying to win?
(18:00):
Question mark? Question Mark? Hesaid, Number one brother's definitely a
furniture mover. So I've been talkingabout they need another big body like they
needed an anchor on that defensive line. I thought, all due respect to
Collins and rankings on the interior,I thought they wore down over the course
of the season. They need andthat all those body types are relatively similar.
(18:21):
I need a big boy in there. Polokasi is a big boy,
all right. Cool. Then hegoes on, he said, now I
have to be honest with you ina different way. I said, what
are you talking about? All Bowlcaps? Fully sucks? I said,
what do you mean? He said, I repeat, he sucks. He
looks the part. He doesn't playhard, he doesn't strain, he doesn't
(18:42):
finish, he doesn't play strong talkingabout like consistently. He doesn't play with
gap integrity. He got hurt intwenty twenty two and then we benched them.
I wish we could have benched himthis year. He's part of the
reason we as a staff got fired, got paid the three years thirty with
a million from us in Jacksonville, and never lived up to the contract.
(19:03):
That is what a guy that wasin the meeting rooms on the field with
Foley every day has to say aboutit. And you know what what it
made me think of too. Rememberthat season finale game whereas Jaguars are Titans,
and we were rooting for the forthe Titans ball off the upset of
the Jacks so the Texans could winthe division. What were the Titans doing
to the Jacks that they run itdown their throat? Derrick Henry ran for
(19:26):
one hundred and fifty three yards thatday. I'm just saying for the guy
that's supposed to be oh, he'sa run stuffer. Okay, well,
well, to be fair, he'sone dude. But if you look at
and I'd have to go look atthe tape to actually be fair. But
when I hear a dude that Itrust the judgment that was on the practice
field with the dude every day that'sin the meeting rooms, that didn't make
(19:48):
me feel great. Like when youlisten to those characteristics, that doesn't sound
like a guy that understands the Mikoswarm in talent. Well, so that's
where we go back to. There'sa reason why their name's still being thrown
out for Christian Wolkens, reason whythey still talking with Sheldon Rankins. I
mean this again, this guy couldbe a rotational piece, could be Do
you do you think he could bea h a full time starter. Here's
(20:10):
a guy that has started the lastthree years in the league. That's why
I don't know. I don't knowthe puzzle pieces. What I do know
is it is obvious look at thesignings other than Dalton Schultz, and you
gotta have a kicker. So fairBand getting his money is no never mind
to me. I'm glad he gothis money. They haven't re signed anybody
on offense other than Schultz, soDevin Motor Singletary that's the biggest swe right,
(20:36):
And then this wide receiver situation likealthough Brown, Brown is the only
one. I didn't know if theywere going to move on and they still
cook it move on from Robert Woods. I'm just looking at it going maybe
they were gonna they gotta do somethingin swing tackle. Who's gonna play tackle
right now? George fan and CharlieHeckert both free agents they have and Michael
Dieter who you used to throw outMichael Denner like he's a free agent.
(21:00):
So like, they haven't re signedanybody on offense. What does that mean,
Well, let's talk this out. They might be saying Noah Brown and
we can find that guy in themiddle rounds of the draft. You know,
Okay, they lose Michael Dieter, but now you have Juice Scruggs and
Jared Patterson both healthy. So oneof those guys is depth if Kenyon Green
(21:22):
comes back and expects to lock downthat left guard role, which you hope
he does because you invested in thefirst round picking him. So you know,
I just as we talk it out, and I think they look at
it and say, all things,if all these guys are healthy, we
kind of do have some of theseneeds addressed. Now, the singletary one's
big. They're gonna they got tofigure that out. But there may be
you know, I keep hearing thename Ray Davis from Kentucky. They may
(21:44):
love him and I think you canget him in the second round, and
they may say him with Damian Pierce, let's roll, that's a bad idea.
I'm just saying. They may bethinking that you can't trust a running
back, a rookie running back tobe in past pro protecting CJ. Strapp
my franchise quarterback. No, I'mgonna put a veteran in there and then
I will work a young back in. But to just give the job to
(22:07):
first of all, to think thatDamian Pierce is just gonna come back and
automatically be back to what he wasin twenty two. I hope that's the
case. I can't bet on that, so I think they will go get
a veteran running back. We willtalk some more about the running back market.
I want to add two other thingson the way out. We need
to talk rockets because it's gonna putme in a bad mood because we got
some bad news. But did yousee over the weekend we're talking about the
(22:30):
offensive pieces. Kendrick Bourne was aname that had come up in terms of
possible targets for the Texans at widereceiver from the Patriots. He returns to
New England three years, thirty threemillion. So the offensive options now,
Barkley's still there, Derrick Henry, who I like veteran, is still there
(22:51):
for what the Texans do. Ilike Derrick Henry better tight end. We've
shored up and in this wide receivermarket, it's just not a lot out
there. Yeah, and I beginto get a little concern that this thing
is gonna look a lot like runningback. The offensive pieces and most of
the defensive pieces are gonna look quitesimilar. Don't know that, but that's
just what I'm reading right now.We will discussed more free agency starts in
(23:15):
thirty minutes. Officially, for now, though, we step aside. We
come back with Home of Rockets Basketball. Let's talk about Rockets on the wind
Street for the last five three consecutiveroad wins. But the best player on
that team took an l and Alprashin Gun is dealing with both meat and
ankle. We get the latest onRockets. On the other side, Ben
due Bows joins US Sports Talk sevenninety next seth continues, it was not
(23:38):

That is up that side, rimoff left rebound picked up by a blam
bleet, six seconds left to go. He'll dribble into front court and here
tonight in Northern California, it's aRockets win. Final score the Houston Rockets
(24:06):
one at twelve, the Sacramento Kingsone oh four. Welcome back into Sports
Talk seven to ninety, your Homeof Rockets Basketball. That was radio voice
Matt Thomas, he and ros VirielWill come up immediately following this program from
noon to three to Matt Thomas Show, Stan Fleet, Chris Gordon hanging out
here. You're home for Houston sportsfor sure, and for now to talk
(24:30):
more about the Houston Rockets and wherethey staying, we go out to the
guest line, friend of the station, friend of the show. Analysts for
all things Rockets for us, BenDubo's you can see his work on the
Rockets Wire also locked on Rockets andthe loga line being good morning, good
morning, and stand on assuming you'relike me, just sweating bullets waiting for
(24:52):
this allpri indshin hearing refreshing at nauseyend. So I didn't want to tell
Gordon because I won't go there tothink I'm still over here talking and if
it free agency, but I keepgoing, give me the report. What
did the MRI say on abrachine goomand so let's start there. Obviously the
game was I think in hand lastnight? Yeah, when OUTPI goes down.
Obviously you've talked to or heard theconversation from the comments from email Udoka
(25:18):
has that come up and then alsocategorized just how severe is this injury?
For alprachin Goom. It's hard tosay. I think this is a rare
situation because you're looking at injuries toboth to d and the ankles. He's
having both MRI today. So whenwe talk about potential for a long term
INTREW, usually you're thinking as longas it's not the ACL or not the
(25:41):
achilles something like this. With aninjury that involves multiple body parts, it's
a little trickier because even if it'snot that one dreaded injury, it can
be to the combination makes it alot tougher for all of it to heal
because you're having to work on multiplethings at once, and if you need
surgery, then what's the time ofwhen you can do it. There's just
a lot more variable than normal, and so that's why there's a lot of
(26:03):
uncertainty because it's not like there's justone body part or one thing that you're
worried about, and then if theMRI comes back clean, you feel like
you dodged a bullet. So forme, it's a situation where I'm frustrated
because they've been playing extremely well. They've won three straight down the road,
they're four to one this month. That's some of the best ball they've played
all year. So let's be real, sand We knew that the play in
(26:26):
tournament at this point was a reallong shot, especially with both the Lakers
and Warriors getting hot in recent weeks. So even if Shingoon isn't able to
come back in the next month orso before the season ends, that's not
the end of the world. Thekey thing to watch for is can he
get cleared by the midpoint of theoff season. Similar to tari Ethan,
who's you know, recently undergone leginjury surgery first like injury excuse me?
