A lot of people say they believe the Bible—but their actions tell a different story. They read it, quote it, even carry it around, but don’t always live by it. The truth is, God’s Word isn’t confusing. It can be understood if we read it honestly, reason through it, and stay consistent. The Bible speaks clearly: one body, one Spirit, one faith, one baptism, one God. That’s the gospel—and it doesn’t need to be rewritten, just lived.

(00:00):
I had a high school teacher whowould say from time to time,
"Don't make me out a liar."
Hi, David Hill.
Got a minute?
As strange as that may sound, some folks make the Bible a liar.
They make the Bible out to be a lie.
How?
By reading it, studying it, andsaying, "I know it says that.
But it really doesn't mean it."

An example (00:18):
the clear Bible doctrine of baptism for the remission of
sins (Mark 16:15-16; Acts 2:38).
Now they carry their Bibles aroundand affirm it to be the Word
of God, but make it out to be alie by denying it in practice.
Some make the Bible a liar by wrestingthe Scriptures, making them mean
something they don't (II Peter 3:16).

(00:39):
The Word of God can be understood ifwe'll just listen—read to understand it.
Consistent reasoning (Isaiah1:18), and rightly putting it
together, to be an honest studentof God's Word (II Timothy 2:15).
No one has authority to try and forcethe Bible to mean something it does not.

Notice the consistency (00:58):
one body, one Spirit, even as you were called in one
hope of your calling; one Lord, onefaith, one baptism, one God and Father
of all, who is above all, throughall, and in you all (Ephesians 4:4-6).
The oneness of the gospelis the key to salvation.
That's the gospel.
Thank you for listeningto One Gospel Minute.
