So thank you again for doingthat.
We definitely appreciate it.
We have several teams out therealready been mocked.
Love to get you in the commentssection on those episodes to
get your draft grades for us.
How did I do?
Did I help the team?
Did I hurt them?
What's going to happen in thereal life draft with these same
teams?
Love to hear your thoughts andopinions.
(01:21):
Keep them coming ready to havethat discussion and, of course,
if you're not, if you arefollowing us for the first time,
you may not know this, butwe're on every thursday nights
at 7 pm est.
We have an incredible squadthat loves talking, football and
all sports.
We're also having our firstannual live draft special coming
up on april 24th around 7o'clock pm or so 7, 30 or so and
(01:43):
we'll be going live the entirefirst round.
So we're excited about that.
We're going to have some peoplein the box sharing insights,
dropping some knowledge, draftstrategy, talking about their
favorite teams the whole nineyards.
So it's going to be excitingand it's going to be fun we're
doing the Pittsburgh Steelerstoday.
Just a few things about them.
They got eight picks in thisyear's draft.
(02:03):
They have probably the mostspace of almost every team in
the NFL this year $60 millionand I think they have room to
even increase that some more.
So they got a lot of peoplethey can re-sign that are free
agents out there.
They are sitting on severalguys that they probably are
going to have to remove from theteam permanently anyways just
(02:24):
because of lack of productionand things like that.
But Pittsburgh, for me, italways feels as though they rely
on their defense more thananything else and I think
they're going to pull a lot ofguys from UDFAs of course, maybe
from the free agent market.
So I doubt very highly they'regoing to go deep in the draft
for a lot of defensive guys.
They may try to solve offensein the draft.
(02:45):
I could be wrong, we'll seewhat happens, but I think free
agency is going to be a heavytarget for them.
You got guys like aaron jonesand jk dobbins at running back.
They got a uh some mood dickand nadja harris probably isn't
coming back and jalen warren isnot a number one uh running back
.
So they gotta deal with that.
T hee Higgins, chris Godwin, amari Cooper out there wide
(03:05):
receiver and they definitely gotto resolve it.
They may have to even cleanhouse at wide receiver
completely.
Calvin Austin III Van Jeffersoncame over from the Rams, mike
Williams came over from the Jetsand, of course, george Pickens,
the de facto number one, who'shad so many issues and
challenges and there's somethings that he just doesn't do.
(03:27):
Well, they may clean housecompletely and go into the draft
to get uh wide receivers toreplace them.
Uh, I'd be surprised if theywere in free agency only, but
they made a difference to thefree agent waters as well.
At old, at tackle, ronnie stanis going to be out there from
the ravens and robertson fromthe vikings is going to be out
there, and they have the moneyto spend.
They may end up overpaying, butthat's free agency for you.
(03:47):
So we'll see what happens.
But let's go ahead and jump intothis draft, see if we can have
some fun and help the Steelersout with at least a few of these
picks that they have.
So let's see what we got.
All right, we're going with thePittsburgh Steelers today.
We're going fast.
(04:12):
Baby, see if I can help him outhere, all right.
So here we go.
All right.
So we know that right now I'mlooking at y receiver.
I'm not looking at quarterbackright now.
If wilson stays, which is apossibility, they're going to
draft a quarterback in the round, maybe a jackson dart, somebody
in late maybe a kyle mccord.
That's almost a guarantee.
If Fields stays, they'reprobably going to go and get a
veteran off a free agency, somebody like a Sam Darnold or
(04:33):
James Winston, somebody likethat.
So we'll see how that works.
Cornerback, because the area I'mlooking at is where they need
big-time help there.
The D-line needs some aid anddefinitely have to look at a
running back.
It has to do something there.
So there's a lot of areas forimprovement.
And then there's some areaswith the linebacker core, the
(04:55):
safety, the tackle.
Honestly, the Steelers had oneof the most cap space in $60
million and even higher but theygot some of the most needs as
well.
So they're going to be spendingtheir money this year, not
saving anything.
So we had 21.
I think we're going to hang outhere.
I don't want to go back to 36.
This so all right.
So we had 21.
I think we're gonna hang out ofhere.
(05:17):
I don't want to go back to 36.
This team needs a lot of helpright now.
