think of the Heat is that good of a team because no big stars

Norm Powell last night, though, that's one guy who had a good
game against the Knicks. He put up 38 and he had pretty
efficient shooting from three with 815 as well.
So he's shooting. He's shooting 46% from the

But let's check out the Eastern Conference standings here,
because at the top, everybody isshocked but happy about it.

Eastern Conference. I, I don't know, I think I like
what they we can tell what they did to improve their team from
last year. They just kept this core and
then, you know, they're given more responsibility to Thompson,
you know, whoever they can, these younger guys, and they're
starting to shine, man. Oh yeah, yeah, the Detroit has

improved from last season 'causelast season they were what I
believe the seventh or six seed,and now they're at the top.
Now they're now they're at the top of the Eastern.
So they made a big improvement in those in these past two
seasons because what, two years ago they were at the bottom of
the East. They're at the bottom.

And these two, these that's a quick they redeeming themselves.
Detroiters were deeming themselves this season.
Yeah, I really, I, I like their team overall.
I just like how young and hungerthey are, man.
And. They're yelling.
They got a young core. Kate Cunningham, the Thompson,

they got a they got a lot of guys.
They got a lot of guys. On that team, Jalen Duran, I
really like Duran. So it's I like Duran as well.
If and Jaden Ivey, you know, whenever he's going to be able
to get back because I think isn't he hurt right now.
And Jaden Ivey's I have to checkup on real quick.
Yeah, I think he's out right now.

But Jaden Ivey, he's he's going to be a good part of it.
But then right below them is your boys the Knicks.
It's their eight and four secondin the East right now.
They're right there, though, with the Hawks and Cavs, who and
Bucks, who are all 8:00 and 5:00.
So it's like that slot from 2:00to 5:00.
They're all. From one game foot, one game
difference. Yeah, So what do you what do you
think is going to help the Knicks hopefully pull away this

and, and stay healthy, 'cause now we're out with OG with a
hamstring and there were our Bronson with the, or the grade

Well, I think to like health is the big one that you just
brought up for for the Knicks, It's it's it's all dependent
upon health, because we've seen what Brunson can do in the
playoffs when he's fully healthy.
He's a nightmare to guard. He's a.

Cat playoff riser. He's averaging 30 and on top of
that he has the most fourth quarter points in less games.
And plus, we're also talking about elite defense from
Bridges. You know, Cat stepped it up in
the playoffs, not only on the onhis way out the door from the
Timberwolves, but into the Knicks to get them to the

conference finals last year. So you know, the they have the
pieces to get there. But this early in the season,
who knows? Now the next team I'm not too
sure on still, I haven't seen enough from them to make my full
opinion, but it's the Hawks. They're 8 and 5 right now.
They're on a four-game winning streak.

They have a nice team, Trey, Trey Young, still the
centerpiece basically of this team.
But Porzingis there. I think that's a nice mobile
piece for them. Obviously, if he can stay
healthy, he can also provide a bit a bit a better interior
defense when he needs to. But with all his injuries, I I
it's hard to bet on Porzingis. Yeah, he does still have that

illness afflicting him, unfortunately.
You know, hopefully that's something that gets better along
the line. But until then.
Yeah, 'cause he's hottest since last season.
But, you know, they, they have other nice pieces on their team.
You know, Dyson Daniels is stillthere.
I like him a lot. They got a Rasche.

He's a good, he's a good piece for them.
And us and Noel I like I saw Noel, I think he can be a better
piece for them. But the this team in the long
run, we, we don't really know what they're going to turn into
right, because sometimes the Hawks have comes and searched on

late in the season and been ableto become a higher tier playoff
team with that after All Star break search.
But with this team, I I'm still not sure of them.
I I mean Trey Young I'm unimpressed with when it comes
to being a clutch time player anymore, But maybe this is the
type of team that he needs to bebetter.

