Oda told us to not release this until Gear 7 was announced in the manga. If this comes out before then, something went horribly wrong. Tell mom I ate the cookies in the cookie jar.

(00:00):
So then I told him, listen buddy, if you're going to go for
the duck, at least bring a gooseor two.
What? What?
What the fuck? Does that have to do with Lyme
disease? Hey man, you asked me what I do
this weekend. I asked you that six hours ago.
Fellas don't shit fellas. I did it.
Oh, hello. After three long months, I
finally found it. Behold.

(00:20):
No fucking way. I know, I know, I kind of
murdered a guy for it, but this is worth a jail sentence, baby.
What's this? Do you remember that recording
we lost a couple months back during the ice cream bit?
Yeah, yeah, the the anniversary one waits.
No fucking way. It's it's beautiful.

(00:42):
I can't believe it. We did it.
We, we found it. I I I I.
I'm shocked. It's here.
I never thought I'd see the day again.
Me neither, brother. Well, what do we do?
What do we do next? I don't know what we do next.
I. I mean, we got to post it.
OK. I mean, do it.
Yeah. Yeah, go, go ahead.
Give the listeners what they want.
Yeah. That's it.

(01:09):
Alright, nice to see you everybody.
Thank you for coming tonight. Follow us on Instagram and.
At pandasightings@gmail.com. Don't forget to.
Buy a merch. Well, I can't forget that part,
can you? It's too late for that,
probably. Oh damn.
Hey. George, see, I didn't want to
give away the bit. Jordy, you're here.
Hello there. He's alive, buddy.
Friend. Friend is a little presumptuous

(01:30):
enemy. I'm not going to go out of my
way. You take friend.
I said. I said enemy man, I, I, I
covered my bases. Coworker is the best you're
going to get. Best still friend.
Oh. Best friend.
Oh, my best friend. Oh.
Hello there. Hello there.
It's been a while. It has.
How you doing buddy? All right.
I'm all right, nobody asked but our that's.
I'm glad you decided to put yourtwo cents in I.

(01:50):
Mean. I asked.
He asked what the Oh OK, I. I did hear Justin asked in his
defense in. His defense, a lot of times I
tend to tune Justin out because about 30% of the words that come
out of his mouth are just spoilers.
So. Listen, I, I feel that buddy.
I really do. I feel that.
How do you spoil the the the thing about Zorro dying?
Yeah, at least twice. Oh.
I mean, it's hard to keep it inside.
It still hurts, you know? Like his guts when he got cut

(02:11):
open. I remember that.
Go talk to Brendan or something about it then don't, don't come
to me with that. But we worked together.
Christian, it's like so easy, just talk to you.
Yeah, but I don't want to. I don't want to hear out the
spoilers. That's what Brendan.
It's just the one because it's the only one that's on my mind
anymore. Well, that's just blatantly
untrue. So who wants to read the
summary? Oh my God, I think that Brendan
should read it. Is there actually a summary?

(02:33):
I don't have it. It's in the sheet, the summary
right there. I got this.
I got this. Hello everyone, this is our
anniversary cast and I'm pretty sure we're many months late, but
don't worry about that because time is fake anyway.
So you know, we're just going todo what we normally do and just
you know, talk about stuff and answer questions that the great
Overlord Opwal himself created for us.
And so the first question here is you have been Isaac eyed into

(02:55):
the world of 1 peace and now youfind yourself on a random
island. You are your current self,
meaning, age, physique and memories.
There is a newspaper nearby thatsays Goldie Rogers, Treasure for
the taking. How are you spending your first
year in the universe? Wow, that's a pretty good
summary. OK, Yeah.
It was a great summary. Props to whoever wrote that.
So anyway are we going to answerthis question cuz cuz I'm ready.

(03:18):
Yeah, yeah, we got a, we got a bunch of questions here.
This is very like they have questions, have answers sort of
thing. Who wants to go first?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel like this is how we
usually do these anniversary casts.
That's correct. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So anyway, I got an answer to this.
Yeah. Fuck being anywhere within 5
inches of whatever the fuck craziness is happening.
I'm opening a bar and I'm ridingthis fucking wave.

(03:38):
That's what I'm doing. I think.
I think anyone who who pretends that they're doing anything
different for any reason is lying not only to themselves but
to the world around them. I am opening a bar.
I am making ends meet the best way that I can, and you know
what I mean. I'm going to take it a step
fucking for you. You want to know what I I love a

(04:00):
bar in New York City that I havefrequented a handful of times
called Break Bar. And the bit there is every drink
that you order. You also get to go with that
drink, whether it be like a glass or a shot or a bottle.
You go into a back room and you Chuck that shit at a brick wall
and it is cathartic. It is extremely enjoyable.

(04:23):
They got a little projector thathas like, you know, you know
things and, and people that you might, you know, dislike and
want to throw your shit at. That's beside the point.
I just like throwing shit and I bet people like alcohol.
So I that's what I'm doing in mylife, honestly, But I think
that's that's the easiest, easiest answer.
I don't need. I don't need these pirates.
I don't need, I don't need gold.I just need my little life and
to not be poor. I hope I'm not poor in this

(04:45):
reality. Oh.
No, I have bad news for you. Question, Are you allowed to be
the one to have things thrown at?
Not for me, but you know, just in case for your.
Clientele, you know, Yeah, Catholic rules clearly stated
what? Do you?
Oh, oh, yeah. Like if I'll put a picture of my
face like on the wall, be like, hey, do you hate it here?
And I don't listen to you fucking throw.
Them by like a person throw thatshit.
Can I pay a little extra? No, we're not OK.
No. We're not doing that.

(05:05):
No Lame. I mean you could use it as like
a training arc I. Thought we were having fun here.
You can. Train your observation Hockey I.
Listen, I'm a bar owner. I don't know anything about
observation hockey. Let me, let me live my own life,
man. Is this the beginning of Brendan
from the bar I'm. Just a goon in the east, West NS
blue, whatever damn Blues I needto to get you to get away from.
Me. All right, He's Brendan from the

(05:27):
bar. Who's next?
Brendan from the bar, thank you.Brendan from the bar.
So I I think I mildly misunderstood the question.
So I forgot the very last line about like when in time that
we're we're like dropping in because my answer was I'm going
to join the revolutionary army. There is like, no, there's like
there's entertainment in this universe, but like, it's not

(05:48):
what I have in my current life. You know, I don't have video
games necessarily. I don't have, you know, a movie
theater. This out of the other plus, I
think I'd probably be more poor in the One piece universe than I
am currently. Umm and I'm already radicalized.
So I'm pretty sure I'm just likedropping in in the warm peace
world. I'm like, all right, where's
dragon? Where's the nearest recruiting
center? OK, I'm going to get in shape.

(06:10):
I'm going to learn Fishman karate.
You know, they might teach me how to cook as like a little
cabin boy kind of thing. I feel like the, I feel like the
revolutionary army would do a lot of good for me in my, you
know, plus it just, you know, fight the Celestial Dragons,
fight the power. What?
Does it say that your first concern is I will not be
entertained, There will be no, no Subway Surfers to keep me
entertained in this moment. Yeah.
I'm not going to have my cell phone so without TikTok I might

(06:32):
as well go so. The One Piece world is wacky and
crazy and wild. We have people Geo crafting like
new islands and shin changing the atmosphere on them because
the world's so crazy. I'm not that level I.
Just I find it really funny thatthe guy who says that he's
radicalized in his current life.Yeah.
When I joined the Isakai world, I'm going to be too poor to

(06:54):
exist, so I'm going to enlist. That's that's your Isakai I.
Mean well, I'm not listening into the Marines take aid the
system, the people that are keeping me down.
I'm joining the the the the the fight back.
You know, I'm joining the counter culture.
I love this. Situation and he's like crap I'm
in the one piece universe which means I can't watch one piece
all right I'm going to join the army I.

(07:15):
I can't watch 1 so I have no choice but to live it I.
I have. I think my quality of life would
just be so much worse. I'm like, Nah, fuck this.
I'm fighting the Celestial Dragons.
I'm doing something in my life. And then after we win, then I
can maybe like, I don't know, open a movie theater or
something. Winning.
Whoa. Whoa.
Quite presumptuous. Listen.
Here buddy, I. Mean you have to think that way,
right? Like who joins in a fight as

(07:35):
thinking they're going to lose? What's the point?
OK, Brooke, relax. But here's the here's the thing,
right? Yeah.
And I'm going to segue into my own answer for this.
Your answers are good. I appreciate Brendans reality
check on what's really going to go down and your desire to to
fight the system is great. But what you're not leveraging
is the fact that you have insider knowledge because you

(07:56):
are you now and you're in the past of one Piece.
So you know future events that are going to take place.
And So what I'm going to do is, oh boy.
Here we go, I'm. Going to go out of my way to try
and become part of the White Beard Pirates and it shouldn't
be that hard, right? Like I'm.

(08:17):
Already. I'm already alone in this world.
I have nobody. I'm hopeless.
I'm lost, I'm sad. I I'm in need of a father
figure. Who who better of a white beard
right you? Just want you're like, will you
be my daddy and will. You be my dad are.
You, my dad. I'm going to.
Give them the big puppy dog eyesand I'm going to be in the White

(08:38):
Beer Pirates. Now this is only step one.
Step 2 is obviously this is going to take, this is going to
take a little bit of time, right?
Because we're in the past when Gold Roger is first executed.
So to get to where more current events stuff is happening, it's
going to take some time, plenty of time for me to do some
training and get in shape and just become, you know, maybe,

(08:59):
maybe find something, somebody to teach me the higher levels of
hockey and so on, so that I can become in the higher ranks,
right? And what I'm going to do is I'm
going to try and leverage myselfto be part of Thatch's crew,
right? And I'm going to, I'm going to
be part of this. And then I can be there when the
Devil Fruit is found and I can intercept Blackbeard killing

(09:22):
Thatch. Wow, what a guy.
You're trying. You're trying to put the whole
system on trial and kill thatch.Myself so that I can get the
devil fruit. Brother.
And then I can become the the the the villain of the show.
That's insane. What is the matter with you?
Why is that though? Is that?

(09:42):
Why is that what you want if? You want something.
If you want something done right, you do it yourself.
The fuck? Dude, you're, you're an animal.
I'm. Going to be I'm replacing
Blackbeard. In in Christians fanfic he
becomes Blackbeard. You're.
You're an animal. So I'm going to read my letter
that I wrote to myself. Him this.
Well, this is my answer to this and it'll sound a little
familiar. Hit him.

(10:03):
Dear diary, it's been a long year since I've suddenly found
myself in this world. The captain told me to write
down my last words for the voyage ahead.
Recalling my first month here, Igrow nostalgic for the innocent
version of myself, those early days where I really fooled
myself into believing I'd be worth something.
Sometimes I can still feel the flames and hear the cannons that
dispelled those childish notions.
I must bide my time now, learn from the others on my crew, and

(10:25):
develop strength and silence. I know what humans are capable
of here. It's difficult remembering that
with how weak I am right now. I've taken steps to ensure
victory in the long game. I've changed my name, befriended
the right people, and played therole.
Patience is key, and my friend Thatch is the catalyst.
Let's see how this plays out. Sincerely, Martian D Peach.

(10:46):
Oh. My God, so so do I have this
right? Do are both of you replacing
Blackbeard now? Is that what's happening?
Yes. No, no, you clearly heard him
say his name is Marshall D Peach.
Martian D Peach dude Martian. D Peach actually the.
More you talk the more I was like why?
Why are you stealing? That's incredible.

(11:09):
I. Can't believe you know this
question was proposed to us and not one but two people in our
cast are like, oh, I want to become the new antagonist.
Actually, I want to be the primary antagonist of this
world. That's how much I hate it here.
What does it say when you try tobe the strongest in the universe
and you end up in Blackbeard? What does that mean?
Was going to win in the One Piece universe?