So right away, I like wherewe're at with some of the
options here and who.
This is a this is a deep dip.
Here I'm passing by guys that Ithink are going to really be
helpful.
I don't want to lose them.
(05:37):
So I'm going with Emeka Egbuka, strong physical receiver from
Ohio State.
We got to see him a lot sinceI'm a Michigan fan.
He can play inside and outside.
He's quick.
I mean, does well in presscoverage.
He's good at, you know, preventing defenders from kind
of boxing him out.
(05:58):
He's really good at working inzones and he's just good at
route running as well.
So he's a really good player.
Solid receiver, I think he'salmost in the mold of a Jackson
Smith Najib, but from the sameteam.
So I guess it's not really ahuge surprise.
But I really believe thatwhoever the quarterback is going
to be, they're going toappreciate having Egbuka there.
(06:20):
So I am glad we did that.
We've got three more picks togo, all right.
So we've got a bit of a quandaryhere because I think defense is
going to be there.
They're going to address, probably in free agency and
undrafted free agents.
Get a lot of guys, get somebodies in there, because they
have some depth issues in someareas.
So I really don't want to godefense here if I don't have to
(06:44):
Wait a minute.
Look at my guy already wentthat quick.
That's impossible.
Okay, I'm going to stay onoffense so we can try to
continue to help these guys outa little bit.
Alright, I know that Valtano is.
If he's healthy it's going tobe fine, but need some depth
(07:05):
behind him.
I like this.
Alright, we're going to getMarcus Mabou from Purdue Strong
tackle.
He's definitely going to beMarcus Mabou from Purdue Strong
tackle.
He's definitely going to be anasset on this particular line.
He plays kind of Steelers smashmouth football.
I think he's going to be anasset here.
I like what we did.
No, we're not doing any of that.
(07:27):
I like that hit.
We got Ibuka.
We got Mabou at offensivetackle.
Hopefully I'm pronouncing hisname right.
If I'm not, guys let me know.
All right, so now we need to goahead and start filling some
gaps in here.
I'm going to make a bit of aleap here because I know we need
more wide receivers, but I'mgoing to jump over one of the
guys here.
I like Jay Higgins.
(07:48):
I think he has size and length.
I think it's going to be a bighelp to whoever the
quarterback's going to be.
But they got some issues atcornerback right now and Dante
Jackson probably is going out onfree agency and he won't be
back.
Because I don't think he'll beback, I'll be surprised if they
even bring him back and at whatcost.
So I'm going to go Denzel Burkehere.
(08:08):
I think he's going to be anasset in the backfield, in in
the uh, in the backfield, in thebackfield, in the secondary,
excuse me, I mean got greathands.
He's a ball hawk, got a greateye for the ball.
Uh, he doesn't get pushedaround too much.
It's pretty smart, got a prettyhigh football iq.
I like him, so we'll go aheadand stick with him here.
All right, so that helps us outwith a wide receiver tackle and
(08:29):
cornerback.
Now I'm in a quantity becausenow I know that I have one pick
left.
Now that d line running backI'm going to be part of my main
uh looks here.
So d line and running back andperhaps safety, if I can pull it
(08:51):
off, I think we can getlinebackers out of UDFAs and
maybe some region guys that areavailable.
So we're looking at.
Let's see what we got.
I'm not feeling that.
We're at 122.
(09:16):
I think we got a stud here.
I'm taking Stutman right hereout of Oklahoma.
I think he's just the kind ofguy that Mike Tomlin would love
coaching.
I mean, he's a stud, stronglinebacker, got good feet, he's
great with his hands and he'sgoing to be probably just
(09:39):
patrolling the middle of thatfield.
He lets the hit hard, so Ithink I like him here.
We're going to take him aroundthis draft out.
So we got Igbuka at 21.
We got Maboua at 52.
Out of Purdue.
We got Burke at Ohio State at83.
We got Stutman out of OklahomaI really like him at 122.
Let me know what you guys thinkabout this draft.
(10:00):
I think the Steelers need a lotof help, obviously, but they
have a lot of money to spend.
So I want to see what they'regoing to do.
But we'll find out.
But hit us up in our commentssection, on the YouTube channel
or wherever you find thisepisode, this podcast.
