(00:00):
Today we are looking at running back fantasy points per touch.
Now, the reason this is so important is because last season
this metric told us to draft guys like Devon A Chan, Kyron
Williams, Chase Brown. Now, the reason this is so

(00:24):
important is because last season, this metric told us to
draft guys like Devon A Chan, Kyron Williams, Chase Brown.
I mean, let me take you back here to a couple of my tweets
from last season. So my main take away from last
season running back fantasy points per touch was #1 Devon
freaking A Chan, OK? He was by far the most efficient

(00:45):
fantasy point per touch scorer in 2023. 1.4 PPR fantasy points
per touch. He later went on last season OK
to be the best running back on aper touch basis, even better
than Saquon per game when 2 was healthy.
And again, this is from July 1st2024.
And here we are last year as well.
What's the date on this one here?

(01:07):
Let's see July 31st last year I tweeted Chase Brown finishes as
a top 12 PPR running back. Well, yes, indeed.
In fact, RB three overall in that full time role.
And the reason is because he ranked eighth among all RBS in
fantasy points per touch in 2023.
So what we're going to do now isI'm going to take you through
the metrics for this year and we're going to find out the RBS

(01:29):
who we should be targeting. As always, guys at the end of
the video we will be running through a mock draft just to see
where we can grab these guys in drafts.
OK, I call fantasy points per touch at the RB position the
great equalizer, right? There's a little bit of nuance.
Some guys have more touchdowns, some guys have more receptions,
but that that all becomes obvious in the list.
But really, it's when this player gets the ball right?

(01:52):
What are they going to do with it?
The only thing that matters in our fantasy football matchups
week to week is who is scoring the most fantasy points when
this player has the ball. How many fantasy points are they
scoring per touch? Excuse me?
So let's get into it. OK, now here we are.
I will present to you the list here of the fantasy points per

(02:14):
touch leaders. Now for those of you watching on
YouTube, the full chart is up. OK, we did the top 56 running
backs. That's every running back with
70 or more rush attempts last year.
So these guys rank 1 to 56. All right, this thread is
available at Joe Rico FF and I'll put the link, the link in
the description on X at Joe RicoFF.

(02:34):
All right, I will show you righthere now #1 Jameer Gibbs 1.07,
half PPR points per touch #2 James Cook one point O, four
half PPR points per touch #3 Austin Eckler at 1/2 PPR point
per touch. Those are the only three guys at
one point O or higher. Now I'm just going to take you

(02:56):
through the main takeaways here OK, and I I will also mention
the guys at the bottom of the list right worst on this list
Dante Foreman, 56th overall. 0.37 fantasy points per touch.
Isaiah Pacheco guys, a guy who Iwas in on but this is making me
change a little bit 0.5 fantasy points per touch.
Nick Chubb 54th 0.54 and Travis Etienne guys 53rd 0.55.

(03:21):
I don't love that for my boy. Now the first take away I get
from the list obviously, is Jameer Gibbs.
OK, he can repeat as the PPRRB one overall.
Only Marshall Falk and Priest Holmes have done it OK over the
course of every single game in the season.
And Jameer Gibbs, if you includeWeek 18 last year was the PPRRB
one overall. Saquon was if you include if you

(03:41):
don't include Week 18. Excuse me.
With that being said, like I said, only Falk and Holmes have
repeated. I think Gibbs can do it again.
As I just mentioned, guys LED all running backs. 1.07 fantasy
points per touch here LED every single running back.
This is a this is a major metricto lead in a major major metric
that one point O 7 half PPR points per touch.

