As Big Mom finally tastes Sanji’s legendary wedding cake, Totto Land is swept into unexpected peace—her hunger soothed in a euphoric frenzy. But while her rampage ends, the Straw Hats’ peril continues. On Cacao Island, the Sun Pirates fight fiercely to clear a path, only to face Oven’s boiling sea and the Queen Mama Chanter’s fiery assault. A clever decoy by Wadatsumi spares the crew from destruction, but their escape is still far from secure. In a pivotal moment, Jinbe stays behind to help his old crew protect the retreat, vowing to reunite in Wano. As the Thousand Sunny finally breaks free, heartbreak and reflection ripple through those left behind—Sanji mourns Pedro, Pudding hides her tears, and Katakuri lies wounded, his mask broken but his dignity intact.

(00:00):
All right, turns out it was Millionaire Estates and then
Countryside Acres. Not Sunnyside Acres.
Countryside. Still taking you around back.
Yeah, I don't want it either way.
You're definitely still going tocountryside.
I I hate country, period saying.Well I don't I don't got

(00:20):
1,000,000 bucks so. I got I hate the country I live
in. I hate the country music.
I hate the countryside. I mean, the countryside can be
nice. Well, all right, I tried.
All right, man, now I want to play.
I want to play board games. Can we turn this into a board

(00:43):
game podcast? Yeah, so let's let's go do the
we'll we'll do the Tabletop Simulator and we'll just do a
different board game every week. Some weeks will be like an hour
and then others will be like 9-3days.
I'm. Sorry, I thought I was going to
say 9 minutes, 9 hours. No, 9 hours.
We're, we're, I'm talking of risk, Kevin, you're talking
risk. I'm talking commander.

(01:05):
Or no, I'm talking about. Man, this would be really good
content to be recording right now, wouldn't I am?
Recording. I am recording, we might be
recording it, but we haven't done the thing, so it's all.
Going to go out, you know I. Don't have that.
We just got to let them know. Let them know.
I'll save. This on a blooper reel.
That's what I'm. Saying that's true, I mean it'll
be sync regardless once it you know that.
Well yeah, but he always cuts everything pre hold.

(01:26):
On let's Let's send Ellen a message right now.
Don't bother. Why don't we just sync right
now? OK, now you can continue talking
about our future board game podcast.
Please Jesus Christ, that's all I was asking for.
Why'd you have to look at a clock?
I looked at a timer but I know when to say 543 sink.

(01:49):
So he can sink, you know what I'm saying?
He used to sink to his sink. Yeah, it's called plumbing.
It's better to sink in the COM than to come in sink.
I set it back and. Here I thought, I thought the
cold open was going to be this delightful conversation about us
potentially having a boarding podcast and like.
The the logistics. Around that and then Devin came

(02:11):
in falling smack down on the table WWE Raw style and said
Nope, absolutely not. That's not my Cold 1 today.
Yeah, that that was, that was certainly something.
So anyway, Justin, you wanted totell us something?
Yeah. Yeah, Yeah, it's almost on brand
with what Devin started with. So I have three, I have three

(02:31):
things to say. First I.
Hate that, I really do. I hate.
Summer it's not even summer but where I live it spring is
teasing me with some summer weather and I hate it.
I'm sweating and all I'm wearingis underwear.
Bro I hate this. This is miserable.
To ascend Justin, just go balls.Just what?

(02:52):
Anyway, the second thing was I forgot what me and Juan were
talking about. It was really to work.
And he was like, oh, Father's Day is coming up soon, It's on.
I don't know, whatever the fucking date was.
And I said, oh, I've never needed to remember because you
know, I ain't got no dad. Eat shit.
No word. Got him, got me.

(03:15):
Wow. Hey yo, pro-life gamer hacks.
Just don't have a dad. Exactly bro.
I'm saving so much money on Father's Day.
Much. Just making mom Mother's Day
Part 2. That's what my mom said and
she's very salty. I don't agree with that.
Anyway, Parenthood, Speaking of.Parenthood.

(03:37):
In the office today, I don't know how.
Actually, I didn't know how. One of my coworkers who was
recently just had a child, she brought her daughter into the
office. It was great.
Baby's very cute. And then, you know, babies
became top of conversation for like an hour afterward.
So one Co worker asked another is like, hey, like do you want
kids, blah, blah, blah. She said yeah, I want one.
And this gentleman is like, oh, you should you should have two.

(03:59):
So, you know, they have like a thing to play with essentially
not, not nothing about like, youknow, camaraderie or understand
like if you know, siblings grow different and better social
skills or, or just like, you know, things that an only child
would never have. Right.
And then and then a different Coworker who is a mother of four.

(04:20):
She said let me tell you something, I have 4 kids and all
of them hate each other. All right that this is not a
guaranteed. No.
Actor friendship. No, this is not like adopting
animals. Where?
There's like a higher. Like buy.
A child to then buy a second onebecause the first one needs a
friend, no? Exactly.

(04:40):
It's not like that. I have a question for you,
Justin. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Do you by chance work with JD Vance?
What the hell? Because that's what that sounded
like. I didn't think, I never did.
I didn't think Christian was going to be the one to RIP that
Band-Aid. How did?
We get here. What are you talking about?

(05:02):
No, no, you need to answer his question.
This is an incredible point. I'm just, I'm too afraid to say
it, that's all. But I want an answer.
How did How? Because this guy.
Knows about our vice president or whoever the fuck this guy is
in our government is that he allegedly really likes couches.
All right, that's all I really know about him.

(05:22):
Potentially, allegedly maybe killed the Pope.
That's all I'm saying. I mean, he definitely did that.
That's true. He definitely did that that.
For sure happened, but he also at one point, he also at one
point told the entire American population of women that is that
they need to have more kids, yes.
And that the government is goingto plan incentives for women

(05:43):
based on the number of kids theyhave, no.
No, you have you have it backwards.
They're going to start implementing penalties for those
that don't have children to incentivize you to have kids.
I've got. To pay more taxes.
For now, the kids. No, I mean, it's, I mean, if you
have 5 kids, for each kid you have, they're going to give you
5 grand and then at 5, at 5 kids, they're going to give you
a medal. That's not a joke.

(06:05):
This is real. I do remember.
The first half of that being. True, they were giving.
Five kids, You kind of do need amedal.
I. Think you need a medal after one
king? Like it'll.
Be like purple. Heart the first one, then like
5. I feel like it's a Medal of
Honor, yeah. I don't know, man.

(06:26):
It just sounds to me like, you know, I don't want to get it on
that one, Brandon. You're right, I who who could
have possibly seen this cold open going this way?
We were supposed to talk about board games and and and and.
Listen, I. Really do, week to week.
I don't know why I keep coming back.
No, you do. I mean, it's, you know what my,
you know what you're talking about, which is just, you know.

(06:47):
Don't you't? You're shit.
Ain't any of you fucks so? I just got to show up because
you're going to be here. Which is where this perpetual
like, oh, I only show up becausehe's here.
Serious FOMO. Christian's attendance is very
competitive. All right, he does.
That make it is competitive. Does that make me the glue that

(07:08):
forces everyone to be here? Because I'm perpetually here?
You're literally never actually here.
What? Are you talking about?
You have the worst attendance. Me and you are fighting for
worst attendance. Walls.
I'm the glue that holds us in the building.
No, not with your intended talking about my guy.
You're you're the slime that exists on the bottom of the
floor. Exactly.

(07:30):
You're the black mold in the corner of the bathroom
perpetual, yes. Let me infest your lungs and
give you can't. You're here, you're here for,
you're here for a certain amountof time because I'm too lazy to

(07:50):
do anything else about it. And then I get someone to clean
it up and then you're gone for acouple weeks, but it comes back
because I didn't clean up properly.
And then the cycle repeats. Yeah, this is this is good.
I'm glad that we're we're airingall this out today today of all
days, the end of the arc. What an end of Arc special we've
we've started here I. Hope everyone enjoys hearing me
laugh like a fucking hyena in the background.

(08:11):
She's. Crazy.
I was actually just thinking about this.
Can I tell you this is a real thought that I had today when I
was listening to one of our episodes?
You know the best part about Justin's laugh is that like when
it starts, it sounds like a fucking parakeet in the
background. When he goes off, he's like,
when he like, he like pauses, like, you know, he's laughing

(08:31):
and then like a split say goes. Discord, Discord really is the
best wing man on that on that front because his his pitch is
so high that Discord cuts it outfor us.
And when he lowers his register back down during the middle of
the laugh we he cut, he cuts back in.

(08:51):
But the listeners hear all of it, because Audacity hears
everything. If I if I ever saw like an
animatic of any of our like, youknow, shit talking or dumb like
conversations, like in in cartoon form, I I just want
parent Justin Stallion. I don't, I don't.
I'm afraid of animated me because it's either Jabba the
Hutt now, I guess. Black mold.

(09:20):
Yeah, sent you a black mold. Or or rabid rat, I think.
It's got to be there. I just think you're you're
really quite free. Job of the hot energy and the
rat man. Especially recently my man's got
a special connection to Remy andand the gang.
We do be having that connection to running in the game.

(09:44):
Anyway, we watched One Piece this week.
We did. Watch one piece this week you
know I'm I'm even I'm going to take a step further I'm jumping
into the summary fuck all you guys y'all y'all y'all make my
life a little bit worse daily I'm just.
Kidding. You make you make my life easier
by reading the summer. Love you guys.
Love you guys. Anyway, Big Mom finally indulges
in Sanji's masterfully crafted wedding cake, and the effect is

(10:06):
immediate. She's overtaken by Bliss, her
craving rampage, ending an explosion of happiness that
spreads relief across Toto Land. But even with the threat of Big
Mom temporarily neutralized, thechaos continues.
Elsewhere on Cacao Island, battle rages on as the Sun
Pirates fight to carve a path for the Straw Hats escape.
Oven, however, retaliates by boiling the sea again, forcing

(10:30):
the Sun Pirates to retreat. At the same time, the Queen Mama
Shante hurls destruction in the Straw Hats path, engulfing their
trail in flames and wreckage. But in a stunning turn, the
Sunny had already been swapped out by Wadatsumi, saving the
crew from obliteration, though their cover is soon blown as the
Big Mom Pirates bear down on them once more.

(10:50):
The Sun Pirates return to shieldthe Sunny.
Overwhelmed but not broken. Luffy gives Jim Bay the green
light to rejoin his former crew and hold the line, urging him to
meet them in Wano. Jim Bay plunges back into
battle, helping the Sun Pirates generate a powerful current that
propels the Straw Hats out of Toto Land once and for all.
The escape comes with emotional weight.

(11:11):
Sanji learns of Pedro's death, and far away on Cacao Island,
Putting quietly weeps remembering their time together.
Meanwhile, Brulee tends to a wounded Katakuri in Mirror
World, reflecting on his selfless strength and the mask
he wore to protect his siblings. As calm begins to return, Sanji
returns to the kitchen aboard the Sunny.

(11:31):
And in a poetic parallel, his mentor Zef continues to serve
rowdy pirates back at the Beratia.
Yeah, yeah. Nice, nice guys.
You know what gents, I'm proud of you.
You did it, you made it here. I knew you guys to be honest, I
thought you guys were gonna havesome stonks and Katakuri and

(11:52):
that ended up not panning out aswell.
But I knew this arc was gonna bea tough one for the both of you.
I'll be honest, cuz y'all hate Sanji, I knew y'all were never
going to let the fucking puddingthing go because of the age
difference and knowing where that ends up.
I was like Yikes, they're going to have a bad fucking time.
And I knew the wedding cake pickwas not going to, you know,

(12:12):
satisfy, You know, how did, how are you guys doing?
You're here. I have back pain.
Are you happy I? Have back pain you?
Have back pain from what? This art gave me back pain.
Well, that's. Because he, I know that's
because he was hunched over his desk, 2 inches from the screen,
because he just couldn't get enough, right, Devin?