(26:48):
It should be cleared by July. Can he have a full off season to
ramp up for next year. That'swhat I'm watching for. I'm cautiously optimistic,
but until we get the announcement, you're just not going to for sure.
Well, and let me say this, Ben, before we write the
obituary for the Rockets twenty three totwenty twenty four schedule. My crazy you
think Jack Landell gave him some goodminutes the last couple of games. I
(27:11):
mean, I know it's only acouple of games, but like, are
we crazy to think maybe they couldovercome if Jalen Green is hitting some big
shots and they're you know, they'refine a production elsewhere. Nobody can replace
Albi, But can they still getthis done without him? It's going to
be hard, But we should notethat the schedule eat it up considerably.
(27:33):
They've got a couple against the Wizardscoming up, You've got the Spurs or
the worst team in the West,so it's a good time in the schedule
to have it. I think,by and large, it's going to be
difficult. The two guys I'm lookingat the most are actually Jalen Green and
Cam Whitmore because you think about allperson doing as a big guy, but
yeah, you're right. Jack Landelhas played capable of late. Jeff Green
has been solid all year. Theycan set screens where I think they're really
(27:57):
going to miss all p It's notso much his size, or his presence
or his rebounding. You can findthat in different areas. It's more what
he does offensively. He's the guythat always draws a second defender. He
allows him to generate so many openthrees based on sort of the gravity and
the presence he has on the court. So with all p out, the
(28:18):
question is if you're not commanding doubleswho can just go out and get a
tough bucket and make something happen. And so the two guys I'm looking at
are Jalen Green and Cam Whitmore, these potentially top tier scorers of the lead
athleticism. The good news, Jalen'splayed some of his best small in the
last couple of weeks, and they'regoing to need that to continue because for
me, it's the offensive into thecourt and the presence that Shangoon typically carries
(28:41):
with him. That's what They're goingto need someone to step up. And
so it's less about who replaces Shangoondirectly in the lineup. Do they go
small with Jabari Smith and they justgo with Jack Landale and Jeff Green.
It's more about how do they fillthat scoring and playmaking. And I think
Jalen Green and Kim wit More ofthe two guys are going to look at
the voice a friend of the ourSports Talk seven ninety Rockets analysts, Ben
(29:03):
Dubo's You also hear his work onthe podcast The Logger Line and Locked on
the Rockets. I'm gonna take astep back because I didn't say this to
set it up and shame on me. The Rockets over the weekend. They've
won two in a row, fourof the last five, and three consecutive
road games. We know the roadhas been an Achilles hill for the Rockets
(29:26):
of sorts. However, with allthat being said, what I'm looking at
right now says the Rockets are currentlyin the eleventh spot. Now the teams
ahead of them Sacramento, ironically enough, Dallas, the Lakers in Golden State.
Are we really saying that the Rocketshave no shot to climb back in
this play in tournament? I knowyou just mentioned the opponents and the schedule
(29:47):
of lightning up, but what isthe temperament you're hearing from the team reading
the tea leagues in between the linesbeing Oh, they're not gonna give up.
Joko wants these guys to compete. So that's just strictly me looking at
it. When you're five to sixgames back with only a month to play,
and the teams in front of youhave all tipe legends like Lebron James,
(30:08):
it's Steph Curry. I'm saying toughfrom a team perspective, No,
emay Udoka wants these guys to goout and embrace the challenge and until they're
eliminated, that's what they're going todo. This is not a season like
the last couple where you're focused onthe draft pick. No, you want
to build winning habits. And that'sthe one sort of sober lining here.
As much as the Shingoon injury reallysucks, and even if it's the best
(30:32):
case possible outcoming, you only missit in a couple of weeks something like
that. Maybe it's an ankle sprainand you know, a hyper extension,
but nothing that's too alarming in thebig picture. Even if it's the best
case, just missing in for acouple of weeks, that's probably the death
knell when you're already five ish gains. Back. With that said, emay
Udoka wants these guys to compete. This is not a season where they're going
(30:53):
to say, screw it, let'slet's play for a higher draft pick.
No, they want to develop thosewinning habits. It is a manageable part
of the schedule. Even without Shingoun. Can you beat teams like the Wizards
and the Spurs? I think so. There's no reason why they can't compete.
And again, as frustrating as itis, they do have other guys
that can pick up the slack offensively. Jalen and Cam have been better.
(31:17):
One thing that's sort of flown underthe radar, but I want to call
out Fredman Vleet since the All StarBreak, has been so much better shooting,
facilitating. Last night he led theway twenty two points, nine assists.
Think he had five three pointers inone of those games. This weekend,
he's been so much better. Hewas struggling going into the All Star
Break and he had issues with hisback. He had the leg injury the
(31:37):
five before the break. He's beena lot better, and so the hope
is that it's going to be avery different style of offense. It's going
to have to be perimeter oriented guyslike Jalen, Cam and let's throw Fred
in there as well. But youdo have those guys in relatively good forb
and you're going up against a weakerpart of the schedule, so you're still
going to feel the impact, butI would say it's probably a little bit
less of an impact than if itwas a month ago. All Right,
(32:00):
we'll get you out of here onthis one. Rockets on the road tomorrow
night at San Antonio seven to thirtylocal time. We'll get rocking and rolling
there eighteen games remaining. Take usback to what the over under was on
Rockets wins coming into the season.I've got thirty five in my head.
Does that sound low to you oris that by right from what you remember?
(32:22):
I think it was thirty one anda half. I think you're a
little high on that. So it'sstill going to be a successful season,
That's what I mean. Unless theyYeah, unless they just finish like catastrophically
bad, like you know, ohand seventeen, oh and eighteen whatever is
left. Yeah, they've overachieved allrealistic expectations and now you're going into a
(32:44):
period where you're not going to havethe guy who's been your best player at
least for a few games, andprobably more than that. So no matter
what, it's a step in theright direction. Imo Udoka has these guys
competing. The one concern I had, and we've said this the last couple
of time have been on the show, is you know, the bad habits
going into the All Star break, negative momentum, can you undo all the
(33:05):
progress? And they have come backfrom the All Star Break with a vengeon,
even against some top opponents. They'vecome out and played well. So
while this sucks, I do thinkthat by and large, at a much
bigger level, this is what youwant to see. They are playing hard,
they're playing with the edge that emailUjokub wants to instill. And I
think in the macro sense, aslong as you didn't lose shing Goon for
(33:25):
part of next season, I thinkyou're going to go into this offseason feeling
pretty good about what they've done. All right, we will monitor your social
media at ben do bos b en d u b o se for any
updates on Affron Shehan, Guns, mri x Rays, all the Things Today
and all other Rockets content. Again. Bendu Bo's analysts for US here for
(33:46):
Rockets content on Sports Talk seven ninety. He's also edited of USA Today is
the Rocket Wire, and of courseyou're listen to the logger line and locked
on Rockets band. Have a goodweek. Brother. We appreciate you kicking
it. Would have spend it sometime today some good things for I guess
all right, man, there itis slide on that. Let's do this,
let's step aside, let's come back. I think Kevin and Conroe has
(34:07):
a comment will button up Rockets content. We'll also talk about the other basketball
team in this city that's playing greatball right now. There's some champions over
there in third Ward Gordon University ofHouston Men's hoops. Go Coog's on the
other side. Next up, wrappingup our one Sports Talk seven ninety touchdown
Texas coach Stark Here. You're nextup with Stan Northfleet and Chris Gordy of
(34:29):
Sports Talk seven to ninety, Houston'shome of Longhorn Football. Oh my goodness,
Oh yeah, I wonder is thisis gonna be one of the songs
that Drizzy performs during the rodeo tomorrow. I'm geek, Gordon. Rodeo season
is upon us. Many of youmajor way over there to the NRG over
the weekend. Hope you enjoyed thatquite pleasurable weekend for me. I hope
(34:51):
it was for you as well.Rockets over the weekend. Get it done
on a two game win. Streetwinners are four of the last five three
road victories in a row consecutively.First time they've done that on seasons.
