O. What's up, What's up, what's up,
(01:03):
What's up? None.
Welcome to the Pittsburgh Steelers edition of the Not Move
podcast. It's the big dog coach.
Come with my partner, the dog face gremlin.
All right, listen, we going to get we going to get right into
this man. We know we've been away for a
minute. You know, we, we, we, we missed
(01:23):
a couple of segments, you know, I mean due to some personal
reasons, but we back now, right we back we're going to give
y'all all all the Pittsburgh fans, all the football fans when
they need to know about the Pittsburgh's till we going to
give y'all a little something something.
So we going to jump right into it.
We going to recap last week realquick.
Last week was debacle, right? You know, it's, it's, it's
(01:48):
becoming, it is, it's starting to become a trend with Mike
Tommy's teams being able to playlights out one week and then the
next week come in and playing subpar.
Not being able to put 2, not being to sustain 2 dominant
weeks in a row. You know what I mean?
This has been a Mike Tomlin trend.
(02:09):
This has been a Mike Tomlin thing.
Along with collapsing at the endof the season.
It has been a Mike Tomlin thing. You know what I mean?
I don't this is this is one reason why me personally, I want
him out of Pittsburgh. I've wanted him out of
Pittsburgh for probably 9 or 10 years now.
This is no secret. But yeah, last week our defense
(02:32):
was on the field almost a full quarter more than our offense,
almost a full quarter. I think it was something like 37
minutes to 22 minutes of time ofpossession, almost a full
quarter. Our defense is on the field
more. It's only but so much a defense
can do when they're on the field45 minutes of an hour game, it
(03:00):
doesn't make any sense. It just doesn't make any sense
what you got to say about that grill.
So yeah, that's one thing we were looking at off camera here
and we were discussing is just the time of possession in
general for the Steelers was atrocious last game for the
offense. You know, they only totaled 22
minutes of possession throughoutthe game to the Chargers, 37
minutes. So the Chargers basically got a
(03:21):
whole half and then some of possession, you know, the
Steelers longest drive ended up in a missed field goal.
That was in the first quarter when they had held the ball for
5 minutes, ended up being a missed field goal.
The Chargers several occasions, you know, you look at their
drives, they're they're even their punt drives are going 3
minutes. They're still holding the ball
(03:42):
for three minutes before they got a punt.
You know, and one big thing for this is our offense look scared.
That's the first game I can really point to in this season
so far where it was Aaron Rodgers who looked scared.
It was even, you know, that leftside of the line that against a
mediocre Chargers rush. I'm not going to sugarcoat it.
(04:03):
The Chargers are not that good of a defense in general.
This this is a team that we should have had well in hand at
least been competitive. You know, yeah, they're 4th
overall in total defense, but you know, the Chargers are easy
to run against. They're 13th, you know, and then
even in the scoring, I mean, even in red zone, you know, they
(04:24):
may be third, but the Steelers had an opportunity with injuries
on the Chargers to take it to them.
And they just look like they were I'll equipped.
I mean, as soon as the safety happened, it was you could see
the dominoes just all fall straight from there.
You knew that. This is just like you said, one
of those Mike Tomlin under coached prime time games.
(04:45):
One of those games where I don'tknow if he thinks the allure of
the Steelers and the the lore from this team, the black and
gold is what makes them win. It seems like that's all he
relies on, right? Coach man.
Listen. His lack of preparation, his
lack of game preparation for theweek, it shows.
(05:06):
It shows. It shows in our performances.
Right. It shows in the performances, it
shows in the play calls. I mean you have bookend
replacements and tackle on defense and it took them into
the 4th possession of the of thecharges to run a stunt.
(05:28):
You didn't challenge the tacklesat all.
You didn't challenge them at all.
You let them be comfortable the whole game.
You gave them nothing to look. You gave them nothing to to
scratch their heads about, no type of scheme to to to confuse
them for blocking his eye, No twist right, No delays, nothing
(05:49):
for them to be like, oh, I got to look out.
You gave them nothing. You allowed them to just sit
there and just play, basically. A high school football scheme
was though your Ed Rogers just came up there.
The Ed Rogers, the Ed Rogers just just right now.
That was it. That was it.
There was there was nothing thatwas it.
(06:12):
You know, T JS getting chipped and double team like you notice,
right, You you didn't you didn'tloop him around.
You know what I mean? You didn't loop him around.
Have have have Harmon or or Hayward come around the other
nothing. You didn't do nothing.
I mean, like, This is why I put all the blame on my Tommy dog,
(06:33):
because you hired these coaches, you hired these coordinators.
Yes, Sir. You have carte blanche on who's
on your sideline and you keep hiring like this.
Listen, and I'll never forget this.
You fire Bruce Arians, you hire Mack Canada like no, it is like
(06:54):
like like this. I just, I just don't have no
other word for you. We have Blind Flores.
On our staff, because you hired him after he was released from
Miami, you hired him for the rest of the season.
You had him on your staff. You let him go when you hired
Terrell Austin like this. These are the things like these
(07:15):
are the things I, I can't ignore.
You can't ignore these things, right?
And coach, there's one thing that happened last week that I
think might be finally a good thing out of this loss.
An unidentified player has a video that got leaked of him
yelling and criticizing Mike Tomlin.
A finally poor leadership questioning even his football
(07:36):
knowledge. You know, it's finally starting
to seep down into the ranks. It's finally starting to get its
way through the soil and start to grow and germinate, right?
These players are finally realizing that this guy's
leadership has reached its limit.
