Speaker 1 (00:00):
Fine Heart Radio is proud to support our military community
from the largest military installation in North America. Let's go
on post at Fort Hood. Brought to you by Elder Mitchibishi.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
We're pleased this morning to be joined by Colonel Eva Malari,
who is the eleventh Course Signal Brigade Commander at Fort Hood. Colonel,
how are you?

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Thank you Dwayne for having me on your show today.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
We're going to start a course with the Fourth of July,
which is coming up tomorrow and our partnership between Fort
Hood and the City of Colleen.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Yeah, so we're extremely excited to partner with the City
of Queen the Red, White, and Blue Music Festival, and
it's actually in celebration of the Fourth of July, but
it will be on the fifth of July in downtown Klleen.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Now, soldiers and families are encouraged to attend their military
static displays. The First Cavalry Division Band and Honor Guard
is going to be there as well, and of course
a big fireworks show. I mean, there's something for everyone here, Colonel.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
So hopefully we got a lot of soldiers and their
families that are in the area that will participate and
join in the celebration.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
The partnership showcases strong community ties and helps address staffing
and budget constraints. Many soldiers and families live across Central
text and we're encouraging them to join local celebrations here
in our communities in Central Texas. Independence Day's a really
good opportunity to come together in patriotism and unity with
our neighbors. That's what this event is really all about.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Colonel, come out, celebrate Independence Day, patriotism, celebrate with your neighbors.
It's a great opportunity.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Of course, summertime is very busy at Fort Hood and
we're going to talk Colonel just a moment about the
Fort Hood Garrison change in command.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
It's CORECT. On July eleventh, our garrison commanders will will
change out, so we will be welcoming in Colonel Mark
McClellan and he will be replacing Colonel Lakeisha Stokes. So
she's been here for about two years. We're very excited
to see him come on board. Now.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
This is all going to take place during a ceremony
at nine am on July eleventh at Sadowski Feel right
there in front of three Armored Core headquarters.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
It's a huge freight field perfect for a change of
command ceremony.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Colonel, Let's talk just a moment about the summer PCs
challenges a big deal with the Army.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Yes, so we have had challenges with the timeliness and
the support that soldiers have been facing during this PCs season.
But just know that the Army is committed to providing
soldiers and their families with a quality and timely process.
As they commit to moving from one station to another, that.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Can be a very stressful time. So efforts on to
a way to improve care areas we talked about, timely
issuance of PCs orders, movement of household goods, access to
housing it receiving installations, and of course something very important
support for family needs including childcare and spouse employment.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Yes, that's right. The Army is also working very closely
with United States transportation commands and they're working through the
Global Household Goods Contract so that they're able to expand
options and resources to ease the burden on soldiers and
their families.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
For ongoing support, soldiers and families can actually turn to
transportation offices, Military one source and the my Army Post app,
which is an essential tool that provides real time installation
information to help navigate army life more effectively. Colonel, very
busy time for you all. Now let's take just a
moment here talk about the eleventh Core Signal Brigade.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Thank you for the opportunity to talk about our brigade.
So recently we participated in the huge Warfighter exercise based
out of Fort Hood, but we had participations all the
way in Europe, so we had teams from one of
our battalions that supported from both Germany and France. But
where we were really able to hone our skills for
our support to large scale combat operations was by managing

(03:53):
the network for all of those nodes and communications assets
that tied in all over the world. Another part of
kind of us that's different from the other maneuver units
since we are an enabling command. One of the ways
that we kind of prepare our teams to support and
exercises like that is we execute what we call signal tables,

(04:16):
and so from that we build our individuals all the
way up to the team level on tasks that prepare
them to deploy out for exercises and deployments and missions
such as the one we participated in with the war Fighter.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Enabling warfighters with tactical expeditionary communications equiment, you're able to
deploy rapidly and to support in austere location, providing access
to critical systems required to manage the fight, which is
something that we have to be prepared for at all
points in time.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
That's right. That's why our readiness and our ability to
prepare for that is still important.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Now, Colonel, let's talk about the partnerships and your specific
units there and your partnership with local schools.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Our HC Brigade is paired with Ira Cross Entry School. Also,
our fifty seventh Expeditionary Signal Battalion Enhanced is paired with
Clark Elementary School, and then sixty second Expeditionary Signal Battalion
Enhanced is paired with sc LEE Junior High School out
in Coppers Code. So we are big supporters of the

(05:17):
community directly tied in with schools. We also participate in
community activities.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
As we can, yeah, including local ROTC and JROTC organizations
throughout the Bell County area.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
That's right. We appreciate the community and we are committed partners.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
This is something we'd like to touch on, Colonel, each
and every week. On our broadcast. We are still in
the fights.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
That's right. We still have more than fourteen hundred Fortwood
soldiers that are currently deployed around the world. We have
them on the border, the US border, we have a mountain, Europe,
South Korea, South America, Africa, and the Middle East. Want
to ask the community to keep our soldiers and their
families that are deployed in your thoughts and prayers.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Visiting this morning with Colonel Eva the Malari, who is
the eleventh Core Signal Brigade Commander at ford Hood. Colonel,
we really appreciate your time and have a wonderful Fourth
of July weekend.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
Thanks you as well, and thank you so much for
having us on today.