(04:02):
That is the same level as a 2023Christian McCaffrey for example.
Close to 400 fantasy points extended over the course of an
entire season with ACMC like workload in 2023.
Believe he finished the season McCaffrey with like 390 fantasy
points, right. If Jameer Gibbs gets a little
more work this year, right, he he surpassed 300 touches last
year. But I'm hearing right now that

(04:22):
the new OC, now that Ben Johnson's gone, is going to run
this offense through Gibbs. Now if Gibbs approaches 350
touches, he will absolutely be the best player in all the
fantasy football. He had just over 300 last year
was the RB one but I'm talking like would be rivaling Jamar
Chase last year if he saw 350 plus touches which you know 40

(04:44):
more touches over the course of an entire year.
It's like a little over 2 touches per game more.
That might be the case. OK as I said LED all running
backs and fantasy points per touch last year.
One point O 7 FPPT matches 2023 McCaffrey new OC is running the
offense through Gibbs. Gibbs is the clear RB2IN drafts
there is no one. It's Bijan van Gibbs for me.

(05:07):
These guys like Saquon, McCaffrey, a Chan Genti, they
are not in the same tier as Bijan and Gibbs.
And honestly, Gibbs should be a top four pick overall.
I really don't see a world wherehe's going outside the top 3B,
Jean, Jamar, Gibbs in any order. All right now, next take away I
have from this list is that Ray Davis could steal James Cook's
job. So Cook ranked actually second

(05:28):
on this list with 1.04 fantasy points per touch.
But the reason is because I mentioned it, kind of alluded to
it before, is because he had 18 total touchdowns.
Guys, touchdowns are not a sticky stat year to year, unless
you're a guy who will mention later in the episode like
Derrick Henry where your whole game is touchdowns, right?
Cook benefited from the amazing offense.

(05:48):
I believe the bill is ranked topthree in total points scored per
game last year. So Cook just benefited from
being in that situation. Ray Davis could go put up 18
touchdowns in this offense. All right, when we equalize for
touchdowns, Davis at 0.82 fantasy points per touch, which
is pretty high on the list. That's 14th overall with only
six total touchdowns. All right, so if we start

(06:11):
equalizing for touchdowns, thereis nothing that is suggesting
that James Cook is that much better than Ray Davis.
So Ray Davis a great sleeper pick at the end of drafts.
Taije Spears is the best Titans running back.
That is the third take away. I have 0.84 fantasy points per
touch. Last year was 12th at the
position and Pollard OK was 49that the position with 0.57

(06:33):
fantasy points per touch. When Taije Spears had that
opportunity, it was during the fantasy playoffs last year.
Nobody started him because why would you, right?
Weeks 15 through 17 per game, 20.7 fantasy points, 16
opportunities and that was only on 61% of the snaps.
He was a top 12 RB in every one of those games.
Only 5 running backs were betterin that span during the playoffs
last year. Jonathan Taylor, Bijan Robinson,

(06:55):
Jamir Gibbs, James Cook. So guys, if Spears gets a little
bit of opportunity, I'm talking like over 50% of the
opportunities, which if he's better per touch in real life,
which he is, he will eventually get.
He is a monster sleeper pick. He's my #1 sleeper, not a deep
sleeper, but a guy that you needto be targeting.
Here is is Taije Spears. All right, next take away from

(07:16):
the list. Derrick Henry is simply not
washed. Now I just need to say that out
loud for my own sake. He's a guy I've been fading in
drafts, but I'm, I'm coming morearound to the idea of Derrick
Henry, OK. And then to a lot of you, you're
going to say, well, that was obvious for me.
It really wasn't. I don't want to get caught
holding the Derrick Henry bag. The 31 however years old he is
45 years old. I don't want to get caught
holding that bag with 9000 career touches, drafting him so

(07:39):
early where I lose. But at this point, I'm honestly
prepared to take him in the second round as an RB-1 for my
team and then bolster him with another RB in the third like a
Chase Brown, a Bruce Hall, Ken Walker, Alvin Kamar in the 4th,
right? Like another good RB2 behind
him. So if Henry goes down we still
have a quote low end RB-1 high end RB2.
Now Henry last year was carried as well by 18 touchdowns.