He has gotten too comfortable, like you're saying, hiring the
wrong people for the roles, almost in a dismissive way.
(07:59):
If you think about it when you're hiring some of these guys
into their roles, the only one Iwill say is, you know, Art
Smith, they went out and grabbedbecause he was really the only
one that they could grab at thattime.
And I don't like the hiring, butthat was the only real good to
midway offensive coordinator that they really but but but.
But. But, but, but Terrell Austin is
(08:20):
inexcusable. But remember Grim.
But remember Grim. They was remember Grim.
They were looking for the enemy.True, but the.
Enemy was out there. B enemy and and there was
another report saying B Enemy didn't want to come to
Pittsburgh. Yeah, I'm about to say yes.
Yeah, because listen and and hey, look and like I listen, I,
(08:44):
I, I brought this up before by Mike Newcheck, our line coach
that said he left because he wanted to be with his family in
Denver. He want to have family issues,
want to be closer to his family in Denver, Co.
Yeah, but why is it that you areconsulted in LA for the rings?
I'm just, hey, I'm just trying to figure this out.
(09:04):
No, I'm just trying to figure itout.
Yeah, and and, and back to the game, too, like with this
leadership being in question. I mean, it's you're starting to
see, and I know Rogers had a badgame last week.
We can all point to it and really finally criticize him.
It's probably his worst game he's had in the Steelers uniform
thus far. You know, but to be fair,
(09:27):
there's not a lot you can do when your offense isn't moving
the ball. You know you're only going to
get so much time, but it's seeped down into these ranks
where you're seeing guys, even Hayward after the game, voicing
frustration with leadership. You're seeing TJ Watt voicing
vague and veiled frustration with leadership.
These guys aren't coming out andsaying it because their locker
(09:49):
room leaders, but they're kind of coming out and saying it
without having the words directly fall out.
Of their mouth between. The lines, you know exactly what
they're saying. Yeah, so it it it really is
boiling over. And you know, it's something
though that happens afterwards, of course, is Rooney come out
and said, you know, our future is is not going to not have Mike
(10:11):
Tomlin. He came out and said that I
guess two days after the game where he thinks Mike Tomlin is
in integral part for the growth of this team to get back to
contending for Super Bowls or even just getting a playoff win.
And I'm really just hoping he said that because it's the
middle of the season. That's the only reason that
because there we know they're not going to fire a coach in the
(10:33):
middle of the season. The Steelers do not do that type
of firing. They wait either until the end
of the season or the end of 10 seasons without a playoff win.
So we, we don't, we, I, I fully expect him to be here next year
simply because he got the extension.
But his leadership ways are not working.
It's finally boiling over and I hope it keeps boiling over until
(10:54):
the end of the season. And honestly, if it takes this
team to go 7 and 10 for that message to be received, then
this team needs to go 7 and 10. Yeah.
Hey, listen, I listen. I am way ahead of you.
Listen, I've been saying when, when, when the wiggly were one
and five, everybody's like, oh, well, you're still about to walk
(11:15):
away with the division. And I said, and I said you too,
what, what what Steelers? I'm like, have y'all not have
y'all not have y'all not watchedthe Steelers these these last
7-8, nine years? Have y'all not.
Watched them? Have y'all not watched them
collapse? I mean, are we forgetting we
finished 2020 eleven and five and started 11 and Oh well, we.
(11:42):
Are we not forgetting last year we were nine and three, finished
ten and seven? Like are we, are we forgetting
these things? No.
He collapses at the end of the season are that's the one
consistency that Talman has brought is our collapse at the
end of the season. Yeah, it's it's it's really,
(12:07):
it's really interesting if you just go back these last couple
years just looking like you saidit, everything right last year,
what did we do? We lost the last four games of
the season and then lost the playoff game.
You know, 2023 yes, they won thelast three games of the season,
but they also have lost the previous three before that and
lost to the Buffalo Bills in theplayoffs. 2022 you're looking
(12:30):
at, Yeah, they, they won those last games, but that they went
nine and eight that year, finished third in the North and
didn't even make the playoffs, you know, 2021, same thing.
They're just so inconsistent at the end of the season when they
need to come on strong. You know, right now, you know,
the Chargers, we, we lose that game 25 to 10.
(12:52):
Steelers are still sitting atop the NFC, the AFC North at 5:00
and 4:00. But today's game between
Baltimore and Cleveland can change all that.
And the Steelers and Bengals, today's games can change that
completely. With the Steelers loss and
Baltimore win, they're even for the division right then and
there. And with the Bengals getting to
win, if they do win today, they're four and six and they're
(13:13):
starting to come right up behind.
Like we said, if Steelers didn'tput the wins away that they
needed to put a put the wins away like the Chargers.
Yes, the Chargers have been a decent team this year.
They are in competition to win that division with the Broncos
as of right now on paper, you know, but that's a game the
Steelers had, they could have won, they should have won, and
(13:35):
that would have put them in a much better spot in the AFC
North. Now, like everyone said, Lamar's
back. He's starting to lead that
offense. We saw it last week.
You know, Joe Flacco, if he's playing today against the
Steelers on the Bengals, we could see another 3331 loss if
they're not playing their cards right.
This, this today is a very important, important day in the
(13:57):
AFC North, no. Absolutely, absolutely.
And I said this last week that that game last week against the
Chargers, that was a huge game because of playoff implications
as far as head to And then when it came down to it, it would it
would've came down to it. Let's just say, let's just say
(14:18):
we finished the same record as the Chargers, right?
We finished with the same record.