I want to say, on yourThursday when they blew that, damn least
he'll be on a five get winstreak right now if you hadn't booned.
Now this is true. All right, let's go to the phone lines and
(35:12):
wrap up the Rockets convo for thishour at least. Kevin up in conro.
What's up? Man? Hey?What's upstand? That's you think?
It's got? One question? Ifthe Rockets had pulled Shan going out with
about forty five seconds left in thegame last night, they were up by
eight and they would have lost thatgame, what would everybody have said?
Right? Well, if you watchthe game, and I'm presuming you did,
(35:36):
I thought the flow of the game. I understand. I'm not mad
at e May for not pulling him, but it just thirty nine second forty
five seconds. It wasn't in handjust yet because the Kings had just closed
that caps but but Jam greed itjust shot the three. But it was
okay, But it still wasn't fullysecured yet. I mean, moments before
(35:58):
that, it was a three pointgame, eight points with forty five seconds.
I get it. But they wereall them stand from seven minutes,
they had all of them at him. You couldn't buy a bucket. And
to be fair, it's a generalbasketball player Kevin, your point is valid
in that. Yeah, people wouldhave I don't know, I'm going back
(36:19):
and forth. What would you havesaid, Kevin, if Udoka had taken
Alpi off the floor right there andsome bonus and them come back and do
some crazy and they win the game, would you have had a problem with
it? Yeah, you took yourstarters out. The Rockets not in position
to be trying to pull a player. When when did the Rockets get good
enough to where they could start sittingthere? Right? Who does that in
(36:44):
the game? Right? I mean, it's not like that's two shots.
No, it's under a minute. It's an eight point lead. In the
NBA, nobody should be able tocome back eight points. It does happen
on rare occasion. But now letme ask you, is the win last
night and they were able to holdon a win, is that worth alfre
shin Gun Maybe, depending on whateverthis prognosis is. What if they don't
(37:07):
get appy back to the damn Christmasnext year? On Christmas next what is
it worth it? I'm glad youass because the way the Rockets been active
and the way they've been drafted, just the best thing could have happened,
because now they forced to get anotherbig man, some size the Rockets.
Their weakness is on the inside inthe post man. That's terrible. On
(37:30):
that post defense, people just draftthat basket left and right. So yeah,
that was just, you know,as sad as it is, it
took this to get the Rockets. You look at each position on that team.
Every position has a backup that canpush the starter, except for the
center position. You got one centerthat you don't want to play. You
(37:51):
got another center that you can't play, and you got one that you Jack
Glyndell. You've been trying to gethim some minutes in here. Now you
know the Rockets need and that's whythey needed that. And so that's why
the Steven Adams trade for next year. You're lucky that. I'm just what
do we say? I know, but Steven Adams, Man, come on,
(38:14):
Steven Adams. You don't even knowif he's gonna be able to play
or not. Got this old center. You got an old center man that
you need some You got a youngteam. You got a young team,
and you went and got bobonn you'rekeeping him, you know which, you
don't give him any time. Andthen you got Steven Adams. You don't
(38:35):
know. He's thirty something years oldand you got all these twenty year olds
running up and down the court. That's not gonna hold up. They need
some length, They need some lyntthat can block shots, that can command
that post because ap just is notthe athlete to do that. And it's
okay, he's great than what hedoes. You can't take it the fact.
(38:58):
You can't take away from the factthat the Rockets are chambl in the
post man. I agree. Iagreed. They need some size. Kevin
and Conrod getting us ride up alittle bit. Rockets are gonna make some
addition to the front court. ThirtySo he is uh and all indications that
he returned win healthy. He's abadass and he's an enforced Yeah, got
no issue with that. Probably agood compliment that you want to alp.
(39:22):
Yeah, because he's an legit centersize. You can outfit to the four
if you wanted to. Yeah, now there is I was just looking at
the prospect. So you got thebig French kid Sar. He's the one
everybody wants. But he's expected atthe top five, so I don't think
the Rockets will be picking there. The next best center in the draft is
projected as a back end of thelottery, the kid from from Duke.
(39:43):
They got his footstep though when theystorm the court. Philip philipse Yeah,
so maybe you can look at him. But yeah, knowing you got Steven
Adams next year with Alp, youknow, presumably hopefully nothing to too serious
that's gonna keep him out for nextyear. But uh no, you'll feel
good there. But yeah, therehave been a Rockets has been torn in
US as good as Alpi has been, and he's taking his game to another
(40:04):
level this year. He's been outstandingaverage. Basically, he gets pushed around
by the bigger big man in thisleague. We just saw last week or
the week before. I think itwas last week Valentuna's other Pelicans came here
and now Alpi will get his poundof flesh. I mean, he will
be productive on the offensive end.But yeah, going up against the likes
(40:24):
of dudes like Karl Anthony Towns andspeaking of meniscus, car Anthony Towns is
out for the timber Wolves. He'sgot to have surgery as well. So
the Western Conference. Man again, here are the teams that are vying for
the playing spot Rockets currently sitting justoutside that line of demarcation. Twenty nine
and thirty five on the season, there at the eleven spot in the West,
(40:45):
spot ten, Golden State spot nine, the Lakers eight, Dallas seven,
Sacramento Phoenix is at six. Imean, it's just tough. The
Western Conference is absolutely brutal. Sowe'll see what emao Udoka can do with
the crew for the remaining eighteen games. All right, let's pivot to another
basketball team that gets busy in thiscity. Let's love on the University of
(41:07):
Houston Gordon men's Coog's team get itdone on Saturday, packed house Senior night.
Sounds like there was a resounding applauseand recognition of Jamal Shad. We'll
talk more about him in just asecond, veteran point guard that he is.
But people wanted to see. Obviously, the Cooks had already locked up
a share of the title and thenSaturday Gordon, this thing was over off
(41:30):
the rip. It was eerily similarto the game we saw when Coogs went
on the road and they went tofag Gallen on and Ku got out what
was that scored halftime? Can youbeat the but Jesus out of the Coogs
on the road that game that scoredwas forty three to twenty eight at the
half. The game earlier in theseason in Kansas it was forty twenty one
(41:54):
at the half here at the FatidaCenter. Who I saw this earlier.
The Cougar shot forty four percent fromthe game, eleven of twenty nine from
three forced eighteen turner of excuse me, and converted those into thirty points.
