little.

you, because it's definitelyhelping me and what I'm hearing
is helping out many of you whowere in the series from the
beginning.
I tried to encourage you guysfrom the start, to explore the

(01:46):
sacred truth that everythinggreat begins with a seed.
We talked about David, hishumble beginnings as a shepherd
to becoming the greatest kingthat ever lived.
No matter what your resourcesare, your dream is valid.
We talked about overcoming thefear of starting small.
We also touched on recognizingthe value in your current

(02:07):
resources.
Today we're going to try tohammer that last point home, sum
it all up and hopefully get youon your way to being successful
and accomplishing some of thethings that you want to
accomplish in life.
So bear with me.
Let's try to feel strong, sostaying committed through the
quiet seasons of growth.
I've been asking questionsthroughout the course of this

(02:28):
series.
I have a question today whatlegacy are you quietly planting
today?
What legacy are you quietlyplanting today?
You know how it works on ourshow, especially on the
Inspiration Station, when we'retalking about seeds and plants,
I give you guys a garden analogy.
I can't even help it.
In the Inspiration Station, when we're talking about seeds

(02:48):
and plants, I give you guys agarden analogy.
I can't even help it in themost natural.
Now I'm actually out here inthe South planting stuff,
growing fruits and vegetables.
Never thought it would happen.
But here we are, almost 10years in growing almost
everything out here.
But what legacy are you quietlyplanting today?
I know people and this is what Iused to work in the corporate
workforce people who wanted tohave a job.

(03:10):
I was a recruiter at one pointtoo.
I did a lot of stuff.
I was a recruiter.
At one point you got these kidsup in here still smelling like
Similac, talking about they wanta $25-hour job.
We had them.
But they came into my office.
They were in dress, pants,sagging.
I'm like where's your belt, boy?
I was already at odds with themalready, because they came in

(03:35):
unprepared for the interview,Came in late and they won a
$25-hour job and the last jobthey had was $9-hour and they
quit.
The last three jobs they hadwere under $10 an hour and they
walked off all three of the jobs.
But you can come into my officeand talk about you want a $25
an hour job.
Yeah, that's sure going tohappen, right?
What legacy are you quietlyplanting?

(03:56):
Those young people came into myoffice planting a legacy of
failure, a lack of self-respect,a lack of self-awareness, a
lack of work ethic, and they'regoing to pass that on to the
next generation if they don'tmake adjustments and changes in

(04:18):
their behavior, in their mindset, in the areas of discipline.
That's the legacy they'replanting today.
What legacy are you plantingtoday?
What legacy are you plantingtoday?
What are you growing?
Are you trying to grow acomplaint tree?
Are you trying to grow a alibibush?
What are you growing today?
Let's get into what it means tostay committed through the

(04:38):
quiet seasons of growth.
I want to get into this.
I know we probably went outtime, but I'll do my best to
keep us going.
Please go back to our first twoepisodes to kind of follow this
.
I'm so sorry but life happensfast.
But I love this because itseems to me, especially in the
conversations that I'm doing orjust in private chats, it feels

(05:01):
to me like people are unable todeal with the silence that comes
with the quiet seasons.
What do I mean when I talkabout there you go gardening
analogy.
You knew it was coming.
Right when a seed grows and weplant a lot of seed, two, three
times a year in a lot of cases, sometimes more Right.

(05:23):
We put that seed in the ground,we cover it well, make sure
it's compacted well and whatnot.
We water it, make sure it hasaccess to the sun.
We recognize that it's going tobe growing and doing things in
the earth that we can't see.
It's going to be in obscurity,it's going to be in darkness.

(05:45):
That seed is growing but youcan't dig it out and say, hey,
how you doing down there,Because you're going to kill the
seed.
You've got to leave it in thedarkness.
You've got to leave the seed inobscurity.
You can't go check on it, stickyour finger in it and see how
it feels.
Do you feel anything yet?
No, you leave it in there andlet it continue its process.

(06:09):
The process is important foranything you're trying to grow
in life, whether it be a fruitor a vegetable, or whether it be
a dream, a project, a goal thatyou have for your life, a
vision you want to accomplish.
There's a process to it.
You can't get around that.
There's no book to give you ashortcut.
You can try to find one.
If there is, throw it in thetrash, Because the book is
probably trash.
There's no shortcut through theprocess.

