Speaker 1 (00:00):
My Heart Radio is proud to support our military community
from the largest military installation in North America. Let's go
on post at Fort Cavassos, brought to you by Elder Mitchibishi.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
We are certainly honored to be joined by Colonel Werner Barton,
First Medical Brigade Commander, Colonel Barton, it is a pleasure
to have you with us.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Thanks to Wayne. Having us on today is It's truly
an honored to be with the Aheart Radio Nation today
as we spend some time together to get to know
each other dway they should know. America's Armored Core, the
third Armored Core, stays extremely busy both supporting operational requirements
around the world and our training and our support to
our local communities. And we do have two events coming
up right here in the near future, the first being

(00:41):
on six May, which is our installation wide full scale
Emergency Exercise. This a exercise gives us a chance to
practice for emergencies for our community partners, ensuring that in
a time of crisis, we can help each other out
to sure we had value support to those in need.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Now I know a lot of this activity can impact
services across the installation. That day and all around the
community as well.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
A Colonel Barton, absolutely, Dwayne, and we expect that to
be minimal. Our visitors to posed here can see maybe
some slow downs at the gates. We will see some
routine outpatient appointment scheduled for our main hospital here, probably
put on hold so those medical writers can support the exercise.
And of course our hospital pharmacy there for dancing will
be closed, but your listeners can contact or Dancy directly

(01:23):
are log on and via their Facebook page for all
the updates they need.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Okay, that sounds good. Now, We've also got something coming
up on eight May and that is the Project Hero
United Healthcare Texas Challenge. Tell us all about that.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Another great event that we get to partner with and
we'll get to send off the prosecuro you know how,
to help Texas Challenge writers on their next leg of
their six day cycling challenge from San Antonio all the
way up to Arlington. And we're excited to have our
American leisure writers along with our Fort Cobass Police, escort
these writers from the Third four headquarters through Fort cobasos
and passing by Meadows Elementary School, where we are excited

(01:55):
to see about eight hundred students. They're going to be
standing along the road sharing on the support for these
cyclists on their new stop up in Waco.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
It was founder back in two thousand and eight. Projects
Here really is a groundbreaking national nonprofit organization really dedicated
to helping veterans and first responders affected by PTSD, TBI
and injury achieve rehabilitation, recovery, and resilience in their daily lives.
So it's all a very big deal.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Want to raise awareness for that, and what we hope
to do is is ultimately this increase the awareness of
the national mental health emergency we have. It's posed by
PSD and TBI where all of our combat veterans and
military folks, our first responders across our great nation.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Project Hero participants have reported to a sixty five percent
reduction and prescription drug use, faster injury recovery, improve sleeping
habits as well, which is a very big deal, and
significant enhancements in their daily life activities. So this is
all very worthwhile.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
And the old adage goes, it does not broke, don't
fix it, And I think we've clearly seen that this
is a win. But we do look for new opportunities
to reach out to our partners to ensure that we
continue to push health and will being for It's an
honor to be the first Medical Gaate Commander, and I
will tell you the first Medical Gate is the Army's oldest,
largest and most deployed medical gade within the inventory. We
are based here at Portavassos, but we have units spread

(03:10):
across here Fort Bliss, Texas, Fort Carson, Colorado, and Fort Johnson, Louisiana.
We are, for those who don't know, are the tactical
arm what's called the Army Health System, and we specialize
in courting, health service, support of courts, health protection for
Echelon's above brigade during combat operations in the mest epergencies.
We are aligned straight toward the third Corps enabling to
Gate and we work on behalf of that court commander

(03:31):
to make sure the health service, court and port self
protection he needs for all of his soldiers assigned to
his court. We trained daily to not only prepare for
our wartime mission, but also our national peace time mission
is peace time response. So the next big one we've
preparing for is our assumption of the critical homeland defense
mission known as the Defense SA burn response for southeaster.

(03:51):
Ultimately the unthinkable happens, which is a chemical, biological routes,
basiological nuclear incient here on the US soil. We will
be one of the first units ready to respond, and
our role is going to be to coordinate, like SAVY
medical operations in partnership with our civil authorities, our States, FEMA,
and other military units.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Now you also support the thirty second Hospital Centers deployment.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
It's a weird structure with four hospital centers, which are
our CSL level commands that have field hospitals underneath them,
which are responsible for expeditionary hospitalization. We periodically support operation
around the world with a thirty second hostital center in
the sixty two seventh Hostital Center which is up in
Colorado to support these operations. Six two seven is just

(04:31):
recently deployed overseas with their field hospital, and thirty second
it's next in the shoot and they are basically the
essential part of army medicine for US, setting up operational
hospitals both in combat zones and humanitarian missions. We train
all year for this, We certify these units, and we
push them out the door to go do the goodness
that we need to do to support of our department
offense and our national strategy. I like to tell folks

(04:52):
that the biggest part of who we are in the
military is our families. We fight for the brothers and
sister in the foxhol next to us, but we do
it every day part of the loved ones back at home,
and so the SFR Genie, as you mentioned, is a
great organization that we work hard to continue to pull
our families into everything we do. We hold lunches and
dinners and events to build best strong family network that

(05:15):
ensures our families are taken care of every day when
we're here in the rear, and if required while we're deployed,
to make sure that they are taking care of.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
You're plugged in before we let you go, sir. We're
still on the fights every day.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
It is a world of uncertainty as we see conflicts
around our globe, and we stay postured and ready to
defend our nation in any way we are called upon.
And as you said, the third arm requirer you know,
the America's hammer. Just as the quipment reminded. We have
over seventeen hundred four Coboso soldiers currently deployed around the
world doing just that. We've got soldiers in Europe, South Africa,
South America, Middle East, and other places unnamed, and I

(05:50):
just asked that all the iHeart radio listeners out there
just keep our soldiers and their families that are deployed
in your boss from Prayers Daily. If you goom makes
a huge difference for US.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Colonel Warner Bardon, first Medical Brigade Commander at Fort Cavassos
were really thank you for your time, Sir Dwayne.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Thanks again for having to stay and for all the
listeners on Hire Nation, and we look forward to doing
this again with you in your future.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Thank you for supporting our military to get even more
and here this week's full report. Go to our website