(11:30):
I'm just saying I. Think I think Blackbeard is
pretty cool. I'd be fine if I had his clout.
I. Think this Luffy is going to
catch the hands and not be able to catch him?
Okay, well, I don't know. About all that, he is the main
character. I don't know, he's getting shit
rocked a little bit right now. I.
Don't know. Well, me Blackbeard's not going
to accept the 33 rounds. He's going to do it in one.
Yeah. Blackbeard's going right for

(11:50):
that heart. Blackbeard will be the first
fight. He's like, I'm going to eat it,
I'm consuming it, give it to me.I have knowledge.
What if he doesn't want Luffy's powers?
What if he's just kind of like, actually these powers suck?
No thanks, I. Don't know baby bird it into
Jesus Burgess's mouth or something, I don't know.
Baby burden into Jesus. I guess that's kind of Fair.
Wow, you know. I think it's crazy that that

(12:13):
both of you somehow are, are, are planning to become the bad
guy, like the big bad guy or oneof the big bad guys in our in
our story or in this world. Christian surprises me the most
because he went he basically said, I hate this guy so much.
I'm going to become him. So I could be the better version
of him. I don't know.
I so I. Can be a better Blackbeard, so
I'm saying you. You did some mental gymnastics
there that I can't fully understand.

(12:34):
But worst of all, my book is notonly are you like the biggest OP
in the world or one of the biggest OPS in the world, you're
becoming my OP because I remember Blackbeard unprovoked
attacked the Revolutionary army.So what the fuck, Christian?
Well, I'm not saying I'm gonna follow to the letter everything
he does after that. I'm just saying I'm gonna be the
big. I don't know.
I'm gonna be the big bad guy. What happens after that is

(12:56):
uncharted territory. I don't know anymore.
Listen. I'll tell you ahead of time.
I'm gonna spare Ace, OK? I need that man on my team.
All right? I'm gonna befriend him.
You need that man on your team. Well, what if he That's not
really on his plan. I'm gonna.
Both killed that I. Don't know if that's an option.
Listen, I'm, I'm playing the long game.
I'm, I'm gonna meet him as a kidand then, you know, implant bad
ideas into his head. I see I.
Have knowledge, remember this yeah, yeah, yeah.

(13:17):
That Sabo kid, he's also in my team.
I know where all the strong players are at.
That's. That's what I'm saying.
I want that Sabo guy, but we gotto find him a devil fruit
because if we don't kill Ace, then we need to give him
something else. We're.
We're just gonna, we're just gonna find all of our
protagonists when they're brighteyed, bushy tails and not and
easily corruptible and just groom them into villains.
What do? You what do you mean easily?
What what can you corrupt? What do any of you have on these

(13:39):
guys? Well.
That's not me, that's just that sounds like the plan.
Knowledge. It's not, it's.
Not not about blackmail, it's just about whispering sweet
nothings into their ear and befriending them.
What, like becoming their friendBrendan?
Yeah. Ohh.
And. Then you'd be like, oh, hey, you
know, would be really cool if, like, you know, you joined me in
world conquest, 'cause I want tobe new Blackbeard.
Yeah, Oh yeah. They're just good.
They'll vibe with that. Yeah, if I meet Ace before he

(14:02):
meets Whitebeard, then I'm in. I'm already in the door, dude.
You make it seem like it's wouldbe hard enough for these two to
do it well, like. Why is he even stopping for you?
Like he beelined it to Whitebeard on purpose.
Like when Jim BAE stood in his way.
He's like you're the small fish.I want the big fish.
Like he's going to like you would be like, I don't know who
you are. Get out of my way.
I I want to see the white man. I'm sorry, Whitebeard guy.

(14:22):
I'm. Not trying to.
I'm not trying to fight him though.
I'm being his friend. I.
Just I, I don't understand. I'm not.
I'm not seeing the vision, I don't think, Brendan.
Understands manipulation. I think that's really a problem
that's. Fine, you won't.
You probably won't see the vision.
I understand you just wanted to own a bar.
Your your your brain's small, smooth.
You're right. Yeah, I've got, I've got small

(14:43):
time energy. Small time.
Think you're right? Absolutely.
I'm gonna, you know, I'm gonna stay in my fucking corner, do my
own fucking thing. Also, you aren't allowed.
You are on the like permanent ban list.
That's fine. I don't want to go to.
I'm not in the West Blue or whatever.
I'm in the Grand Line living it up.
Living it up. Whatever living.
It up? You mean training?
That's not living that up, Sir. See, I'm going to beat your

(15:04):
Blackbeard. My black, my Martian DTVP.
Doesn't even remember who he is.Martian.
DV He doesn't even know his own damn name, all right?
I mean, he's got, he's got a year to figure it out, you know,
next. Question.
Let's let's move on to the next one.
Write a short letter to ODA. This can be anything from a
thank you to suggestions I thinkI'll.
Go first. Mine is pretty short.
Uh huh, because I just couldn't get all my thoughts down to to

(15:24):
word classic. Dear ODA, thank you for
producing one of the greatest works of fiction that's ever
graced my life. And I am a pretty uncultured
dude. Thank you for Zorro, for Law,
and for all the coolest settingsin One Piece, especially as we
move forward through the series. The upcoming arc has jumped up
to my favorite arc position. I would say more flattering
stuff, but I'm a hater at heart.ZKK could have been the biggest

(15:47):
trend in all of Twitter history, but you didn't pull the trigger.
What? Is wrong with you dude.
I honestly worry about your ability to to finish tying off
loose ends or diving into the massive icebergs that is your
world slash side plots. There are so many things I want
to see and know about your worldthat I'm not sure if you can
reasonably touch on. All of those things I want.
I worry about your overall health and the state of the

(16:08):
industry. I hope you get to end the story
how you want, since whatever theending is, it'll probably piss
off at least 1/4 of the fandom anyway.
I hope you're doing well. This series is doing pretty
well. Can't wait to see the end.
Justin. I was I.
Was much longer than I thought it was going to be.
You said it was short. I was like 2 paragraphs shit.
Dude I think I got like 3 sentences.
Oh man. I mean it's, it's an honest

(16:30):
letter either way. I might as well go next to this
one. A letter either way.
But like go for it. Fuck dude that was I'll go next.
Oh does sensei. I'm sure you need no reminder,
but as I cross my 32nd year in adulthood, I am constantly
reminded of the necessity to unwind and relive the feelings
of my youth. Your work has brought me more

(16:50):
joy and isolation than any otherpop culture franchise in
history. Thank you for giving us the gift
of this wild ride, and I can't wait for you to finally earn
your long overdue retirement. Yeah, that's very good.
Sore and sweet like it. Yo, Jordy.
Long overdue retirement, huh? It's crazy dude.
Man, he's been on this. He's been on the grind for as
long as I've been. Alive Man has been writing for
25 years. Crazy.

(17:12):
I don't even know. Let the man enjoy more work.
The man loves working, obviously.
Oh my God, a little. Too much, I mean.
He's got a problem. Well, his problem is your
benefit, so still. Want better for the man?
True. True.
All right, All right. Him.
Hello there, Mr. ODA, Sir. I hope this letter finds you
well. I've been hearing you.
How is of concern these days. Quite a troublesome thing, isn't
it? This whole human thing, not sure

(17:32):
if you've seen it, but I often think about that interaction
with the wizard and the boy and the Heron.
The wizard, near the end of his life, tells the boy that every
day he needs to stack blocks in a unique way for the world to
continue to exist. I guess I interpret this to be
the way Miyazaki sees his legacy, a tower that he feels
will crumble in his absence. I wonder if you feel that way as
well. I wonder if all creators feel
that way. It's been on my mind recently.

(17:54):
I know you get this often, but it shouldn't hurt to have
another one of the books. Thank you for your many years of
service. I hope at the end of this
journey you find comfort in knowing you gave many people a
good laugh. Arigato odachi sensei.
Nice. All right.
I was a tear jerker. It was good.
I. Like that Blackbeard sucks.
Write a better character. Sorry.
Oh my God, how'd you know? I knew it.

(18:15):
I just, I had a feeling. Oh my goodness, it's like you're
in my head. No man, trust me, I've got a
beeline. Oh, and I got the next
paragraph. Foxy also sucks.
Why did you invent this dude? PS Please keep Brown Beard out
of my story. Wait, wait.
Wait, there's one more paragraph.
Why did you make the Katakuri fight last so long?
No. No, no, no.

(18:35):
I got to end it on pause. Something positive, of course.
Oh. OK.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thank you for bringing Robin
into my life. Fair it up, fair it up all.
Right here is my letter to ODA Deer.
ODA, I wrote you, but you still ain't calling.
I'm just kidding. I wouldn't do that bit.
Twice dude, what if you came here and you started reciting?

(18:57):
I don't even know what I would do I.
Really thought about it. Just kidding, I wouldn't do that
bit twice. I gotta say, I feel like our
relationship has been a bit rocky over the years.
You've really created something that has me on 2 ends of the
spectrums more times than I can count.
I've cried tears of happiness, sadness, anger, and laughter to
your creation, and some of thosein the same episodes even.
I've also been to some of the depths of this show where it

(19:19):
feels like maybe you were running out of creative juices
or had to slow down your pace. I recognize I'm not consuming
your creation in its purest form, but at its core, the show
is yours too. But I'm not here to make
suggestions because you already listen to the podcast, so I know
you hear my complaints. No, I'm here to offer you a
simple thank you or without One Piece.
I probably wouldn't be making the show right now.
I wouldn't have gotten to interact with all of the lovely

(19:41):
people who've joined us tonight to be with us live, or any of
the others in our community who have supported and listened and
interacted with us the last fiveyears this project.
I've had so much fun sitting down week to week and talking to
my friends about your creation. So thank you, ODA, for all of
your hard work and dedication. And I look forward to seeing how
Kadu becomes King of the Piratesone day.

(20:02):
Now we're fucking talking. And although that's really not
how you say buggy, just so we'reclear.
It's phonetically speaking, I think.
It's exactly how you say it, I thought.
You weren't caught up. What the hell?
No, you definitely missed a few important letters and also AD
and and the word clown I. Mean in.
Fact, I think I think you just said the wrong person.
Me and. Khadu are on very intimate
terms, so I get I don't have to say his whole name.

(20:22):
Why are? You intimate with the duck.
Why are you intimate with the duck We.
Have a very intimately a relationship Waddle waddle.
And he waddled away Waddle, waddle, waddle yeah.
We, you know, we, we, we have heart to hearts all the time.
It's very it's very nice. Oh.
That's that's interesting. You have heart to hearts with
with Vivi's duck his. Name is Kadu but.

(20:43):
I mean, I'm just, well, I guess it's fair.
Well, Kadu to you apparently don't.
Reduce him down to his race, allright.
My bad. Yeah.
Geez. Fine.
You're right. Kadu.
Kadu gets to be their own. Their own creature.
Their own duck. It's true.
Thank you their. Own independent duck, all right.
Moving on from one controversialstatement to potentially another
next question here is what are two One Piece episodes you often

(21:05):
think about? What makes them so memorable?
I'll go first on this one. Where'd I write it?
You went first to the last one, all right.
Right if I shit shit, put the gun down.
No, I I won't. Actually, I'm gonna leave it
right here gonna. Let him have that, I think.
Jordy should go first. Whoa, wait, why me?
I. Also think Jordy should go
first, I didn't. Even say nothing we.
Got to RIP that Band-Aid off right now.
I I. Would have gone first, but I

(21:25):
wouldn't last on the last one. So I don't wanna, I don't wanna
clopen that's. Crazy.
All right, so first of all, I gotta say that we're we're doing
this during the 12 hour palooza thing and we will be watching
these episodes afterwards. I haven't.
Anyway, these are mine. Hit him episode 188.
This is the episode in Sky Pia where Kalgura and Nolan
developed their friendship. There's a lot to love about this

(21:46):
one. Kalgura's openness to learning
about Nolan, to learning about what Nolan Nolan knows, science
stuff, all that and Nolan's ability to appreciate the rich
culture in the best way he can. On top of this is the history of
these two. 400 years later and their descendants are still
seeking closure by events that occurred in such a short time
span. It's a real way of seeing how

(22:07):
the actions of the past affect those of the present.
Nolan, come back. Please.
Nolan, you've got to. I'll ring the bell so you can
find your way back to us. I.
Don't want you to lose sight of this island because one day I

(22:27):
want you to return, my dear friend.
Someday I know we'll meet again.Five out of five booms.
Nice. Respect, respect.
Did you have another one or was that just one?

