Kristina Zontini is the founder of Super Secret Ice Cream, a beloved neighborhood ice cream shop known for its scratch-made flavors and commitment to supporting the local food system.
Recently recognized multiple times by the James Beard Foundation and Best of New Hampshire, Kristina’s shop not only serves exceptional ice cream but also fosters a workplace dedicated to creating happy and sustainable jobs for her community.
Together Kristina and I talk about her winding journey through different jobs like public radio and non profits, to her ice cream beginnings and perfecting the amount of time it took to make a breakfast sandwich in her youth.
Before settling down in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, she and her husband rode bikes through the West after a stint in San Francisco, and eventually made it back to the East to try some new endeavors.
We chat about the beginning days of Super Secret, what our favorite ice cream flavors are, and what it means to be an ice cream shop in a small, tight knit community.