Let's say Ravens come back winning division, but we
finished with the same record asthe Chargers.
Now we get bumped out because they automatically only had
that. That's why I was so important.
Like that game, right? There was a huge that that had
huge, it had huge implications on whether or not the AFC North
(14:42):
would send two teams to the playoffs or the AFC West sending
three teams. You know what I mean?
Because of their head to Typical Mike Thomas style
(15:08):
Pittsburgh football. Against the team that we're
picked to lose against and as opposed to dog walkers we
prepare for, we have a good gameplan, prepare for them during
the week properly and then we goout there, we compete.
We are, we either really competeand it's a good game or we win.
And then here comes the team that we're really match up wise
(15:31):
are supposed to be we're supposed to win this game.
OK, with the way the defense wasplaying, with the with the
injuries to the charges offensive line, we're supposed
to win this game. What do we do?
We shouldn't have. Been now here we are today.
Now with Cincinnati, here we aretoday.
Now with Cincinnati. We're supposed to win this game.
(15:53):
Let's see what happens because I'm going to be honest with you,
dawg, and I said it. I don't have no faith in anybody
that has a headset on and still with apparel on the sideline.
I just don't get no confidence in you.
I don't have no confidence in you.
I don't like how you game plan. I don't like how you prepare our
team. I don't like the end game
adjustments you do. Because a lot of times you don't
(16:15):
even make no end game adjustments.
A lot of times, like Graham, howmany times do we have to sit
back and watch our defensive line just go straight?
No stunts, no twist, no nothing. No, no, no and.
How many how many times do we have to watch T have to watch TJ
Watt not contain the edge? Yo, that third down conversion
(16:40):
when Weston A ran right past him.
Herbert ran right but right. He ran right inside of TJ.
Right there, like what are we paying you for if you're not
going to do the job that you're supposed to do?
I get yes, sack machine. Let's let's glorify the sacks,
especially when they're on firstor second down, not when it
matters on 3rd down. You know, he's supposed to
(17:01):
contain the edge and he's letting guys right run outside
or right inside of them, just like you're Speaking of with the
last game. What what's going on here?
I mean, you can't let frustration boil over so much
that you forget the the point ofyour position.
Yeah, for real. I mean for real.
I mean, listen, and I tell people this all the time, A edge
rusher's job is to contain the outside, seal the edge.
(17:26):
Squeeze down on the. Sea gap make everything bounce
out to you. OK, you stretch it out whatever.
Sacks are a bonus. Sacks are a bonus.
Your primary objective is to seal the edge, contain the
outside. That is your primary objective.
(17:49):
We get caught up in these sets and we forget the we forget
these guys primary fucking objective in positions because
you got to remember when that position was designed.
When football they weren't passing the ball.
So I don't care about no sacks. The primary objective is to
(18:10):
contain and seal the edge in which we are not doing.
No and and where. The hell is the law about where
the hell is Queen at? That's going to be filling that
gap anywhere. Queen is getting beat and
secondary blocking, second stageblocking like like I've never
(18:31):
seen before. Last year it didn't seem he was
this bad. You know, we thought last year
was a down year for him. This year he's just getting
absolutely manhandled. And 2nd, as soon as those guards
or tackles are coming up in the second stage to take care and
even a running backs, even the lead blocking backs, he is
getting manhandled. And here's another problem.
It's not just him, it's not justhim either.
(18:54):
You know, I'm actually kind of glad Highsmith is out today for
the simple fact that when we seeHerbig and in his position,
Herbig seems like he's been doing a lot better job than
Highsmith. So I'm interested to see
Highsmith sit out today, get rested up, no problem.
Herbig's going to come in, I hope, and do a better job.
(19:14):
He seems to be the one that should have been in this role
this whole time because whether it's a Highsmith injury or
Highsmith mistake, he is not consistent enough for my liking
to be at that point part of the defense.
But you know what? Another guy today who's out,
which I'm very glad Darius Slay is out because he has been
absolute garbage on the corner this year.
(19:37):
I can't count the number of times I go back and watch a
replay and watch him give up on coverage on a one-on-one against
the receiver or even not even goafter the tackle after they've
caught the ball. Just does a light little push or
a light little slap to get he is.
I was questionable about his signing in the offseason given
the injury history and now I I just feel absolutely justified
(19:58):
in questioning it just from watching his lack of coverage.
Yeah, and then they go and sign Asante Samuel Junior to the
practice squad. Yeah.
So we are. No, we know.
We know about his injury. It took him all this time to
even get medically cleared, evenbe signed.
Yep. You know what I mean?
So again, here we go. Making moves for players that
(20:24):
are even question that are either questionable or past
their time. Like it's just like, listen, the
the Omar Khan experiment, get rid of them.
I'm, I'm, I'm pretty, I'm kind of done with him too, right,
'cause you went out and you got a bunch of brand name T-shirts.
(20:44):
You know, you, you paid extra money because of the, because of
the label, because the emblem onthe T-shirt, when really it's
just a corner store T-shirt. It's a $10 T-shirt, but you
wouldn't pay $3540 for it because it had a polo horse on
it. All we paid for was names.
We paid for names. We didn't pay for production.
(21:06):
We didn't go out and get guys because they had lights out
seasons last year. We went and paid guys, called
their name or was purely their name or what they had done in
previous years. Not all what they did last year,
not all was something they did and in the off season off of a
(21:28):
purely what they did years ago on other teams.
Is what we saw dog? Like I said, it was like going
to, it was like going to Marshalls.
And like I said, you got T-shirts on this that got no,
that got no, they got no, they got no emblem on them.