That was like, what do youwant to say? What do you call
it? That's like textbook pictureresque.Kelvin Sampson, this is how the Cooog's
(42:17):
played live by Jamal shed In yourthoughts on the KU beat down for it
was predictable. I mean when Ikept hearing all last week predicted by thirty,
well you beat that as by thirtywell, but I kept hearing that
it was a sellout. It waslike two hundred bucks to get in the
door. They were gonna honor JimNansen, have time. You know all
the recipe in the making of beatingup on Kansas. And they, I
(42:40):
mean, they jumped up till thatquick lead and never looked back. So
I expected, I hate to putthat pressure on them, but I expected
it to beat Tell out of Kansas. Cougar's closed the regular season by winning
their ninth straight game and extending theirhome winning street to twenty two games.
Kelvin Sampson has been done the Bigtwelve excuse me, Coach of the Year
(43:02):
Jamal Shied historic feet for him,Big twelve offensive player to you excuse me,
Big twelve Player of the year. Also Big twelve Defensive Player of the
Year. The first time that hashappened in the com Think of the contrast,
too, is the new teams inthe Big twelve in football, it's
taking some adjusting U of h.It's a step up in competition. But
(43:22):
for basketball businesses, us in theANAC will win the Big twelve. We
wouldn't the freaking Pact twelve or sec. Let us in there all right,
is getting ready to start. Inthirty seconds, we're gonna have NFL free
agency officially underway. We will discusshow this impacts the Texans. There are
other nuggets given what took place overthe weekend, and it's a bit of
(43:44):
breaking news that involves the Texans rivalshere in the AFC South. However,
going to whether it's football season, you getting ready for March madness refreshments.
What we're doing drinking some Crawford Boxfrom our friends at Carback Brook. I
enjoyed a couple over the weekend watchingthe Astros. Listening to the Astros.
It was so nice. I hearda Kyle Tucker three run dinger, I
(44:05):
heard a Jordan Alvarez dinger, andI enjoyed my as Caol Crawford back while
I was listening to the Astros onseven ninety and you can too. I
was, uh, I stocked atthe fridge over the weekend. I was
actually out and about looking around town. Do you know you can find the
Krawford Bock from Carbock just about anywhere, whether it's h GB, Randalls,
Total Wine Specs, Target, Imean, you could find the Crawford Box
(44:28):
just about any store around town.Look, if you even if you're this
desperate, you can even door dashit. You can just get it straight
to your house. That's how goodthe Crawford bock is. You can find
it. You could find it anywhere, and it's so so good. If
you haven't been out to the beergarden over at Carbock Brewing, they got
Look, the weather is getting soso nice. If you weren't outside yesterday.
My goodness, it was so ridiculouslynice. But warmer temperatures mean you
(44:52):
can enjoy that ice cool Crawford backright from the source right there, Carbock
Brewing, and have some fun outthere in the beer garden. Check out
the store and the new pizzeria openingvery soon. You want to make sure
you check out that as well.It is the Crawford Box from our friends
at Carbock Berry. Now what's next, next stop? It's the next man
(45:13):
up, next stop, the nextstep, Take the next step, next
up, next stop, next nextstop. This team wants to be next.
This is next up with Tad NorfleetenChris Gordy. Let's see what's next
next next hour to find an hourof the program here in the Sports Talk
(45:35):
seven ninety studios at stand sportsman wouldbe me to my left. He is
at Chris Gordon over there doing somecool stuff with a computer and graphics and
microphone and screening calls and doing someother stuff that's kind of d McGovern in
the production and program. And youappreciate you, Houston, hanging out with
us for the first hour. Ifyou missed that, make sure you go
to Sports seven ninety dot com orgo get your mobile apparatus and go to
(45:58):
the iHeartRadio app downloadable for free SportsTalk seven ninety You pull up next up
Gordi Fleet. You'll see us,see our pictures there rather and then we
can rock from there big day today. As we are now four minutes
officially into the twenty twenty four NFLfree agency period. Over the weekend,
Demico Rise and Nick Cassio putting insome work. I tried to connect some
(46:20):
dots to start the show in theten o'clock hour, guys, as the
Texans signed over the weekend Khalil Davis, a reserve interior defensive lineman. They
went and got with Foley Faticasi fromthe Jacksonville Jaguars, a guy that I
know formerly of the Jaguars defensive staff, a former coach. He did not
(46:42):
speak very favorable of one. Follyhere is a big guy, he is
aggressive, Probably going to be ananchor in the run game. Don't know
if he's going to be a rotationalpiece, but he has started a ton
of football games over the previous threeseasons. Essentially a cap casualty, which
is why Jacksonville is moving on.What else do we hear a former player
(47:04):
for Demiko Ryan San Francisco. EricArmstead, former seventeenth overall pick Ida Oregon,
has played his entire career in theBay for the San Francisco for the
nine Ers. He does not agreewith John Lynch on a salary reduction,
so they will release him and heis looking to find a home. Is
that a big body, versatile interiordefensive lineman at Demico or Nick Cassio would
(47:29):
look to add to this defensive front. We know that Demiko mentioned he would
put significant resources. He said aton of resources will go into fixing the
front so that they play much betterthan they did a year ago. I
made the point, Gordon, we'llswing around here because there's news on the
offensive front. I go. Theonly offensive piece that the Texans have resigned
(47:52):
has been Dalton Schortz. Perhaps thisis the day that we get some news
on whether it be said Kwon Barkley, Derrick Henry. I doubt it be
a Tier one Riot receiver for afew reasons. One, Michael Pittman just
got a huge deal even though hewas franchise tagged already. You had the
details on that deal. I don'tknow if you still have him up.
(48:14):
Sorry, to put you on thespot. Was that seventy three million or
something? Forty three year, seventyone and a half million with forty six
million guaranteed. So I think MichaelPittman's a he's a fine wide receiver.
But I mean that's like you thinkhe's a top ten receiver in the league
and that's a lot of cash.Yeah, I'm happy for the player,
you know, I want to seemy guys get paid. But Michael Pittman
(48:37):
at that money, I mean, that's so now you start thinking about Nico
Collins, that just take the Nicotook the Nico deal. Look at the
cop Michael Pittman last year eleven onehundred and nine receptions for eleven hundred yards
and four touchdowns. Nico Collins hadalmost thirteen hundred yards with double the touchouts
eight compared to Michael Pittman's four.So Nico does that again. I mean
(49:02):
you're gonna have to You're gonna haveto give them something like this. And
so what I said to open theshow and I'll take your phone calls on
this. You guys want to getin on Texans free agency, and we
need to bounce around the league becausethere are other dominoes that impact the Texans
directly indirectly seven one three two onetwo five seven ninety J money, you'll
be next up. It's almost twentyfour million a year. So this is
where I was going, like twentyfour million a year for Michael Pittman.
(49:25):
JUNR. What if Michael Mike Evansgot twenty six million a year. So
that's what it is. I don'tthink best based on who's left. The
number one free agency still on themarket from a wide receiver standpoint is Calvin
Ridley. Are you giving Calvin Ridleytwenty five million a year? He might
(49:46):
he might get it based on this, No, I'm saying it's Casario gonna
do. No, No, theTexans aren't getting all right. So Texans
have removed themselves. They've resigned Daltonshows tight end market. They're done from
a starting wide receiver standpoint, AndI know T Higgins is all pissed off.
You know, he's tagged and nowas Michael Pittman, money's probably got
(50:06):
T Higgins like yeah, no,no, no, no, I'm better
than Pittman, which he is.I want Pittman money or better. So
we'll see what Cincinnati does with t. Higgins who wants to be traded about
it. I don't think the Texansare adding a tier one receiver now we
started getting into tier two. KendrickBourn goes back to New England three years,
thirty three million dollars the names. In other words, at the wide
(50:29):
receiver position, they're running out ofbodies. Gordon, I don't think the
Texans are adding a wide receiver ofnote. No, they might get a
you know, rotational guy. Here'swhere the Texans are a wide receiver.