(22:48):
Was that one episode or was thatthat?
Was just the one next one. This is a hard question because
it's it's difficult to encapsulate a single event into
one episode. Truth.
So this one is like my go to if I would've like gone to my head.
Episode 134. This is from a series of filler
episodes that highlighted the crew's strengths and this one
USOP learns about a family of firework makers who lost their

(23:10):
skills over the years. There's something interesting
about seeing the world from sucha grounded perspective.
No big battles or major villains, just a town.
I'm celebrating tradition. 7 outof 10 IGN The ring It stopped.
That was amazing. Who are you?
Who me? I'm.
A special messenger sent from heaven.

(23:30):
Call me Usop the Angel. Usop the Angel.
You're so. Full of baloney, hey?
Mr. Angel. Thank you though and I will do
what you said. Bro that's what I'm talking
about, can I expand on that? That is a filler episode and one

(23:53):
of my favorite like filler bits of all time.
There's like a a four episode stint where every straw gets
like their own time to shine with their own like little mini
like filler side adventure or whatever.
I really wish the anime would continue to do that because I
used to love those fucking episodes.
That Fireworks 1 is honestly oneof my favourites of all time
because of the scene where Usoppis trying to encourage the girl

(24:14):
to make her own fireworks and she's like literally at her
parents grave and she's like, I just don't know if I could do
it. Usopp voices I'll be at like,
you know, voice of dead parents kind of sounds a little weird,
but it's so wholesome. It's so damn wholesome in the
moment, dude. And then she looks like she goes
like, oh man, you must be a guardian Angel. close girl,
really close. He's a God, but yes.

(24:35):
I'll go next do it. The first one I'll mention, I, I
think that there's a lot of things that I particularly
appreciate about the Fishman Island arc that I think, you
know, I, I think I've heard overtime that Fisherman Island
is not a lot of people's favorites.
And despite the fact that I don't, I don't particularly care
for the antagonist Jody Jones ofthat arc, I find myself

(25:00):
typically remembering a lot of different moments from it.
From the the three brothers making the speech in the open,
in the open area, in In Defense of Shira Hoshi, and even Fisher
Tiger's back story and the the Queen's back story.
I forget her name off the top ofmy head.
Oh. So he may oh to.
He may thank you, but the one I'm going to specifically

(25:20):
mention is episode 568 where theark is mostly wrapped up at this
point. But Luffy has suffered some
grievous wounds and is in desperate need of a blood
transfusion. And who is there to help him
when all seems like it's lost? But Jinbei, who happens to have

(25:43):
the the correct blood type to beable to give to Luffy and make
sure that Luffy makes it throughthis battle that he just
endured. And it's not the first time
obviously that Jinbei has done something for Luffy or put
himself on the line for Luffy. But there's something more, I
guess, bonding about literally sharing blood with someone and

(26:04):
and being able to do that that for him after everything that
happened both in the arc and previously.
So I think about the bond of friendship that they share a lot
as I as I remember that arc. You can give him some of my
blood. It's type F Take as much as you
need. Wow, really?

(26:25):
Thanks, Team Bay. Wait, but the law?
What of it? I'm a pirate.
The other episode that I'll mention, and I don't think I
will ever, ever change my opinion on this when it comes to
questions of what my favorite episodes of One Piece are.
Episode 278 were in Annie's Lobby with Robin and everything

(26:46):
going on with Spandam and CP9. And we are wrapping up Robin's
back story and coming back to the the present day where she's
contemplating going back with Luffy and the gang and and Luffy
is trying his utmost to get her to just admit that she wants to
go back out to sea. And this episode harbors two of

(27:11):
the hypest moments in like the same 5 minute span.
There's both Soga King shooting down and burning the World
Government flag and Robin sayingthat she wants to live and her
exasperated, desperate almost, Idon't want to say childlike, but
like the the sentiment behind itis, is almost there where she

(27:32):
just has been been alone for so long, has had to depend on only
herself for so long, and she's finally allowing herself to
depend on someone else. And that I want to live echoes
through my brain verbatim all the time.
Robin. There's still something I want

(27:54):
to hear you say. Tell me you want to laugh.
I want to laugh. Take me with you.
Take me away from here. Truly iconic moment it.

(28:22):
Is truly an iconic moment. Can I can I chime in and and and
continue with an addendum to oneof my favorite episodes that
also stars Robin, please? Do.
One of my favorite episodes thatI can never stop thinking about
when I talk with people about why I love this stupid fucking
pirate anime so much is the episode where Robin first gets

(28:43):
on the boat and it's right on the coattails of Alabasta.
We just get done with the sayinggoodbye to Vivi.
Everyone's like, oh, I wonder ifVivi's getting on the boat.
She doesn't. Everyone's like, wow, that's
crazy. We do the hand thing that, you
know, I spawned many in a tattoofrom back in the day at Bon Clay
gets his, you know, 20 minutes of fame where he holds up the,
the, the Navy so that the strawscan get away.

(29:04):
And he goes just, you know, whenwe're, when we're friends, you
know, we, we always help each other out.
We go bye bond. And at the end of this, we're
all just sad that Vivi's gone. Who pops out of the woodwork but
none other than Nico fucking Robin for no fucking reason and
just goes man we finally escapedhim and all of the straws are
like what the fuck is happening? And it proceeds to just play

(29:27):
out. I love the chemistry among these
characters so much. And what transpires from here is
the quintessential narrative of what makes their dynamics
individually and with each otherwork so fucking well and be so
gravitating. Niko Robin, who is just arguably

(29:48):
the most intelligent person on there on the crew, very much
just like wants somewhere to call home for, you know, 5
minutes at the time. We low and boldly become much
more permanent later. But in the moment she's like,
I'm just looking for somewhere to call home for right now.
And all the other Chris straws are like, I don't believe you.
And what does she do to get her way?
She bribes Nami, she exists for Sanji.
She. Just trick she does the bit with

(30:09):
Luffy and Chopper that makes me die every time I see it.
And honestly this is where I'm like honestly usop now I know
why I like you so much. Because if I see that I also
would have just bent to her willin that moment, I would have
been like, never mind you're cool, you're funny.
I like I like the cut of your jib lady and the only one who
doesn't get played is I just love that dynamic so much

(30:30):
Episode I think it's 1:30 when when they stop goes through.
It's like quizzing her and just playing out this slice of life
shit. The the comedy and letting
letting the characters drive your attention is is what I love
most about this franchise. It really is.
Looks like you and I are the only holdouts on the ship of

(30:50):
Insanity. We shouldn't blame the others,
they're simple minds. Can't resist her charms.
Secondarily, I think one of my new favorites of all time, and

(31:10):
you know, it's a little recency bias, but it's got to be said,
fan letter slaps. Like in a.
Huge way I think everyone on this call has seen it because
it's technically not spoilers beyond the the war like.
Sabodi or whatever, or maybe like the return of Sabodi, one
of those two, yeah. It it takes place just after the

(31:32):
time skip, right before the straws set out for Fishman
island, and by extension, that means that all of the content
that is ever touched on within fan letter is pretty much
contained to the marine forward war.
And another thing that I love about this franchise that I feel
like Fan Letter really just encapsulates is, you know it it
has so, so much like staying power with like characters

(31:55):
within its own universe. Like random dudes that you never
think are going to be relevant for any other reason in the
story will show up hundreds of episodes later and have like a
major primary role for one reason or another.
Sometimes it's brown beard, sometimes it's Bon Clay.
And you know, I'm here for it. Either way, Fan Letter does a
really good job of both expanding on a smaller

(32:18):
characters, giving them like thefeeling of being like living and
breathing in its world that is so full of life and and and and
and craziness. And then also mirroring like
real world, like how how people perceive a lot of the shit that
they consume. Like when you got a bunch of
marines that have, you know, they only know Straw hat Luffy

(32:38):
by name, but they were there during the war and you know,
they all have. I, I don't want to spoil too
much about what the relationships within the, the,
the episode go to, but I think it is easily one of the most
gravitating pieces of media. And it really does to echo what
I find to be the best part of this show.
And that is bringing people together and getting them to

(33:00):
think about their lives and how it relates to the different
events or the messages that the show has been, you know, writing
about for years and years and years.

(33:28):
Very nice. Hell yeah.
Those are my 2. Is it my turn all?
You all right, fair warning, this, there's this blurb I wrote
starts off strong and then fallsapart halfway through because I
just started kind of throwing you at the wall.
My favorite One Piece episodes, my actual favorite episode in
the series so far is 978, which is far in the future, and
there's even some other cool episodes not too far after that,

(33:49):
which probably contests from my favorite episode in One Piece.
Now obviously I can't talk aboutthose, so I had to go back to my
roots. What did I love about One Piece
before 978? Before the time skip even?
The first thing I thought about was when Keys Drew popped up on
the scene for the first time andjust busted everyone's cheeks
for the first time ever. Sal Bodi is one of my favorite
arcs suits. All the cool character debuts,

(34:10):
the colors, designs, and everything, really.
And maybe there's something really intriguing about watching
an overwhelming force make theirfirst appearance with pomp and
circumstance. And that's what can also be said
when Kuma first showed up on Throw the Bark, the episodes I'm
referring to for Kizuru, it's either 4 O one or four O 2.
I had to like double at like double check again.

(34:30):
But it's basically when he like just whips all of the
supernova's asses and just, you know, seeing a guy made of light
and he's like a super colorful character, new Admiral and all
that. That was that's like a really
cool moment for me. Speed is weight.
Observe. This is what it feels like to be
kicked at the speed of light. And then the one for Kuma when

(34:58):
he's in Thriller Bark, it was when he first showed up.
It was when he shows up at the end after they beat Moria.
I think that was 376. I just thought back to that reel
I made like last year of, you know, everyone just kind of like
watching him, Zorro Shadow 1V1 him, Frankie, he's like talking
shit. And then Kuma just just sends a
little air paw paw through Frankie's chest.

(35:18):
And I was like, you know, I think I like watching characters
like this one because they're both enjoyable in my opinion.
But also, just like, you know, there's something kind of cool
and intriguing and and traumaticand every other type of emotion
I can think of when an overwhelming force with a really
cool design just shows up and beats ass.

(35:38):
I possess the power to deflect anything I wish.
You see, I ate the paw paw fruitand became a paw pawned human.
I'm not claiming that I know much about these 7 warlords, but
if this guy's power is kitten hands, what are we worried
about? I'm disappointed.

(36:06):
Cyborg, Frankie, if that's the extent of your power, you should
keep your mouth shut. I love that those are my
answers. Sick.
Also that time that Kizuru came flying in on a cannonball was
pretty sweet though. But.
What are you going to do about the second meteor?
Oh no, not. The second meteor.
Madura, why? Don't put Madura in this in this

(36:29):
anime. I, my heart can't take it go.
Back to your own we got Fuji. Tora Fuji Tora is better you.
Guys talking about your favoriteepisodes, just like wrangled my
noggin and I was like, damn, I could have picked that one.
I could have picked that one. I mean, there's a lot to pick
from, yeah. So I feel like with a question
like this, I, I default to because like there's episodes
like like the the Luffy versus USAP fight or the Mary episode

(36:50):
I. Guess that's specifically why I
I put in memorable in that favorite because favorite would
be way too hard of a challenge. Memorable is like something you
just remember. I.
Also tried really hard to stay away from like the quote UN
quote obvious answers. Yeah, I stick to the ones that
I, at least for this question, Itried to stick to two that I
like. I can play them back in my head
so much because I just can't getenough of them because they just

(37:13):
bring me that much joy. Moving on to the next one, all
right. Can't wait.
Next question, right? Next question, ease.
If we suddenly had a huge budget, what are three ways
you'd use it? And I assume this question
refers to this podcast. I assume I assume that is
correct if. One Piece suddenly had a huge
budget. What would?

(37:33):
What would? What could they possibly do?
What? Could one piece possibly do with
unlimited funds they give? Zorro, a bigger chest.
Naji would actually be dead. They'd give.
Zorro a bigger. Sword rather you make you make
it sound like they don't alreadytry.
We can get that four sword stylegoing finally.
Oh yeah, More budget, more swords, yeah.
That was holding back. ODA the madman himself has said

(37:55):
that Zorro apparently has the biggest chest in the series and
he's a fucking animal because White Beard and Kuma are right
there, no? Christians onto something the
reason they can't do 4 sword styles because it'd be too much
money to add in that four sword so they're like damn can't do it
yeah no money and. Then more importantly, ODA would
have to write how we got the four sword.
Like what special sword is that one going to be?
And he hasn't done that yet. So he'd have to like go back and

(38:17):
and figure that part out yet that.
Cost money. Posteri Manus.
There's just no way that ODA doesn't do this just on a meme
one day. Surely some cover story at some
point, yeah? What makes 4 sword styles or
Odell never going to happen? Not even like it's a fight,
they're just like Landon. Like he'll try to catch the a
sword in or land in between his butt cheeks.