So you know, these teachers are $10 and then you go over here
(21:50):
and you got these T-shirts. These T-shirts got swoops and
polo horses and shit like that on, on, on the T-shirt.
And these T-shirts are $35.00. So you know what?
Because they got the emblem on them.
We're going to go buy these T-shirts.
That's what they did. They paid for a bunch of goddamn
men, a bunch of emblems. That's what they paid for.
Because I haven't listened. And I will say, all right,
(22:18):
Rodgers hasn't been on target ashe has in the past.
That's we, we already knew that was going to happen anyway.
He's 41 years old where we knew that his his accuracy wasn't
going to be all there. But at the same time, DK Doll,
you got to give me more. No, I know you're getting
overthrown, but don't listen. I saw you walk down that dude in
(22:40):
Arizona. You tell me you can't turn into
another gear and chase down the ball.
You're tracking is hard. Yeah.
The ball's not thrown right to you.
You don't want to get it. Yeah, DK is really confounding
to me and our our our buddy who's a big Seattle fan.
Moss. Much love to you, Moss, he told
(23:03):
us straight. My.
Boy in boot camp in the Navy. Yeah, much love to you, Moss.
We can't wait to see you when you get back out.
You know, he told us, yes, he's got speed, but he just doesn't
want to go up and get the ball and look at it, you know, unless
it's a perfect pass in D KS basket there.
He really hasn't done a whole lot to try and jump up for some
(23:24):
of those balls. You know, all those muscles.
You figured that he would want to go ahead and flex and show us
some of that physicality, especially with how hard he
works out and how hard he works out in the offseason.
And and one thing that I I'm really worried about is how long
is it going to be until Jalen Warren just finally is to beat
up to run the ball? He is our number one offensive
(23:45):
producer really throughout this whole part of the season.
You know, last week he was the number one guy, 70 rushing
yards, but which obviously was not enough.
You know, we're going to keep. We got to we got to keep relying
on him so much even in the passing game and he's just going
to break down. You know, I don't think Jalen
(24:05):
Warren even pictured that he wasgoing to be heavily featured so
much given that, you know, they drafted Johnson for these
purposes that they're not using them for for 3rd down back.
You know, well, let's put him onthe kickoff where he's never
done anything before. They're not utilizing Johnson.
Gainwell, you know, even though he'll get in for a couple
spurts, is still this this offense confounds me, the
(24:29):
defensive calls confound me. And you know, today against a
highly potent offense from the Bengals, you know, last week
they they lost, but they scored 42 points the week before that.
And that's how they get they hadtwo weeks to prepare for us,
too. Yeah, yeah, they've had a bye
(24:50):
week to watch the Steelers get ruined and ruin themselves
against the Chargers. And so then they have the extra
week to run over even the game film of when they beat us
earlier in the season, 3130 thirty, 3031.
You know, they put up even before the Bears, they put up 39
or 38 points on The Jets lost. You know, there it's this
(25:11):
Bengals team can put up firepower.
And if that happens today, I could see another Steelers 28 to
30 loss or even another 33 to 31.
It's it's, it's they can't play consistently.
The defense, Terrell Austin refuses to to try and mix things
up. It's all just zone coverage.
(25:31):
Let's use Ramsey as the nickelback straight bull rush.
No, I just and. I'll tell you one thing, I want
to see if he puts Joey Porter junior on Higgins to jam him at
the line to slow down them quickslants and all that stuff that
they did that that they did in the in the previous week.
(25:54):
Because if you keep sending him,if you keep having him play off
right, if he keeps playing off and he has to keep telling these
guys down field, y'all know he'snot patient.
You know he's handsy. You know he's physical and
what's going to happen, PIPI, what they have, what they, I
(26:19):
think between him and Reyes whenthey have four or five beyond
the first time. Something like that.
He definitely, he got called quite a few times.
They he got picked on a lot in that first game.
Joey Porter junior got picked oncompletely in that game, you
know, and they, that was the game.
Also, if you remember, they threw straight, what was it,
three straight 10 yard outs in arow where Jamar Chase beat
(26:41):
Ramsey three straight times in arow.
It was the same route 3 times right in a row with Ramsey,
one-on-one with Chase and he gotbeat all three times in a row.
So. And and then to seal the game
with the fade, to seal the game with the fade.
When, when, when, when the when he slayed when.
Higgins slayed inside the fire to just keep the field goal to
(27:01):
win the game. Yeah, it it This game does not
bode well. You know, a lot of experts out
there are picking the Steelers to come back and win just
because they're at home. One thing I do want to point
out, field conditions might be rough today.
Pitt, Notre Dame played at Ackershire yesterday.
So we're probably going to see some new sod rolled out in the
middle because that's where mostof the focus is.
(27:24):
Whether or not that has an effect on the game.
It does need to be noted becausein the past, so far this year,
there have been complaints from both teams that play when it's
the Steelers and an opponent if there has been a game beforehand
because the fields just not up to NFL standards.
So. I'll be honest with you and and
because they share the stadium on the week that we have a home
(27:47):
game, Pitt should not be there. No, Pitt.
Pitt. That's a whole different
conversation, obviously, becausePitt is the one who actually
ruined their own. They're they, they wanted to
tear down that field and build up that Olympic.
Their athletic director was all involved in that Olympic
building. But now you know.
This is if you've noticed the entire time Pitts been playing
(28:08):
at Heinz slash Accresher, the field has been terrible.
