Born in Mexicali and raised in Boyle Heights/East Los Angeles, Wenceslao's passion for art first blossomed in the vibrant world of graffiti. He later pursued formal art education at CSUN, immersing himself in traditional arts, photography, and digital media. For over 15 years, Wenceslao has worked as an assistant to renowned artists, gaining invaluable experiences alongside names such as Wayne Healy, David Botello, Paul Botello, Judy Baca, and Ricardo Mendoza.
In addition to his collaborative endeavors, Wenceslao is the visionary founder of ArtBuilds, an Art & Design production company based in LA. His diverse clientele includes "Its Always Sunny Podcast," Red Bull, Blue Moon Brewery, ACCENTURE, SEIU2015, and LAUSD. Beyond his studio work, Wenceslao is a dedicated teaching artist, sharing his passion with individuals of all ages and backgrounds through esteemed organizations like LACMA, Homeboy Industries Art Academy, and Alliance for California Traditional Arts. Wenceslao's artistic expression is influenced by his upbringing in Los Angeles. He finds inspiration in the messages written on walls and the metaphors that embody cultural knowledge.