(08:00):
Kind of like James Cook. The difference between James
Cook and Derrick Henry, well I feel like we all know the the
difference here. 1 is Derrick Henry and one is not Derrick
Henry. There's no reason that Derrick
Henry will not repeat that amount of touchdowns here in
2025. They literally designed the
offense around Lamar running theball in or Derrick Henry running
the ball in or a big play, that sort of touchdown.

(08:22):
Those are like the only three options.
Derrick Henner needs to be studied in a lab guys.
I do have him now again enteringthat top 10 RBS for me, I I'm
consensus lower than consensus on Henry.
Those days are kind of ending. He is my RB-10 right now and
that's just because I have 9 running backs ending with Jacobs
who I think could be RB one overall.
I don't think that Derrick Henrycan be RB one overall just

(08:43):
because of the lack of pass volumes.
OK. And honestly it is hard to score
18 touchdowns even if you're Henry.
Like I'm very anti the idea of just chalking it up the hill, do
it again, but it is very, very realistic.
Don't get me wrong. Don't get me wrong, it's very,
very realistic. If he was 28 years old 2726, he
would be a top three pick in drafts, right?
So we're in on Derrick Henry at his price in the second round as

(09:06):
RB-1 for our squads. All right, next take away here.
Believe this is the final one and then I have some quick
thoughts on the list and then a mock draft.
OK, the Cowboys backfield is wide open here.
Javonte Williams 0.64 fantasy points per touch that was 38th
on this list and Miles Sanders did not hit the 70 attempt
threshold in 2024. OK, both these guys are just

(09:29):
aging veterans. I actually do like Javonte early
in the season, weeks one through6 for example.
If he's going to see 15 plus opportunities per game, I mean
that's going to give you RB2 output.
And that is an unpopular opinion.
I think a combination of drafting Javonte and drafting
Blue on the same fantasy team honestly is a good idea.
Connor reminds me of drafting Rashad White and Bucky Irving or
Leonard Fournet and Rashad Whitea couple years ago.

(09:50):
Right? You always got to be betting on
the more talented rookie, for example, who, when they are
given the opportunity, whenever that is, will outshine the
veterans. OK, so Jayden Blue is the name
here in the Cowboys backfield. Might not be Week 1, might not
be Week six, Week 8, but Week 10, Week 11, Week 12 fantasy
playoffs could be an absolute league winner here.
Now I do have some quick thoughts.

(10:12):
Again, Naji Harris here is on the way out. 0.6 fantasy points
per touch. That was 46th out of 56
qualified R BS with that seventyattempt threshold. 3.9 yards per
carry last year. Third worst among R BS with 200
plus attempts. So it really is only a matter of
time before Marion Hampton who is a proven workhorse from North
Carolina. I mean, I'm talking a three down

(10:33):
monster running back like a prime Joe Mixon type.
OK, only a matter of time beforehe takes over.
This is like the Cowboy situation but just multiplied by
100. Like Harris is is out OK because
a Marion Hampton is that good with first round draft capital.
The team went out and got him. OK Naji might open the season,
but it it will be very obvious who the better running back is

(10:55):
here. I'm all in on a Marion Hampton
in round four. Do not hesitate.
Some more quick thoughts. Zach Charbonnet.
I do think he could be the Seattle RB-1.
When we look at the list here, Charbonnet ranked pretty high.
Ken Walker was 20th. It's not horrible, OK, but
Charbonnet 7th overall. 0.89 fantasy points per touch, and
again, Walker at 20th, 0.78. So not a big difference.

(11:18):
But realistically, when Charbonnet is getting those
opportunities, he's scoring morefantasy points.
Travis Etienne needs Liam Cohen and he needs a new offensive
line. Etienne at 0.5550, third best
among 56 qualified R BS. It's not good at all.
A slap in the face to myself whowho's in on ETN this year.
And it's very obvious when you watch him play that it's just
not working. It's just not looking like 2023.

