I'm your host, mr you, I'm inthe house today solo.
We're in mock draft season andthe NFL draft is upon us a
little more than a month away.
We're really excited about alot regarding that.
As a show, we're doing some newthings, so we're really heavy
into the draft this year a lotof analysis, a lot of mock
(00:40):
drafts, a lot of collaborationswith other draft experts so
we're having a great time.
On April 24th please save thedate, mark your calendars Our
show is going to be coming on ata special time, april 24th, at
7.30 pm EST.
It's going to be the first nightof the NFL draft, the first
round.
We'll be live.
(01:00):
That entire round.
We'll have friends and familyand collaborators and fellow
podcasters in studio with us aswell as in the chat, so we're
going to have a good group offolks with us.
So we're excited about breakingdown that first round and just
having fun with it while it'sgoing on live on our television
sets.
So we're going to be having funwith that.
Today we're going to be doing amock draft for the Indianapolis
(01:22):
Colts.
We've done about 11 so far.
They're all on our social mediaplatforms and, of course, you
can find them very easily on ourYouTube channel at
TheyCallMeMrU M-I-S-T-A-Y-U.
Check it out.
Give me your draft grades forour mocks.
Let me know what you thinkabout what we've done.
But we're going with the Coltstoday.
We're going to do four roundsfor the Colts today excuse me,
(01:44):
just because they have so manyknees and it really goes beyond
what they say on their team site.
They got tight end safety, cornerback, linebacker,
defensive end or edge defensivetackle and, of course, they got
quarterback issues.
You see what happened withAnthony Richardson last year.
He lost his job and, honestly, prospects are not good for him
(02:05):
to get that job back.
From what I'm seeing, he mayhave lost the confidence of the
team and the organization.
As a matter of fact, there wasa point last season where he
basically took himself out of agame and I think that rubbed a
lot of the team the wrong way.
So he's basically fighting forhis job.
He's still around right nowbecause he was such a high draft
pick a few years ago.
(02:28):
So he's kind of fighting forhis job.
So they're definitely lookingat a quarterback at some point
in this draft, I'm assuming, orvia free agency.
Free agency is probably abetter route for them.
But we'll see what they do.
But we're going to go ahead anddo four rounds for them.
They got a lot of flux.
They have the entire offensiveline outside of left guard.
(02:48):
Quentin Nelson is basically afree agent or could be a cap
casualty.
So there's a lot going on there.
So they have a lot of needs.
We're going to help them out.
So we're going to go, insteadof three rounds, we're going
four rounds today to see if wecan try to help these guys get
some help for their very, veryrough situation.
So thanks for your patience onthis.
We're going to go ahead and gointo this draft and see if we
(03:12):
can try to get these guys somehelp.
Initially, I'm thinking aboutbecause of where they picked.
They picked 14th.
I'm thinking about potentiallygetting Tyler Warren, if he's
available, tightened in fromPenn State.
I mean, he's a stud.
He had about 1,300 yards in hisfinal college season, eight
touchdowns.
He was fantastic.
If we can get him, I'mdefinitely going to do that.
(03:32):
I'm not taking this pick.
I want to see if I can getTyler Warren from Penn State
Stud tight end.
I think if he's available, thecoach could use him.
So we'll be looking for thatthere.
He is fantastic.
I love it.
I love it all.
Right, good things started offreally well.
I'm looking at uh defensiveback now because they have some
real needs in this area and, asa matter of fact, they need a
(03:55):
few things here.
So I have the luxury of gettingeither the cornerback or a
defensive tackle.
I'm going to reject this.
Trade 2026 is not going to helpus out this year, so we're
going to bypass that.
And I got a couple of options.
Got my guy from Michigan, goldBlue, kenneth Grant.
We need a strong defensivetackle on the other side.
(04:18):
Uh, honestly, this is somebodywho I know fairly well, but the
guys that they have, they'reaging Grover Stewart and
DeForest Buckner.
They're kind of getting upthere and I'm feeling the door.