When they anytime they play in the same weekend, it's always
been terrible. Luckily the sun is out in
Pittsburgh today. It's going to be a little bit
overcast. Sunny day should be around 40°.
Little windy, too. It's going to.
Be a little windy now that what's.
Going to what's going to play a part in field goals, especially
that open part of the fields, that open part of the stadium
(28:31):
where all the wind comes through.
Yep, and and before we start really getting into this Bengals
Steelers breakdown, our man in the booth, old JB wants to let
us so we can let you know that if you go to W dot GG, you get
your shopping done through thereand you use the code not moved,
you're going to get 10% off. And that's not only through
Dubby. We got the whole link set up in
(28:53):
our BIOS on the pages. Everybody not move, go through
that shop with us. You know, we also have a raffle
going on. Tell them about the raffle,
coach. The raffle is, but I'm not
mistaken, the raffle is for a jersey.
You know what I mean? I think it was a $10.10 dollars
is the start. You know, you get the jersey
that you want, whatever it was for your wife, you want it in
(29:14):
pink, you want it how, what kindof jersey you want, you know,
$10 entry, you know, and then weput your name on the wheel.
You can enter as many times as you want.
Your your entries are unlimited, you know what I mean?
So you can have your name on that wheel 30 times if you want
to help me, if you want to pay, you know what I mean, that money
for the jersey, whatever. And you know, this is the stuff
(29:35):
that not move doing out here, you know what I mean?
We out here, we got, we got fundraisers, we listen, we got
free, we got free giveaways on the days that we're streaming
live, you know what I mean? We got my man Southgate, the one
with the, the, the parlay king, you know what I mean with
Southgate hits the parlay. As long as we keep over 100 a
150 people in the live at one time, Southgate hits the parlay.
(29:59):
He gives away free money to somebody.
We pick somebody that's in the that, that, that that's in the
comments, that's watching, it's on the live, you know what I
mean? This is what we do.
This is not moved, baby. This is why we not moved.
That's why we don't go nowhere. You.
Know. What I mean either thing we're.
Doing and on Tuesdays and Fridays, we got around the room,
which streams on all our our platforms.
(30:20):
You know where you're watching here YouTube, we're on the
playback app. We got the around the room show
where we're just going through sports questions, just like, you
know, around the horn. But this is around the room from
the creators of around the horn coach and I've been on a couple
of them. It's real fun.
The topics are always different, whether it's football,
basketball, hockey, MLB, Olympics, weird sports trivia,
(30:44):
all of it. It's it's really fun.
And hey, if you guys want to getinvolved too, just hit us up.
Come watch us, you know, come bein part be involved because
like, like coach said, 10 bucks for a raffle for like 160 dollar
NFL jersey. Hell, sign me up for six of
them. That's great.
Yeah. I'm still saving.
I'm still saving. Yeah, I'm.
Still saying help and this let y'all know not move.
(31:07):
Podcast, we are not allowed to edit this.
Let y'all know we do not enter OK, so nobody from not move
ended, so there's no type of rigging in it.
We do not enter these raffles. OK, let's let y'all know that
this is all for you. This is all for our viewers, all
for you know what I mean? Everybody that's supporting,
it's for you, it's not for us. So after that, coach, let's
(31:31):
start talking about this game. Hendrickson is out today, so the
edges are going to be a little bit better protected for the
Steelers. They also have another injury
out today for that. You know, they're still dealing
with Shamar Stewart being out, running back, Karines out, and
of course you got Jermaine Burton wide receiver.
(31:52):
So that's what we got for the Bengals and for the Steelers.
Darius Slay, like we talked about earlier, Alex Highsmith
like we talked about earlier, Cole Holcomb's out today, and
then of course, Corey Trice. So.
And I, I listen, I think we're going to miss Hope.
I kind of like Hope since he's came back.
He was he. Yeah.
We don't get him wrong. He's had his little yeah, but
(32:14):
he's been, he's been, he's been kind of solid.
Since he came back from his injury, though, he's been kind
of solid. I've been liking Holcomb too.
I'm also hoping that they get Jack Sawyer a little bit more
involved. Move him around, you know, he's
young, he's still got legs on and they haven't used them that
much when he's been in. He's been good against a run
specifically. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He hadn't applied that much pressure but he has been good
(32:36):
against the run even though he did.
Catch that interception against the Colts.
Shut up to Jack. He catch that again when wants
to bat it down so I will do that.
You know what I mean? You were there.
You know what I mean? Because the only way you're able
to make that make that play because you're in a position to
make that play so. You were.
Back there, you weren't able, you know what I mean, to catch
that. So great job on that.
(32:58):
Keep that up. But Ben, what are we going to
see from this defensive line, Graham?
Like what? What what?
What is Austin going to do, man? What, what, what what's he going
to fuck? Are we going to see this same
high school fucking just straight up the field to
gapping? Like like what?
(33:19):
What? Man, listen, I'm not allowed for
word with this defensive line ifI if I watch this game today
dawg, and I see. 3-4 possessionsbefore I see a stunt again.
Yeah, I I'm at a loss for words because we have the personnel
(33:41):
for the defensive line. There's only one guy I really
don't like on this defensive line.
It's Keanu Benton. He is he's not consistent enough
for my liking. There will be games where he
looks very good to lights out and then the rest of the time he
is just below average, well below average.
You know, why not incorporate more of a Derek Harmon Ya Ya
(34:02):
Black and Cam Hayward package shifting Cam maybe a little bit
more on the inside and and having ya ya Black come on the
outside with Derek Carmen on theoutside that you know ya ya
Black has shown that he is eagerto get in there and do a good
job. Keanu Benton I'm hoping shows up
this game. But even when he isn't, I don't
know if you notice he's slow to get his stunts when they
(34:24):
actually get called for him. It's made.