(12:33):
Yeah, yeah. More like I was hunched over the
toilet seat vomiting profusely going like this is.
So. Fucking boring.
That gives you indigestion. Yeah, what do you say it gives
you upset stomach? Diarrhea.
Hey Peptocus. Oh my God.
Hashtag not sponsor week people, but we could.

(12:54):
Be every week. No, I don't think we could.
Actually. I don't think that they have any
interest in sponsoring us. They're a legacy brand, they
don't need it, but if they ever needed help, I'm more than happy
to help. Justin always out here trying to
get our sponsorships. Yeah, man, any money?
Oh, yeah. So back to my original question,
How you guys doing? How you feeling?
You did it and you made it through two more musical

(13:15):
numbers. How about that?
I do have a first one. On Was it 875?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was something that what
about? It was great.
I enjoyed it, but it definitely gave you the heebie jeebies.
Well, yeah, that's like the the idea, brother.
Yeah, but like you talk, I'm. 29and they were successful.

(13:36):
AM I-29. Yeah. 29 They were successful.
At. The game 29 year old man.
The heebie jeebies from a you know, allegedly a child's
cartoon. Allegedly a children's cartoon.
Yeah. Oh sure, those.
Dogs were kind of. Bro, where the fuck?
Yeah. Yeah, that's what I remember.
Thank you, Devin. Bro, at what point did we turn
to fucking Thriller Bark? What the fuck happened?

(13:57):
Yeah. Yeah, so streaming that was the
exact same thing. Like what did Big Mom take
Thriller Bark vibes? Like what is what these these
weird? She's already had the cemetery.
In the song. Literally.
Well, I mean, yeah, she's, listen, she's a weird lady, OK?
She's got a lot going on. So is, are dancing
anthropomorphic dogs with, you know, Sailor Moon eyes really

(14:20):
the strangest thing? You think that their show could
cook up? Up.
Yes. Were they stitched?
I mean, they're stitched. They.
Were whole. They were stitched together.
Oh. My God.
They were definitely. Rabid dogs.
They were minimally dead at one point.
Yeah, they were clearly zombies, like they were missing
something. They're.
Holy dogs. Yeah, Speaking of Big Mom, I

(14:45):
want to direct us all to the podcast channel on our server
here and see this. Oh boy.
Thumbnail. Not thumbnail.
Excuse me, screenshot I took when I was watching the episode
last night or yesterday. Yeah.
Brother, this picture of Big Momscares me.
Is this what gave me the heebie jeebies?
The song gave me like, you know, chilled vibes.
This this scares me. Bro this this is my new sleep

(15:06):
paralysis demon. Good, right?
That's that's like the. Crazy eyes.
She also lost weight, I think. I I can't really tell because I
think she also gained it back after the cake.
I, I don't know, her proportionswere off this week, but this big
mom, this thing scares me. For for those keeping track at
home, this is the the big mom wegot of her strolling up to her
cake as as she's about. To she was this big rabid dog,

(15:30):
drooling and everything. So to add on to this point, as
like I do most weeks, you know, I, you know, recorded live or
not recorded streamed live. And the the comment that hit
real hard was my face when I getI'm drunk as fuck and I get to
the Waffle House. And that's, that's pretty good.

(15:56):
I like that. I do like that.
That was the energy that this that that whole segment picked
up just like. When I wake up tomorrow morning
and I really need a glass of water.
That's real though. That's so fucking real, yeah.
Truly, yeah. That's that's that's I don't

(16:17):
even know. This is this is beyond medium
mom now. This is I don't want to call her
small mom because she's still got big mom energy.
This is called Mother Twiggy. Mom menacing.
Momma Well. That's crazy, mom.
Waffle House mom. But she's always waffle mom.
Waffle. Mom.

(16:39):
So you just change the M to Westfor wombo?
Now I'm about it. Dude.
This big. This version of Big Mom's sick.
I love watching her just like Michael.
What's the what's the Michael? Michael Myers her way up to this
cake and then just fucking eviscerate it after.

(17:01):
Of course she has her blissful moment.
Yeah, imagine if we just like this was the big mom we got for
the remainder of our time with her.
I wouldn't be mad Yeah, I'd agree.
I regular sweet regular big Mom is is cool.
I like regular big mom. She's a she's a turn from the
other One Piece characters, but this is this.
Is this great too? I'm a fan of this.

(17:23):
To answer your question, your original question, yeah, go on.
I, I, I just want to ask you a question.
Go on. So, like, do you think that at
some point in Big Mom's adulthood, she was hot?
Like traditionally hot. I like.
Like Nami clone hot. Like Nami clone hot in One Piece
standards. We saw this, we did and her and

(17:45):
and some back story I think withPound.
I think she was like this with Pound.
We we did see a younger Big Mom in in a pound flashback.
That did happen. Yeah, I.
Don't. Remember totally single moment
of that home to. Answer your question yes, I
don't think I know a. # flashback I'm.

(18:05):
Not gonna lie to you, Devin. I'm fighting back the.
Chuckles. Listen, you don't do it.
Don't do it. It's so low hanging food.
It's pounds, Big Mom. I like pound cake.
Yeah, Pound. Marble.
I bet Big Mom does too. I bet she loves big pounce cake.

(18:27):
Oh my God, stop. Here we go.
Just kidding # didn't actually have one.
The Whole Cake actually does nothave cake.
He's like, he's built like a fucking.
Turnip that name Delfy has cake back there.
What are you talking about? No cake.
Nah, he built. He's built like Jimbo Rolls
though. Jimbei definitely got has
aspirin. I hate that kimono.

(18:49):
He's just. Like it's true.
It's. Bro a subsidy.
So anyway, to roll back to your question from about.
Oh yeah, I'm waiting. 10 minutes.
Ago to my damn seat. I, I'm, I'm having a good time,
you know, I think on the whole whole cake was fine.
I, I, I want to say that I probably enjoyed dress Rosa

(19:09):
more. Dress Rosa had better hype
moments. It was it did have maybe, I
don't know, dressos is weird. It had better highs, but it also
might have had lower lows, especially around the run piece
segments. But on the whole cake, I think
I'm having a good time here. I, I, I enjoyed the, the little

(19:31):
wrap up stuff that we did in these episodes between Jinbei
and the Sun Pirates and Veggie getting away and even to some
extent the the wrap up with Sanji and Pudding was like, was
fine, you know, sweet. Wasn't.
It was it. Was.
It was nice she she that, although not letting my man keep

(19:54):
the memory of of getting gettingthe kisses.
This tragic. She just didn't want to like
burden him with that. Like, you know, the, the, the
like, because what would happen next?
Because he'd be like, well, waita minute.
Maybe I really care for you bro.She she let him free.
Yeah, she's, she's letting him go.
She's like figuratively and literally letting the man go.
I, I know, but you know. She loved them, let him go.

(20:18):
I'm like, I'm going to be the only one who defends this
absolute romantic tragedy to theday I die.
I just ingested. Too don't care.
Wait, hold on. I I I agree that's.
Dev it in the back. Oh wait, so it's only Christian
that sucks? Yeah, that's not a Christian.
Fuck this guy. That's fine, I.
Really not like romance. I really like the katakuri stuff

(20:39):
with Brulee, that was really sweet and I love seeing the
adorable little cinnamon rolls when they were younger.
So can I, can I be that guy? You know, I feel like there's no
better time to express this tidbit of information than now.
So, so we got in this in this set of episodes, a little bit of
flashback into Katakuri and Brulee.
Brulee made it very clear that she was a bit closer to Katakuri

(21:02):
than she originally let on and also was very aware that he was
not this perfect, you know, monolith of a human being, as
she even once explained to the audience and Luffy at one point
in time. Well in their youth, Brulee went
through an accident where some, you know, fucking bullies, you
know, took took out revenge after Kata Curry beat their

(21:22):
asses on her. You guys do.
Do you remember when Flompeii said that 40 out of 41 brothers
gave her the favorite little sister?
Do you know who the holdout was?Kata Curry question mark.
You know who it was for, Brulee.Kata Curry gave it to Brulee.
Yeah, he did. I like, I don't know why, but

(21:44):
this, this stupid little tidbit,it came out on SBS.
Somebody was like, hey, so you know this stupid throwaway
character Flompe, she got 40 outof 41 brother who was the
holdout. And then ODA was like, oh, yeah,
yeah, it was kind of Curry. He loves.
He loves really way more than that.
That stupid. Job.
Hell yeah, that's what I'm talking about.
Kind of Curry. Dumb kids.
Fuck you, flompe. No.

(22:06):
And the the one you know, the the stupid, you know what fan
group or whatever for kind of Curry And he's like, I, I
literally hate you. I feel like I don't like
anything you're selling. Yeah, that's what that's what's
up kind of Curry is my boy for that one.
It's. Just it's just honestly just
like fun disrespect. It's incredible disrespect and

(22:28):
just the sweetness behind him voting for Brulee because of
this other thing that happened when they were children is so is
so cute. Kind of Curry's big softy.
You know what I'm hearing and I think we all knew this, but it's
finally being vocalized. Christian is a sucker for a good
sibling dynamic. Like you know Allah, what you
call it that's. Why?
I thought you were gonna be eating good in this arc, but it

(22:49):
feels like you were. You were eating moderate.
Well, there's a lot of sibling dynamics that are not POC
champion this. That's fair.
Most most of the things that Katakuri has to deal with in
terms of his siblings is garbage.
It's not even just that family, it's the fucking the the the
Vince smokes a Big Mom family. Oh yeah, it's.
Really just those two families, but it's all.
It's all toxicity based. Yeah, yeah.

(23:11):
But like he's Brendan is specifically pointing towards
Katakuri because Katakuri is theone bastion here of of goodness
and and and sweetness towards your fellow siblings, especially
in this one particular dynamic, which I'm I'm good with.
I have never ever complained about about Katakuri sticking up

(23:33):
for his siblings. I and I cheered when he, when he
kicked the shit out of Flompe because she's, she's a brat and
she deserved it. But my beef with Katakuri has
always been the fight specifically, which is not,
which is not Katakuri's fault. It's, it's, it's OTAs and also
Flumpase. So, so, so this, this specific

(23:58):
part I like a lot and this I, this is, this is not shining a
light whatsoever. This is this is shining a a
flashlight on in a spot that's been in the sun for 20 years and
had 20 ring lights on it. I've been saying this since
Fishman Island at minimum probably there's some instance

(24:18):
beforehand I can't particularly recall right now, but I did like
this is this has been known. I'm a sucker for this for this
stuff. So I, I, I, I was eating good in
this particular instance. And it gives much more meaning
to all of the time that Katakurireally spends going out of his

(24:40):
way in the mirror world fight asa whole trying to defend Brulee.
And it's it's at the time, it's obviously like, oh, Katakuri is
just sticking up for all sticks up for all of his siblings in
this way, because he is the he'sthe strong one.
He's the undefeated one that guards everybody.
But it to have this specific dynamic with Brule gives way

(25:02):
more sentiment. And I all of these other all
these other good things toward towards what that goes on there.
And I like if I ever rewash thisarc with that in mind, I'd
probably enjoy Mirror World at least a bit more just for that
specific part it. It is a little fun when Brulee