(11:39):
It's not looking like Clemson, right?
But we'll see. We will see.
I'm hearing good things out of camp.
Austin Eckler yet again, a greatlate round pick, third on this
list. 1.0 fantasy points per touch or fantasy point half PPR
point per touch one. So a lot of that comes from PPR,
his PPR value of just catching passes.
If we did PPR points per touch, he'd be top three again, most

(12:02):
likely top 2. So Eckler going at like 140 in
drafts as your RB4RB5 on your team, it's a very good pick.
And finally, Raheem Mossart stinks.
OK, so Raheem Mossart, he is theonly running back in Las Vegas
who could potentially challenge our boy Ashton Gente for these
touches, for these vacated touches, about 300 vacated
touches in Las Vegas, most of any team in the league, but he

(12:26):
ranks 50th on this list, 0.57 fantasy points per touch.
We'll head over to the mock draft here, guys.
We'll start the draft up as you guys know how this goes.
We'll randomize the order and weget the 12th pick here.
So I'm excited to see what type of value we can find at the
running back position. I'm going to be inclined to go
wide receiver early. Anytime I get a late first round
pick, I'm all over the wide receivers here and we have

(12:47):
Nicole Collins sitting there forus at the 112.
Now I'm talking Malik Neighbors,Brian Thomas, Nico Collins.
You're usually getting one of those guys even if you're 12th
overall in your 12 team league. Now Derek Henry goes to the 111.
So looking at running back here we have a Chan, Gentie,
McCaffrey, Irving and let's justsee what happens guys.
If we go early heavy wide receiver.

(13:08):
I am looking at Brock Bowers. Let me take Brock Bowers, right?
In mock drafts, you got to do things right.
You got to do things you don't always do.
See how the team goes. I mean, you should be running
4510 mock drafts a day real quick and saying I like this
team, I don't like this team. Going into your notes app saying
here's what I liked, here's whatI didn't like, here's the worst
case scenario for my draft, right?
So through two rounds, no running back.

(13:30):
But this episode today is all about running back value picks
now at the 312. I don't love the picks on the
board, fellas. We have James Cook, Ken Walker,
two guys that just told you to possibly avoid Alvin Kamara, Joe
Mixon. Those guys are going to go at
the end of the fourth. So I mean, I'm not loving this.
I'm really not loving these options.

(13:50):
I wish a Kyron photo was a ChaseBrown, right, someone like that,
a true RB one. But let's just keep leaning in.
Let's let's do A0RB draft here we have Marvin Harrison, Devante
Adams, DJ Moore, okay, QB Jalen Hertz is on the board.
Pretty interesting. I'll probably go with Devante
Adams here, the YouTube comments, you guys are just
loving Adams this year, so fair enough.
I will listen. Obviously, we're back on the

(14:12):
clock. We have two picks in a row and
I'll just take Jalen Hertz. Let's just see what we got.
We have an elite QB. We have an elite tight end and
we have two monster wide receivers.
So anytime guys, you're going like a zero wide receiver, A0
RBA hero, RBA hero wide receiver, you got to capitalize
on the elite onesie positions and elite tight end and elite
QB. Otherwise, it's not really worth

(14:32):
it. I mean, sure, you can load up on
one position, but you really have to capitalize on the elite
tight end, elite QB if you're kind of skimping on one position
early. So we're back on the clock at
the 512 and guys, I just realized that my face Cam is
blocking the entire draft board. So let me get rid of that.
Hold on. OK, Now for those of you on

(14:53):
YouTube, you can kind of see here on the 12th, the 12th pick,
we have Collins, Bowers, Adams and Hertz through 4 rounds.
Now, if this was a real draft, Iwouldn't be super hype about
this, but it's not it is. It simply is not OK and we're
back at the 512 and the R BS again.
Pacheco, he was the bottom of that list.
Aaron Jones doesn't excite me. RJ Harvey, maybe Tyrone Tracy,