(06:29):
It's not going to work.
If you try to eat an apple whenit's not ripe, it's going to
taste awful.
Leave it on the tree until it'sripe and you enjoy some
incredible flavor from that food.
There's a process that growthhas to take, and it starts with

(06:51):
obscurity and it starts withdarkness.
That seed is away fromeverything and it's relying on
enough water and enough light tohelp it to grow, but it still
stays in darkness until it's not.
How many of you are in a placeof darkness?
How many of you are in a placeof obscurity?
How many of you are in a placeof obscurity?
You know you got a big dream, you know you got a big goal, but

(07:12):
guess what?
You feel like nobody sees you,Nobody hears you, Nobody
understands you.
You feel like you're not evenknown.
You're that seed.
I'm talking to you.
You're that seed in obscurity.
You're that seed in darkness.
But bear in mind, I wanttalking to you.
You're that seed in obscurity.
You're that seed in darkness.
But bear in mind, I want you tounderstand this You're not in

(07:33):
isolation and God has notforgotten about you.
I'll say it again for those inthe way in the back.
They may not hear me You're notin isolation and God has not
forgotten about you.
You're just in a season ofgrowing.
You're in a growth season andit's quiet.
You're just in a season ofgrowing.
You're in a growth season andit's quiet.
You don't feel anything, youdon't sense anything.
You don't even smell or hearanything.

(07:54):
It's just quiet.
Ask me how I know I've beenthrough those seasons so many
times and you think it's oneseason, right, and then you're
done, right.
Thought it dissuades you.
But it's not that there aremultiple seasons of growth and

(08:17):
they're all equally as quiet.
How do you stay committed?
For me personally, I speak formyself.
I won't tell you what to do.
You can learn from Mr Yu'slesson today and do with it what
you will.
I was in several seasons likethat.
I was in a season where I hadpaper, I had finance, I had
money.
There was a time when I hadpaper you put on the walls.
I had achievements andcertifications and documents and

(08:42):
all the things that said youknow what.
You should be successful, youshould be doing great, you got
all the tools, but I feel likepeople couldn't see me, Like I
would be a visible man walkingaround the earth.
Nobody saw my value, Nobody sawwhat I can accomplish.
Nobody saw what I can do.

(09:03):
It was a quiet season of growth.
I felt like everything I wassaying was just going to fall to
the ground.
Nobody was a quiet season ofgrowth If ever there was one.
I felt like everything I wassaying was just going to fall to
the ground.
Nobody was going to care.
I know some of that stuff wasmindset, but a lot of it was
just the season that I was in.
I was being kept away from somethings that I shouldn't have

(09:23):
been involved with.
I was being kept in obscurity.
I was kept in darkness until anappointed time.
But how do I encourage you withthe way you feel during that
time?
Honestly, I got to keep it real.
I got to be honest with you.
It doesn't feel good.
I can't help it.
Feel good for you.
It doesn't feel good, but thething that kept me committed was

(09:47):
recognizing that I know I hadvalue.
I know that what I was going toaccomplish, the dreams that I
had, the goals that I hadwritten in my journal or in this
college, all around my house Iknew that this was going to
happen.
I knew the division was biggerthan me.
I knew the goal was bigger thanme.
It was God inspired.
I said this is big.
This is going to help a lot ofpeople.

(10:08):
It's bigger than me.
I said this is big, this isgoing to help a lot of people.
It's bigger than me.
I got to just walk through thisseason and it wasn't easy.
At first I kicked against it alittle bit, I rebelled just a
little bit, but eventually Isaid you know what?
I'm going to lean into this.
If I'm the invisible man, I'mgoing to stay invisible.
I ain't going to talk too loud,I ain't going to scream and
holler, I ain't going to make noscene, I ain't going to be a

(10:28):
distraction.
I'm going to stay here, endurethis process and when the time
comes, I'll come out.
Well, spoiler alert, I'm gettingready to come out, but we'll
talk about that on a differentshow, at a different time, when
I can discuss it.
But I'm getting ready to comeout the ground.
I'm getting ready to come outthe dirt.
I'm getting ready to come outof the darkness and obscurity