They believe they have their number onein Nico Collins. They believe they have
their number two in Tank Dell andRobert Woods. Yes, he's at nine
(50:50):
million this year on the last yearof the deal, but I think they
may end up keeping him now. They may ask him to rework the deal,
maybe, you know, kind oftake a little less or something.
Joel Brown is your fourth and theyhave John Matchi, Xavier Hutchinson, Noah
Brown is the only free agent.I think they look at if they're not
going to bring back Noel Brown, they look at, you know, upgrading
that position. But you're talking aboutwide receiver three or four, so and
(51:15):
they might feel like maybe there's somebodywe can draft in the second or third
round to fill that hole. Now, I did get peeved over the weekend
about the wide receiver position and asit pertains to the Texans. Jerry Judy,
former number one first round pick.I didn't want to say number on
all, but he is a numberone pick, goes to the Denver Broncos
out of University Alabama. Jerry Judy, known obviously for the speed, has
(51:39):
had some drops. Has been calledinto question by some of the pundits and
analysts, including former wide receiver SteveSmith Senior, if you remember that exchange
between him and Jerry Judy. JerryJudy goes to the Cleveland Browns for a
twenty twenty four fifth and sixth roundpick. I did when I saw that
deal announced, the first thing Ithought, casari on, Jerry Judy can't
(52:01):
help us for a fifth and sixthround pick. Where does he fit though?
What you mean? Like? Whatis Jerry Judy? Isn't he a
number one or number two receiver?Yeah? Didn't we just say that Texans
already have a number one or numbertwo receiver? You know how I feel
you can never have enough weapons fora young quarterback. I agree. I'm
(52:22):
bastally fine. But the whole reasonJerry Judy wants out of Denver is to
go be the number one or numbertwo elsewhere. And if he gets here
and he becomes the number one, like everybody's falling in love, like Nico
has to be a one. No, Nico showed me he was a one
for a season, showed me youcan do it again. Now. Jerry
Judy's production has been inconsistent as well. But when I look at adding a
(52:45):
weapon like Jerry Judy, that wouldhave been nice to go along with Nico.
Whether it's one or two or whetherit's one in one A, I
don't really give it amp. Theyjust need more dudes that can catch the
football and make something happen. Andfor a fifth and six round pick,
I had to ask Cassario, wecan't get that done. No, I
(53:07):
think they feel like they have theirreceivers. They don't. You add a
Jerry Judy he wants to come hereto replace that, then you're then you're
cutting Nico Collins. You're trading himaway. I mean, like why,
because look how much firepower the CincinnatiBengals had. Look how much firepower the
Los Angeles charges, and we needto keep our eyes on Keenan Allen and
Mike Williams those wide receivers as well. Like since when look when Brady the
(53:30):
offensive weapona he had and his disposalwhen Brady went to Tampa. When is
having too many options on offensive badthing? I don't understand that. It's
just it's a tough road to godown these days because guys, because guys
want, uh Like, if I'ma one, I want to be paid
like a one. I don't havea problem. Jared Judy's not even up
(53:51):
for a contract. But the wholereason day he's not even gonna be a
one in Cleveland because Mark Cooper's theone. So if you're going to Cleveland
and they are ready to have itone, let's assume Nico is this team's
one moving forward. Then what's thedifference because Sarrio, get on the damn
phone and get Jerry Judy here, unless they just don't like Jerry Judy.
In that case, I just gotto trust the evaluation because he's Denver moving
(54:13):
off from Jered Jerry Judy Denver startingover period there, Jerry Judy and Courtland
Sutton were thought to be available. They did just give some money to what
Patrick? I think just got somemoney to remain there in Denver. So
I think they're just doing And ofcourse they just took Marvin Mems of the
second round of your ago. That'sthe part of it too. What we
have not discussed and we'll take yourphone calls on this seven one three,
(54:35):
two one two five seven ninety formerquarterback in Denver has a new home.
How does that impact the Texans?More conversation to come, Jay Money,
I promise you next up on theother side, Sports Talk seven ninety.
Who's got next? That's one, here's the what's coming next? What do
you do next? And who's gottatake it to the next level? Statton
(54:59):
R. Fleets and Chris Gordy. This is next up on Sports Talk seven
ninety. Rose will be in thecity tomorrow joining bun Be takeover. Ricky
Ross will be in town along withDrake, eve Ying, Yang Twins and
others. I keep bringing it up, Gordon, because I'm excited about it.
If you can't tell, I'm alsoexcited about free agency twenty twenty four.
(55:22):
We are what seventeen minutes into theofficial tampering period, and numbers continue
to come out deals being agreed toin principle, affecting the Texans indirectly in
most of these cases. The onethat just broke as a couple minutes ago
Mike Garrifalo of NFL Network, theBears have agreed to terms with former Eagles
(55:45):
running back DeAndre Swift, a threeyear, twenty four million dollar deal.
According to Ian Rapaport, so thatis a running back that had been linked
to the Texans. DeAndre Swift isnow off of the board. So he
is the first running back to go. DeAndre Swift at eight million a year.
(56:06):
You know who just made some money, Devin Motor Singletary, you think
so, Yeah, he's in thatcategory. Though DeAndre Swift was considered one
of the better. I mean hejust what he had a really nice year
in Yeah. But like to me, it's different because Swift was brought to
Philly to be the starter to bethe feature back two years ago him in
(56:30):
Montstery was bought brought here to bea complimentary back to Damian Pearce. It
just so happened Pierce wasn't good. They pivoted. Singletary did his thing.
But I don't know if you'll putthe tape out there. He did.
But how many teams out there doyou think are looking at Devin Singletary going,
oh, that's a work horse back. No, it's not about being
a workhorse, because the the leagueby and large is committee. I think
(56:52):
there are several teams out there thatgoes Devin Singletary has proven in Buffalo and
in Houston that he can start atrunning back in this league. He can
catch the football. He can alsorun in a gap and in a zone
scheme. I think Devin Singletary hasreal value. I am somewhat surprised that
(57:12):
the Texans have not re signed himprior to this period starting now. I
got a phone call over the weekendand let me just say that the Texans
have made an offer to Singletary andhe is not pleased with what has been
offered. And let me just stopthere a little tough then, I mean,
he's fine, let me put thisaway. The Texans are going to
(57:34):
be just fined if they have tomove on from Devin Singletary. And I
think because of this swift deal andother moves, and yeah, the market
is full of backs that are certainlycapable, but I think if this is
the template. Swift is the firstone of these guys to get money.
Swift at eight million just brought everybodyelse up. So a Tony Pollard,
a Devin Singletary. Dudes are like, yo, I'm in this space.
(57:57):
If you're Austin Eckley, you're going, oh eight million prior on average?
Anyway, Oh yeah, I shouldbe up in the teen. Maybe we'll
see maybe even a towel about thatthat he gets that much. What do
you call it, Josh Jacobs. There was a report that the Raiders are
have been attempting to re sign him. Uh. This is kind of funny
because it's like they what they taggedhim, and it was like, we
(58:19):
don't know if they want you.And all the guy did was put his
head down and kept working his assoff. It was awesome and uh and
and now they're trying to get adeal done. There's also a report that
the Texans and Eagles are involved intalks with Saquon Barkley. This is from
Connor Hughes from U s n Y, but he specified that both teams are
involved at the ten million dollars peryear level in contract discussions. I just
(58:45):
don't like the Texans really do theyreally think Saquon bark Like, Okay,
maybe maybe if these days, likeif Jacob stays in in in Vegas and
Derek Henry flies off the board, stays in Dallas, and like if all
the I'm gonna start to fall, maybe the taxings do say you know what,
maybe if we can get Saquon aten million a year for two three
(59:06):
years, let's pull a trigger.I'm scared of the death of that deal.