They might want to go younger,so this might be a good move.
Benjamin Morris is thatcornerback Fantastic?
There we got Alante Ursary outof Minnesota at tackle.
(04:42):
I'm going to go with KennethGrant.
I think this is a solid pickhere.
Get some stability on thatdefensive line, some pass
flushing ability, becauseKenneth Grant can do that Solid
tackler.
I watched him a lot in Michiganduring his career there.
I don't have a bad word to sayabout it, but then the coach
would be happy with this pick.
All right, I'm going to rejectall these trades.
(05:02):
I'm not doing any of that.
All right, so we already got aDT.
I'm going to go ahead and moveon from that.
See if we can try to show someother areas.
I like some of the things I'mseeing right now.
I want to make sure we'retaking care of the needs that
the Colts have and not just megetting who I like.
All right.
So let's look at our defensiveguys.
(05:22):
I think I missed out on a lotof the guys that I probably
could have gotten.
I'll come back to this.
I like Schlesinger out of UCLA,strong side linebacker.
I mean, he fits in here wellbecause I think a lot of the
guys that they have they're kindof underproducing.
(05:43):
Zaire Franklin is a name thathe's been there for a while.
He fits in here well because Ithink a lot of the guys that
they have they're kind ofunderproduced in this idea.
Franklin's a name that he'sbeen there for a while, but I
think he can use some help.
So I'm going to go ahead andgrab Schlesinger here.
I think he's going to be asturdy young guy.
He's fierce, he can move acrossthe field and he has enough
speed to keep up with some ofthe wide receivers.
(06:03):
I'm not going to say he has topspeed or anything like that,
but I think he's a good fit here.
We're going to go ahead androll with him, all right.
So we only have, I believe, onemore pick left at 116.
It's going to be a tough onebecause we still got a lot of
knees left.
We still got O-line helpquarterback knees here, because
definitely something has tohappen at quarterback too.
(06:24):
This could be a huge reach forus.
Ooh, I don't think I'm going totake that gamble.
So I think they'll go ahead andaddress quarterback in free
agency.
I think they will.
Names like Darnold have beentossed around.
He's actually a good fit atquarterback here, so I'll let
them take care of that in freeagency.
Let's look at helping out moreon this defense.
(06:48):
They got a lot of needs stillhanging out here, all right, so
I am going to.
We're not going to startcornerback in safety here.
Some of the guys already gone.
I like them more.
I missed out on Billy Bowmanwith that last pick, so I am
(07:09):
going to go ahead and help themout with David Walker, central
Arkansas.
Solid player man.
He gave him some addressingability.
They actually need that bigtime on this indie defense.
We're going to go ahead andtake him here and lock this
draft down.
First pick we got.
Tyler Warren stood out of PennState 1,233 yards, eight
(07:31):
touchdowns in his last year ofhis college career.
Fantastic player.
I think whoever's a quarterbackin Indianapolis is going to
love him.
He's going to be a greatsecurity blanket.
Kenneth Grant, my guy fromMichigan, go blue baby.
Strong defensive tackle man, edge rushing ability, solid
tackler man.
He's really smart.
He doesn't get pushed around,so I like him there.
Carson Schlesinger I know alittle bit about him.
(07:53):
I mean he's a solid linebacker.
He helped UCLA out a lot on thedefense, definitely able to
cover a lot of that field.
He can keep up with a lot ofthe wide receivers that I've
been seeing, at least in hiscollege career anyways, I don't
know what his speed is, but Ithink he's going to help the
Colts out regardless and DavidWalker is going to run at their
edge.
A need out there at 116.
(08:15):
I think this is good.
Send me your draft grades.
Let me know what you thinkabout this.
I think it went pretty good.
Draft grades.
Let me know what you thinkabout this.
I think it went pretty good.
I think the Colts are going todo really well.
If I went seven rounds Iprobably could have helped them
out with all of their knees, butthey're four rounds today.
Let me know what you think.
I'm excited about the results.
