Season 2: Episode 14
"She was eating dead spiders and drinking her urine."
Not for the faint of heart. Did you ever hear of the movie "The Exorcism of Emily Rose?" Well, this is about the real young woman that the movie was based from.
By the time 23 year old Annaliese Michel died in 1976, her battered body weighed only 66 pounds. Her kneecaps were broken, the tendons torn. Her sunken black eyes exacerbated by her bloody mouth and broken teeth.
Did Annaliese suffer from temporal lobe epilepsy, causing a psychosis never seen prior? Or was this truly a tale of spiritual warfare, with demons leading to the only treatment known....multiple exorcisms?
Eventually, Annaliese's parents and the priests conducting the ceremonies, found themselves defendant's in this unprecedented murder trial.
So which side of the law....or the church....are you on?