(38:37):
Brother, no, he's never doing that.
I I would be shocked if that wasever a bit.
Ain't no way. Come on.
A boy can dream now. OK, what if alternatively he was
fighting somebody and you know how people will do like the hand
clap thing to stop a sword? What if he does that with his
cheeks? No, he's not doing that.
That's just not happening. Why?

(38:58):
Not no vision. Brothers y'all, Y'all are
fucking wild dude. I see it.
It's the budget. Thank you.
Thank you. It's all it's just a budget man,
I guess. I guess if it's just a budget.
But for real answer, I think I'll I'll just jump off with
there's mostly two things I haveto think about about a third.
But the two things that I would try to do with this podcast if

(39:19):
we had like unlimited funds is 1just hire people to like do all
the hard stuff for us or like the stuff that I don't
necessarily enjoy doing or like, you know, in my mind, I would
whatever Jordy does for the podcast in terms of like true,
like nitty gritty labor, I wouldlike ship that off to somebody
else who like gets his vision, gets his preferences, whatever.

(39:40):
So Jordy could take a fucking vacation and you know, Jordy's
not like bogged down in his lifewhere he can't go on trips.
He does that when he can. But like, I don't know, Jordy
does so much for this podcast that, you know, in any way,
shape or form that I can alleviate some of that, you
know, load on his plate. I would I would love to do if I
could other thing I would do. And this one is like really
meaningful to me for some fucking stupid reason.

(40:01):
I would buy like either a studioor like.
Content house essentially. So like we don't we don't all
have to live there, although it'd be kind of cool if we're
all roommates, but we I would love to just have a space where
we could all just work in the same room together.
And then from there we could theoretically do video based
concept if we wanted to, but primarily just so I have a less

(40:22):
likelihood of talking over you when I see you it eye to eye and
you're clearly talking and like we can read visual physical cues
or and blah, blah, blah. There's also who knows how much
more school stuff we can do, butjust being a person, stuff that
I mean, thought about were considered.
So that's two. What's the third one I would do?
I don't know. I don't know.
Come back to me. I got to think about that very.
Bold that you can you assume people read social cues.

(40:45):
Well, you know, we try. We, we do our best.
We. Work on it.
You work on it. I really want to because this is
one of the things on my list. Anyway, I really do want to re
echo this. I listen.
I don't have vision, but it's nosecret that a lot of work gets
done on this podcast. And I also want to lift the veil
a little bit. Geordie does 99.99% of the

(41:08):
technical stuff in the background as of late.
Christian does 95% of the logistics and scheduling and
then the rest of us show up. So passive income for them needs
to be a must at this point in time.
And I, I, I really can't say that enough.
I I know that's like the easy answer, but I feel like it needs

(41:30):
to be restated just how much effort and work these two
especially have been putting into this program for now,
probably going on the last, you know, two years.
Both of them have put in this much effort and they deserve
that. Now that being said, As for two
more things shit Doug, like whatelse do we need now we start,
but we just start buying other people like I don't know, we pay

(41:54):
them to do this shit. What the fuck do I know?
I don't got vision for this question is what I'm trying to
say. Give these people some money.
Give give them the bag and move on.
Why do I need three things here anyway?
So I just wanted to be outraged for three seconds.
You. Know what's it's here after you
real quick, maybe while you needtime to think.
I think I figure out my third one.
My third thing I would do if we had unlimited budget is make
other content, particularly content that I want to make it.

(42:19):
It could be underneath the same like umbrella brand or what have
you. Doesn't have to be.
But semi recently Jordy asked melike to the size, OK, like if
you can make other concept besides like what we do now,
like what would you do? And I've always had like ideas
about this, like what I would like to make and create in the
world. And I currently don't really
have an idea of something that'slike long term or like ever

(42:40):
living, but I constantly joke about it.
But it's like mostly serious when I say like the the few
panda view episodes we did way, way back in the day where we
just like kind of turned on the mic and talked about literally
anything. I would just love to do that.
I I'm I think I'm pretty good. I just going just give me
something to yap about and I'll keep yapping and we'll have 500
different tangents from whereverwe started from and it probably

(43:01):
won't make any sense. But I know that in two weeks
when you know it gets released and I forget that conversation
ever happened, that I'll laugh about it for the rest of my
life. That I will have some stupid,
dumb, memorable quote from either myself or one of you guys
that gets said and gets shared and kept on the Internet for all
ages. I think about that kind of
content that I would love to make to decide like that almost

(43:23):
genreless variety type thing, you know?
I would also like a space to like, hey, this space is where I
talk about the dumbest shit everthat floats in my mind.
But also there's like more meaningful shit that I would
like to talk about because I don't honestly have time or the
certain people in my life to talk about these particular
things. You know I want a platform.
Basically, you want a soapbox, not.

(43:43):
Necessarily a soapbox I want a sandbox what the way people like
Minecraft because they can do whatever they want in it
essentially as long as they havelike the time, energy and
creativity. I want that, but like in a
podcasting sense, in a in a think tank kind of way, I.
Mean you can do that right now though, you're right but.
Well, I think he's, I think he'smildly operating under the

(44:05):
assumption that this large budget would also come with a
lifting of time constraints fromother aspects of life such as a
regular job because then oh. So you want to quit your job and
just do this full time? Is that what I'm hearing?
If I could, I think I would. I should not.
Have you? That'd be cool.
Yeah, I, I tried to distance myself from, from that specific
type of thinking just because itwould be great.
It would be great to have more time to do panda view stuff.

(44:28):
And I think one of the ideal things was I, I regret, I
regret, regret not having time or the, the brain power to put
into doing Patreon extra stuff like we wanted.
And part of that is something that I, you know, I mean, can't
go back and fix it now, but we're trying to do as much as we
can with the, with the discord producer stuff.

(44:48):
But I think if I'm, if I'm restraining myself to, I live my
normal life, but this specific thing just has an insane budget
and there's no like I can't quitmy regular job or whatever.
I think I follow Justin's sentiment and it would just be
kind of fun to have an office space or record like a recording
area that we could just go to. I know, you know, obviously,

(45:11):
obviously we, some of us live indifferent areas from each other,
which is part of why we do this remote and over Discord and
stuff. But it would be awesome if even
as many of us could go to 1 shared space and then we could
not only just be able to experience recording live with
each other, but also just have this decoratable room or two

(45:33):
where we could just put a bunch of cool shit.
You know, that sort of represents each of us or our
personalities in this podcast. And just or as an amalgamation
of stuff that maybe you don't have room for in your own
living, normal living space and have maybe had to give up on
wanting in the past. But be it.
But with this, you could have a space to put that on this play

(45:53):
and be able to call it your own sort of thing.
So I I'd love that. Secondly, I would in terms of
things that can kind of help build the podcast, I'd love to
hire a team of people that do social media full time.
Yeah, because we suck and. Very.

(46:14):
True, very true. Look, Jordy, Jordy's doing his
best right now, putting up the putting up the reels and stuff
right now and it's great. I've seen a bunch of them.
I don't have Instagram, so I don't really, I don't really see
them. It'd be.
So much better they can. Be of course everything can
always be better, but there if we had people.
Not me, I'm perfect. I yeah, of course.

(46:37):
Salt of the earth. If we just had a bunch of people
that could do that full time, that has been their dedicated
job in the past for years, that would be great.
Because then not only would it expose our podcast to a much
wider group of people, probably if we've gotten the right
people, but it can drive all of the things that I already like

(46:59):
about this, which is bringing people into the discord and
having the cool fan mails or people that draw art.
I love when I love seeing the people that draw art for us or
when we make a stupid request onthe podcast and someone goes,
Hey, I did this thing because I've got I've got I had a little
extra time on my hands. And then they just and then they
just throw it in there and it's like, awesome.

(47:19):
It's so cool. So if there was if there was the
ability to do all of that, I think that starts with getting
our podcast more well known and social media is a big part of
that. So I, I would I would love that.
The third is kind of falls in line, but after the recent
release of our first merch store, which has gone amazingly

(47:44):
by the way, you guys that are listening have, have have gone
as far as I'm concerned above and beyond what I figured we
would do. Like we have already been able
to make as much money as we thought we were going to with
it. Not that we were doing it for
the money. We just wanted to put out cool
merch for the first time and seewhat that process is like.
But we've sold even more stuff than we anticipated.

(48:08):
And now I want to, I want to be able to, to, to do that more
often. Or even if, like if this in this
case where we just have an insane budget or a huge budget,
be able to keep something up full time and then just rotate
stuff in and out of the store rather than having to close it
down for the summer and then do a fall collection or whatever
the next thing is that we do. So I, I, I would, I would love

(48:31):
to have people to consult on formerch ideas as well.
Like just have a group of peoplethat we can consult and be able
to talk to and bounce ideas off of or get ideas from for that.
Manifesting the memes into dreams, if you will.
That's what I'm saying. I want to sell an actual golden

(48:51):
ham. I want to.
I want to watch somebody's dog go to town on a plushy golden
ham. You know what I mean?
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, A. $1,000,000 each
A. $1,000,000. Each it'll be like the one we'll
we'll sell regular ham bones andthen somebody will just randomly
get a gold one one day and like a Charlie and Chocolate Factory
golden ticket and then. The Platinum Ham is our
Christmas special. Wait, in this instance, why is

(49:11):
the gold more rare than the platinum?
Wait, wait. We got to rethink this.
Listen, I don't know what to tell you.
We we defined that a long time ago, so we ain't changing it
now. I'm just saying like, dude, we
should have like a billion gold ones and then the one is the
platinum. Or actually, we can talk about
this later. We can workshop.
We can workshop. We can workshop, but we can
workshop, you know, I, you know, now that I think about it a
little bit more there, there's there might be 11 singular thing

(49:35):
I would do with an infinite budget If if it wouldn't detract
from episodes already, at least it would be kind of cool to re
edit some of the at one point intime, we had a version of our
cast, I think through water 7 where we constantly had like
sound effects and and we broughtlike, you know, actual sound

(49:56):
bites from the from the show back into the into the podcast.
Didn't didn't get in trouble forthat.
By the way, probably a little wild.
We probably should have gotten in trouble for that.
It would be really cool if we could do that with every episode
we've released since, but you know, we don't have the time for
that. Oh, you.
Want to go back and re edit them?

(50:18):
Oh God, do do that with all the episodes we've done since, just
like pay somebody to like, do that.
It doesn't end around there, it ends around right around
Shabundi. Sabodi.
Oh, OK. Yeah, I don't.
Want to comment on this? So on YouTube anything and
everything could be copyrighted and we'll get claimed right?
Just look at our fucking YouTube.
Not the point. What I do find interesting

(50:39):
though, is that Spotify either doesn't have those same rules or
they just don't give a fuck because there's a podcast that I
listen to and it's called like matches of the month.
The guy does reviews of his favorite wrestling matches in
that month. And the editor always has, you
know, when he moves from like sections to section, he will
have audio clips from, you know, the commentary or just like the,

(51:02):
the camera feed, whatever, you know, stuff that clearly isn't
their stuff, right. But I think would like, I would
argue is fair game in terms of like building an atmosphere or
like giving people like a visualin their mind as you're
listening to a guy and see what he's talking about, kind of sort
of especially if you've seen it already.
So I look at stuff like that andI'm like, listen, those guys are
like professional Youtubers. Their YouTube video of that same

(51:23):
content does not have all of that editing.
So these guys aren't stupid. They're very smart and they're
very knowledgeable about what platform does what, how to
operate on set platforms that they use.
And you know, all like the big YouTube analytic stuff, like
they got that down packed. So I think that I agree with
Brendan, like I think I'd be cool to do that if we could.
It'd be even better if we could make it work on YouTube if.