I want no part of Saquon Barkleyat ten twelve take that back.
I want to I will listen toit. At ten above ten eleven twelve
million for Saquon I'm not doing that. I just don't trust his durability.
Speaking of the running back market, and I promise you Jay Money, here
I come. According to our ownAaron Wilson. A developing market to watch
(59:27):
for Colts running back Zack Moss drawinginterest Texans, Titans, Packers, and
Brown According to league sources, ZachMoss coming off a productive season in Indianapolis.
So we will see what happens there. Let's go to the fall line.
Now, j Money, all right, we in here, baby,
Let's talk to some NFL free agency. What's going on, man, how
you feel the man? Gord itboy? I'll tell you you on top
(59:49):
of it today. But I gotsome three part questions. Okay. First
of all, I don't hear youmention anything about Kenyan Green going forward.
You know, I brought that upto you a couple of weeks ago.
And does he kind of figure inthe Texans plans or does that kind of
coexist with possibly the number one pickmaybe being a lineman. You know,
(01:00:12):
I haven't heard you touch on itor anything, and I brought it up
a couple of weeks ago, soI want you to touch on that again.
Okay. Then the comment that DaltonSchultz made about the Cowboys and then
the Cowboys sailing to pick up MichaelParson's fifth year option, as well as
the listening of him being a defensivetackle compared to a linebacker. That kind
(01:00:37):
of threw a monkey wrench in itbecause the money issues and the comment that
Schultz has made has been somewhat ofthe kind of thing that Jerry has been
doing over the years. He's talkingabout making a splash and the contract that
Chris Jones made, Jerry would havenever paid that. And then going forward,
(01:00:57):
where do you see the Texans draftingnow and with this Jerry Judy,
whoever signed that contract you just talkedabout, and has that set of presidents
on the detections maybe picking up areceiver. And what is the Cowboys gonna
do between Parsons and Lamb because Isee they having a discussed Lamb spits here
(01:01:17):
option. I'll sit back and getyour take on it, man, and
y'all have a good day. Appreciateit, Jay Money giving us a shot.
That's Those are several topics. Idon't know that I can cover all
of those, but we'll give ita shot here real quick. Ken You
Green, I have heard nothing,no updates on his medical report. He's
a fifteenth overall pick from a coupleof seas ago. They're going to give
him every opportunity to show that hedeserves to be inked in in every game.
(01:01:43):
Starter. I have not seen thatfrom him. I don't have any
updates on Kenya Green's health. DaltonSchultz and the Cowboys comment about it being
a zoo you and I got intoit last week. In terms of having
the discussion about it last week,Gordy Dalton Schultz was just telling them,
look, Jerry sales, tours toeverything. He wants the fans to be
up close, up close, excuseme, and to be able to touch
(01:02:05):
the team damn near at all times. That's just a part of it.
He wasn't calling the organization chaotic. He was saying, like, it's just
you're you're in a fish bowl.Like people, They're always eyes on you,
and sometime the attention can be alittle bit uncomfortable. Michael Parsons versus
Lamb, they still have. Theydid exercise Parsons fifthy option. He was
(01:02:27):
pissed off because they designated him asa defensive lineman instead of a linebacker.
Cost him about three million dollars difference. It's not gonna matter. They're gonna
give Michael Parsons a record deal. He's gonna get paid as the multifaceted edge
defender slash linebacker the years. MichaelParson's money will be fine. They're gonna
pay Cde Lamb. He'll be fine. Texans draft. Don't think it's going
(01:02:51):
to be an old lineman. I'mstarting to think, God, it's going
to be a defensive lineman. Ithink that's where the Texans get the end
opposite of Will Anderson Jim anything onany of those that's that's been the that's
that's the betting favorite right now.I mean, I would say, don't
disc out corner. If there's acorner out there. That's all exactly.
We still don't know about Steven Nelson, And you know, again, you
(01:03:13):
kind of got into a money warwith him last training camp, so you
know, who's to say they're goingto get a deal done with him.
But yeah, it's it's just kindof fascinating to see the dominoes start to
fall here. But you know,as we mentioned, you know, okay,
so DeAndre Swift is off the boardthat these talks with Saquon Barkley appear
to be pretty serious according to reportsout there. So but would you rat
(01:03:36):
like, I just feel like Iwant to be able to pivot. Last
year you had the flexibility to pivotwhen Damian Pierce proved he wasn't the guy.
You had Devin Singletary to ride tobe the guy. What happens if
Saquon Barkley comes here in ten Millionaireand gets hurt? Who fills that void?
Do you feel good enough about Pierce? Well, that's why I said,
(01:03:57):
whoever they bring in in free agency, whether it's he signed a singletary
or not, I'm still drafting aback or signing somebody to beat like a
veteran at a lower level value. You can't just come back with singletary appears
and dare like you gotta have something. What if I told you this,
You could have Saquon Barkley, oryou could have Alexander Madison and Deontay Foreman.
(01:04:24):
I would take the latter. Youtake the two guys. I would
take the two guys. That's justme. What say you? Mark and
Humble wants to get in on this. Saquon to the Texans free agency possibilities.
Good morning to you, Mark.Hey, what's going on with what's
possibilty? Henry? You said he'soff the board. No, Henry is
not. DeAndre Swift is off theboard. He's leaving Philly headed to Chicago.
(01:04:48):
Okay, we would you rather haveHenry or Barkley? I would rather
have Henry. I trust the durability, I trust the style. Henry runs
better in a own scheme the waySakuon Barkley. He's boom or bust.
He's not a guy that I thinkis going to consistently get you four four
(01:05:12):
point two four and a half yardsof carry. I know Henry's gonna be
a hammer, and he's gonna beavailable if nothing else. And Henry also
still has some home run long ballpotential, if you will. I'm a
Henry guy, and I think Henrywould be willing to take a shorter deal.
He's already made his money now hewants to keep making money. I
get it, but I think Henrymight be willing to take a shorter deal.
(01:05:34):
The problem is I keep hearing DerrickHenry to Baltimore, and so you
go with the MVP and Lamar Jackson. You know Baltimore has stylistically, they
cater to the backs. Now,oh, I just saw something. This
is according to Joe Shad of theHe's a Miami Dolphins journalist, previously a
(01:05:57):
ESPN. He's with the Orlando Sentinel. He's been on that Dolphins beat Vikings
Browns forty nine ers to watch forChristian Wilkins, says Tom Pilisarro of the
NFL Network. Texans not in thatone. Interesting, That's fine. I
look, Christian Wilkins would be great. I just don't want to let the
if I got to pick him oneof the highest paid defensive tackles and pay
(01:06:18):
big over the next three four yearsfor him. I just I trust this
staff and the evaluations to find somebodyelse. Metabk is at twenty four and
a half million dollars and Wilkins isbetter than him. So you're talking abou
Oh and dude the guy say that, Yeah, twenty five million is about
what Wilkins is gonna come in at, maybe twenty six if he can get
(01:06:39):
a bidding war. He's not gettingAaron Donald money. Aaron Donald Chris Jones
are thirty one plus million dollar playerson an annual basis. I just think
Wilkins has been priced out of whatI think the Texans are willing to do.