Yeah, and my, my thing is with the Hogs, they start the season
off hot and then when it comes to later on the season, they
just, they go, they go down, they they're fighting for a
plain spot. They got to be consistent.
Yeah, and that's a that's a hardthing, it seems for for the last

couple of years for the Hawks tobe doing.
Now the next team on this Eastern Conference list is also
eight and five are the ClevelandCavaliers.
They're they're coming off a loss, but you know, it's still
the same team basically we saw from last year.
Mobley, Mitchell, the same guys,Jared Allen, I, I like this

regular season team, I'll put itthat way.
Yeah, keyword regular season. Yeah, right.
Right now I I like Donovan Mitchell a whole lot, but I
really like this regular season team.
And you know, maybe last year we've seen it before where teams
have to get beat and beat well to finally make a step forward.

And maybe that's their their future.
Especially I like Evan Mobley a lot.
I really like his defense. And now he's been able to shape
his game offensively as well, especially alongside Jared
Allen. That's some good long ball.
But then Lonzo Ball has been a great off the bench piece so far
for them. So this production, passing the
Rackles, facing the floor, playing defense, she's doing

everything that he can for the team.
Yeah, I I'm Alonzo fans. He you know, it's been it's been
tragic what's happened to him with his injuries and physical
ailments and now to see him be an integral part off of a off
the bench player with a good team.
This is we've seen what this team can be.
We saw them do great things in the regular season last year.

(09:58):
So you know they DeAndre Hunter also, he's playing way better
than above his tier last year. So this maybe that's the piece,
maybe that's what's going to push them ahead.
But until then I I'm interested to see if they can overcome the
team leapfrog the teams ahead ofthem beating.
The Knicks of Pistons, I just want to see, like I understand

the Cavs are great regular season team, but playoffs is
when it matters. Playoffs make legends.
That's when legends are made. You have to show up in the
playoffs 'cause ever since Donovan Mitchell has got there,
he's got went there like what hegot there 2022-2023.
Yeah. And ever since he's been there,

they're either a first round exit or a second round exit.
They can't get, they can't get to the conference final.
You have to get to the conference final.
And last year they were the first, they were the first seed
in the East. They're the first seed.
And they lost to what Indiana was, I believe, the sixth seed.
Seventh seed. Yeah, I believe last year that

they lost to the Pacers in the semifinals and if I if I
remember they got waxed too. It was like 4-1.
Yeah, gentleman sweep. Yeah, it was.

A tough, tough pill for them to swallow.
I understand the injuries for them with Garland getting
Garland being hurt, Allen being hurt and Mobley and Donna

Mitchell was like a one man armyout there trying to trying to do
his best, trying to do his best,but he just couldn't pull it off
by himself. It's a team sport.
Yeah, and the last thing we're going to talk about here is the
8 and five Milwaukee Bucks. They're coming off a win right
now. The Milwaukee Bucks are in that
tier just the same. You know, Hawks, Cavaliers,

Bucks and the box really we've seen the last couple years that
in the playoffs outside of Giannis, ever since they broke
up that cord, that little bit ofcord they had since they won the
championship. But Drew Middleton, it's just
they've been in, they've been aneasy team to plan against to get
them out of the playoffs. Giannis the Superman or not, he

you know they can still shut himdown, especially when he's the
main focal point. You know, Kyle Kuzma is still
there, but and so is Bobby Portis junior, but another year
older for Bobby Portis junior. He's clearly shown signs of
slowing down in my opinion, but.Yeah, he's he's and he's not the
same player from the the 2021 run.

He's not that same player he was'cause he was effective during
that whole playoff run. Effective.
He was the reason, I'd say he was one of the reasons why they
made the finals in and one that came back 2O.

did get Miles Turner to try and I, I guess create some spacing,
more big man spacing because Miles Turner is really not the
type of player. I think would change and he's

this is going to end up looking like.

everybody had been throwing Giannis his name out there for
possible trades. If it's didn't go well this
season, it's too early to tell. You know, the Bucks are in a
good position right now. So we'll see when it gets closer
to the trade deadline what's really going to happen.

all these guys play. This is a true.
Team and they're doing this without J Dog.

And AJ Mitchell stepping up in his place, if you notice to the
rookie, I just this team seems to find great players to step in
whenever they need it. You know, whether it's intense
defense, whether it's, you know,OK, J Dubs out Mitchell, you
need to step up and provide somescoring as well.

They they're on a tear on on their own in the Western
Conference right now. Nobody can touch him.