(51:43):
If not, if only to like it like, like it's not that I think, you
know, our quality has diminishedor anything, but it would be
nice to like unify the style that we that we kind of built at
one point in time. To shed a bit of light on the
back end of that, it's just something I'm really reluctant
to talk about because I don't like to share the amount of

(52:04):
effort that it takes to do that type of editing.
Yes. And that is not something we
need to express here. But well, no, no, I just, it's a
very labor intensive process that I feel to be sustainable
would take one person doing likefull time for at least half a
week maybe. Yeah.
And to pay somebody to do that, it would actually be kind of

(52:26):
bonkers. Yeah.
The amount that we've saved by going we'll do it ourselves has
been astronomic. I mean, I know.
I can't even imagine. I trust me, I don't have the
dollars of like. Yeah, the sub of them is crazy.
Like I'm hearing a lot of like streamers starting a podcast
nowadays and they're like, yeah man, we're so like over budget
and stuff. This podcast took us like 50K to

(52:46):
make and stuff and I'm like, howare you spending 50K on a
podcast? It's.
Easy dude, this is all they're. Renting warehouses or rooms to
stream in decor and crap employees.
Yeah, they're. Like they're renting spaces and
they're getting like brand new furniture and like the top end
mic and I'm just like, just giveme like 1000 bucks, I'll set you
up. They also just have like, whole
like teams and like, yeah, well,we have a videographer, we have

(53:09):
our audio guy. I have my assistant here and she
just kind of does like her regular job.
But she's here on the podcast. She would say hi.
I'll do it for the scraps. Yeah.
So that's like the the level of support that would be needed to
run a sustainable operation, which is rough.
So if. Any of our unpaid interns are
looking for some extra credit. Is a joke?
Is a joke a joke? That's.
Not what brought us here. We we talked about this.

(53:30):
If we had unlimited funds, Thesethese are these are dreams,
Justin. All right, fucking relax.
Yes, but I I get that sentiment,Brendan.
It's it's it'd be nice. I do.
I have that on the brain like often.
Just how would I go back and read dildos along with like a
lot of the early episodes? Because I feel like the early
episodes are really what's hurting us.
People are listening to those first like 100 episodes and
being like, well, I don't know if I can get any of this one

(53:51):
actually. I'm going to be so fucking for
real. I really think because actually
one of my favorite episodes of ours is one that I know you
probably went fucking like ham on the the Pell sacrifice
podcast episode when we're. Talking in tin cans.
I'm talking about before that, like Nami's arc, like a little
bit after that, because we didn't really start like putting
in the the format and all that stuff until a little bit before

(54:15):
Alabaster. I would agree, yeah.
We, we, we really hit our stridein terms of like style by around
the grand line, give or take. Yeah, yes, that, that, that I
would agree with. So.
That's like stuff I would fix upthe the overall like arching
theme I always went for for edits was I was always trying to
capture the experience of an individual who was watching One

(54:35):
Piece. So like they would get that same
feeling from listening to the cast, which I know is possible.
I've proven it. I just, it's just like, how can
I do that sustainably? Yeah.
I. Mean it's it's like I don't, I
don't even know if it's anythingthat's on my mind because like I
find that we have an inferior quality at other stages of the
cast, like whether it be now or even like super far in the past.
But I mean there, there might besome part of that too.

(54:57):
But more importantly, it would be like, well, maybe not more,
but the thing in my mind, it would be really nice to just
like you would like unify the style so that everyone always
knows exactly what they're getting.
It's true. And never and never like
deviates from that. So Jordy, what are what are
your, what are your 3 here? Yeah.
What are your three things, Jordy?
You haven't really said much. You guys pretty much said like

(55:17):
the bulk of it, so I guess I'll change my first one.
I think I would try to find someone who would be able to
take the reins in term of creative process, I guess.
So this isn't like support stuff.
This like support stuff is like layer, but I think a lot of the
the fun stuff of this isn't necessarily the technical.
It's like being able to see a room and being like, I can do

(55:41):
this, I can do that, I can do that.
The actual doing part is just time sensitive.
It's just like that's like just doing it.
Thinking about that is the actual work to me.
I guess like that is the the bulk of it, like the yes, having
the very, very vague vision and then slowly morphing it into an
actual visible thing. You can actually see your

(56:02):
experience or like just coming to fruition.
Yeah, that, that part is like the bulk of it.
Spending the brain power on the creative process is extremely
daunting. I.
Would say, I wish I was better on this and myself, where I
think part of my lack of creativity that I view in myself
is like, I'm just too easily content with what I have.
So like, if like everything we have with this podcast, if we

(56:25):
just changed nothing, I'd be like, yeah, I'm cool with this.
Like I see no issues. Like it's working.
No one's like yelling at us about something.
You know, we're coasting. We're we're doing OK in my mind.
I got no vermin to complain. Majority is usually coming up
with like these cool ideas for like especially like activities
or like interactive things that are like I don't even get to the
to the starting line of thinkingabout, let alone running the

(56:46):
race of, you know, OK, I have this idea.
Where do I go with the kind of thing like I never even had that
initial thought of like could wedo more?
Like I never have that idea. And I think it's like something
of a fault in myself that's. A difficult one because I've
been trying to like just write alot of stuff down and creativity
is like one of the things that Ifeel like it's easy to say, do
this, to do, to do that. But the more I try to like

(57:07):
actually interact with people and I'm like, oh, maybe it's not
that easy. Maybe something that just like I
don't, I wouldn't say come naturally.
Maybe I've built a muscle that has gone beyond what like a lot
of people know or like can actually he's.
Got a muscle in his brain that went plus Ultrafox.
You heard it here first. Yeah, I don't, I don't know.

(57:27):
It's just like, I I believe it. It just started as a small
little seed and then it became massive.
And then to me it's like, oh, but you can just do this and
this and this and it's everybodyelse.
It's like, yeah, I don't, I don't know, You just kind of
skipped a lot of steps. A.
Man's automated so many processes in his mind I'm.
Like, oh, OK, that's cool. So yeah.
Yeah, I, I think you've got a very specific way of thinking in

(57:47):
some aspects. And it really has helped with
the podcast, even bring it to a level that I think it, it
wouldn't have reached if you didn't have that way of
thinking. And it's been great because it,
it helps me feel like I can do more things too.
And I think it, I think it boosts everyone else's desire to
want to do things. And I think that's fine that

(58:09):
sometimes that I think I think it comes naturally to you now
especially, but even before or like you, you probably had to
work at it to some degree, whether you realized it or not
too. So it it's definitely it's
definitely true that that some of this stuff is it's just more
easy for you because you're justyou're just you're just build
diff dude, real. Build diff I.
Can see you make it kids, it works.

(58:31):
It's called false confidence. False confidence turns into real
confidence eventually, yeah. When when does false confidence
just become confidence? I feel like that's that's just
like moving the goal posts. You got no response to that one.
Do you shoe All right? I, I don't, I was trying to
figure out what where to go nextfrom this because I, the other
one was really just because I'vebeen talking to this about the

(58:53):
to a bunch of people and I'm like, how do I get a very, very
big building? How?
Do I get a big building? Do you need to watch that big?
Big I know you know that guy. So not yet, not yet, not yet.
I don't it's it's like this is one of those abstract things.
I don't know what shape it is, Ijust know I want to put
everything in it. What does everything mean?

(59:15):
OK, hold on. Wait.
I OK. Does anyone remember Rob?
Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory, where he literally just bought a
warehouse and he said this is myplayroom.
That's what Jordy's asking for. But like more abstractly, yes.
That I literally put here by a very large building to play in
cow. Chop.
Literally. Yeah.
This is literally just cow chop.You.
You've invented cow chop again. Yeah.
The like everyone, everyone eventually does this.
Like every every creator eventually just gets a warehouse

(59:36):
because they're like I, I'm tired of moving from here to
here to here, put everything in a long spot and all this.
So I don't know, because it's like I love working out.
I like making stuff. I like having space to play in
and I like having people around for like events and stuff.
So how do I combine all of this, plus any potential feature stuff
into one spot A? Warehouse, of course.
Well. A warehouse is really just four
walls and a roof. What you put in it is up to you.

(59:59):
But I don't know, a warehouse just seems very limiting, yeah.
No, I wouldn't want to. I would want to live in a
warehouse. I want the amenities of like an
actual like livable place well. This is like The Sims, man.
You just bought the building, but it's your job to like
furnish it and and like make your imagination with it.
You know the. Sims Oh, I know, but.
Yeah, we don't want to do. I don't.
He doesn't want to do that part. He's just, it's exactly what

(01:00:19):
he's saying. He wants freedom, but not
literally a blank canvas. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I feel that
too. Trust me I I am very anti
canvas. Honestly kind of saying.
I I hate the canvas. Just just a.
Warehouse would be a nightmare. Also, yeah, I know the amount of
work it takes to maintain buildings and stuff, so that
like is just a nightmare in itself.
Facts. So I first have to learn how to

(01:00:40):
prevent all that. I have to go, OK, what's the
best building stuff I can do? Best material best.
It just becomes a nightmare the more I try to, like, actually
bring it to fruition. I can't.
Tell if Geordie's trying to become a homeowner or a
landlord, I said. Dude.
These are the questions that plague us as as human beings.
Trust me. Do I rent or do I buy?
Do I rent or do I buy? Yeah.

(01:01:02):
And then my last point was really just the him use the
remaining funds for appetizers at Applebee's Hashtag bring
$0.50 wing to Mac hell. Yeah, I.
I love that you could universally bring these two on
your level so quickly with so few words.
Listen. Man, you don't understand what's
happening in Applebee's. I'll be sick to us.
You guys really are just one fucking brain.

(01:01:22):
Like you have a single brain stem, I swear to God.
I have had life changing momentsin Applebee's parking lot.
Man. You don't understand, brother.
I haven't thought about Applebee's appetite, Kizers or
not, in years. Years.
You haven't lived. You haven't lived.
You're. You're you're like the guy in
the back who's like, oh, I bet you don't like Cheddar Bay
Biscuits. And I'm I'm the guy who's like,

(01:01:42):
honestly, they're kind of mid. They're a little mid if.
I ate a red Lobster. I bet I would be offended by
that statement. That is truly mid.
Those are bad you. Know what's mid Olive Garden
breadsticks? That's me that is so meant.
They could be a little stale sometimes, but I think Olive
Garden bread is okay. It's okay, I.
Think it's just too thick and because of its surface area,

(01:02:04):
there's no there's like no, there's no flavor to the bulk of
it. This is a.
Madman this is. Incredible.
I can't believe you've done this, Jordy.
He's. An animal brother.
It's hard to hate free. It's hard to hate free though
that's. Valid like I.
I just can't bring myself to hate free damn.
It's not free, you're paying forit.
Are the cheddar biscuits not free?
No. The cheddar biscuits you have to
pay like $2.00 for or something like that.
That's $2.00 go. Fuck that dude.

(01:02:26):
Absolutely not. Absolutely.
By the gas cheddar biscuits. Probably better than the
breadsticks I. I dude they're too greasy.
I remember eating one before andI'm like I can't believe people
like pay for this. Man a a fucking garlic
breadstick thing from Olive Garden.
Just a a finger wing of bread and and his brush with garlic
butter and it's free. Maybe.
And it's free, baby brother. Hold on, hold on.

(01:02:48):
He's he has a point. I don't disagree with him on
that front. You're putting a lot of stock
and free is the best spice here.Dude, you're.
Absolutely right. I love free he has.
A point, but I don't think it elevates them above cheddar
biscuits I. Think it absolutely clears
Cheddar Bay biscuits. I don't think free is the MSG of
life. I'll, I'll put it like that.
It's good. It's like, you know, salt and
pepper, but it's not MSG. Free is the hold on.