(25:22):
is like boasting about how perfect Katakuri is and when you
know the truth, you're like, that's that's funny.
Yeah, it's a little short lived,to be fair, but it's it's it's
fun. It's cute.
Yeah, and you know for, for. Romance.
For all of the yeah, you are. For all of the the bad things
that the the kids do, or I should say Big Mom's kids do,

(25:45):
when we get the little flashbackof them as as tiny little tiny
little kids, they are all very adorable looking.
Oh my God, this fucking guy. They are.
They are very. Adorable.
I guess they are. Yeah, they are cute, so to
speak. It is.
It is funny that we now for whatever reason, I don't think
anyone had this on the bingo carwe were getting.
You know Brulee back story explaining why she has that big

(26:06):
fat scar on her face. Yeah, or why Katakuri wears the
the, the, the the scarf. I would have been annoyed if we
didn't get that context honestly.
If we left this arc and didn't know why he put the scarf on
like I would have been. Elaborate for the children at
home. So the initial the initial
reason that we're given for the scarf is that you just until

(26:26):
this point, you're just supposedto assume that he's hiding his
mouth and facial features because he got call the Pelican
eel all the time. But really it's it is still
partially that. But in this back story, we get
where Brulee gets attacked, likeBrendan said by a bunch of
gangsters that Katakuri had beaten up.
He then goes to get permanent revenge on them, probably

(26:49):
slaughters all of them. But he puts on this mask or not
mask. He puts on the scarf that acts
as a mask so that people don't have something to make fun of
him for and that he's just all menace aura the whole time.
He could just stare you the fuckdown and.
He literally threw that out to like hold hold aura to like make

(27:10):
everyone go. You know what?
I It ain't worth the smoke. Yeah, and that still doesn't
stop some people because those guys took one look at him and
they went, we won't beat that ass.
And then category went oh really?
Yeah, it did happen. German was here too this week.
I don't think anybody cared. You know they were there.
There, they're doing stuff. You think we'll ever see them

(27:33):
in? Half a second I was I was hoping
that they were going to get intoa giant Zoid and fight the the
monster that transformed. It from but can I tell you?
Yeah. What about you?
It is funny to me that we have the the Power Ranger group in
German 66. They never break out the Zoids,

(27:53):
but they do quite literally fight the Voltron siblings on
Big Mom's crew. The the like the 12, the the
Dodeca tets or something like I don't even know.
I think it was number is wasn't,was it 10 or was it 12?
I think there's 5. I thought it was 12 but I don't
know it might be 10. Either way the the the 10

(28:14):
children, the the deca deca tetsor whatever they just for
whatever reason they they merge Voltron style.
They could just fucking do this.Just do this.
Maybe they have like a double fruit called the sibling sibling
fruit or something like that where they can just.
Eat siblings I don't understand like where they just like.

(28:37):
Like make multiple copies of that are slightly different but
similar. I just really love the idea that
like this was the training that they went through.
They just stand on top of each other and put a fucking jacket
on and go. This is our final four and
everyone's just like, like it's the same bit as in a Thriller

(28:58):
Bark with Frankie when he just all the straws coming together
or whatever. They're just like, this is our
final perfect being. Like.
Except it wasn't, because Robin didn't join.
Exactly. Yeah, it's very true.
Robin should have joined. Robin did fuck that up.
Yeah, the I. Can't play Christians admitting
to this totally. The siblings, well, look, not

(29:18):
everyone's perfect. Except Rob.
Yeah, so so every other time. On Brendan's question earlier,
this arc is very it's it the thebest way I can phrase it is in
my opinion, it's better in hindsight than it is going
through it like I like like whatI mean by that is it's it's like

(29:40):
thinking back and remembering all the wacky moments like you,
you forget about the the gaps oflike the dead air as I like to
phrase it in between like the the the slow moments because
you're only thinking about all the good moments in it.
So it's a good arc as an overarching story, but getting
through it is the hard part. I feel like I feel like you look

(30:01):
fondly back on this at those highlights, but in the moment it
is not a good arc in my opinion.I mean like as you're.
Actively. Knowing full well that King Bomb
was on your screen. Did you forget what he
sacrificed to give you content, Devin?
Who? That's crazy.

(30:25):
If we were in the same room, Brenda would be fucking jumping
over the table to grab that. How dare you would salt my
favorite German tree. No, no, no.
We, we are in the same room, Justin.
We just we strap Brendan down because we figured this is going
to happen. Yeah, no, no, you know, Full
disclosure, this actually is my personal favorite arc in the

(30:47):
time skip. Fun fact, I I love this arc to
death. I really do.
Yeah, it is. No, I'm not kidding.
I'm sorry for you I. Sorry for you.
He's not. He's not sorry because because
I. Like, like Christian.
I really did enjoy a lot of fuck.
What's the name of the island? The one we just came from.

(31:09):
OK Dresserosa. Dresserosa.
I think that was just because itwas very good.
Good story, good feeling. No, I mean, Dresserosa is good.
I just think that this is a muchless grandiose because it
doesn't involve like, OK, there are a lot of like fucking
characters, but they're all on Big Mom's side.
But like, the point of this arc is so much less unpacking all of

(31:31):
these new characters and how they're going to fit into the
mold of the story and so much more self-contained with the few
characters on the main cast. And I prefer that kind of
storytelling. I want I want to experience of a
much less like crazy story over us, like a long period of time.
That's just me personally. Like I like Dolph Mango.

(31:52):
I really do. But the the the being
essentially a God making the birdcage and trying to take an
entire country like it's fun. I don't hate it.
It's good. Something like this, where it's
like a more intimate storytelling between Luffy and
Sanji or Sanji and Pudding or Luffy and kata Curry and all
these, all these small bits thatall like layer on top of each
other as just different experiences for all, for all

(32:15):
these characters that you're starting to unravel slowly over
time. I love that shit.
I eat that up for breakfast every day.
Yeah. I can see that makes sense.
How do I feel about Whole Cake Island Huh?
I definitely don't hate it that there.
This was definitely enjoyable I think.
You hate it brother. This is literally the arc you
didn't watch because it didn't have Zorro.
I think you just hate it, OK? But if we move past that very

(32:37):
shallow point of view. But it's a true point of view
what shallow or not. That's what Justin calls
shallow. It's a the Mariana Trench.
Like listen. Did I in the year of 20, I don't
know, fucking 18 or whatever, whatever year this was back
then? Did I like not watch this or or

(33:00):
attempt to even? Well I took a long break from
One Piece, but did I intentionally not go back to
this arc because Zora wasn't there?
Yes, I did that sound. Like my sister.
Would I do it again 5050? 5050.
Well, like this is this is good times, good times.
I kind of query dope as fuck. You know I like.
He definitely would have skippedto those fights it.
Was cool. I think Christian did nail on

(33:21):
the head though. While dressed for us I had like
way lower lows. I wouldn't even say that like
Whole Cake had lows at all, or if there were, they're not that
many. That wedding cake were just
peeking way higher. Yeah.
No, I see that. I can feel that.
I feel like really the peak for me in Whole Cake is 1.
Obviously the Cotter Curry fight, but that's more of like
a, it's less of a sharp peak because it lasts so long.

(33:43):
It takes so much time and it covers so many like stages.
It's a like not steady incline, but you know, it's, it's sort of
a sharp rise. It's it's like a it's like it's
got a little mound on top. It's got a little curve up
there. You know, it has some lingering
effects. I like I enjoy Pedro's story.
Talking about that. So anyway, Pedro's actually

(34:05):
dead, right? Nah, Nah, you guys are still
seeing after everything. We've been you.
Watch my girl Carrot fucking bawher eyes out and make me cry, by
the way. And you want.
To do you want to do you want toknow who else cried at the
character death Vivi that's. Not fair.
That's not fair to. Be fair, I don't think she
actually did cry when he when kablooey.

(34:25):
Like she was like so shocked that she never actually.
Should deal with the fucking civil War.
She had a lot going on all right.
Yeah, she had a lot going on. She was like fucking weeping at
the civil war that was continuing because she's like,
we've literally given up so muchcan you guys please stop?
Does someone cry? Yeah.
I. Guess, I guess it was Devin.
I don't know. You're right, somebody did cry.
Devin, do you want your Gold Star?

(34:46):
Congratulations. Because because, you know,
Speaking of people who might, may or may not be dying, Jim
Bay, Nah, you know. Looking like a dude, looking
like the devil's advocate. Do we count Jimbei dead if he
doesn't make it out of the Ark with us?

(35:06):
Can we? Can we retroactively change the
rules if Jimbei leaves the Ark with us?
Because that would be really funny.
No, absolutely not. I don't think yeah, I don't
think we can. I have a suspicion of how his
death is going to be revealed, which will follow into the.
Confirmed. Theory off screen him.
They're gonna, they're, it's, it's gonna be, it's not gonna

(35:29):
come up for a very long time. And then we're gonna flashback
to what happened, and then he's gonna die in a flashback.
OK, so so it's it's trying some more.
Like and that's how they get away with never killing anyone
in real. Time.
Exactly. Here's what I'm thinking.
So. So Luffy gave Jim Bay orders to
meet him in Wano no matter what.So let's say so we're going into

(35:52):
Wano next. I'm sure that's not really
shocking to anybody. Yeah, you think he's going to
defy Captain's orders? Really.
That's what I'm saying. So don't die when.
He's dead because he can't let Justin finish.
Let Justin. Let Justin go.
I'm sorry. Yeah, let's just let's just
finish. So what I'm thinking is, if I'm
thinking along the same thought with Devin here, do we think we
go to Wano who do everything that we're going to do over
there, leave Wano, and then someone goes, hey, where's

(36:15):
Jimbe? He never met us in Wano.
And then that's when we get a fucking flashback series of like
or like a newspaper dropping, I think.
That's what's Yeah. Now the other, you know, 10.
This, this just brewed in my brain.
Just the second since, you know,we saw, you know, the zombie
dogs. What if Gecko Moria comes back?
Brings back fucking Jimbe's corpse.

(36:36):
So. He does end up going to the
island. Zombie Jimbe on the grill.
So he died. Wait a minute, that's fucking
here's. My thing I'm sure none of us
remember this has been a very long time.
I think it was during the the Marine 4 war or it was like a

(36:56):
little afterward. It was around that time period
in the story where for whatever reason, Doflamingo like,
confronted Gecko Moria and I'm pretty sure we were convinced.
I'm motherfucking. Dead.
I never said he was dead. I definitely remember us talking
about it like this, yeah. So I'm just saying Gecko Moria.
Does fuck. I'm going to take it one step
further. Didn't we Didn't Didn't that
hasn't end universe. Somebody said that Gecko Moria

(37:19):
is dead, or at least missing until Yeah.
There's a court newspaper article at the end of the the
war that said Gecko Moria is found missing on the battlefield
or something like that. And it was right after, it was
right after we got the snippet of Doflamingo being like, hey,
you know, I've got some orders from high up the like Kia.

(37:40):
Right. Not Kia but Mia for sure.
True. I'm a fucking dead of shit.
I am. I mean that is.
A doornail. I'm not gonna complain.
I don't. I don't really care about
Komori. But I like Gaga Mori, he's cool.
He's he's like, I mean, isn't hea little wild guy?
But like, I don't know, I like, I like eccentric and zany
people. Also.

(38:01):
What's up with that face though, dude?
Like what? What happened to you?
What are you? Are you?
I just I want to know what you are.
He's a shallot. He just, he's a shallot.
He's a shallot that gain sentience, Yeah.
Yeah, after consuming the shadowfruit or whatever.
But with the line, the Big Mom said life or dead, I'm like, Oh
yeah, Jim Bay's not making it out of this alive.