(15:13):
not really. Tony Pollard.
I mean, we're literally avoidingPollard.
It's tough to see when these guys will be available later on.
I do like Quinch on Judkins herejust at the end of the 5th.
When you're on the end of a round or the beginning of a
round, you get those two picks in a row.
Sometimes you got to reach for your guys.
Let's take a look at wide receiver Xavier worthy Waddle
Pickens. We'll take Pickens here SO0R BS

(15:36):
through the 5th. I do like him.
I do like Pickens there and we will just take Judkins because I
want to lock in just at least one good RB.
So Judkins at six O 1 it's a little early for him, but like I
said, we have 2322 picks till our next pick.
So you really got to be kind of reaching for your guys here with
these starts that you only get 2picks in a row and you don't get

(15:57):
a middle round pick. Now, a guy I'm eyeing on the way
back, hopefully we get a little bit of Caleb Johnson, someone
like that, or Ty J Spears. All right, OK, we're back on the
clock. Swift on the board, Naji Harris,
we're avoiding Brian Robinson isis decent.
We have Caleb Johnson, Travis Etienne.
These are all guys I I really like.
So let's go ahead and grab DeAndre Swift and let's look at

(16:18):
the receivers again. We have Jacoby Myers, We'll take
him. OK, we'll take Myers and Swift
here. Now on the way back, I really
want a Spears. I'd love a Caleb Johnson.
I don't think he makes it. He's definitely going to go off
the board here. ET NS off the board at 809.
Reid Johnson's still on the board, but he will go here.
And really, we are eyeing Taiji Spears.
He is the next RB on the board. I hope he doesn't get taken.

(16:38):
Please don't get taken. Oh my God, nine 10911.
Yes. OK, so Spears makes it back to
us. Spears is going 113th overall
and our RB core now is Judkins, Swift and Spears, and the first
one of them we drafted in the sixth round.
So a quick look at the roster guys.
We have Jalen Hurts, Quinch on Judkins, DeAndre Swift, but then
we have Nico Collins, Devante Adams, Brock Bowers.

(17:00):
I mean that is a top one tight end and a top four QB.
And we have Pickens, Myers and Spears on the bench.
So team's looking good. Obviously at this point we're
just going to be hammering RB value.
So Zach Charbonnet, a guy we mentioned will draft him to the
team and yeah, honestly, maybe another wide receiver in here,
but really it's just going to beall upside.
R BS awesome guys that we talkedabout.

(17:21):
South, just looking at the R BS on the board, Scataboo, Dobbins,
Eckler, Ford, Mason. Jayden Blue was on the board.
He will be. He will be joining the team.
Ray Davis. Let's take a look.
It's coming back to us here at 11:12.
And of course, Scataboo goes thepick before us.
Let me grab an Eckler, OK? And then let me go ahead and
grab a Jayden Blue a little early for those guys, but I'm

(17:42):
just stacking upside here at therunning back position, like with
this wide receiver corps of NicoCollins, Devante Adams, Jacoby
Myers, right, Brock Bowers, OK, Jalen Hertz.
All we need from the running back position is RB3RB2 output.
A guy like Eckler can really just go in and and catch a
couple balls and give us that. And then finally, last pick of
the draft, we don't want best because we'll have literally

(18:05):
every single Vegas pass catcher.Let me take a look here.
Trey Bensons on the board. Dylan Sampson is my #1 sleeper.
Dylan Sampson will join the team.
So here's the full draft board. Not my favorite team, but just
kind of trying to rapid fire a draft for you guys and showing
you the type of RB value that isavailable.
I mean we did not take our firstRB until the 6th round.

(18:26):
Our RBS were Judkins, Swift, Spears, Charbonnay, Eckler,
Blue, Samson. Majority of those guys were
targets from the fantasy points per touch list.
OK, wide receivers are Collins, Adams, Pickens and Myers.
We also have Brock Bowers. I'm realizing now that Bowers
and Myers are on the same team, so potentially not my favorite
thing, but just flying through these, right?

(18:47):
Just flying through these mock drafts, guys.
I hope you enjoyed the video today.
That's going to do it, guys.