(01:03:11):
No I I want you to retract that.I think MI think it is.
I think free is the MSG of life.Absolutely.
I would say that beyond a shadowof a doubt.
Shit. Am I wild for that statement?
I might be wild for that statement, you know.
Justin, he's not wrong. He's not wrong, no.
You're an I think, I think that's a genuine that is a good
statement. He's.
Right. No, he's right.
A Warren beer that's free is better than a cold when you pay
for it. The the free makes it cold and

(01:03:31):
no facts. Absolute facts.
Thank you. Thank you for coming to my Ted
Talk. It's it's just hit different
though. It just hit different.
Yeah. It's just be like that.
It's true, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, all.
Right. You want to move on to the last
two things, All right. Next up is Platinum Ham.
Let's do it. Let's go.
Actually three Well. Really.
Three but. OK, so I would like to be

(01:03:53):
reminded of the rules also for the audience because I, I, I'm
sure they need it as well. Platinum Ham, yeah, is who we
are going to be giving the golden ham to between now and
the last time we did an anniversary cast.
Correct. OK, now the events of the last
anniversary cast. Believe so, which was remind me
I would. Definitely say like dress Rosa.
When was that? Maybe I feel like we were

(01:04:14):
dressed with for a while. Like the end of dress Rosa or
like did the last one cover Dress Rosa is what I need to
know I'm. Pretty sure we were in the midst
of dress. Rosa somewhat, and I.
Feel like we would have given the platinum and so doflamingo
potentially or law one of the two I.
You know, because here, here's where I am.
I think we're at a little bit ofa weird point at this time if we

(01:04:34):
consider all the content that we've had thus far with where
we're at. But there is a very clear stand
out individual who has nothing but WS on his fucking resume for
like the last 150 episodes. And his name is Chimbe.
Incorrect. Damn his.
Name is Brooke because he's the Bony, beautiful, fantastic man.

(01:04:59):
He comes in the whole cake with a plan, with a vision and he
delivers time and time again. Meanwhile, back in Zou, he was
rocking that drip. He was he was having a great old
time. He he told the story about how
Sanji left and made arguably a terrible song about Cat Viper.
I'll give him that. But like it was still like fun.
It was fine, whatever. And then even in even though I

(01:05:21):
guess it wasn't in dress, but you know, who cares?
Brooke has been an MV fucking P for the last like 150 EPS.
That's why he is my platinum hand picked this afternoon.
You know, it's really hard to consider these things when
recency bias has a vice grip on my brain.
But I think spin facts here. Thank you.
That's all I wanted to say I'd be.
Lying if Brooke wasn't on my like short list of characters.

(01:05:43):
I agree. I wish Brooke had more
especially that because I think he's still with all of what he's
saying. I think he's still I think he's
still been shortchanged in a lotof cases with between now and
the last time we did an anniversary.
I you know what you know who's also on my list of of contenders
for Platinum ham and we haven't even seen him at his presence

(01:06:05):
was his presence was only duringthe Dressrosa arc.
He doesn't exist in in whole cake whatsoever, but the time
that I had with him was so good that he ended up on my list.
I don't think I ever had a bad time when Fuji Tora was on my
screen dude. Brother, you're, you're not

(01:06:27):
wrong. I there, there's a lot of facts
there. There's a lot of facts.
That's a wild one, I. Fuji Tora was such a delight
amongst all of the things that were happening in Dresserosa.
Obviously there were parts of itwhere he was kind of taking a
backseat also, but when he was involved.
And then there's the end of Dresserosa where he's having
that whole thing with Luffy and it just I just it's so good.

(01:06:49):
And he's so much fun to have on the other side of the aisle from
the pirates, but still be like, yeah, I I get it, guys.
Like this is this is tough. Like he's seeing the internal
battle that Fujitora has throughout Dressrosa between
wanting to act as as a Marine but also wanting to act in the

(01:07:10):
name of his justice was one of the best parts of Dressrosa for
me. I.
Feel that? And I would absolutely take more
Fujitora at any given available opportunity.
I said Jim Bay, but like he. Spitting hot fire did.
Justin, Justin, said Somebody. Mostly because I forgot that one
recently buys and also I forgot Zoe was an ARC and so I'm left

(01:07:34):
here wondering what do. All right, let me hold off on
that. Let me because I might sway you
here. Oh.
He's got, he's got a whole thingready.
He's got a whole thing prepared.I want to make sure you don't
switch teams before he. Always has a whole thing.
We don't switch teams here, Justin.
All right. I like to nominate Jim Bay for
the Platinum Ham I took and takeconsideration when was the last
time I remember doing this, and I believe we haven't actually

(01:07:57):
done a Platinum Ham since Fishman maybe did.
We not do one last anniversary, don't remember.
Surely we did one last time. I.
Don't. I don't recall.
We did. Oh, we might.
Actually it might be true because normally I think
platinum hams were like an end of the arc thing and we were in
the middle of Dressrosa so we might not have.
Was our last anniversary episodescuffed at the end?
Yeah, it was. Just like a bad time I remember.
There was one like big special recording where like some files

(01:08:20):
got corrupted. No scuffed how?
And like we we just had like thethe the actual episode that got
released like ended shortly. I I.
Think you're talking about that time that we need like we made a
pirate ship or something like that, or like a pirate.
Crew yeah the pirate crew on waswas upsetting because we had
like a lot of fun on that and then the recording just got
messed up yeah and that was likethat was dirtiest question oh
the. Giraffes one.

(01:08:40):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
All right, So as I continue here, Gin Bay's contribution so
far have been as a leader to thefishermen, A moral compass to
those around him, and most notably, being an anchor to
Luffy, having guided Luffy past the point of utter grief.
Gin Bay's equalities as a character and necessary for the
story to progress. Real wisdom is only acquired
through experience. Having experienced racial

(01:09:01):
injustices, watched as Fisher Tiger and Queen Altohime lost
their lives attempting to fight for equality, and witnessed his
respected eye light white beard die at the hands of the
honorless. So in times when any other
character would have given into emotional despair, his first
instinct is to maintain composure for others sake, and
that is why he's the most qualified for this award.
Son, I think. Geordie got me.

(01:09:22):
Geordie knew what I was feeling and he was able to give me the
words and needs to stand strong in my conviction.
In my heart of hearts, I really do think is Jim Bay.
Jim Bay is such like a anchor ofa character for really almost
anybody he interacts with. He's just like a solid hand in
all ways and shapes and forms and stuff.
Jim B. Jim B's just kind of goaded.
You need someone to pilot a ship, Jim B's got you.

(01:09:43):
You need a strong fighter, Jim B's got you.
Need a guy who could actually swim in the water and not die,
Jim B's got you. You need a liaison to Fishman
Island and maybe his race in general.
Jim B's got you. Jim B Jim make you do it all.
You need some. Blood stick that shit in my arm
right now some. Chicken nuggies at 2:00 AM Jim
B's got you, that's what. I'm saying you want someone to
stare down an emperor of the seaand not even flinch once and

(01:10:04):
fear no death. Jimbei got you.
Jimbei fears no man or woman gotan agenda.
You know Jimbei? Was also on my list of
contenders. I just wanted to put Fujitor out
there too because he's an unorthodox pick.
Yeah, my list gets more expansive if I consider the fact
that we're not only talking about Whole Cake and Zoe.
If we do go as far back as like Dressrosa or even Punk Hazard

(01:10:24):
and stuff like that, or Fishman Island I.
Would I would easily include Dressrosa for sure I.
Mean. Dress and punk for sure, because
I don't think. I don't think we've done 1.
I don't. Think it's going to change the
results here today, but I do think that if we're going that
far, I mean Dolph Lamingo and Corazon, if not one or both of
them together deserve some kind of shout out there.

(01:10:45):
I. Would avoid 100%.
Shout out Doflamingo. Their dynamic and story are just
so much fun and Dolph Lamingo isjust such a fun fucking
character in terms of a villain. He absolutely deserves some
recognition for You know, obviously we had we had enough
of them over 100 episode span. But I mean, honestly, did we

(01:11:06):
though? Like he was pretty, he was a
good villain. He was a fun villain and Corazon
such a delight. Look at that cutie.
Look at that cutie down there. So we just posted a GIF.
Sorry about that. Also shout out to My boy Law and
it's not on some fanboy shit. I think that character is
actually compelling, especially in Jess Rosa.
Mostly because it's his arc. I.
Think law is compelling too, butlike he doesn't he doesn't get
the the the platinum he doesn't get the platinum for this he's.

(01:11:27):
Top five? He's top five, all right.
Top ten you. Can be your top five.
He's on the board. Not on my board at all, but
sure. Sounds like Jinbei wins though,
yeah. Damn, son.
I'm I'm totally OK with this Jinbei.
Jinbei has become a quick favorite of mine since since
Fishman for sure. He's a man's man, he's a homie

(01:11:48):
all. Right, blocking in Jinbei for
the platinum ham. The 5th anniversary Platinum ham
Let's. Go.
Did you think I would falter? The man who I have chosen to
follow will surely be king of the Pirates someday.
I can't be intimidated by a mereemperor of the sea.

(01:12:11):
Damn, we're doing this for five years?
That's crazy. We have.
Been in fact doing this for fiveyears.
Yes, that is indeed the case. Yeah, it is a little crazy.
And here's to another 10. Oh yeah.
Please no. Maybe.
Not one piece, you know. Podcasting.
Please no. What do you mean 10?
More years of this hell Yeah brother.
God how how long is this anime gonna go?
I I thought we're on our last like 50.

(01:12:31):
Yeah. I mean, there's at least five
more years of One Piece and thenwe gotta move on to something
else. Oh, yeah.
Well, that OK, Well, that's different.
Yeah, yeah, that's different. That's different.
If you listen back to our first episode the the the Remixed 1,
you say in that ODA claims it would have been done by 2024.
What year are we in? Yep, I bet I did you.
Do say that. I bet I did.

(01:12:52):
I vividly remember you. Know in the year of our Lord
2020, I probably would have believed that too.
Knowing where we are now, I'd belike brother, we got another 7.
I think we cut it like 20. 35 for sure.
It's got to be the. Dude every every like 2 years
for sure. Way we go more than five years,

(01:13:13):
surely I, I. Do genuinely believe I, I sort
of feel like we we've got 20-30 like as a possibility, but if I
was a betting man, it's somehow going to get into 2032 or
something. You can't keep getting away with
it. This man's going to find a way
to make it 10 years. He's going to find a way to make
10 more years. Look man, as long as we catch up

(01:13:33):
before the end, I don't even care We.
Will. Don't worry, we will the.
Idea that we didn't do a platinum ham.
The last one kind of annoys me. So can we do like a retroactive
like a quick one? If you can give me a window.
It was middle of Dressrosa, right?
Probably. I don't think that's true.
We weren't really. We were.

(01:13:54):
I just looked at the episodes that we were roughly between
when the when the anniversary episode came out and we were
still in the Coliseum. She Sabo, Sabo was still
fighting in the Coliseum at thattime.
I don't think we would have given a still Flamingo yet.
We didn't know shit about him. I didn't know shit about him.
I don't know if we would have like known a kiros.
That's kiros. Yeah, I was.
Just to say Kiros was kiros on the list.

(01:14:16):
Damn, give it to a fuck. I don't think we would have
given. We wouldn't have known anything
about Kiros either. Yet it would have been, it would
have most. I don't think it would have been
anything in Dressrosa, to be honest with you.
We had finished Fishman and Punkat that point.
It probably would have came fromthere.
I I. Would it would be me, Christian,
fighting between Fisher Tiger and Otohime, and me, ready to

(01:14:37):
strangle him? Yeah.
Probably probably would have gone to Fisher Tiger or
something back in those days. Yeah, I was thinking fish tiger.
I think that's, I think that's probably likely.
But yeah, my my retroactive votewould be for Fisher Tiger,
though that's. Fisher Tiger a real.
One in a one piece of the lime first.
We've got not one but 2 platinumhams.
Why can we do that without breaking the rules?

(01:14:57):
Don't ask. Me.
We do what? We want around here, don't.
Ask, don't ask questions. We make the rules, yeah.
Yeah, yeah. Somebody put a GIF of Caesar
Clown in here. Man.
He's making the list. He ain't making the list.
Sure. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
We got a great laugh, though. Great laugh.
Fucking S to your laugh. The he made would have been a
good pick. My issue with what the he made

(01:15:19):
was the, I don't know, Fisher Tiger, I feel like had just a
harsher experience in the, like, entire racial issues.
It's just he had like, actually felt the brunt of it from all
angles. Yeah.
I I don't hate Otahime as a character nor do I hate your
political views. I just aligned myself more
personally with Fisher Tiger. Like they're both great.
Otahime and and Fisher Tiger hadswapped platforms.

(01:15:42):
I would have gone to the platform I agree with, which
would in this case now be Otahime.
Yeah, I wouldn't, I wouldn't definitely not pick it for his
views on the way of dealing it more about his his experience
and like the his impact on othercharacters.
I would agree with that. It's.
Crazy how the amount of stuff that like stands back to to
Fisher Tiger, Yeah. A revolutionary.
Truly, it's. Very.
It's very interesting to see thethe branching butterfly effect

(01:16:03):
that he had on this world. If there's no one else who can
challenge me, I'm the new leaderof the Fishman District.
Call me Tiger. We're all brothers now.
Your blood is my blood, so I swear that I'll protect it.
I'll fight for the lives of every Fishman.