I am preparing the Texans fans thisroster next year might look pretty similar
to what it looked like this year, because I just think the priority is
(01:07:00):
resigning most of their guys. Obviously, you got the draft, and there
may be some additions in free agencyhere or there. But that big name
that we all thinking about talking aboutdesiring, I don't know that this year's
class in the back of my head, and we'll step aside and come back.
Al on the South side michaeln heightsidegrab you, Gordon. I keep
hear Cassario. We look at thesalary cap in two year increments, not
(01:07:25):
one. There's a reason he saidthat last week or two weeks ago from
the combine. I can't get itout of my head. We'll take your
phone calls as well. Seven onethree two two five seven ninety. All
your updates NFL free agency thirty minutesfrom now. Matt Thomas Rossberry Sports Talk
seven ninety. Next up continues onyour computer. Listen to Sports Talk seven
(01:07:46):
ninety on any device with our freeiHeartRadio app talking some NFL free agency here
in the Sports Talk seven ninety studiosstanding Northfleet. Here Chris Gordy right there.
Appreciate your phone calls, and wego back to the phones here in
just a moment seven one three twoon two five seven ninety. I have
an ex post tagging me Gordon andyou. Pollard's vision D line should come
(01:08:15):
from the draft. In other words, Christian Wilkins is not worth the money.
If I'm Caserio, my splurge ison Patrick Queen, linebacker of the
Baltimore Ravens. With Christian Harris andPatrick Queen. Your linebackers are monsters.
As far as running back, heprefers Austin Eckler or Tony Pollard because you
(01:08:39):
also get a pass catching threat. Those would be his two editions. So
he's saying some combination of Eckler,Pollard, and or Patrick Queen. I
just saw a report that says PatrickQueen is likely to follow his former coach
Anthony Weaver. We know about AnthonyWeaver around here in Houston. He was
on that Texan staff with Billy Ohfor a while. I do believe he's
(01:09:04):
now down in Miami as the DC. I don't think Patrick Queen's gonna put
on a Texas uniform. I've kindof written that all for a while.
A good I don't know about you. I could take Austin Eckler see rather
than have Tony Pollard. I justbring back Singletary. He already knows the
terminology and what you dot. Igot Poller and Singretary on the same level.
(01:09:25):
I've got Eckler a little bit.I got Eckler and Jacobs Eckler,
Jacobs Saquon on the same tier.I think Henry's better than all of them.
That's just me. Let's go talkto more free agencies. Shall we
will monitor the wire for any updatesand how that impacts our Houston Texans.
Let's go to al on the southside. What up? Al? Hey?
(01:09:48):
What's up? Man? What's up? Cordon? Hey? All?
Let me get my opinion on acouple of things right here. Only thing
we need to associate ourself with isthe part of Donas. Is that boy
you talking about Armstead, that'll bethat'll be a I heard that he he
probably in the market. That'll bea good pick. Other than that,
(01:10:11):
I don't think we a lot ofpeople thinking that we need to go in
and build like San Francisco, thisDad and the third. We ain't the
parted Ninus. We built in aHouston Texas culture and from what we took
last year, I think we needto build around that. Because you don't
want to try to have expectations tobe like another team. That's worst of
all, so you may not getanother Christomaercaffe. That's cool. You don't
(01:10:32):
want to. You ain't built forthat. You built for your own stamped
in the playoffs, in the seriesthat you've done last year. Now I'm
for the running back, I mean, you know, for this, for
this, I don't know if you'vebeen fighting these people since they came in
the league, staying in Houston,Texas, go out there to know this
as well. We always get tothat point and get not saying a big
(01:10:54):
name, let's say the big namethat really put that on the field,
because there's been a lot of peoplewith big names put it on the field.
I love the Marca Russell. Idigress from that, but I mean
the one that had the production sincethis team been associated with the NFL.
We always get to that name andthen we back up or I don't think
we are. We never landed thatfree agency that can make a difference.
(01:11:15):
And I'm finna sit back and seewhat Nicko Serio even Demko' ryan, because
it's players out there. You canpull a plug with the dudes. You
said Wilkins, Patrick Queen, youI don't see how you let that fit
there onstead even on the offense.I agree with a receiver, but here
and there, you still can draftor whatever get you one of these top
(01:11:36):
three four running backs. He ain'tgot to do much with the passing game.
You got tweak the old line withthe draft and all that. I
little he take, but you needto stamp Houston, Texas, not forty
nine ers, and it's too manybig free agents out there. Let's see
if Nichol Serro do like Rick Smithdid in the past, the manager and
tweak with big players and then runfrom them, and we settle for mediocity
(01:11:59):
the meal good playoffs. We needto turn it up, man, that's
how you win championships. Get outof that and now list teja Al on
the south side wants Nicko Sario tobe aggressive and he is weary regarded of
trying to be too much san Fran. I don't get the sense that Domiko
wants to be san Fran in Houston. This is very different from Bill O'Brien
(01:12:24):
trying to bring the Patriot Way hereto Houston. I think Domiko has a
system and if there are pieces,Hassan Ridgeway, Jimmy Ward, both of
those guys followed him from San Franciscohere. If there are certain guys,
and maybe Eric Armstead is one ofthose guys. I don't know that Eric
Armstead is commanding what Metabik is gettingnearly twenty five million a year, but
(01:12:46):
maybe he's a fifteen to twenty milliondollar guy, and those people they've brought
from Sant Fran. We'll put BobbySlowg in that next as well. Has
there been anybody like, has therebeen one of those movies like, oh,
I was just at the side.Yeah, Ridgeway got hurt so we
never really got a chance to seehe went on injuries. Jenny Ward battle
injuries as well. You know,he's a decent player when he was healthy.
(01:13:09):
So like, I don't know ifthey're like the whole when they were
chasing when Bobbing there was still aliveand they were chasing New England and was
like we go sign ed reed tobig money because it was all about all
he's gonna help us get over thehump and beat New England and all this
like, and they kept bringing allthe New England guys. Like, I
don't think they're doing that here.I mean it's Demiko is smart enough.
(01:13:30):
He's gonna, you know, signguys, get guys that that he thinks
they're good and fit the system, and they happen if they happen to be
guys, they cross paths with insanefriend and so be it. But it
doesn't feel like they're going overboard fromthat approach. A Ziz Ashare left San
Francisco, played for Demiko there. He played for the Titans this past year.
Is that a guy if you don'tget a Patrick quin I just don't
(01:13:51):
see Patrick Queen coming here. Ithink it's too expensive. Do I like
it? Yeah? The Baltimore Ravensdefense went to the next level when they
traded for ro Quwan Smith. Like, you get certain free agents that just
catapault you to something different. Wesee it every year. Now, who
is that guy in this free agentclass? And what position is that?
(01:14:15):
Don't know, Gordon, I justif you're asking me right now, with
all the information that continues to comein and we're giving it to you as
we see it as it comes into us. We're looking at Aaron Wilson
and others. I just don't thinkthe name we all are looking for happens.
Who's the you put out the reporteron Christian Wilkins earlier? From what
(01:14:36):
Joe shadd who named a couple ofteams. Yeah, and he didn't have
the text. He did not havethe Texans. So Diana Russini's report he
puts out does include the Texans, says Vikings, Browns, Lions and Texans
all considered Christians and target. Sowe'll see the agents are doing what they
do. Now that we are fortytwo minutes into the legal tampering period being
(01:14:56):
started, Texans have not made amove as of yet. We come back,
let's go around the rest of theleague. We have not gotten to
the quarterback position and will continue talkingTexans how these moves are impacting the Texans
directly or indirectly. Michaeln Heights REVKJYou'll be up as we come out and
close out hour two second half thatbeing insaid. When these players, these
(01:15:19):
free agents, they're coming to thecity. Now, whether you got NFL
dollars or whether you are a moremodist man or woman and you're looking for
a place to say, let meadvise you to contact my people over at
JB. Thibodeau Homes and Properties. They are not your average home builder.