I'll say the only team that could beat them is Denver.

And Denver's second in the conference right now, 9:00 and

streak and Denver is also benefiting right now from some

Johnson, of course, you know, and I don't.
Jonas Valanciunas has got to be the best addition for them to
give Yokich that rest that he needs to go late in game.
So far this year, the Nuggets have done a good job of letting
Yokich not come in in the fourthquarter and having him sit for

like maybe the 1st 4 to 6 minutes while Valanciunas is in
there doing a great job. Yeah, get you on like 10 to give
you 101015 points, like a ton ofrebounds or double, double with
three sets forces. He's doing he's he's not getting
younger. He's not getting younger.

I, I think they're going to be the ones hopefully that contend
with the Thunder cause the next team are the Houston Rockets.

I still think Kevin Durant looksa little bit odd in this

attention to. Yeah, he's getting his 20 plus

switched over to how e-mail likes to coach, you know?

It's his first season with the team.
He still new KD will get you like 2023 a game.
But my thing is with KD him in the in the later minutes of the

game is he's iffy. It's a little iffy for me.

right, he's been, he's been a little tough to to watch in the
late, late parts of these games.I think too, maybe he's more
realizing that this team really is, you know, Tari Eason's team

And he's kind of maybe just the,the guy who's just coming in,
you know, not he's, maybe he's. Veteran.
Yeah, and that's fine because, you know, like we said, he's
going to get you 22 points, 25 points a game minimum so far.
So, you know, that's he's. And then, of course, when he

gets in one of those games wherehe's just going to be shooting
from all over and now in every which way, that'll be great for
them. That'll ease off on some of the
defensive hardships that maybe they have to take on.
Especially, especially in the playoffs.
Especially in the playoffs. So our next team though, I know
we were talking about them yesterday, you and I personally,

the Lakers, nine and four Lakersso far this year sitting at 4th
in the Western Conference. Obviously Luca and Reeves, we
talked about how they've been able to take this team over and
look great. And LeBron is due to come back
on Tuesday from what everything is being reported.
So he'll be able to, we'll be able to get some look at how he

is going to be implemented into this line up.
What do you think they're going to do with LeBron when he gets
back? Honestly, I feel like my thing
is with LeBron, like during his time in Cleveland, in Miami, and

performing admirable so far. He has been doing a decent job

the pressure of this team and you know, I like don't connect
as well. No, I like don't.

I think they found a piece in him for the future.
You know, he's, I think he's going to fit in well with Luca
and them going down the line and.
The thing and the thing was Lucais I believe it was a 2024
season, 2024 season when he brought them to the finals.
He made Derek Lively and Daniel Gaffer look like a top 10

centre. Yeah.
He made them like a top 10 centre.
Yeah, he did. And I just think right now with
what the Lakers are doing and then LeBron coming in, I think
maybe, you know, it's going to be one of those weird couple
maybe first games where he's figuring out his role.
But you know, there's there's something to be said.

LeBron can adapt to any role really.
He is obviously LeBron James. It's just we'll see how this
goes on with it. This is Lucas team and Austin
Reeves team, so we'll see how that goes.
Lastly in the West is number 5 for us.
We're only covering the top fivethis week is Timberwolves.

Timberwolves sitting at 8:00 and4:00 and actually the Spurs are
tied with them so we could do a quick one on both of them since
they're really tied. But Timberwolves right now are
sitting there at 8:00 and 4:00 coming off a four-game winning
streak. We know who they are.
They it's it's our boy. It's our big boy, Anthony
Edwards. He's the main attraction there.

Julius Randall, of course, is still putting it in.
Dante D Vicenzo, What do you think about this team this year
so far? What do you see?
If I'm being honest, I really haven't been watching the
Timberwolves this season. I haven't been watching
Timberwolves this season, so I really can't tell you.
But as of I know Anthony Edwardshas made a big improvement.