It's mainly Cam Hayward breakingthrough there or Derek Harmon.
Derek Harmon has been awesome this year.
We I am so you know, you and I talked after the draft and you
pointed out right away you're like, I think Harmon's going to
have an immediate impact when heplays so and he is, but I'm not
(34:45):
sure right. Terrell Austin is the problem.
You know, we have the personnel on defensive line.
We have the scheming is the problem.
It's and it it's so aggravating to watch a bull rush every time.
Just a straight bull rush and. And my, my own thing is, my own
(35:05):
thing is, can TJ get a stunt? You know he's going to get
chips, so how about sitting? How about I?
You know what I mean? How about having homie step out
TJR sign slide through? How about women?
What about oh shit, how about Harm and Kim?
How about? How about?
Herbic and Harmon. Yeah, How about Herbic and
(35:28):
Harmon? How about Herbic and Harmon
stunt? How about Cam and Herbie stunt?
Like dog? Can I see something?
Can I hold on? How about can I get a twist?
Can I get Wilson and Whip? Can I get Wilson and Queen come
up. One job's in.
I'm sorry. Can I see something?
(35:48):
Can I see a delight? Can I see a delight?
Can I see a delight? Can can I see the line?
Get engaged. Then out of nowhere, here come
Ramsey. You know.
Can I get a delight? You did it.
You did. You did.
Oh, this is shuttle. You did it against Cleveland,
You do shit against Cleveland, who has a mediocre fucking
(36:09):
offense when you don't try to shit against teams that can
actually beat us with their offense.
Well, look what they did againstthe Colts.
I mean, why can't why can't we keep consistent with games like
that against the Colts? Yeah, they let the Colts score
13 points in the second-half. But if you score 17 in the first
(36:30):
half and 10 in the second, yeah,OK, you've done your job On
offense. The defense was much better.
The scheming was much better against and.
And, and, and let's be honest, if Roman Wilson wasn't just
trying to play hero ball, backyard ball and be extra and
do that stupid ass hurdle. We, I mean, you already had the
first down. You just fall.
We we, we probably run the clockout.
(36:52):
Yeah, I that's, but that's coaching.
That's coaching. Understanding down the distance,
understanding situational football, that coaching.
Yeah, and and another thing that's one thing I do want to
touch upon is I this wide receiver room is embarrassing.
You know, DK, he's number one guy.
(37:13):
We know that Calvin Austin has filled in where he can.
He is more of a #3 receiver to me.
He's not a #2 but Calvin Austin has speed and he can't catch the
ball. And of course, like we've been
saying all year, I guess we're just not going to use the tight
ends, even though we're running 12 personnel.
I I guess we're only going to use them for certain blocking
(37:35):
situations or short passes. We're not going to let Fryer
Muth open up or Jonnu Smith, youknow, we're going to keep these
tight ends just being blocking tight ends with short passes.
You know, Darnell Washington hasshown when he gets the ball he
can do good things. So is John who so is Friar Mood
for? That all three of them have
(37:57):
shown you put the ball in their hands consistently.
They can make something happen, but yet we refuse to use them.
Then you got Connor. You got Connor the mascot
Hayward on the on the roster as a blocking fullback, but on 30
short 4th and short. I don't see him in the game
bleep blocking for nobody like no.
(38:20):
No, no. And you know, even even as well
if if we're going to keep using Gainwell so much as our
secondary back, he's actually a decent pass catcher.
So why don't we start scheming alittle bit more for him to be
breaking out of the backfield oreven motion out of the backfield
a lot more to start getting past, get more passes involved
(38:42):
or at least confusing them with what route he's going to run so
we can get the ball to DK or Calvin Austin because we're
clearly not going to pass the ball to tight ends.
Art Smith has refused to do that.
He does it maybe once or twice agame and then relies on them as
blockers. So yeah, let's let's waste our
12 personnel set just to make them be blocking constantly.
That's it. So I.
(39:04):
So bad, too grand, so many analysts, so many people that I
talked to have all brought up how dangerous the Steelers
offense would be if they went toa 13 man personnel with all
those tight ends and DK and and and and and and.
I swear, and every time they bring it up, I'm like dog, like
I've been saying this since I saw a roster, like I've been
(39:25):
like, I've been saying it and itnever happens.
Is it? It never.
Happens and I don't understand his obsession with throwing the
extra lineman out there instead of the tight end.
You noticed that this year seemslike it has to happen a couple
times a game. He's obsessed with using that
that scheme and it it's only worked but maybe once.
(39:49):
OK, get out of there, Art Smith. It's almost like Tomlin has
infected his way of doing efficient play calling because
when he has efficient offensive play calling and we have done
well this year. When you look at the Steelers in
the wins that they have had, when they have scored, OK,
they've been successful at utilizing more personnel and not
utilizing stupid extra lineman out there that might be a pass
(40:12):
off and maybe not. Mostly they're not because we're
going to block with them. The enough is enough.
Open up the playbook. It's it's time five and four in
the season with the Ravens nipping at your heels, with the
Bengals starting to come up and with the Browns wanting to play
all of us just because we're in the division and wanting to beat
us just for moral victories. OK, it's time to step it up.
(40:34):
And Art Smith, Terrell Austin, Mike Tomlin, today is your day.
This is it. No more pussyfooting around, no
more banking on, well, next game.