(38:24):
I. But he can swim.
I have, yes. So, OK, so I have a different
theory about who may or may not be making it out of away from
whole kick at this point. So the Fishman pirate, that's,
excuse me, the sun pirates, they're all already in the
water. Yeah.
And they know that Luffy's crew has made it over the line of of
big moms territory. So really, I don't see what's

(38:47):
stopping them from just diving straight down and getting away.
I, I, I'm sure there, there willbe some plot reason why they
can't do that and we'll learn about it later.
But in my I, I don't understand why that can't just be the case
for them. So that being said, I think the
Sun Pirates are going to be fineholistically.
Like some of them might end up being dead or something like
that. Like Jinbei.

(39:07):
No, not Jinbei. Jinbei's totally fine.
He got ordered by his captain tomake it back to Wano.
So he's, he's chilling. I'll tell you who is having
problems though, Jeremy Germa. Germa's not having a good day,
Germa. They're a little fucked.
Fucked. They have they they were already
taking a beating, both the Sanji's siblings and all of the

(39:29):
snail ships as a whole. So I think Germa is going to
lose a significant number of their forces.
I also don't think they're goingto get away.
I think that Germa is going to take the hit here, probably in
some way, shape or form for the Sun Pirates.
Like the Sun Pirates are going to disappear and then Big Mom is
going to go, well, all that's left is these Germa fucks who I,

(39:51):
you know, really this is all I wanted in the 1st place.
So this is kind of a win for me because she's she's just going
to go all in on on taking Germa. They bring their entire Kingdom
with their them everywhere. So she's going to get all of the
science notes probably if she wants them, and then maybe Judge
will die. Which would really just be a
happy ending for everybody. Which is really the, the, the,

(40:12):
the thickest silver lining I canfind here.
But, but I think, I think for certain, Justin asked earlier if
we're going to see Germa again. I think we will, but in a
capacity where? It's it's his funeral.
Well, I mean, that would be great too.
That would be great too, if we get a judge funeral.
But they're not going to have time to hold a judge funeral

(40:35):
because they're probably all going to be captured or on the
brink of death, basically. Probably not eaten, but who
knows. It's not impossible.
We saw Big Mom basically relive the memory of her herself eating
all of those kids. And also Mama, what was her
name? Caramel.
Carmel. Carmel So I think German, I

(40:56):
think German's fucked and we'll see them.
We'll see them in some capacity in the future where they're
they're basically just, I don't know.
They're they're they work like dogs for the Big Mom pirates or
something like that. Or they're captured alive and
tortured or something. Who knows for their tech?
Honestly, I love that because like, you know, fuck, fuck them.
Fuck them Germans. Well, yeah, which is fine by me.
They, they, they get what's coming to them outside.

(41:18):
I'd raise you again. Raise you I rage is fine rage.
Is like the asterisk we're. Just good people, but on the
whole they're all fucked. Agreed.
Absolutely. Absolutely.
That's that's that's my theory for for stuff that's happened in
these episodes for the future. All right, all.
Right. All right.
Well, shoot, I mean. And Benji got away.
Brothers and Benji did get away.Yeah.
He just like also rant like found a random tart and was like

(41:42):
man, our luck is really paying off for us guys.
That's just ODA being like, you know, I've used you for all my
plot points, and I don't really want you guys to suffer for it.
I'm just gonna write you guys out.
You're fine. Yeah.
You're chill. You're chill.
I gonna give you the Pedro treatment.

(42:04):
Oh, and we got to see, we had tosee big news Morgan's again.
That was great. Did.
I did. I tell you guys like, OK, I
think I wasn't here for when bignews.
Morgan's Gray star screens for the majority of the Tea Party
after like the raid had started or whatever.
But you know, when he's introduced to us, I remember
that this shit happened in the manga.

(42:25):
He would always say over and over again, this is big.
Like no, it's like just like at everything that he saw to the
point where even today in the subreddit community, everyone
anytime there's like an update on like the anime or like a new
chapter that. Comes out there's.

(42:45):
Always a flare that says big newGod.
What's staying power that those two words have had in the last?
Like, I think that this chapter must have come out like back in
2000, like 1618, somewhere in that time frame.
That's awesome, dude. Last 10 years we've had big
news, Morgans. Big.

(43:06):
News. Big news, dude, I'm I'm all
about it. Give.
Me more is big news Morgan the guy that takes the photos of
everyone's wanted photo or is that?
No, that is, that is a differentguy entirely.
In fact, it's at one point in time the the employee.
It was even Absalom himself. Is it not right now?

(43:28):
I thought he was currently the guy.
I think, I think he is a guy that does it, but there's a
couple of them, but like the ones that did the pre time skip
ones was the you actually met him.
There's a Marine by the name of brand new and I'm I'm not
kidding, that's his name. He wears some.
There's a Marine by the name of brand new and he's like an older

(43:49):
guy with like green hair and sunglasses.
He's always the Marine. I don't know if you've actually
noticed this, but anytime we getlike bounty updates, he's always
the guy showing the Marines the new bounties.
Like he he showed all the strawsoriginal bounties when they
first got bounties and they're like destroy our pirates.
I've become a big nuisance for the world government blah blah

(44:10):
blah blah blah. Anyway, he was talking to
another schmuck that just looks like a paparazzi guy with a
camera. The original guy that took the
pictures from the the Andy's lobby arc.
And and then the plot element asto why Sanji had a drawing was
because he left the lens cap on his camera.
If you remember this scene brandnew was the marine scolding for

(44:30):
it. But that guy was the picture guy
for like the the pre time skip stuff and in post time skip at
some point in time. I don't know if there's like
more than one employee, but ODA has said, and I think it's
because at sometimes people are like, how are, how is anyone
getting any of these photos? He fucking so for real.
And then it was like, you know, Absalom there, you just can't
see him cuz he's invisible. He just fucking pull that shit

(44:53):
out of his ass. Creepy.
But it makes sense. So I just wanted to clear that
up, clear that up for you was. There something else we're gonna
say, Devin, but I thought you, Ithought before that we got to
this tangent that there was someother thing that you were going
to say too, but I guess not. Yeah.
No, no, now I cut off Josh. Well, I'm going to say, are we,
are we just going to do it? I think we did.
It there was cake. What do you think about cake?

(45:13):
I mean, I love cake. It's it's cool.
Did. Anyone think that Big Mom was
going to go down for like the rest of the arc though after she
ate that cake? Or did I think she was getting
that coma mode? I kind of thought it they they
tease you a little bit with it where she's just in super bliss
mode and and yeah, so I mean, realistically she doesn't really
do anything after that. She just we have the musical

(45:34):
number and then she she glides on in for the finish.
And then gets on her jet ski frog.
Yeah. Candy Jet Ski frog, by the way.
Yeah. Yeah, I'm wondering how the
mechanics of that work. The question floats.
Density is not thick enough to sink so.
I, yeah, I did. I thought, I thought for a
little while that, you know, theentire time you, you even

(45:55):
brought it up on the, on the podcast initially where you just
went, what if she just like passed out?
I went, you know, that sounds pretty plausible, but since it's
coming from you, it's not likelyto actually happen.
But. Damn, you sussed me out like
that. You know I'm tired.
I'm fucking trying to talk. The entire time I was buying
into it for the most part and then these episodes happened and
I was like, oh, it's this it really is going to go down like

(46:15):
this. I mean, it's one of the things
that makes the most sense to me because it can with it, it
effectively is what is what allowed the the the straw hats
to get away outside of the sun pirates creating the giant
Whirlpool. Big mom just straight up not
being there because she went into this temporary coma is part
of that. So like, it's it's partially
true, but it's not. She wasn't out the entire time

(46:37):
and now poses obviously this threat to Germa and the sun
pirates. So, yeah, I, I thought for a
little while that she, she, she was going to do the same thing,
pull the same move that Veggie did where he just goes, it's so
good. I could just die right here.
I mean. She did do that.
She just didn't like stay down for very long.
Yeah, she knocked out of it. Yeah, I'm kind of more upset

(47:00):
that no one else got to taste the cake.
What, did you ever think that she would let anyone else eat
the fucking cake? Did you like going anywhere?
Near like, well, Paris Parra wasthere probably could have been
like, is this poison you? Didn't want to go anywhere near
her either. He's like fucking I ain't going
anywhere if she doesn't like that cake.
My ass is grass actually. Dude, if anyone went near her,

(47:23):
they're also getting in. Don't you remember what happened
in her childhood? You're right, but.
She even got like a she even gotlike a split like second like
feeling of it too. In fact I think the anime even
tried to like make one of her like bites of cake like ooze
blood or something to really nail home to the point that she

(47:45):
ate them kids. Big Yikes.
Yeah, in case you had any doubtsor poor.
In case there was any remaining doubt, like, yeah, she ate them
kids she ate. The fuck out them kids and
mother caramel. And mother caramel.
Yeah. Abso fucking lutely.
Yeah. You guys, I have one final
question. What do you think it smells like

(48:05):
inside Wadatsumi's mouth? All.
Fish. Yeah, definitely bad.
Actually, hold on, definitely I need to look up what kind of
Fishman Watatsumi is I. Don't think it blows.
Fish. I imagine it matters to me.
Imagine it's a mixture of Chiger.
Blowfish. OK, I have no idea what the fuck
that's also. Boys.
Oh nice. Probably.

(48:27):
I just assumed that whatever theinside of like a humpback whale
is, or like a Gray whale, blue whale, whatever the big ones
are, it smells like that. Well, all right.
Since you brought him up too. Poor Wadatsumi in these episodes
man, my boy. Dude, he's a hero.

(48:47):
Fucking hero. He was going through it.
That's my guy right there dude. All the wadatsumiators out here
man that show him these episodes.
Also, side note, how terrifying would it be?
You're on a a picture of this, you're on a boat because the
moment when like Wadatsumi, likethe the the just the fake out

(49:08):
that you did, you know, when he like grabs the the their ship
and swaps it for theirs? Yeah, like how quickly they went
underwater. Imagine you're on the ship and
all of a sudden in 1/2 split second you're just underwater.
How terrifying. Yeah, that'd be that.
'D be freaky, Yeah, that would. That would be scary.
But also, how did they not get like swept away from the water?

(49:33):
Don't worry about really fast, he's got a big mouth bro.
I mean, his mouth was it's definitely still filled with
water. The problem is they just show it
draining away randomly and you just go, I don't know, I guess
he swallowed it all. I.
Guess he has the ability to to exit the water out of his, yeah?
His mouth, he just has the ability to drain his mouth out
through his gills or something. I don't know.
Don't ask questions. The arc is over.

(49:55):
You've never been able. To swallow a little bit of water
in. All of it, bro.
Either way, still terrifying. Oh, absolutely, yeah.
Big Watatumi energy the. Unrelated, Watatumi is 25 years
old and that kind of shocks me. Why does that shock you?
Did you? Think he was younger.
He just screamed big kid energy. He acts like a child a lot of
the time. You.

(50:17):
Know a child? I would agree with that.
You've never seen a kid with a beard before, no.
I have OK, that's. Concern.
Also RIP Fisher Tiger's ship. We've lost 2 ships in this arc.
We lost two boats in this arc, man, the Nostra Costello and the
I don't know what it's. Called boat is called.

