En este episodio de El Cafecito del Mediodía, abrimos espacio para celebrar el coraje silencioso y la fuerza cotidiana de un grupo de mujeres inmigrantes que han hecho de la ayuda comunitaria un acto de amor y un estilo de vida. Ellas comenzaron como voluntarias, tocando puertas, escuchando historias, cargando información y llevando esperanza. Y aunque nunca lo hicieron para brillar, hoy brillan por la profundidad de su servicio.
Estas mujeres —sencillas, trabajadoras, orgullosas de sus raíces— han acompañado a su comunidad en algunos de los temas más importantes y difíciles de nuestro tiempo: el censo, la salud mental, el cáncer, la vida de los trabajadores temporales y, más recientemente, la crisis de los opioides. Lo han hecho sin miedo, sin recursos propios, muchas veces después de largas jornadas de trabajo y cuidado familiar. Su motor siempre ha sido el servicio.
Hoy, ese espíritu las llevó a dar un siguiente paso: formar MIEL Cooperativa, un proyecto nacido de la necesidad, la solidaridad y la convicción de que la información puede transformar vidas. Son madres, abuelas, trabajadoras, inmigrantes… pero también son lideresas, emprendedoras y constructoras de comunidad.