(01:16:25):
All right, in opposing fashion, let's go the other way.
This one, this one is new. This is this is a new award, the
Rusty Hot Dog Award, Most useless character of the year.
Or I guess the last couple arcs. The easiest, easy easy answer.
Are you ready for this Aristocroc?

(01:16:45):
What Aristocroc. Bro that man's not even in the
game. Get out of here is.
That fuck that guy did you? See how dapper he was?
It's half the forest he's in. Come on, Masonry purpose.
Zero purpose whatsoever. He's he's from Whole Cake.
He's such a minor, minor character where he's just a
giant crocodile with a top hat and a bow and he eats the candy

(01:17:07):
bridge or whatever so they can'tget through the forest.
I have a real answer. This man comes out with like a a
side BD character. Like you want to talk?
You want to talk about like BCD plot, characters that mean
nothing to story. Give it a pound, then pounds.
Pounds great. He's really useless, doesn't do
anything that's. Untrue.
He distracts oven when they're on the run at.

(01:17:28):
Least he at least he try bro. Rest of croc is not even worth
the contention. Checkmate.
Useless. They could have done it without
him. That's they could have done it
without him. OK, trying doesn't mean he would
less useless. OK, look, look, I'm going to go
first because I feel like I havea strong sway here, OK?
I feel like I have a strong position, OK, This individual is
yet to have any shining moments that I can remember, from

(01:17:50):
Fishman Island to Whole Cake. They've yet to really have a
moment that I can really recall and be like, that was amazing,
Chopper. I agree, just he read my mind
bro. Chopper was on the brain.
This this is none other than theuseless, useless chopper.
I Oh my God, I was right. I do it.
Yes he is a doctor and makes theBoo boos feel better but I think

(01:18:13):
all of the main characters he has yet to show us anything of
worth and we should just eat himand have Law join the creep
hold. On I have mixed feelings about
this proposal, no. No, no, no, we don't we.
Don't have to kick him off the. Journey.
We just make him Law's key chainagain, yeah.
That was a good bit. You know, I you know, I I feel
like chopper, obviously he doesn't get the respect that he

(01:18:36):
deserves as an actual, you know, main character in this
franchise. He's he he he is just a mascot
at this point. I guess like the only
alternative to the statements that you're making, Geordie
would be like Punk Hazard content where, you know, like he
was very adamant about, you know, protecting the children
and making sure that they, you know, a, get healed and B, you

(01:18:58):
know, suffer or try not to suffer from the, the poisoning
or the addiction that they were being, you know, plagued with
from Caesar clown or whatever. Like, I mean, there's, there's
some shit to, to sink your teethinto there.
There just wasn't like a lot of it.
I don't know, I feel like that was a matter of execution.
I think if that was executed better I would have other
opinions. The fact that it was just like

(01:19:20):
just complaining about the case rather than him actually like
putting a lot more into it. Agreed.
Every other character given in that position would have had
have ended up like in a near death experience or just like
done something crazy that we would have been like that, that
was insane like that, that that did not happen with Chopper.
And I agree that was compelling. But still, this is an execution

(01:19:42):
thing rather than like a qualityissue.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
I think for me, Chopper has a lot of screen time or maybe not
screen time, but like a lot of presents, you know, he doesn't
get he he he left dress rose because he wants to sell.
I mean, I feel like in my mind Chopper has a lot of screen time
and a lot of relevance to the story in terms of like being a

(01:20:03):
character who is an eyewitness to a lot of things, comparison
to other parts of the crew and and whatnot.
Choppers around for a lot of theseries.
And between getting very little spotlight in those moments and
forgetting like very little and minimal impact, unfortunately,
like there, there are chopper highlight moments in my mind,
but there are like one I'm thinking about one in the
future, which really just says, what has he done recently?

(01:20:25):
And honestly, I think when I wasthinking about this in my head,
I was like, oh, you know, he helped, you know, capture
Brulee. And then in my mind, I was like,
did he though like he was there, but like, did he really do that?
Like I felt like other people around him were, were, it's.
Not even that notable. Like Brulee is such a such a
side joke character that really, what's the difference?
Yeah. And and then if it's not that

(01:20:47):
you fat, you've rewind to, you know what he just mentioned in
Punk Hazard, which is a compelling storyline and a
narrative inside plot. That's the only thing like I.
Don't even, I don't even put much stock in that.
Like yeah, he was there advocating for it, but so was
Nami and and Toshiki like they were all on board this together.
If this was a solo endeavor of choppers, he like he was the

(01:21:11):
only person worried about this specific thing, then I'd care
more. But even if you even Frankie,
who also has been similarly sidelined for a lot of post
timescape, they're even I I can think back to something like
Dressrosa where he was the only one who wanted to go and help
the Tontatas. Like he called up Luffy and was
like hey dude I know we got thisother thing to do but my morals

(01:21:36):
won't stand for me. Leaving the Tone Tatas to stand
by on their own and Luffy went fucking bet.
He has his own moment with senior paint that's like super
iconic to the fandom at large and like, that space for itself.
Yeah. And chopper that.
Might be 1 of very few of his moments in totality of the
series, but that one moment stands out more than like
anything people can remember about Chopper.

(01:21:56):
Anything I care about chopper ispre time skip.
There is nothing that I, I, I will I to this point, I have
ever sunk my teeth into for for chopper.
It's true post Timescape. Yeah.
And it's it's unfortunate. It's it's unfortunate.
Jinxiomi Soda. No, my soda.
So I, I, yeah, I, I'm, I'm fullyon board with Chopper.
Chopper was also going to be my pick.

(01:22:17):
Damn, you hate to see it, he. Just exists to sell merch I.
Hate that this is probably a a unanimous pick on who we think
is the most useless. He just, he just is, man.
You know what it also is like hehas a goal, but it's very much
just sort of an ongoing thing instead of a like, here's a
specific thing I have yet to reach yet.
Like he just wants to be a good doctor.

(01:22:39):
There is no single unifying thing he wants to get to.
He just wants to ongoingly become a better and better
doctor. Like Zorro wants to become the
greatest swordsman by beating the greatest swordsman.
Luffy's gonna go be like the theking of the pirates.
Frankie's in a similar situationtoo, obviously, where there's no
like one specific thing that he wants to do.

(01:22:59):
He just wants to be on the ship that and maintain the ship of
the king of the pirates. There's a couple of these
characters, but he so he's not to say he's the only one.
But this isn't on top of all thethings we've already said.
He just doesn't have a super defined goal that we're trying
to get to here. I it's hard to disagree because
I think I think we all have a similar sentiment.

(01:23:19):
I can. Hear the the pitchforks being
taken out and listen, listen, audience, listen.
They're. Mad, but they know we're right
and they kind of agree with us anyway.
This. Is this is not me, right?
I'm just upset as you. I wish Chopper was more useful.
I wish. That Chopper did not peak in the
pre time skip and I also wish that Chopper had his old designs
for transformations because a new one sucked and I, I am not

(01:23:41):
afraid to say it, bring. Back, chubby chopper.
That's true. Speak.
Your truth, man. Chopper kind of low key peeked
at Annie's Lobby and that's that's a little rough to hear.
I'll give him Saba Odie. I like.
I like when he feels desperate enough to go Monster point.
That's always a good time he went.
Monster. That was pretty cool, yeah.
Like it it, but the the the problem with your boy is it also
his design was so much better than dude.
He looked like a reindeer. Now what?

(01:24:03):
What? What am I looking?
He looks like fucking Pikachu now.
I I'm sorry, I'm gonna, I'm, I'mgetting.
I got to melt the candy, bro. Oh.
God I somebody just put 2 gifts of him you.
Know. You know.
You know what it is. You know what he's being sedated
by like cotton candy. We got to get, we got to get him
out of that, right? Man's addicted.
We got a cold Turkey. We got if someone get to order
right now. Wait, let me change my litter
real quick. We got to, we got to break,

(01:24:24):
break him off the cotton Kitty. Yeah.
Choppy boy, I hope this Rusty Hot Dog award encourages you to
do better in the future. Yeah.
But it'd be fuel for. Your fire.
I feel like a true man back there in the fire, just like all
the rest. Of you and what do?
They mean by pet. I'm a doctor, died in.
The. World try hard on.
It we know it's crazy, Watch, watch like ODA in the next month

(01:24:47):
just to have some crazy chopper moments.
That's how you know it was listening.
Dude, I'm I'm taking credit for it.
I don't care. It's cuz he listens to the
podcast. I'm taking credit on behalf of
the podcast like it's. You did this.
I did. Thanks bro, no one cared about
POTS machine so we brought it up.
Just like Crunchyroll, right? Fucking scammers, all right?
That's what I'm saying, dude. That's what I'm saying.

(01:25:10):
All right, finishing this out, we are just doing a regulator,
little little grab bag, a littlerecommendation.
Everyone is going to go and recommend a little thingy.
Who? Wants to go first.
Not it, Not it. I'll do it, Do it.
Actually, let me while I say thething I'm going to say, let me
make sure it's not on my list ofrecommendations that I wrote

(01:25:31):
down somewhere. Yes, please hold.
You have an ongoing list of prior recommendations I.
Made it to like because you knowI'm I have a bad habit of
repeating things because I neverremember the last thing I
fucking said 2 days ago. I have a bad habit of having few
hobbies. I'm just kidding.
That's. Fucking scorched.
OK cool it's not on here but I can write it on here and then
delete it. So this is very much recency

(01:25:53):
bias because it's been relevant to me recently.
For those of you who do not knowthere is a new ish anime within
like start early in this year called Windbreakers.
It's a like it's the most boys boys anime I have come across in
quite some time. Like everything about it should
target almost exclusively middleschool to high high school age

(01:26:16):
boys. It's literally just like the
plot is main character is a kid who who fights, likes to fight
and goes to A to a school where there are no teachers as far as
I can tell yet and it's just boys who fight and the boys who
who are there fight. They just fight other schools
like it's a fucking gang war, which is a super simple premise.
And, you know, that's enough to get me in because I like, you

(01:26:36):
know, cool fights and stuff likethat.
Who doesn't? But what has taken me by
surprise, and particularly the second season is that even if it
might be superficial or like dumbed down a little bit, this
show in some regard, one of the themes is about like learning
emotional maturity and emotionaldepth and like being OK with
yourself and like your flaws andlike learning to rely on the

(01:26:58):
people around you, your allies and what not.
Through the life experiences of the main character, Sakura and
season 2 in particular has really caught my attention
because they introduced his character who we see once in
season 1. Their name is Tsubaki.
They're a character that sticks out.
They got red hair, it's long, they're tall, they're really

(01:27:18):
muscular. They also look like a woman.
And I should have realized that they were not a woman because
it's an all boys school. But you know, I saw a femme.
I assume it was a fan that that's really on my that's my
fault for not keeping up with the times.
So Tsubaki, is this, you know, male high school student or
whatever who uses It's a little washy because I don't know

(01:27:40):
Japanese. So you know, the whatever the
English sub is what I have to work with as far as the English
sub leads me to believe this is a male character who uses males
pronouns but likes to, you know, present their gender as a woman
in many ways. And the characters are just OK
with that. Like there there is no oh,
that's weird, Not the grow to appreciate them.