(50:37):
I'm gonna look it up. I wanna know what it.
Is stick ahead a name? I'm sure it has a name.
But we don't know it. The Boat of the Sun Pirates.
Yeah, that was, I mean way less emphasis placed on it than then
Beju ship, the Nostra Costello, but it's still notable, you
know, Fisher Tiger, this is the ship that Fisher Tiger built or

(50:59):
had had built. And we're just bro, just.
Such a cool name. It's called Snapper head.
What a name Snapper Head. RIP the snapper head at the
bottom, the ocean with the Mary and the Nostra Costello.
Yikes, you hate to see it, you really do.
We're all chilling, all their, all their.
What were those spirits called? All their All their boat spirits

(51:20):
are chilling together now. Bauderman Club.
Booterman. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Klebooterman, Klebooterman. They're, they're all big
chilling now. They're all dude, we're all
hanging out. I was.
So worried. All right, we're on boats again.
My, it stirred my brain a littlebit.
When big. When big.
Mom's. Ship shows up what?

(51:41):
What is it called? The Shante shunter.
Big monster Shante. Shante when that thing showed
up. We're also doing the musical
number where Big Mom is singing.I thought Big Mom had somehow
managed to get onto that boat, put the cake, put the cake on
the boat, and then make it all the fucking way toward to to
where the Straw Hat ship was in that 5 minute span.

(52:03):
And I was about to be annoyed again that for that we just,
we're just teleporting between these islands every now and
then. Well, well, Brulee's back on the
menu, boys. So like, you know, she's.
Just what kind of giant fuck offmirror like dude, because she is
like is her is the awakened formof her devil fruit that anything
with a reflection she can go through and she just went, oh,

(52:24):
ocean reflection. Now the Ocean's a giant.
Fuck off mirror baby. Baby brother, you don't know.
I just, I just made that up. But honestly, that'd be pretty
fucking sick to be to be clear. That'd be kind of cool, right,
that. 'D be like fucking bacon
version. That's what I just said, USOP.
I didn't hear it. I'm sorry.
USOP and me. The asteroids.

(52:45):
Hey, hey. You're the original.
I I. Didn't do shit.
I don't know what you're on about.
Get out of here. I know it was Justin.
What it was, it was indeed Justin.
I did. I did.
How do you feel knowing that we're not going to be in musical
peace anymore? Brother, I'm sad.
I really, I, I love musical peace.
I can't say enough how absolutely thrilled I was that

(53:08):
the dub committed to the musicalbits as much as they did.
There were there were zero timesthat they phoned it in and just
threw the Japanese music track on top and said we we're not,
we're not dealing with that. They they committed and I love
them for that. And I will always be thankful
because the bangers we got in these two episodes are in 75 and

(53:31):
77 are some of my 77 is actuallyon my sad boy Brendan hours
list, by the way. Add that to the list listeners.
I I love it to death. I really do and the the music in
both of them fantastic. Big fan.
It just it screams Disney meets like a little bit of musical,
but more like opera and it's just it's so much fun.
I love it to death. Yeah, and there's that little

(53:51):
bit of menace in there. I was just waiting for the land
to come out and then the second boss phase.
Oh my God, no. I mean, we're kind of at second
boss phase, to be fair. Now rides us a frog.
Yeah, that's her. That's her second phase.
Yeah, she you took down her first health bar by really just
letting her do it to herself. And then the cut scene is her.

(54:12):
E-mail. The all the cake and stuff.
And now she's in. Now she's in phase two, which I
would have believed if we didn'talready discuss beforehand that
these were the last episodes of the arc.
Yeah, I will say I think this ismy final question because, you
know, I I remember you guys wereconvinced this was the arc Big
Mom goes down. So obviously that didn't happen.

(54:33):
What are your thoughts? Does that mean Big Mom is
functionally written out of the story until the asterisk decides
she's not? Is she going to become a
permanent stay in the story? Like what?
What's what's her deal now? What?
What? What are we doing with her as a
villain? That's a good question because
it could be like 4 different things I can think of.

(54:53):
Okay, cuz I feel like for the whole because we're obviously
going to Wano next, I don't think.
Obviously, yeah, there's nothingthat can hold us from going to
Wano at this point, right guys? We definitely don't ever have
interstitial islands that we endup at for longer than we.
Expect right, right, clearly. Yeah.
Clearly I don't think she's going to come up until after.

(55:15):
Wano Okay, so we, we, we, we areof the mindset that whatever
happens in Wano stays in Wano, resolves in Wano, and then Big
Mom is back on the table. Right.
But the motive for why Big Mom is back, there's multiple
reasons like maybe she wants Sanji to make more food like
that's. One of the goals, but.

(55:35):
We're just gonna double down on that.
We're just gonna go back actually straight.
You're you're fucking, you're chef.
He makes a mean fucking No no, Ineed him.
It's more of like, I'm gonna kill you for doing everything
that you did, but also I really want your chef now like mine to
be. To be fair, nobody knows that

(55:56):
Sanji had a hand in that cake other than Chiffon.
Yeah, putting in the 30 bakers or whatever.
All right, Yeah. They all, they, they, they all
advertised it as puddings magnumopus and then puddings in the
corner like y'all. They're idiots.
You don't. Know I had a similar thought,
but for this arc specifically. Very briefly, when Big Mom was

(56:21):
active again after eating the cake, I went What if she just
lets them go because the cake was so goddamn good?
That's how we write this villainout of our story.
Right off the end of the arc. It was this is how we beat Big
Mom by by making Big Mom friend. This this maniac woman.
Yeah, she just. It was so good.

(56:42):
Well, like I like I said, like Ithink she's she's just going to
disappear for a while because like, you know, this kind of
leads into the flashing back of watching Jim Bay die.
Like there's going to be she's going to be occupied with Jim
Bay for a bit. We're not going to see it.
And then later on when after Wano, you know, is done and over
with, it's going to be revealed the whole what happened with Jim

(57:05):
Bay. And it's going to be like, yeah,
no, she, she definitely ate them.
She ate Jim fish. Fish Filet.
Just ate Jim Bay. That's that was that's what
happened to her. Outside of outside of Fish Filet
Jim Bay, I mostly agree with Devin in that I I would be very
surprised at this moment if Big Mom showed up Eduano for any

(57:28):
reason. My assumption right now I'm
operating under is that she's going to spend her time
finishing off the remnants of whoever opposes her now, whether
it's the Sun Pirates, derma, both none, whatever.
Then she's going to they're they're going to have to rebuild
Whole cake a little bit here. She's going to want to go after,

(57:48):
and I'm sure a lot of the kids are going to want to go after
the Straw Hats for everything that they did, but they also
need to kind of clean up the place a little bit here.
Yeah, I have a feeling there's going to be infighting because
looking at the pale woman who's just on Peanut Island, like,
devastated Amanda. What?
Her name is Amand. Amand her name is Amand.

(58:09):
Amand yeah, there's gonna be some infighting, I think.
Or internal politicking. Damn.
It was interesting. I also wondered if they were
just trying to emphasize all of the destruction that big mom
wrought by showing a mom standing on the ruins of of her
entire island or if this had a deeper meeting like Devin is

(58:31):
saying, where there's going to be.
Well, what are the this was so this was so devastating that
what if some of the one of some of her kids are thinking to
themselves, Well, I don't this is crazy.
We can't we can't be dealing with this.
This. She's killing people left and
right for what? Fucking wedding cake?
So. A change in the pecking order

(58:51):
might be in order here. I I am also of a similar mind
there where there could be something else going on here
that outside of just having to rebuild and restructure, there
might be some internal politicking going on here.
Like just just imagine category at the helm.
I'm on just like second may brulee with them because, you

(59:13):
know, homies got your back and then, like, I don't know,
versing like oven. I I don't I I would assume that
oven and genie guy, what was hisname?
Daifuku die. Fuck you.
Yeah, die. Fuck you.
Die fuck you. Exactly.
I would imagine that they would probably take Katakuri's side,

(59:36):
but some of the other some of the other siblings might end up
taking big moms. Pharaoh would be like Big Mom.
Yeah, Pharaoh. 'S Sparrow's definitely a mama's
boy. For.
Sure, the clown, Absolutely. He's he's definitely Mom Stan.
Bava Roche bavaros, Something like that.
I forget what his name is. Oh no, the clown guy's bondor.
I'm sorry, I was going to say. Smoothie Mom's side.

(59:59):
Yeah, they're, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a little,
if there was a little Civil War action going on.
We learn about in the big in theBig Mom pirate domain at some
point. It feels like it feels like.
It could be fun, but yeah, at the end of the day I don't think
we find out about any of that really until after a post wano
and whatever. Whatever's going.
To be It's going to be a while then, huh?

(01:00:20):
Yeah, it's going to be, it's going to be a while.
I I have also. Going to be a minute though.
I've also heard that that this coming arc is the longest to
date so. It is.
It is indeed the longest to dateby a large margin.
Mother, it's so fucking good. God, it's good.
It is good. It's it's not that it's bad, but
it is, it is very long. You will be, you are going to be

(01:00:42):
in it. Listen, I'm just going to say
like it only ended in real time.I think like a year or two ago
tops, something like that. And we, we started the podcast
while they were going into that arc, right?
Yeah, I'll even, I'll even pointout the chapter and the episodes
that were out. I think the episode was like
literally like one of the 1st 2 episodes of like, like Wano.

(01:01:05):
And then the chapter that came out, I remember the chapter that
I read the day that we started this podcast.
I remember what I was doing and where I was.
I'll, I'll point it out. I swear to God I will.
Oh, it would be great. So we finished.
I'm satisfied. The podcast Cool Great Mimi and
Wano no matter what. Mimi and Wano, and he will.
Share that with you. What's this word?
The meme. Oh, did you?

(01:01:25):
Did you jump ahead? The listeners weren't even ready
for it. Man, you got to like give a
little bit of warning. What memes?
The memes I. Don't know.
Justin's got. We didn't.
Tell them we also didn't tell them what next week is.
Brother. You skip the play, skip the
line. The memes.
The memes, right? Next week we've done it.
Next week is going to be 878 to 883.
And yes, you heard that right. Next week we'll be wait, no, I

(01:01:47):
thought we settled on 4 episodes.
What you guys doing? I got that wrong. 4 episodes.
878 2. 8170. 870-980-8181 You you fools, I can do math in real
time. You know what it was, I changed
it on the schedule sheet, but not down here because I made
this one first. Whoopsie.
That's okay, 878 to 881 listeners.

(01:02:10):
We will be doing a four episode stint.
I've sort of already given the guys a little bit of preamble of
what is up and coming before we get to Wano and you know, we're
just, we're gonna try to, we're gonna get through it and we'll
do a little 11 extra so. Fluffy, he confirmed that we're
going to Wano next. There is no in in between,
Devin, you hear that? All right.

(01:02:32):
We're going to the in between. What do you mean?
Going to Wano. Nah, bro.
There's there's at least 12 plusepisodes between now and that is
all it's saying. Covering stuff that's happening
in Wano from the other half of the cruise side.
You also told us why we're doingwe're slightly speed running
these episodes. To get to Wano.

(01:02:56):
Not exactly, yes, but also no. I'll be.
So fucking for real, these episodes are these upcoming
episodes before Wano are a little annoying because like
there is a lot of Canon content just layered in filler, But like
it's never it's never like a single episode devoted to
filler. It's like, oh, hey, we're doing
Canon, Canon, Canon. Let me give you a 10 minute

(01:03:18):
filler Segway back to Canon, Canon Canon.
It's it's the worst of the worst.
It really. Is annoying.
However, I will tell you right now that the the new stuff, the
fresh the oven stuff is very enjoyable personally.
I don't believe you. I don't.
I don't know why we're talking that far ahead.
We don't need to give him that preamble.
But anyway, moving on to 1. Yeah, I don't think he's not

(01:03:39):
talking about current day. He's talking about this stuff
like what we're gonna get in these episodes.
Yeah. Maybe fresh out the oven isn't
the best term, but you know, fresh to us.
Misleading but. Fresh out of the oven.
Now moving on to quotes. Justin, Say the line.
Say the line. Thank you.
I'm glad you got it. Pull up.
But waiting for you to land a wano come at any cost.