It's next game is not enough. It's five and four.
It's time to buckle up, hey? Yo, if I hear him say one more
time, the standard is the standard, I swear I'm a yo, I'm
(40:59):
a fill the gas tank up and I'm driving to Pittsburgh and I'm
going to open hand print, slap the shit out of him.
Don't listen. The standard is no, you haven't
lived up to our standard in about 9 or 10 years.
Yeah. No playoff wins in eight years.
No playoff wins in eight years. We haven't had a 53 man roster
(41:24):
that's able to compete with the other top teams in the AFC to
represent our conference in the Super Bowl.
When I say the standard, OK, When I say the standard, but we
haven't had that since like 2014.
Fifteen was the last time we hadthose rosters, OK.
(41:45):
The last time we had a roster that could, actually.
Compete with the other top teamsin the AFC towards though.
Oh yeah, you know what? Y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all go
ahead and then y'all still can beat y'all like this, still got
a roster to beat you. Like if they play still a ball,
they can beat you. We have one of the rosters in.
(42:07):
Years. No, no, not even not even
defensively, which is the which is the shocking part about all
of it. Our defense hasn't been feared
since you're saying 2014. Like Steelers defense was always
known at least as the defense you could rely on to keep you in
close games. And you know, the Steelers being
(42:29):
the most expensive defense. And yeah, we have some flashy
names. I mean, I, I think overall what
Ramsey has done since coming here has been better than what
any quarterback did for us last year.
But also, you know, he's he's onthe downturn of his career.
Unfortunately, he is not he's not trending upwards.
He is definitely trending downwards.
(42:49):
And today, if they set up the same coverage package where he's
going to be one-on-one with Chase, that spell that spells
disaster for the Steelers. They do that again.
There's no way on God will do itagain.
No way on God will do it again. You cannot do that twice.
No, and and that, but that's thething.
(43:10):
You've nailed it on here multiple times.
You've nailed it. It's Tomlin's arrogance that is
going to say, hey, keep that same package because we're going
to do it this week. I'm I'm not, I'm I'm honestly
coach. I, I think I'm picking the
Bengals this week and I hate to say it.
The only reason being is I don'ttrust this team.
I don't trust the coaching from the Steelers y'all.
(43:32):
Listen, I'm right there with you.
Listen, I'm going to keep it. I'm keeping a big with you.
I told you I like to be proven wrong, right?
When it comes to my team, I liketo be proven wrong because I
criticize them so much, because I expect so much.
So I'm going with the bank with my damn self until y'all show me
(43:54):
until you, until you show me consistency, until you show me
urgency, Until you show me will some heart, until you show me
the standard. Show me the standard.
See the standard. See because the standard was
team didn't want to play us in Pittsburgh.
The standard was at one time we defended the shit out of our
(44:17):
home field. The standard was we would go 7
and 1/8 and O in Pittsburgh at one time consistently every
year. It wasn't.
You came to Pittsburgh. You were losing.
Period. It wasn't that if I'm paying a
bunch. About it.
We defended our house. We don't defend our house no
(44:41):
more. No, no.
I mean, we, we played at our house 4 times this year.
Can you guess what the record is?
It's two and two. It's two and two.
Lost to the Chargers. Oh, sorry.
Sorry. Sorry.
Sorry. Nevermind.
I'm wrong. I'm wrong.
Sorry. Sorry.
Lost to Green Bay. Lost to Seattle.
Seattle. And then we win again.
(45:02):
Well, the Vikings one doesn't count because we are in Europe.
But win against Cleveland, win against the Colts, this team is
not to be trusted. You know, our.
The schedule for the Steelers isnot looking any better, too.
If they lose this game, they've got.
Yeah. And Chicago is no slouch.
Chicago, they're going to play Minnesota.
(45:23):
We'll learn more about them today.
But Chicago's offense with Ben Johnson as the head coach is a
threat, a big time threat right now.
Then we got the Bills. Then we have the first game with
the Ravens, then Dolphins, Lions, Browns and finish with
the Ravens. And I'm predicting right now if
if this loss happens today, the Steelers are only going to see
(45:46):
that last game of the season against the Ravens BB team
because the Ravens will have thedivision locked up if if the
Steelers lose today. Absolutely, absolutely.
I got 1% I want and listen and listen.
I'm going to make a prediction. Not saying that we're going to
beat them, but we're going to gowith the Bills.
(46:08):
We're going to play them hard ashell and.
Compete and then get Molly wipedby the fucking Browns next week.
That's my. Brazens yeah.
Yeah. And you and you know who else?
I think, you know, if the if they win today against the
Bengals, I feel like they're going to be it's going to be a
weird low game against the Bearsbecause yeah, because it's one
(46:33):
of those teams that during the timeline of Tomlin, the Bears
have that have really been an upand down team.
You know that sometimes they've been OK, they've been good.
But Tomlin plays these, he coaches these teams weird.
He doesn't prepare our team enough.
And that's it. You know when we should be.
These should be winning games. That's going to cause the
Steelers trouble. Aaron Rodgers are not.
(46:54):
It doesn't matter. He we've got a guy at the head
of the table who just doesn't seem to realize his own fault.
So I mean, that's going to be the story of this season no
matter what. With these last remaining games,
Week 11 through Week 18, that's going to be the story.
I've said it. I've said it for years.
(47:15):
I've said it all this year. I'm going to end with this, as
long as Mike Tomlin is on our sideline, we will not win
anything else again. Period.
That is, that is, that is just how I feel.