(01:28:00):
No, the main character who's like the most awkward character
in the whole series is like, oh shit, I thought you were a
woman. All right, well, that's cool.
Be whatever you want to be and that's it.
And after that's so cool. And I really shouldn't be having
my mind blown by this. But I think it's that important
to me that there's at least one piece of fiction that is

(01:28:20):
targeted to young men that are just like, hey, here's a
different character or a different archetype of person.
They're just a person. Be cool with it, bro.
It's not that big of a deal. Or if it's a big deal to you,
it's probably because you identify with that character.
And also, Tsubaki's becoming my favorite character in the
series. They're really fucking cool.
All right, fair enough. Either you either you 2 want to
go. I managed to not do this

(01:28:41):
homework because I just forgot to read.
No, because I forgot to read that last thing.
I was like, I gotta do this. I could do that, go to that, and
then for some reason my brain was like, that doesn't exist.
Moving on. Well, you got you got you got
anything off the cuff? Or yeah, I I in like the time we
were recording this. I just quickly glanced at some

(01:29:03):
stuff. I guess a quick one would be a
really nice audio book I enjoy. It's by this author, Josh
Waitskin. So if you're familiar with that
person, they are like a chess prodigy who ended up quitting
chess and then became a world champion.
Is it called Tai Tai Chi is a Tai chi push hands Tai chi They

(01:29:23):
like legit went from one world class to another world class and
now they're going into a third world class, which is, I
believe, some type of water sport.
I forget what it what it's called, but the point of it is
the book is called the Art of Learning in which she instills
his very loose intuition and like, like the, the way he

(01:29:44):
processes learning into an actual thing.
You can sort of latch onto. It's a hard book to not read,
but like understand because it's, it's like so dense and
there's a lot of it in there that is just legit like stream
of consciousness through words. And there's just just so much
rich stuff to learn from it. And I don't, I don't know it

(01:30:06):
just every time I, I try to likeget into it, it's like the man
says 2 sentences and I'm like that I, there's so much in here
I hate to dissect and there's just like a whole book of it.
Don't. Overwhelm yourself, big guy.
There's. Just a whole book of that, and
it's really nice. And the writing style is just
something I enjoy because I think I write the same way.

(01:30:27):
It's just stream of consciousness.
Just write the same way you think.
And I think I enjoy the style. So The Art of Learning by Josh
Waskin. All right.
Very cool. I mine's pretty short if you
want me to go really quick, Christian.
By all means all. Right, well I am trying to
recommend something a little bitdifferent every time I get the
floor. I just recently recommended a TV
show, so you know this this week.

(01:30:49):
Maybe I'm just trying to instillbad habits in the audience.
For those of you that enjoy a drink from time to time, I am
choosing to recommend you your poison of choice.
If you've never tried them, you should try to find a bar or an
establishment that has an espresso maker and get an
espresso martini. Their.

(01:31:11):
Fire and they go down like water.
They are damn good. So if you're looking for a new
drink to try and you've never had one, I highly recommend.
But don't, don't get no espressomartini from a place that
doesn't have an espresso maker. It's fake.
It's that, it's that fake shit. Get one with a real espresso
maker. Go to Starbucks.
Got it. No.
Well, yes. Well, no.

(01:31:32):
Yeah. Just bring your own martini
stuff to Starbucks. Wait.
Wait, wait. Yeah, bring your own vodka and
Kahlua I got. I got the perfect place bringing
in IHOP. They sell alcohol.
No. Brew.
What they do, Yeah, yeah, that'scrazy shit.
Dude, you think they'll make youan espresso martini?
Dude listen man they got espressos I bet maker in there
somewhere and they have alcohol like this is the spot.

(01:31:54):
Well shit, good to know, but butif you never had one, highly
recommend. They are they?
They're damn good and they go down like water.
They're pretty good. You want to know a fun little
tidbit of that What's up? So alcohol and caffeine both
induce A dopamine response, which is fun to know that both
of those combined. Oh hell, is, is the reason why
they're so delightful. And, and I don't know, I just

(01:32:17):
any time I drink coffee, I'm like, Oh, nice little feeling.
Anytime I drink alcohol, Oh, nice little feeling.
And then I remember. But I can combine them.
Without powers combined. But I can put them together.
That's nice. Shit, I didn't know that.
That's yes, that's a dangerous thought.
I can't believe you're like the fourth person in my life in the

(01:32:40):
last couple of weeks to talk about espresso martinis in an
extended manner, and not just in.
Not just in a way. Where like hey, I went to the
bar the other day got an espresso martini.
It slapped like you're this thisis this is advanced like this is
the this is the shit. Here's what you need to do.
Here's where you can go to get the best ones.
My man's. Been getting hit with

(01:33:01):
propaganda. It's.
Crazy listen. I just don't want anyone to get
it and then be like, this is themost disgusting shit I've ever
had. And I'm like, well, yeah, you
probably got it from somebody who used cold brew in a a bottle
instead of like an actual bit ofespresso.
I mean, it's valid. I, I, it, it should be part of
the recommendation that you're looking.
You give them the tips and tricks to to find the good one.
All right, guess it's my turn. I am going to follow in

(01:33:25):
Geordie's footsteps a little bithere, although not quite in the
same self help way, but in the book way, especially audio book
way. I recently, somewhat recently in
in the beginning of the year. Actually it was this is
technically more like the end oflast year, but I went back

(01:33:47):
because I was thinking about it amongst a few other things that
I wanted to read or was reading and it was in the same vein.
I was thinking about the Ender'sGame series and how much I had
enjoyed that reading that I readthe the Ender's Game series like
the four or five books that are that it entails a number of

(01:34:10):
years ago when I had a did you? Read The Shadows.
I so Geordie the what I what I delved into recently was I read
all of the Ender's games normal series again and then I went on
and I read the shadow series, which is for those who don't
know, it's a spinoff that encompasses the life of Bean

(01:34:32):
Bean, who is one of the main characters from the main series
and he's he he essentially acts as Ender's right hand man.
For anyone who doesn't know or remember the books themselves,
but they take the first book of that series and they tell
Ender's Game from his perspective.
And it was so cool to be able toexperience what it was like for

(01:34:55):
him because you get such AII want, I almost want, I almost
want to call it marginalized experience of him in Ender's
Game. And so to see it from his point
of view in that one book was already really cool.
And then the next set of books after that take place what
happened in the aftermath of Ender's Game, but instead of the
Ender goes off to the other other systems and you get the

(01:35:18):
events of those books well into the future, hundreds of years in
the future. Bean stays on Earth.
So you get the very immediate future of what happens post
Ender's Game. And it's honestly, I think I
enjoyed the Shadow series more than the mainline series because
there's so much more grounding. And I don't want to say there's

(01:35:40):
more nuance because obviously the Ender's series, for anyone
who's read it, that has a lot ofvery stimulating topics,
especially and you know, in terms of anthropology and
interpersonal relationships and interacting with species and new
races and so on. But the way that the intrigue
and the mystery and the way thatthe story is told in the Shadow

(01:36:03):
series, I think is more particularly compelling for me.
And so if if you have read the Ender series and you were
satisfied with that, I would I implore you to go and read the
Shadow series. It's another four or five book
commitment basically. And.
Double that. But it is well worth it.

(01:36:25):
Damn dude. I think it's well worth the same
amount of effort and buy into the Ender's Game series.
Investment I have a minor theorywith like it just came to mind
when you when you were saying all this.
I think part of the reason why Shadows is a bit more
entertaining reading wise is because Ender's Game itself is
told through the lens of a kid that discovering his own

(01:36:49):
abilities to say, I guess his own capacities.
So it's told from a very insecure type of mood or train
of thought. I feel like Shadows is a bit
more analytical, which is why it's easier to read at times.
And I don't know, just for me personally, I enjoy the more
analytical thing because when I read that book initially I was
like, why does it feel like, whydoes it feel like this is me?

(01:37:11):
What? Whose man is this?
And then and then I looked into the other stuff and I was like
this is a really good. I just those let the Ender's
Shadow series is one of the few books that I legit sat down and
like had the attention to read from back to front 9 hours on
end and that is very rare for me.
Yeah, I, I think I, I, I agree with you.

(01:37:33):
This part of the Shadow series is more easily digestible.
Nature is that there's less ambiguity to the actions of some
of the characters because being is just so intellectually
focused, whereas Ender is much more community and
empathetically geared towards his interactions and trying to

(01:37:53):
make everyone happy. Whereas being is very much like,
this is the way shit's got to get done if you want to get it
done right. And then he learns this
emotional journey over time. So yeah, I agree.
I think that I I had fun rereading the Enders Game
series, but I think that I wouldhave an even better time
rereading the Shadow series one day.

(01:38:14):
And also, I did this through audiobook form, which normally
is not my preferred version of, of do of reading books because I
just, I, I digest better when I read the physical words.
But I was enraptured by a lot ofthe shadow series and I just ate
up every Now, I shouldn't say every part because there are
still slow parts that that get kind of strange and it has its

(01:38:37):
own unique problems. But I, I, I was very much
enthralled for a lot of it and even in audiobook form.
And so I, I, I took that into note when I finished the series
and was like, damn, this like actually got me, got me tearing
up at work right now. You know, like I'm, I'm reading
all this shit that's happening and I'm like, I'm like getting

(01:38:58):
emotional on my desk doing drawings for my engineering job
and I'm like, God damn, it beingwhy you gotta go would be like
this. So that's my recommendation.
Love it. It's.
Nice. It's nice.
I think that wraps it up all right.
Did we do it? We're there, folks.
We've done it. Thank you for listening again.
Does any of you guys want? I'm told I'm bad at it, so I
can't. I can't do the thing.

(01:39:19):
Thank you for listening to us for five years, apparently,
yeah. Thank you for listening for five
effing years even. When our anniversary episode is
3 months late. Oh yeah?
Well. That's part of the charm.
This might be like a a future premonition.
I think we might lose this recording and I think we will
find that eventually. I think what?

(01:39:39):
Oh. No.
Oh, is that what the bit was for?
You're going to what you're going to like, you're going to
throw this shit out into the ether like four months from now.
See, what we what we didn't realize is that Jordy threw a
dart at a calendar, you know, all 12 set out on a wall, and he
just arbitrarily decided when this episode was going to go
out. Unfortunately, he he drew up a
three and we've already passed March, so yeah.

(01:40:01):
It looks like it's March 2026. What?
Do you mean you do you think but?
Also, there's a second dart board for the year.
Listen, hear me out. We just add another month to the
year. That's all we got to do.
We, we just bring this up to thehigher ups, you know, big, big
God and. No big Gregory that says his
calendar, right? The universe, The Gregorian
calendar, I thought. We used the Julian calendar.

(01:40:22):
I don't. Fucking know man.
We go back in time, we tell the the Mayans, hey, like 13 months,
we got to do it or I'm top liver.
I promised a lot of people. Oh no, you're getting offered up
to the Mayan gods. Kukul Khan coming through your
ass. Oh no.
Kukul Khan because? You better hope that Kalgura
isn't the one you know sacrificing you.
He's the very determined man. All right, that's it.

(01:40:46):
Anything lasting? No thing.
Thanks for five years. Thanks for buying our merch.
Thanks for showing up. If you're here with our live
recording session, we are. Here on a live recording, we did
that again. We still do that.
Debatable. I.
Mean we're here, aren't we? Yeah, you're right.
Yeah, thanks. Thanks for listening.
I I don't know what the feature entails.

(01:41:08):
That's a, that's a hard one. We legit passed a point where I
like knew exactly what to do andnow I'm just like oh fuck I
didn't think I get this phone. Sam.
Hopefully, hopefully fun times. Gotta be fun times.
Hard times. Hard times, did you?

(01:41:31):

in the chat with all of our other lovely community members

12 hour palooza that we did a somewhat poor job advertising.

(01:42:14):

consecutively so that's my bad. But you could have been here,

in the future for you. So, you know, whenever you hear

They're great Christian. Jordy, come on, get with the
times. Give us give us 5 booms, OK?
We need 5 booms. 5 booms. Yeah my bad.
What was the what was the stupidgive me give us 5 gomu gomus for
on whatever, whatever streaming platform.
Hell yeah. Yeah.

(01:42:55):
We need at least 5 gomu gomus. Let's go.
Shout out to ODA Como. Como como, como como no.
Super Gomus, though, we don't need those regular Gomus are
fine. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So anyway, yeah, I think, I think I'm going to follow
Jordy's advice just like, you know, this, this it was
beautiful. But I, you know, I think it
needs to go back in the fall so that it's beauty can't be

(01:43:15):
tarnish. I'm just going to go put this
back where I found it and probably forget where it was and
then we'll remember eventually. Maybe.
I don't know, probably. Not.
That's fine though, yeah. Probably not.
I mean, I'm pretty, pretty trashfor that sort of thing, so.
I mean, you, yeah, you didn't announce that we were doing this
Palooza. So yeah, I.
Mean, I did, but I I didn't do it enough times.
You know that that part I'm I'm shit, I'm bad.
Yep. Anyway, love you.

(01:43:36):
Bye bye. Bye now, all right.
Now, what if I told you I hadn'tbeen recording this whole time?
