OPENING QUOTE: 16:30 – 17:02
Over the last five years or so, six years and again, I talked a little bit about the biggest
growing segment in our industry is easily the experiential marketing and the corporate
events. By far the biggest growth category in our industry. With that comes a new level
of professionalism. With that comes more dollars. With that comes bigger investments.
And I think with that comes a much bigger opportunity for us in a bunch of different
ways, from the experiences that we're able to offer because technology is getting more
accessible, to the kinds of events that we do and to the strategy that we put into an
event.
SUMMARY:
Welcome to another episode of No More Bad Events. In today’s episode, Scott is joined by
Canadian event strategist and writer, Jason Koop, for an honest and thought-provoking
conversation about the evolving world of events on both sides of the border.
Jason shares his insights on the cultural differences between the U.S. and Canada
when it comes to business risk-taking, and discusses how new U.S. policy changes are
disrupting not just American but also Canadian and international events. They explore
why content strategy is the linchpin of modern events—especially in the rapidly growing
corporate and B2B markets—and they dive deep into the importance of authenticity and
storytelling in content, the shift toward strategic use of micro-influencers, and how
planners can adapt for a new generation of attendees who bring different values,
attention spans, and expectations to the table.
Jason’s optimism for the industry shines through, as he looks to the opportunities
presented by new technologies, virtual events, and the potential for Canada to
strengthen its place as a global meetings destination.
If you’re ready for an episode packed with candid opinions, practical advice, and a dose
of industry optimism, press play and join the conversation!

Boysober
Have you ever wondered what life might be like if you stopped worrying about being wanted, and focused on understanding what you actually want? She went "boysober," a personal concept that sparked a global movement among women looking to prioritize themselves over men. Now, Hope is looking to expand the ways we explore our relationship to relationships. Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.
