In this episode of Old Spook Lane Creepy Chats, Patricia and Arun continue their coverage of the ghost with the most with the 1989 animated series Beetlejuice that ran on ABC in honor of its 35th anniversary and the release of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Lydia Deetz is a 12-year-old goth girl who lives in a small town called Peaceful Pines with her parents and her cat Percy, goes to an all girls' school with her friends Prudence and Bertha, and befriends a ghost who lives in the house named Beetlejuice. Together, they go through many crazy adventures in both the real world and the world of the dead called Neitherworld with Beetlejuice causing trouble towards everyone in his path, including his neighbors Jacques LaLean, a skeleton who loves working out, Ginger, a tap dancing spider, and The Monster Across the Street, a giant hairy monster with a dog named Poopsie. When the show premiered on ABC, it was a huge hit garnering praise for its characters, voice acting, and humor despite being a huge departure from the movie it was based on. How well does it hold up?