Their blueprints are designed to save youtime and money. You can build on
(01:15:41):
your own lot, or you canbuy one from them. They have a
team of experts that will work withyou and coach you through that process.
Right. Duplex bills are priced fromthe two hundreds. Whether you're looking for
investment opportunities or where you're looking forsomewhere smart. Let's do it smart.
If I had it to do again, go in in about JB. Thibodeaux
and his people. I would havehad me at damn duplex built on my
(01:16:03):
way coming to Houston, so Iwouldn't be giving these folks at the Gallery
of the damn Rent every month. That's kicking my butt. I could have
been smart, could have been proven, and could have been saving myself some
money. Bring allow yourself to comeinto the reality that you can be your
own landlord and be someone else's landlordshould you decide to do so. They
(01:16:23):
build all over the city. JB. Thibodeau dot com is where you go
for more details. That's JB.Thibodeau dot Com with yourn next stuff pictures,
Tremble with fear, you let allthe rest hold on comfort, run
over with Northfleet and Gordion. Nextup, belly tremble with hunger. Lunchtime
(01:16:45):
is so close until then shout downon more. Next up. I love
NFL Free Agency so much and thatis a breaking new sounder as it directly
(01:17:09):
impacts the Houston Texans. Why doyou say that? Stand defensive end?
Jonathan Grenard, who had long expressedhis desire to return to the Houston Texans,
he has agreed to a deal withthe Minnesota Vikings. JG has waved
goodbye to the Texans organization and he'sgoing to get some new money from the
(01:17:29):
Minnesota Vikings. I have not seenthe financials as it pertains the Johnathan Gernard
headed to Minnesota. So the Texansdo indeed have a legitimate void at the
defensive end position opposite of Will AndersonJunior. Here we go, John Garnard
will sign a four year, seventysix million dollars deal that includes oh,
forty two million guaranteed with the Vikings. That's a good number for JG as
(01:17:50):
a third round pick. I haveforty two million in guaranteed dollars. That's
a win. Any NFL player thatcomes into this league in the third round
and you get forty plus million guaranteedis a bleeping win. And been in
the league four years and just hadhis fall. Oh my god, sack
here, JG. When you ballout at the right time, somebody's gonna
(01:18:12):
get you. The dose at timewill tell if it was the right decision.
Are we mad at Cassarrio for notmatching that money? No, I'm
not millions twenty million dollars a yearfor Jonathan Garnaud. I can't do that.
What's the franchise tag number for thedefensive end? He was around twenty
million dollars. So Cassario wasn't willingto use the tag and he wasn't willing
to average that out. Two thingscan be true. I'm happy for JG.
(01:18:35):
He is worth that money to Minnesota. I would have loved to see
Jonathan Garnard return, but I amnot mad that Casio didn't use cap money
to pay twenty plus million dollars ayear to keep Jonathan Garnaut. Let's go,
then they sign Who's that They've hada ross blackclock they traded for too
for they must they have something forTexans d Linemen they like to bring in
(01:18:58):
over there in Minnesota right there, but the door opens. Now that means
there Aaron Wilson says, it isfor the replacement of Daniel Hunter. So
that means that means are letting DanielHunter hit free agency. And now the
Texans having a question, do wewant to go spend big for Dane Hunter
the Katie Native to bring him backhome? And again if we're going a
track record. Daniel Hunter has beenway more consistent year in a year out
(01:19:21):
than John gre just a better playerperiod. What I think what I think
the Vikings looking at as going wewere willing to pay big for Daniel Hunter,
but not that big. We geta lesser, a little bit lesser
money for John Grenard, who wethink can be as johnre Gernard's happy.
He's going to Minnesota and he feelsgood that he's been rewarded. The way
(01:19:41):
an organization or a company tells youthey feel about you, Houston is how
they pay you, and Minnesota istelling jhonthre Gernaud, you are valued here.
We don't value as much as wedo Daniel Hunter. But nonetheless also
impacting the Texans indirectly or in thiscase directly, former cal Boys running back
Tony Pollard is off the board. He leaves the Dallas Cowboys to go back
(01:20:04):
to his native Tennessee. He issigning a deal with the Tennessee Titans.
So that is not a second runningback. We know the Texans are in
the market. Tony Pollard gone,DeAndre Swift, He's leaving Philly, He's
headed to Chicago. And now wegotta worry about getting some d lineman who
could slow down Tony Pollard in Tennesseethat part right there, my man,
Michael and the Heights has been holdingfor awhile. Sorry, Michael, we
(01:20:25):
got to get their breaking news hereon free Agency. I'm gonna ask you
to be quick because we got anothercall. I promise kJ he get in
as well before we wrap it up. Go ahead, Michael and Heights.
Hey, dude, today's popping.Man. I don't blame it, but
yeah, Johnson Gernard. I wasgoing to bring that up last break,
but yeah, man, that's that'stoo much money. That guy hasn't been
healthy. Oh and guys, whata good draft pick, right for Nickosarios?
(01:20:46):
He scouted him, right, Imean, let's give credit where credits
due. I mean, he reallyonly had one insane year, but hey,
he got his cash, but goesto the hill hunter. Man,
I think, what was I wantto say, Nick Asario, Why don't
you guys all prepare yourself for himnot to do a damn thing. He's
gonna get all these he's gonna pickup all these guys that have been cut
(01:21:06):
and uh, you know he's gonnatry to play moneyball. We'll play you,
but we ain't gonna pay you.Man. Later there it is Michael
Linna, heights appreciate that. Let'sgrab revkj in here before we wrap it
up. Realkj out in Cyprus. What's the deal? Love it so?
Love it? So man, Ilistened to what I can appreciated. I
canna grow up with y'alls. Withthat said, I think the biggest asset
that we look overlooking going into thenext season. I don't know if you
(01:21:28):
guys have hit it on the jet. I'm I'm hey, let let JG
go for the money you get.But you still got Chase Young available Lenard
Floyd, so they're already decent replacementsfor what he brought to the table.
I think our biggest asset, I'mgonna imagine that this is part of the
Serio's line of thinking going into thenext season, is we don't have to
overpay because our biggest asset is thatnow CJ. Strold has a year under
(01:21:54):
his belt. So you look,if get the timetable adds up and he
becomes a better quarterback than he wasnext year, we don't need to get
a Mike Cabbage. I think weneed to emphasize more on depth at the
wide receiver, then getting the MikeCabbage and we can get like a Tyler
Board or Calvin Ridley as a thirdpotentially starting receiver alongside the two that we
got and help on that offensive lineare gonna be major assets for his team
(01:22:18):
next year. Man, Once again, love is so fillas so to say
what I had to say about that. Appreciate that, my man revkj up
in Cyprus. Thank you for listening. Breaking news Packers are releasing five time
All Pro left tackle David Bartiari aftereleven seasons. Funny that somebody reported that
a few weeks ago that that wasgonna happen, and Baktiari like joked about
(01:22:39):
it. It was like, oh, it ain't happening or something, and
like, okay, and then itdoes. It's real today. It's so
funny today, Like remember last week, Jeff Duncan of The Times Swiking in
New Orleans put out the Saints areexpected to release Michael Thomas, and Michael
Thomas retweets like y'all believe the liesand it's like, dude, they're reporting
