Not Your Culture is an open conversation between Jonathan Philip, a Saint Lucian national who migrated to New York City, and his various guests who share the migrant experience. Jonathan started the podcast as research and an extension to a book-in-progress that he was inspired to write as he noticed there were several differences between the culture in NYC and the culture he grew up in. However, what intrigued him most were the little things; the scents, the way people greet each other (or don't), and other minor cultural oddities. Although the book is focused on his personal experience, the podcast allows him to compare or contrast experiences with his peers. Join us as we discuss our experiences with culture shock, here and abroad to answer a fundamental question - "Where is home?"