(01:04:00):
He's got, he's got a gift ready.People you, you can't see this,
but he sent a gift to us. It's something about the meme.
I'm still waiting. On the discord.
Well, this is the meme Eddie. The the real meme format is hey,
I'm starting one piece. Me caught up me me.
I wanna. Is that really a bit?

(01:04:20):
I didn't know that was a bit. It was the longest fucking bit
for, well, I guess four years. I'm thinking we're starting one
piece. What are your thoughts?
You just send them this gift waiting for you at the land of
Wano. 900 episodes later. Shit, that's a good bit.
I like that. I mean, it's, it's a little less
relevant because we finally leftWano, but.

(01:04:43):
It's like a couple. Of years was current man that
that meme would have hit yeah, that would have.
Hit for a long time too. It did hit for at least like 4
years, 4:00 to 5:00. Years.
The best meme for four years? Yeah, it was for at least four
years. Meme go that's that's good
longevity. I I agree, yeah, that was that
had some. Stain invest in Wano coin four

(01:05:04):
years ago. Yeah, I just, I, I have two
quotes, one from Pudding, one from Brulee or I, I just love
the interaction between Brulee and Katakuri.
Their, their, their wholesomeness is, is is
endearing to me. And and then putting, putting
sobbing as she says, y'all, y'all are idiots.

(01:05:26):
You don't know who really made the cake.
And then she listen. It gets me.
Man, by the way. Tickles it tickles the shit by
the sorry I shouldn't say quote,I should just say moment.
Y'all are fucking idiots you don't even know.
It tickles me, man. It tickles me.
Anyway, that's it. That's why I got.
I. Specific quote the the just the

(01:05:48):
line where three ways, like I would tell you what's happening
with the straw Hats, but that would just make you you know
that you just probably smile andhe goes, ah, so you could see
into the future too. It's.
So cute. It's such a, it's such.
A Big Brother thing to say. Shit.
Also a JoJo reference. Also a JoJo reference question.

(01:06:10):
JoJo. Jojo's Zawaldo.
There it is. I see you 2 can see in the
future. Next you'll say.
I'm really Curry. You're not a JoJo character.
I could be what I want really. OK, hold on.
To be fair, Kodak Curry would bethe perfect fucking JoJo

(01:06:31):
category. Fairy JoJo.
Got the trip. He's got the fucking Joseph Joe
star bit. He's got the My man will be
clouded in fucking Ecology walk he's got.
The JoJo pose. Everything I I well I just need
him to do a JoJo pose like do the Super.
Lean back. It it it it was everyone's
favorite joke when Katakuri was introduced and everyone was just

(01:06:52):
like, oh so Oda's writing JoJo combat bad thing now?
Speedo Wagon post. Post.
Hopes best girl. Great bits dude.
All right, so. Wagon is best girl.
He is best girl. So I've got a couple quotes here
too. I there was one big mom quote

(01:07:13):
that I wrote down because it wasjust so kind of out of left
field, but also was so big mom. I had to I have to read it for
you guys again. She go, it's in the middle of
this musical number in 75 and she goes, look, yes, it's a big
fuss. It's like when you throw a bomb
into an amusement park. OK, OK, you know, this whole

(01:07:40):
this whole music number at this point was fairly hinged, but now
we've gotten unhinged and. That was, that was the straw
that broke this. Was the straw that broke the
hat. This was, yeah, this was the
straw hat that broke the hinges.Yeah, truly.
Then I've got little little Brulee when she's on the
stretcher and and and Katakuri is very worried about her.

(01:08:03):
She goes, no, you're fine just the way you are.
And it breaks my breaks my heart, man.
She's so concerned for him when she's so badly hurt.
And then in in 876 when Jinbei is interacting with Aladdin,
which by the way, I was kind of upset that we didn't more do
more Aladdin fighting die fuck you, because then we could add

(01:08:24):
Aladdin versus the genie. And I realize I feel like
there's a missed. Bit here.
That would have been really cool, right?
I would. Feel like there's a missed,
there's a missed opportunity here.
That's just my opinion. We have flashbacks.
We have possibilities. Flashbacks.
It's true, we'll find out in 200and some odd episodes when we're
in the four digits finally. But Jim Bay's talking to

(01:08:45):
Aladdin, and I think it was thismoment.
Maybe I'm mixing it up now, but either way he, Aladdin goes, I'm
happy to die, but I'll be damnedif I'm getting out of your way.
I think he was actually getting attacked by Oven in this
instance. Maybe.
But either way, he's talking about shielding Jinbei in the
Straw Hats. And I'm like, damn, that's my,
that's, that's, that's the guy right there, right there.
That's my fucking guy. That is my boy right there.

(01:09:06):
That's it for me. That's all my quotes.
All right. Well then, moving on to the
Golden Ham guys, I got to be so fucking for real.
I could give it to one of three people, but only one of three
people. Damn, I was seeing somebody
earlier and I forgot. Oh wait, no, I remember who it
is. I want Aladdin because my man,
my man did did showed up, show up the bat.
I also want Pudding because I love, I love the fucking I do.

(01:09:27):
I love the dynamic. I'm not sorry to say I'm not
embarrassed. I love it.
I could also give it the Brulee because she was just like, so
miraculously and unequivocally sweet in this set of episodes.
For, for I know what she had, you know?
Right with this Aladdin pic. Quality fucker.
These other. Two say what?
You had me with Aladdin pic. Look that was respectful.
What the fuck are these other two man?
Fuck you, man, I I I pick pudding.

(01:09:49):
I believe that he. Would.
Pick them bro. I'm gonna be real my my number
one overall draft pick, and I feel like it should also be in
your top three at minimum is whynot sue me, man?
He, I mean, yeah, he was, he wasa homie.
But like, you know my man. Put in possibly the most amount
of work. Yeah, well, OK, you know, yeah,
he did do a lot of work. You're absolutely right,

(01:10:11):
physical and mental heavy lifting here.
Like there's like, there's all these other important things
that are happening outside the sue me smack.
Puddings putting stuff not important.
I'm just gonna be so real. You love it, but it's not
important. You suck.
And I, I I'm gonna, I'm gonna I'm gonna go against myself here

(01:10:32):
and say that, Brulee, I love that.
Not important. Fun and I and I and I enjoy the
extra back story. Not important.
Arguably less important than fucking pudding over there.
I would also say that and I I obviously have a distaste for
pudding and all of that. My picks are either Wadatsumi or
Jinbei to be to be honest. This has got to be a fisherman,

(01:10:54):
that's all I'm saying. The fisherman put in a lot of
work. Fisherman did do a lot of work.
They did a lot of the heavy lifting here.
Would you say Devin Wadatsumi? Hell yeah, that's my point.
I. Think I I think it's because.
I know they're going to die. Wanatsumi is fine, although
Wanatsumi did also. No, I mean Wanatsumi did also
throw up a red flag when he went, you know, Straw Hat Luffy.

(01:11:17):
I was a bad boy back in Fishman Island and I I was naughty.
I was naughty, but now I'm not. So by the way.
Are raised there now we just have to wait for them to, you
know, billow in the wind in a flashback and then, you know,
crumble. Anyway, I'm fine with giving it
to Wadatsumi. I'm more than fine with that.
All right, fine, I guess Wadatsumi wins.

(01:11:39):
Yeah. Boring 875 to 7.
I love looking at this list of like the trend of the week where
it's like badass character, silly, possibly silly for the
trend of. What do you mean?
We literally did the most work. I'll give a.
Mysterious. Mysterious was great.
To literally do that. No, no, no.
Yeah, but like without context, like when you look at it, it's

(01:12:04):
just like Katakuri, badass character.
Especially one of. Mysterious miss stones and then
Watatsumi. It's like they're clearly
yanking the chain. The fucking thumbnail we chose
for the the most recent like katakuri pic for golden ham
metal as shit. Fucking fire.
Mysterious Miss Stones is not gonna be metal as shit next
week. You don't know that.

(01:12:26):
You don't know that. Yeah, I.
Know where I place my bets? Nah, urge to hear.
No, no faith, No faith that's. What I'm saying, man.
All right, moving on to fan mail.
Who's fan mail this week? I got this.
It's your boy. Panda pulls back out again for
the third week in a row. Because he's the go.
He's the best. How old are you right here.

(01:12:49):
Good morning. Although who knows what time
you're reading this at Podcast Bros.
I swear the. Evening.
It is definitely evening, I swear.
I do have a question to ask for both Devin and Christian and
also another one for specifically Justin and Brendan,
but wanted to get a small event and appreciation off my chest
first. Today marks the first Saturday I

(01:13:09):
don't have to work at my second job.
So after I. Love that for you.
Oh yeah brother, after about 13 to 15 years on and off for
school and switching main jobs Ihave worked 2 jobs and today is
the first time I don't have to wake up early to do a 12 to 14
hour shift. Jesus, God bless you.
Dude, I've I've been on that 12 hour a day, seven days a week

(01:13:30):
grind. I I feel you.
Trust me that that. Shit's fucking trooper, man.
And a half. It's odd, but these last three
years, every Saturday morning and late night when I drove to
and from work, I would listen tothis podcast.
It was a perfect way to start a long weekend and the best way to
end a stressful day. So thank you for everything.
Also, it so happens that the 12 hour Paloozas today.

(01:13:52):
I really hope I can finally catch some of it.
Cheers. Hey, it happened.
We hope you got to tune in even for a little bit.
Now for my question to Devin andChristian.
Do you think you would have enjoyed One Piece more or less
if you were to watch it without the responsibility of recording
a podcast alongside your viewingexperience?

(01:14:12):
I'm a little curious about how this may have affected your
watching experience, or if it really hasn't affected it at
all. Christian, you want to go first?
You want me to go first? I'm I'm fine with going first.
I definitely would have enjoyed this show far less.
I can guarantee you that with 100% certainty that I but the
lore, the lore of this podcast is was was partially to get me

(01:14:35):
to finish this show, you know, like.
Yeah, that is. Stopped this show two different
times in two different ways. And so having basic this this
podcast basically ended up beingmy accountability buddy here for
for watching watching the show like people have accountability
buddies for working out or eating right like I had one for

(01:14:58):
watching a stupid anime. So I yeah, that I absolutely
would have enjoyed this far less.
And if we if we operate under the assumption that I didn't
stop at any point, I actually did just commit to watching
this. Having the discussions every
week or every recording with theguys here has been so much more

(01:15:21):
entertaining and added so much more value and layers to the
ways that I enjoy the show and have in the past and will
continue to because we we have alot of fun making jokes at the
expense of what happens. But we also get to share in the
really cool moments and the hypeof each moment.
And you know, Brendan comes in obviously with a lot of the, the
fun facts and things that we wouldn't have gotten just from

(01:15:43):
the show, you know, from mangas,SBSS, so on and so forth.
We get stuff from listeners likeyou who send us cool information
or, or hot commodities on what goes on in the one piece world.
And so all of these things pulled together amalgam and they
make this this thing that just makes viewing the show so much

(01:16:06):
better for me. And so I I I would have had far
less fun without it. I.
Honestly, for me, yeah, it's kind of a similar boat where
without the show, like if we didn't have the show, I don't
think I would have continued. I would have dropped it off
again. But now, because, you know, it's
almost like it's it's the gun behind my head is the way I like

(01:16:27):
to phrase it. Where the podcast it like I'm
I'm here for spite and because Iwant to get through it all.
Don't know. Don't know how else to phrase it
where it's like, I'm here, I'm, I'm doing it, I'm doing my best.
I may not be liking all of it, but you know what?
It helps that you know to be able to rant about it every
week. Devin, I have a question.

