Ever notice the unfortunate connection between competition and service? No competition = lousy service. Naturally, it's all about power. Take a monopoly like the DMV, where the clerks know you have no alternative, and demonstrate it with their tired, bureaucratic concept of service. But there are exceptions. Sometimes we get surprised by wonderful service. We're uplifted by the right attitude. When it happens, it'll light you up.