(10:50):
because something is gettingready to happen.
So thank you for being patientwhile I was in this quiet season
.
I'm getting ready to come out.
But what am I telling you?
Stay committed.
The only way to do that is tostay focused on who is growing
you.
For me, it's God.
I don't know who it is for you,but for me it's God.
I'm growing in obscurity, butI'm getting ready to come out

(11:15):
because I have a purpose.
I've been manufactured with agrand design.
There's something for me outhere and I want to just
encourage you guys, as we getready to move close to the end
of this episode, that there'sgoing to be quiet seasons of
growth.
There's going to be areas whereyou're going to feel like
you're by yourself.
This is when I say embracecommunity again.
Embrace community.
I don't mean a community thatkeeps you down, that talks to

(11:39):
you like you're five that yougot to dumb down for because
they ain't trying to go nowhereor do nothing in life.
I'm talking about the kind ofcommunity that uplifts you.
Not a hand-out generation, buta hand-up generation.
The kind of community thathelps grow you and stretch you
and push you out into the deepand say you know what?
I see more in you than whatyour friends see.
I see more in you than whatyour friends see.

(11:59):
I see more in you than whatUncle Bebe and them see.
Move out, have faith, haveconfidence, Test the waters, Do
something more than what you'veseen and what you've heard and
what people said was your futureGo further than that.
I love what Steve Jobs said.

(12:20):
His story is amazing If youtake time to check it out.
He has some great advice abouthow to persevere when times get
tough.
He said sometimes life is goingto hit you in the head with a
brick.
Don't lose faith.
I know most of y'all you gethit in the head with a brick.
You're going to lose faithimmediately and you might lose
your mind and you might show out.

(12:40):
He said sometimes life will hityou in the head with a brick.
Don't lose faith.
That's an advice to futurebillionaires who are not where
he already is.
He said that.
He also said don't wait tostart until you have all your
investment in place.
People say I need to have Xamount of money to get started,

(13:02):
but he said that's not the wayto start and it goes back to our
original topic building bigwith little.
He said in many cases you needto have a lot of money to start
a business or to start a project.
A lot of times you can start itfrom your kitchen table.
Kind of get a loan from thebank is often it's a trial and I

(13:26):
love his advice because it'sreally honest.
He says you know what, if youhave the motivation and the goal
and determination, if you havecommunity to, you're even better
off and even way further aheadthan most folks.
Start humble start with a lowbudget.
You might be surprised what youcan accomplish.
You're even better off and evenway further ahead than most
folks.
Start humble Start with a lowbudget.
You might be surprised whatyou're going to accomplish.
You can build big with little.

(13:47):
You don't have to have bigthings to build big things.
Your goal, your dream, yourhope, your vision is not going
to be big in the beginning.
Like we said earlier, thatsacred truth is that everything
great begins with a seed.
You got that inside of you.
The Wright brothers were flyingand that was revolutionary.

(14:10):
Before there were planes andhelicopters, these guys were
flying.
They did that with limitedtools and shaped them into
extraordinary outcomes.
He did that with limited toolsand shaped them into
extraordinary outcomes.
Don't allow the thing that lookslike limitations to keep you
from growing.
You are growing, you arebecoming and you're not alone.
People are just like you outhere trying to accomplish the

(14:33):
same things.
They're trying to build theirown website.
They're trying to build theircoaching business.
They're trying to build theirhair salon and their nail salon
and their barbershop.
They're trying to build theirrestaurant.
Sometimes you have to startwith little.
What do you bring to the table?

(14:53):
If you can't cook, don't bothertrying to start a restaurant.
If you don't have a handful ofat least 15 recipes that you can
make skillfully, that's moreimportant than you getting a
loan from the bank.
If you can't cook, don't botherstarting a restaurant.
If you don't know how to linesomebody up and cut their hair,
don't bother trying to start abarbershop.
You're wasting your time.
That's my whole point.

(15:15):
Those little things, the littletechniques and skills.
They matter more than all theother stuff, because that's
where the dream is going to bebuilt from what you can do, what
you do have available to offeryour current resources.
I hope this was encouraging toyou.
I hope you got all you neededfrom this.
I would love to continue theconversation.

(15:35):
I'm pretty sure that threeepisodes may not have covered
all the things that you may haveon your mind, things that you

you heard this series.
You may have more questions.