(01:16:48):
Do you think at the end of One Piece, whenever the fuck that
is, that you'll wake up and say,you know what, guys?
I think I like One Piece. Yeah, it's called.
Stockholm syndrome, I mean, we, we have already said it.
Yeah, we we had Devin say that he liked the show like 100
episodes ago or something. Some part, some some dressrosa.
Yeah, it was Dresserosa. Got them boys so.

(01:17:10):
We are, we are already there. Oh, he's.
Got to run it back. Yeah.
No, it's a racist memory. All right.
That, that next part of the e-mail here is for Brendan and
Justin. Has there been a significant
wait? What waiting?
No, no, I, I said hey, sorry, sorry.
I I acknowledge that my name wassaid.
For Brendan and Justin, has there been a significant change

(01:17:30):
and how you've interpreted the show now that you are re
watching it at a slower pace andanalyzing it a bit more than you
would from a solo first time watch?
I'll go first on this one. I think I am I.
I think unfortunately life has changed a bit for me the past

(01:17:51):
year. So like my attention on Whole
Cake has been far less honed in compared to like the rest of the
series so far. So I feel like I've been doing
Whole Cake a bit of disservice, especially for the, you know,
being the arc. I never fucking watched the
first time. I think.
I think that that holds true forme.
I do look at One Piece now with the more critical lens.

(01:18:13):
And also because at least for a large part of this show so far
and for the foreseeable futures,I've been taking a break from
like the current stuff for the most part.
But up until now, having all of this like future knowledge and
seeing where ODA finally like connects some dots or expands
upon things. And then, you know, going back

(01:18:34):
to these, you know, long stretches in the past and seeing
where, oh shit, that's where that thing began.
Or that's when ODA let us know he was thinking about this other
thing that's going to happen farin the distant future.
Things like that. And seeing how does like
everything comes together and like all these kind of like
Easter egg kind of things. It's like all the bread crumbs
I'm finding all of a sudden I didn't see the first time is

(01:18:55):
actually really cool. So yeah, it definitely has
changed my my interpretation, myunderstanding of the show.
It might low key make it more fun.
Yeah, that's my answer. Good answer, good answer.
I would say, you know, I do think that this this this
platform has given me an additional the layer of

(01:19:15):
appreciation for for the franchise as a whole.
Just because I get to I had to, you know, experience the show
again and you know, like sort of, you know, shoot the shit
with my friends and then also share that enthusiasm with like
the rest of our community and stuff.
But I mean, this show is not thereason why I get different
things out of the I've already seen the show back-to-back a
couple of times. Brendan Lohr I've already seen

(01:19:38):
through Whole Cake. I before.
Well, OK, before we started the podcast, I had seen all the way
through dress three times, once in sub and twice in dub or
something by that point. So like, yeah, like I, I choose
to rewatch the show. I didn't need the podcast to do
that for me. So I I have a question for you
too. Now I think about it.

(01:20:00):
Has there been something where like Christian and I have said
something that made you re evaluate something like a like
like your perspective of something in the show
drastically where it's like, oh wow, I never thought of it like
that before and it still lingers.
For sure, I can't give you an example unfortunately, but
everyone here usually gives me anew perspective or opinion or

(01:20:22):
they pinpoint something I missedthat you know.
Like the shelter to. Expands my you know, understand
this guy appreciation did. Did I ever think that she didn't
eat them kids and did did you shine my light on my eyes on
that? No, of course not.
But like, no, I think I think that part of the fun about like
what you guys bring is just commentary and difference of
opinion. And there are plenty of thoughts

(01:20:44):
that you guys have that I've never had.
Absolutely, for sure. And not all of them are
radioactive like that. I can admit that.
Someone put a container container.
What's that? What's that that Meg or
something like that? The the spirit, the the that.

(01:21:06):
I'll send a photo of it later. 319 that's where 3. 19 That sort
of goes back to what I was saying, like re experiencing
this show with my friends is itsown reward, but it it but doing
doing the podcast and watching through the show slowly again,
but it does not add like, Oh man, I, I well, you know, to be

(01:21:29):
fair, there was that one time indrum Kingdom when we were in
choppers back story that I, I did forget or I didn't
understand when Ehrlich blew himself up that he like
literally blew himself up so that the poison wouldn't kill
him. I didn't.
That didn't click for me until we watched it on podcast.

(01:21:49):
That that's a real story. I remember that moment.
Thinks all the time when I rewatched the show.
Demon Core, That was the thing Iwas thinking of.
Gotcha. Put in the Demon core.
I am the demon to answer the question just of opinions.
Panda Pool ends with Sorry for along e-mail.
Love you guys. Best regards Panda Pools.

(01:22:09):
Thanks for the e-mail, my friend.
Thank. You for the e-mail and
congratulations on on the Saturday off once again.
That's that's awesome. Hope you have plenty more of
those. Becomes a permanent, permanent
basis, actually. All right, moving on to producer
shout outs. It's Taco and it's me, Rabbit.
Hey, we love you. You are the best.
Another month how? About some enthusiasm in the

(01:22:29):
back there, guys, come on. What the fuck?
Jesus Christ. Another month I gave it a woo of
you giving us your hard earned money and we love you for it.
I'm my movies are moving forwardto the to the to the movies.
One of them I've seen already and get to indulge in somebody
else somebody who hasn't seen it.
Yeah. Probably.
Me. That's the movie.
I'm thinking of it. Is it is so I'm looking forward

(01:22:49):
to that one you. Definitely don't see a lot of
movies. I'm just kidding.
I mean, you know, it's true. Christian, it's that time.
It is. It's garbin and Gabin time baby.
Last week I pulled out of the gab.
So this week, I, I, I'm not pulling out of the gap because

(01:23:12):
Justin is going to pull out of the gap.
You know, that's fair. I missed the week, Justin.
I also had to be the fucking theweek before that.
I was like the guardian or you know, you had the garb gap or so
I thought. So I had a emergency grab bag.
But then Devin swapped it with the actual garb gap, and I don't
know how you did that. Point is, Devin, Excuse me,
Brendan got bitten by a black mamba.

(01:23:33):
Oh my God. I take care of by the way.
It did. Happen, yeah.
You know it's my turn to go intothe bag.
Sure. So there's nothing living in the
bag this time. I'm not sure if that's
comforting or not, but you. Know they would bring us all.
I guess, you know, we're gonna put her hand in.
It's like it's, you know, it's something.
Hold on, it's. Butter water, that's.
Correct, it is something it is not butter water.

(01:23:55):
You got to stop dude. Butter water was so like 3 weeks
ago. You're right, it was.
You're not. Squishy it might be butter water
adjacent. It's cake but like mushed up
cake. I'm not sure if that was my
fault or yours. Like did the cake get like
harmed in my entrance? No, they were definitely
perfectly sliced pieces of cake when I put them in there.

(01:24:15):
So you rooting around and it probably ruined it to be honest
with you. Yeah, I mean, I'm sure there's
some good, there's some good pieces in there still somewhere.
But thanks for. We're.
Talking about here, we got like some Trey Sleche's or.
Some Strawberry Shortcake. I I put some flan in there too.
Not strictly cake, but it's likecake at Jason, so I, I figured

(01:24:37):
why not. And also there were some
leftovers at work, so oh, OK. We thought you would pull this
one out. Oh, this one's purple.
Hold on let me know, is this like UBE based cake?
It is. Wait.
Are we eating cake or are we doing the garbage?
Wait, what the hell is the garbage?
Yeah. He's on to something because I
put, I put the piece of paper inside the slices of cake.
So he's got a. He does have to work through the

(01:24:58):
cake a little bit to get to. It hold on.
OK. A little sweet treat for the
boy. There it is.
We got ourselves a casting call and it's for a big let's go.
It's been a minute. Since we call feels.
Like it's been forever. Yeah, I, you know, I'm, I'm

(01:25:20):
excited for this one. I, I want to go first.
I, I would say doing it. My list is a little.
Moo. It's a little thank you, Thank
you. Guy got some, got some
interesting picks never before seen.
Do it, man. All right, I have I.
Have on my bingo card that all of us have at least one the
same. Like we don't have the same
problem. Yes.
Well no, I mean I always pick like 4 people.

(01:25:42):
Oh, no, yeah, I know. I I have AI have a list.
You're saying that like we'll have crossover?
There's one crossover, at least I think every.
Single one of us will have picked at least one person
unanimously. That's crazy interesting.
If anyone picks what I have on my list, I'd be surprised
personally. So starting off with, well, let
me get it out of the way first. Robert De Niro can play anyone,
anything, anytime except Big Mom.

(01:26:05):
I'm a I'm a say it, I'm a say it.
Robert De Niro. Why you?
Bring it up then. Let people know, all right?
Everyone thinks I'm just going to say Rob Nero for everything.
And that's where you're wrong, bro.
He's a he. He's a phenomenal actor because
you know his range is big and wide, but you know he he can't.
Do it. I like how you're you're telling
them that they're wrong, but youare literally saying he can do

(01:26:26):
anything you are actively saying.
You think about every exception here, Brendan.
Are you not listening? No, it's it's not an exception
because you are continuing to pick him for everything, no.
I'm, I'm, I'm giving the asterisk.
I'm like, listen guys, I know you're starting to say uh huh,
babe. Rob.
No, but not Big Mom, I think. Although he can't play a mean
fucking veggie and I stand up. All of the casting calls, you

(01:26:47):
said Robert De Niro, this is, this is not one of the ones that
I, I think he's got a better chance at Big Mom than some of
the other things you've said forhim, to be clear.
Agree to disagree then. Anyway, move on to my list.
First one here is Angelina Jolie.
Now not this is a weird pic. Hear me out, hear me out.
It is. It is a weird pic.

(01:27:08):
Experience playing villainous roles but also in movies that I
can remember watching of her. She can.
She could be quite a menacing character.
I mean, she was Maleficent. Yeah.
Yeah, she's. Maleficent probably a lot of
stuff I haven't seen in her movies in quite some time.
I also don't know if she slowed down her acting in the in the
past couple years. But you know what stuck out to
me was the movie you wanted. She, I feel like her character

(01:27:29):
in the movie was kind of menacing, had a in a tense aura
to her. And I think some of the fun with
this is that I kind of want to see Angelina Jolie play like an
ugly old hag. I want to see what the cosmetic
department can pull off with this.
Yeah. Moving on here.
I have. I hope I pronounced her first
name correct. I think it's Maely Flanagan.

(01:27:51):
She is the voice actress for Naruto and the English dub.
She also does she also does havelive action experience.
She does look at a lot of like Disney Channel stuff or I
haven't seen her recently but she looks a.
Little sweet for that, but OK I.Think she she can handle the
comedies? Yeah, I think she has potential.

(01:28:14):
She has, you know, obvious experience in the anime
industry. She has the live action film
experience or, you know, filmingexperience.
She can handle the goofiness very well.
I have no doubts about that. I I want to see if Mailee
Flanagan could pull out that mean angry, menacing aspects of
of her acting prowess. I I want to give her the shot, I

(01:28:35):
think. I think this could go well.
And my final pick here, which I'd be surprised if anyone
fucking had this, is the actressSuzanne Pleschet, if I'm
pronouncing that correctly. The way I learned this name was
I went to the Wikipedia for Spirited Away to look up for the
voice actress of You Baba in thein the English dub.

(01:28:57):
And I found out that Suzanne Plescher was actually an actress
for a long time, primarily like the 60s and ultimately, I think
the 80s. And then she started winding
down. Yeah.
So I really was just in it for the voice and like the the
character traits that come with like the voice of You Baba.
Listen, she's been on camera before.