He's made a big improvement, I give you that because you
remember last season how I was. I was feeling a little bit right
by him not being clutch, but I'mnot being being able to pass on
the double team. It's true.
Improved on that. I give him that.
But it's regular season. We're going to see what he's

going to do in the playoffs. Yeah, for me, I watched the game
last night because I'm like you,I haven't seen a lot of
Timberwolves game. So because I'm on the East Coast
here just like you are. So I got to see last night's
game with the Kings. And now mind you, it's the
Kings. You know, they're they're 3 and
10 right now. And I'm not going to, I'm not
going to dish on the Kings because that's the GM who's put

that team together. So, but you know, Anthony, he,
he had 30, you know, and then you have Randall coming in with
26, you know, and even the Vincenzo, he's coming in with
20. So it looks like from my eyes
last night, they're spreading the ball around a little bit
better. You know, even with Nazreed
coming off the bench to get his 12.

And we know Nazreed is more of adefensive threat there 'cause he
had two blocks, 2 steals. He's a he's a two way stretch.
Yeah, I I like Nas Reed a lot. Now, the one thing that I don't
like and I will never like is I don't like Rudy Gobert and.
I feel the same exact way. Yep, feel the same exact way.
I don't like Rudy. I mean, he plays a nice

defensive game, I guess. You know, he does get blocks.
He will get you blocks and rebounds.
But he, we've seen Rudy Gobert in the play offs, we've already
seen it. We already know what it looks
like and it's not changed as he's getting older.
And he had one good game last season in the play offs, one
good game 30. Yep.
And so we like you and I said it's way too early right now.

This team obviously might change, You know, maybe they'll
get better in the ways that we're talking about.
But right now I just I am not impressed.
And lastly, I think we could, wecan't touch real quick on the
Western Conference about the Spurs there.
It's it's been nice to see that man.
It's been nice to see the Spurs kind of come back into
competition with big Victoria when the Yama last night was a

great game between them and the Warriors as well.
I don't know if you caught it was.
A neck and that game it was going neck and neck with the
with the block that with the block that won't be had late
minute in the in the late seconds.

The Spurs won last night. No no, Warriors won it in the

interesting team right now because they're they're young,
but they also have a lot of mental mistakes.
It seems like it late in the airin the games where you know,
they're not given the the main attraction, the ball late later
in the games as much as they should.
Last night seemed to be a littlebit part of that.
But Wendy, I don't see how he isnot going to be defensive player

of the year if he keeps playing the way he is.
How many how many blocks is he averaging this season?
3. 3 1/2. Let me pull up the numbers right
last night he had three so last night he had three blocks.
As of right now, he is the leader in the block category in

all of the NBA and he is averaging 3.6.
He has a total 43 blocks this season just in he's on an
incredible pace. It's it's good to see him.
Also, he bulked up and he looks bigger and he looks like he's
ready to take all the punishmentthat this leak.

have you really liked this year so far?

But but VJ has been putting on the clinic lately on the both
sides of the ball, on offensive side and on the defensive side.

He's cooled off the last couple games, but I he's the biggest
pleasant surprise that I did notexpect for this so far.
So I like it. I like what I'm seeing.
And then who else are you looking at besides we are you

looking at so far out of the rookies?

I really like Khan. I think that team is their
surprising team, man. I I don't think they're going to
do anything, obviously, because that's how Charlotte is.
They're just not a team to take seriously really until until
they show they're going to be serious.

like Khan, Canoopa more involvedin there, that's a team that

Brandon Johnson, they still haveLamello Ball.

together. They're a good young squad.
They're they're on the up and coming.
Yeah. And then the last rookie I think
I like a lot is from the Pelicans, Jeremiah Fierce.

seasons of inconsistency. I think also, we have to admit

given all the circumstances and it'll be interesting to see how
his progression moves on with a new coaching change.

I'll start with the MVP. Me personally, I, it's me I
believe is between using these three players, Giannis Jokic and

that's yeah, it's between those 3, but I don't know who to pick
'cause they are bowling out thisseason.
All three of those guys in the game, in the game that that
Jokic had 50 something with 23 shots.
To get out of here, right? Oh my gosh, yeah.

The fact that you could put up 50 some I think yeah, like 53 or
56 or something like that or 23 shots attempted on a + 21 on top
of that triple double like that mean it's something else.

But I feel like it's probably going to go to, I'll say Jokic.
I I really think Yokic is going to win everything this year.
So the only wild card for me is if the Lakers do well and Luka
