Have you ever looked in the mirror and felt like you didn’t know the person staring back at you? Well here at the Nice 2 Meet U podcast, we are all about inspiring one another to BECOME the BEST VERSION of ourselves by being more self-aware and self-reflective. We celebrate and amplify black voices. You will also hear a little bit of this and that in between. IG: @nice2meetupodcast
In this episode, I am discussing the lessons I have learned over the past few weeks and months. Some of the things I speak about are relinquishing control to God, learning how not to share my dreams with everyone, and having patience. In season 4, episode 8, I am speaking about how to get out of our own way. I am reading the book, "Get Out of Your Own Way" by Mark Goulston, M.D and Philip Goldberg and in this book they talk about helping us to overcome self-defeating behaviors. Sometimes we are so guarded that we put up walls that will not allow others to get in. I am encouraging us to seek out help to tear down those walls so that we do not end up alone.

In season 4, episode 7, I encourage us to build our trust muscle. We will go through things in life that test that muscle or that can stunt that muscle. Sometimes it is abandonment issues and people who were not there for us in the past, so we have built up a wall of protection to avoid getting hurt again. In this episode, I talk about trusting God and also using discernment to let down our guards to trust those people who have goo...
In season 4, episode 6, I reflect on my time since I bought my first house and finished my first year teaching in an elementary school. It's been about two months since I recorded my last episode, so it is time to play catchup. Enjoy!

In season 4, episode 5, I am encouraging us to not live our lives scared. Being comfortable is comfortable, however, I feel that we really start to grow once we allow ourselves to step outside of our comfort zone. Like the footprint poem goes, when we do not see our footprints in the sand, that is when God is carrying us.

In season 4, episode 3, I am sharing my final reflections on 2021. We are going into a new year, but I want us to know that just because the calendar year changes, it doesn't mean that things will automatically shift for us unless we make a conscious effort to shift our mindset. I am thankful to God for how he has blessed me in 2021, and I am looking forward to the next 365 days. Happy New Year!

In season 4, episode 2, I am speaking about projections. Sometimes we project things on others because we would like to see a certain quality in ourselves. For example, the article that I reference, in the episode, talks about a woman named Jasmine: who would like to be more vocally expressive being upset with her friend who speaks her mind. I feel like we all can relate to seeing something in others that we would like to see in ou...

In this episode, I am speaking about when things don't turn out how we hoped or expected. Sometimes we may make a decision, and the results of that decision do not go as planned. Our faith in God reminds us that everything will work out for our good.

In season 3, episode 20, I am encouraging us to just be! To not try and figure it out, to not try to plan it out. I want to encourage us to sit with ourselves and to be in tune with what is going on in our bodies. I want us to feel all the sensations and cravings that are coming up for us. Doing these things will allow us to be fully present with who we are and what we need. In western culture, we are convinced that we need to be o...
In season 3, episode 19, I am speaking about how we go through transitions in life. Making a transition can be positive such as changing careers, having a baby, getting married, or buying a new house. Making a transition can also be negative such as death, an accident, or getting fired from a job. I discuss the stages of making a transition and provide ways to cope with it. I also go over a few quotes from my boy TD Jakes' message,...
In season 3, episode 18, I am tackling the question of do we find sometimes find it hard to accept compliments? Does someone giving you a compliment make you uncomfortable because you have a hard time believing what they are saying? Do you struggle with low self-esteem, cognitive dissonance, or setting high expectations for yourself? If any of this resonates with you, please listen in to this episode as I offer tips to help us move...
In season 3, episode 17, I am breaking down the topics of fate and destiny. Fate is something that unavoidably befalls a person. Destiny is something that is to happen or has happened to a particular person or thing. Fate tends to be the things that are out of our control, while destiny can be altered by our life choices. These words are typically used interchangeably in conversation so listen in as I attempt to decipher the differ...
In season 3, episode 15, I am speaking about why faith is important. Faith gives us the strength to withstand in hopes that something better is around the corner. Having faith is needed to propel us to become the best version of ourselves and to get us to the place we want to be. There will be days we may feel like the not-so-good version of ourselves or the worst version of ourselves, so we need faith to live with the expectation ...
In season 3, episode 14, I am speaking about the TV show David Makes Man. David Makes Man is executively produced by Oprah and Michael B Jordan. It was created by the Academy Award-winning screenwriter Tarell Alvin McCraney, who is known for the movie Moonlight. The show is a coming-of-age story that centers on a teenage prodigy named David who lives in the Projects, Homestead Village, in South Florida but attends a magnet school f...
In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