(01:29:18):
So I say fucking let her have it.
I saw she got older. I think she she could, you know,
pull off like a big moms, not like a witch, but like, I don't
know, I would associate big momslike aesthetic, kind of like a
witchy Halloween character. Just, you know, with the.
Couple of weeks. OK, Yeah, it was.
My day. I was mistaken.
My bingo card will not be filledout this evening.
I didn't have any of those people on my list.
I only got one person that I could think of, and this was

(01:29:40):
just like, like, I'm terrible with like actors and actresses.
So my first gut instinct, I don't know why, just for fitting
the vibe, was Rebel Wilson from You know.
Perfect. Wilson.
I don't hate that. Because she's got like, you
know, comedy. She's a little thicker.
She's not anymore. Actually, you know who she.

(01:30:02):
Was No, I did not. But more importantly, she
doesn't have the menace. I, I don't know, I just, I think
she could pull it off. No, I, I think that was cooking
here. I hear what I hear what you're
saying. And you're correct that she's
been primarily been typecast into a a comedy character.
But like I, I don't know. I've.
Given the opportunity because like, I don't know, I feel like,

(01:30:23):
you know, comedians are really well known for like being able
to pull off bad bulk or villainsand everything.
I think because they understand execution and everything.
But like, I don't know my gut and I think that's.
Something here I think. I like this.
OK, I. Think I'll see OK.
For sure, yeah. That's a.
That's a pick. It's.
I couldn't think of anyone else honestly because.

(01:30:43):
I'm with a fucking blowtorch. All right, Chris, do you wanna
go or is it my time? I'll I'll go.
I. Have.
I mean, go ahead, I. Have a couple picks.
The the 1st is, you know, I was trying, I wanted to have one
slightly older actress, but still can maintain badassness

(01:31:05):
and, and can handle a certain level of both goofiness and have
the the menacing aura of Big Mom.
And when I contemplated this, the first actress that came to
my mind was Jamie Lee Curtis. Yeah.
Yeah, I think I can see. That Jamie Lee Curtis can do
both sides of Big Mom really well.

(01:31:26):
That if she flips that switch, we make her 30 feet tall or
whatever. Big Moms Actual.
Height is. And, and we give her all the
necessary facets of Big Moms personality.
I think Jamie Lee Curtis could definitely fuck with a Big Mom
roll heavy. My only problem with Jamie Lee

(01:31:46):
Curtis is that there's just there's a better character for
her, and it's Correa. It just is what it.
Is, I mean, that is true. And I think we've even talked
about this before where somebodytold her that about One Piece
and that she should play live act.
Was it was it specifically live action career or did someone
just get her into one? Piece.
Yeah, yeah, there, there was apparently like I, I don't know.
How was it like part of this conversation failed or

(01:32:08):
something? Or.
She. She.
And her grandkid are fans of theshow like they love the show.
Her favorite character is is Robin and and they also love
chopper to death. And everyone was like jokingly
typecasting her as career hot. Even she came out she was like,
well you heard it here, Netflix fucking give Mama a job.
I want to be career hot and I don't think it never went
anywhere there. Another actress will will play

(01:32:29):
Correa. Yeah, I I got another one for
the like a legitimate like, oh wow, I I remember them being a
villain and it would work reallywell.
Sigourney Weaver. Yeah, Sigourney Weaver would be
a good thing. Yeah, that's.
True. That's true.
My, my, my second pick is going to be a well, one that I had to
dig a little bit through the recesses of my brain for.

(01:32:53):
And, but I, but I came up with, there's a this woman actress,
unfortunately no longer with us,but her name is Louise Fletcher
and she played, she's most knownfor the role of Nurse Ratchet in
One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest movie.
Louise I mean, if you've read orseen One Flew Over the Cuckoo's

(01:33:17):
Nest, you know what sort of character nerf Ratchet is.
And I think that she's ends up being a little bit less on the
goofy side. There's much more of the, the,
the, the dangerous aura behind her and the psychological aspect
of it. But I think that I think that I
think that she would she would do well.
My third pick is somewhat I, I, I'm glad I saw this movie

(01:33:40):
recently in order to have this pic, because I think she's
probably my favorite. When I thought of her, her, I, I
did. I'm going to ask for forgiveness
ahead of time because I may, I may mess this up a little bit.
Her name is Oluwanmi Mosaku, andshe is the actress who is most
recently known for her role as Annie and Sinners.

(01:34:07):
OK, OK, she she does a really, Ithink that she she's also for
anyone who hasn't seen Sinner's recent movie release, she was
also in Deadpool and Wolverine as the head of that like time
wibbly wobbly, timey wimey agency.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And and a few other things.
She's also in the Loki series asthe same character, but I'm sure

(01:34:27):
there's probably a whole bunch of other things that people know
her from. But those are the two that I've
seen recently. And I think that as far as being
able to switch up tones again and do both sides really well, I
think she'd be fantastic at that.
So I, I, she's, she's probably the my favorite pick that I came
up with because I think that shewould do really, really, really

(01:34:49):
well. And I've got an honorary pick
here for Robin Williams. Shout out to Mrs. Doubtfire.
This is doubtfire. You know, I'll fuck with this
one. Mimosaku pick.
That's that's a that's a. What are you saying?

(01:35:09):
Robin Williams. I have Tyler Perry on my list.
I'm just. Adam Sandler, what are you doing
here? Rob Schneider.
Rob Schneider, you can play anything.
Yeah. Raise that design on your phone
list, Christian. All right, well, I'm going to
preface this by saying that in my universe, dead people are

(01:35:31):
alive. Anyway, I start by saying Betty
White, baby, because she could be a mean hole.
And she can. Be this is like other people
we're going to pick. I did.
I ain't going to lie to you. I really did.
I think this is this is the partof Big Mom's character that I

(01:35:53):
think we need to remember. You can't just be menacing.
You can't just be a menacing oldwoman.
You got to be a little fucking silly.
It's big bomb, dude. What do you look at her?
You're aesthetically like, I don't know how I'm supposed to
feel with you. And then like her aura is what
makes you be afraid. Well, I tell you, brothers and

(01:36:14):
and and non binary pal, Betty White is it?
Yeah, unfortunately she is no longer with us, but she would be
it anyway. Movie God.
I also pick Meryl Streep. Feeding that Gator.
Yeah, feeding that Gator. I always pick Meryl Streep
because you can't have Big Mom without musical numbers, and
Meryl Streep can hit some fucking musical numbers.
We need, we need that talent. We need that.

(01:36:34):
Talent. No.
I fuck with this Meryl Streep pick, actually.
Hell yeah yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I also pick, I think this is going to be the the
controversial one. I also said Melissa McCarthy for
a lot of the same reasons that Betty White is on the list
because it would just be so silly to see.
But you know, obviously have youguys seen, it's called, um, 9

(01:36:56):
perfect people or something likethat, Like there are perfect
strangers. All right, it's a show.
I think it was a Hulu original. Melissa McCarthy had a, a little
bit of chops in that, in that show.
I, I think she, she could play adrama.
Was she a villain? No, but I, I, I want to see if
maybe she can, you know, be, be the menacing person instead of
being only the funny person. I think she's got an, an

(01:37:18):
opportunity in there. And then finally, I picked
because I wanted some diversity in my picks, Angela Bassett,
which I don't think any of you probably know who she is by
name, but she is the queen. Oh yeah, I'm familiar.
With her work she all my homies are like 911.
I'm familiar. Angela Bassett, the Queen, baby.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think, I think Angela Bassett got that

(01:37:40):
fucking energy everywhere she goes.
She's got the aura now. I don't know if she could pull
off the funny part as much, but.Yeah.
About Sofia Vergara. Just shut up.
You know, I thought about that too, but like, no way you.
Know what you thought about Sofia Vergara Sofia.
Vergara is not my big mom, bro. Totally.
You're talking. About so you know, I'm convinced

(01:38:05):
that that you Brendan and you Justin googled some of your
answers here because I I looked up for fun live action Big Mom
fan casting while we were sitting here.
Brother and they're all off the 2.
Of your options are on this are here, there are three.
There are three posts that came up immediately.
One of them was for Melissa McCarthy's and then the other

(01:38:28):
was for was for Maelee Flanagan. So both of you I'm considering
I'm not stand for the. Slander, what I will say #1
community clearly has good taste.
All right, that's I'm going to say.
No, I think you guys. Are cheaters.
You're calling us fucking fakes because we came to the table
with the general consensus as a detailed option.

(01:38:51):
I also want to point out these are not general consensus.
This is on these are on some website called my cast and one
person just put it out there andthey were like I think this
really. Never seen this this fucking
website in my life. Fuck you I.
I my life either, but you know what it took to get here.
One Google search. I didn't Google big mom fan

(01:39:12):
cast, sorry I just didn't I'm. Telling you I did, if I didn't
act or an actress for my castingcall people or whatever, I'm not
going to write it going hey guys, who would you?
I don't read it. Either no, I'm going to fucking
Google. Hey, who's that one dude from
that one movie? Because I remember fuck all
about names. Fucking exactly bullshit.
Christian, you're not understanding his point.

(01:39:34):
We are not going online and Googling Big Mom live action
ideas. We are going online and we're
saying, who's that one actress that I remember from that movie
that I'm. Just saying there's a little too
much, there's a little too much coincidence here is all I'm
saying, you know? What?
Honestly especially especially especially the the Melee fan

(01:39:55):
movie. I agree with that then, but but
besides the point. I ain't standing for this
slander. I I did.
I did my piece. I spoke my piece ass changed my
mind. I don't know what you're doing

(01:40:17):
over there in the corner. Alright.
You need to just like, relax. Never.
Anyway, I'm done. My list is complete.
You know what I I take back whatI said X amount of weeks ago.
This is my favorite episode evernow.
OK, I I don't know how literallynothing of nothing of substances
has occurred. To everything happened.
This was. This was, this was it.

(01:40:38):
This is. This is the pinnacle of
podcasting. I hate it.
Jeez, if that's the peak, wonderwhat the lows are going to look.
Like, I don't know. Episode 1.
Yeah, somewhere in the 1st, a couple dozen.
Episodes, actually. Episode 0 is great.
Somewhere somewhere in the firstcouple episodes or for a couple
dozen. I mean, Devin, do the.
Thing Follow us on Instagram andTwitter at Panda Sightings.

(01:41:01):
You could also send us emails atpandasightings@gmail.com.
If you want to financially support us, there's a discord in
there. We got several options in there.
We got a red bubble with stickers and stuff.
You know, some old stuff that was on our website that used to
be on a website is now on stickers and cups and stuff.
Fuck. Did you mention the e-mail I

(01:41:23):
blanked? I did the e-mail.
I don't I don't think you mentioned any.
Did you mention the e-mail? I did the server, yeah, he
mentioned this story I. Knew that the shop was closed,
that he he nailed it for me otherwise.
Gold fucking star, buddy. Yeah, that's.
Christian, look, I got two of them now, yeah.

(01:41:44):
Oh no, I didn't give you the first one that wasn't.
That wasn't. Right.
I gave it to him. I gave you the first one.
You gave me a Gold Star earlier.Well, I I said I'll give you a
Gold Star. I didn't actually give you a
Gold Star. Oh, you're the worst.
You're a fucking liar. Yeah, gas line.
Over it. Well, I'm taking this Gold Star
for eating ass from you. This is no.
One's giving you a star for that.

(01:42:04):
That's me. I gave that to him.
OK, well, you know, that's fine.Whatever.