(47:35):
That is what he has shown. OK, once Bill Cower's team had
completely retired and was gone,we saw what the fuck Mike Tomlin
did as a point blank period. But I don't care how you slice
it. I don't care what you point out
when Bill Coward's team was completely gone, we have seen
(47:59):
the results. Period.
You can't argue it. You can't argue it.
So like I said, as long as Mike Thomas on that sideline dog,
we're not doing anything. I will always Rep black and
yellow. I will always be black and
yellow. I will always bleed black and
(48:21):
yellow, but will I like my blackand yellow?
I will always love. You, I always love you, but will
I like you all the time? No, because I do not like you
all now. And hey, also shout out to Paul
Skeens for winning the National League.
Sao Young and pirates, they don't have a lot of good going
(48:42):
for him except for Paul skiing. So I'm really happy to see that
he's getting his recognition. So one day he gets traded to the
Yankees or Dodgers, whatever happens.
But while he's with them buckos, congratulations Paul skiens and
let's go pens playing in Sweden game two against the Nashville
Predators today. So there's plenty of Pittsburgh
sports to go around, but for this one, let's go Steelers.
(49:04):
I'm hoping. Here we go.
I'm hoping that the offense comes alive finally.
But I am still sticking with what you and I say.
You know what I think? I'm going Bengals so.
Am I? You know what I think?
I think they are the ban Renegade until y'all show us
Renegades. I don't think they even play
Renegades no more. Nope, I don't think Renegades
(49:26):
should be allowed to be played until y'all.
Show us now y'all some Renegades.
How can how can you have some theme music that don't represent
you whatsoever? Because right?
Now, you guys are a bunch of Renegades.
Not even a little bit. Not even a little bit.
So here's my thing. Anybody else out there in
(49:46):
Pittsburgh Nation, Steeler Nation?
Well, how do y'all feel? How do y'all, how do y'all feel?
Should Renegade not be allowed to be played in that stadium
until our team shows us that they are some Renegades?
Huh. Until they show us Renegades, we
should not play Renegades. Let me know what y'all think in
(50:07):
the comments. Let me know.
Yeah, you know, I'm going to start pushing it.
I'm going to start really pushing it.
We should not be allowed to playRenegades until y'all show us
that you some Renegades. How about that?
I don't know. I don't know how anybody can
disagree with that. I think you're absolutely right
because you know, you've got to find a song that's about
(50:31):
underachievers, right? They got to start playing a song
that's all about underachieving.Absolutely here and to y'all,
that's that's all they need to have.
That's what they need to have. So give me a song about somebody
falling short consistently. That's just show me.
(50:53):
That was just show me. That's what just show me.
See, I'm not, I'm not. Listen, I'm not going to be
delusional. I'm not going to sit here and
ignore the flaws and the weaknesses that I see in my team
every single week and there's nothing being addressed.
(51:14):
Now I'm like I pointed out, I pointed out the beginning of
this show, the stunts, the twist, the movement on defensive
line. Now I saw it last week.
Let's see if I see it again thisweek.
That'll be another flaw that is consistently not addressed.
(51:35):
That'll be an adjustment that isconsistently not.
Made you see what I'm saying. So I, I, I, I want to see, I
want to see if the things that we continue to point out,
personnel usage, I want to see if these things continue to
happen. Because if they do, we are going
(52:01):
to erase Renegade off of the sound system, off of the sound
system. And how I feel we're going to
erase, we're going to take it out.
It's going to take it out because you guys are no
Renegades, because you guys are.Yo listen to the word of the
song and tell me if that fits you guys.
No. And I, and I tell you what, if
(52:23):
we don't see these type of changes within the first drive,
I'll even give them to the second drive.
If the Bengals go down on their first drive and score and we
don't see one stunt, one twist, 1DB blitz, 1 middle linebacker.
But if I don't see anything other than a straight bull rush
coming out of that line, then I know the way the game is going
to go because Terrell Austin is not good at making in game
(52:46):
adjustments and neither is Mike Tomlin.
We've seen it. So that's that's today.
The key to victory for the Steelers has to be changing up
that defense, getting away from the standard.
Absolutely. Absolutely. 100% absolutely.
(53:07):
Well, coach, I think that we we broke it down pretty good this
week. Where else can they find you
across the not move platforms brother?
Well, you know, you find me on Coach's Corner, you know, I've
been away for a while from Coach's Corner because they I've
had the coach. So, so y'all listen, y'all shout
out to Cedar Creek, Cedar Creek High.
(53:28):

yesterday, won the section yesterday.
They are going to state championship.
Congratulations. A good amount of players on

(53:50):
Proud of you. I want to give a shout out to
Elaine City High. Even though you guys lost, all
you guys lost in the sexual, however, you guys have stepped
up showing improvement. We are injured.
It's a young team over there. They're a bunch of juniors and
sophomores. So, you know, we got, we got
another two years of I think 2-3years of dominance over there.
(54:12):
So shout out to Atlantic City High School, you know what I
mean? You, it was a tough loss, you
know what I mean? It was a tough loss, but you
guys fought hard, kept your heads up, you know what I mean?
Kept grinding, didn't stop playing until the clock said
000. So salute to y'all, shout out to
you. Shout out to Bunneville High
School who also lost in the second round and they lost a
(54:36):
nail biter 15 to 12. Man, they lost a nail by the
man. That thing came down to the last
place. And listen, I got some guys over
there, man, you know, they come through my youth program, you
know what I mean? That's my youth program is the
feeder program for that high school.
So shout out to them. You know what I mean?
(54:57):
