Anti-trans bills are happening at every level of government in the US. Packed up with terms like “parental bills of rights” and “family freedom” the gaslighting is attacking some of our most vulnerable young people. When thinking about the impact of these pieces of legislation, there was one person in particular who Dr. De Veau knew she could turn to. Dr. Ken Schneck is the program director for the Leadership in Higher Education program at Baldwin Wallace University in Cleveland, Ohio. Ken has been a leader in the student affairs space for decades and a huge proponent of the advantages of small colleges on the development of students.
He is also a political junkie, and a writer/editor for the “Buckeye Flame” Ohio’s award winning LGBTQ+ news outlet. Ken has written, analyzed and obsessed over the impact of these bills on the youth of Ohio and how this will have an impact on HigherEd across the country.
