Amplify Your Kingdom Message: The Power of Podcast Guesting with Sabrina Hammonds

Are you a Kingdom woman in online business looking to expand your reach and impact? What if the key to amplifying your God-given message lies not in chasing social media algorithms, but in authentic conversations that reach deeply engaged listeners?

In a recent episode of the Kingdom Revolution podcast, I had the privilege of speaking with Sabrina Hammonds, founder of Kingdom Connections Podcast and Media Agency. Sabrina helps transformational leaders amplify their message and connect with their ideal audience through strategic podcast guesting.

How Podcast Guesting Can Transform Your Kingdom Business

Sabrina’s journey into podcast guesting began unexpectedly. With no intention of starting a business and no knowledge of what a podcast was, she found herself offering to help someone share their powerful testimony. “I had no idea what I was offering to do for this woman,” Sabrina recalls. “And she says, ‘Yeah, I’m supposed to be speaking. The Lord’s already told me that. Let’s do it.'”

This led to what Sabrina describes as “building the plane as you go” business model, where she discovered podcast guesting as an effective way to help her clients share their message.

“Never discount yourself or count yourself out from doing what you feel like God is leading you to simply because you don’t know. It’s okay. He knows and that’s enough.”

Getting Started with Podcast Guesting

If you’re interested in trying podcast guesting, Sabrina recommends starting in communities where people are looking for collaboration partners. Here’s a simple approach:

  1. Join communities (like Kristen’s) where podcast hosts gather
  2. Share that you’re passionate about your topic and looking for opportunities to add value
  3. When someone responds with their podcast, listen to 2-3 episodes to understand their message and audience
  4. Reach out authentically: “I listened to your podcast. I listened to this episode. I totally relate and resonate with what you shared. I think I could really add value to your audience because this is what I’m passionate about sharing.”

Remember, podcast hosts are looking for guests who can fill in gaps and solve problems their audience is experiencing.

Quality Over Quantity: The Power of One Connection

Sabrina emphasizes that podcast guesting isn’t about the number of shows you appear on, but the quality of connections you make. She shared how one strategic connection with Nadine Mullings has created multiplication in her business and for her clients.

“God is a God of relationships. Through this one connection, there has been such multiplication in my business and in the business and connections for my clients—I can’t even tell you how much, it’s almost too much to count.”

This approach aligns with Kingdom principles. We’re not doing business the world’s way, focused solely on numbers, but the Lord’s way, where He can multiply the impact of even one appearance.

Common Mistakes to Avoid When Pitching Yourself as a Guest

Sabrina highlighted four common pitfalls to avoid:

  1. Lack of research: Don’t mass-pitch to podcasts without thoroughly understanding their message and audience. “Spirituality doesn’t mean the same thing to everybody,” Sabrina warns.
  2. Self-focused pitching: Focus on how you can add value to the host’s audience rather than listing your own accomplishments.
  3. Giving up after one attempt: Many podcasts receive numerous pitches daily. Follow up if you don’t hear back initially.
  4. Trying to fit in: Understand and confidently com

to take your established platform tonew heights, this episode provides
a blueprint for leveraging podcastguesting as a kingdom building strategy

(01:15):
that honors both authenticity and.
Excellence.
Sabrina Hammond is the founder ofKingdom Connections Podcast and Media
Agency, where she helps transformationalleaders amplify their message and
connect with their ideal audience.
She's passionate about sharingstories and testimonies that
inspire and transform lives.
Her work focuses on strategic podcastguesting, fostering kingdom collaboration,

(01:40):
and uniting leaders to leveragetheir unique gifts rooted in quality.
Over quantity.
Oh, Sabrina, I'm so excited to have you asa guest on the Kingdom Revolution podcast.
And for those of you listeningto this episode, you definitely
need to connect with her.
She is such an amazing woman of God, andI'm so blessed to have her here today.

(02:00):
So tell us a little bit about who you areand how did you get into podcast guesting?
Yes.
Thank you.
For podcasting
in general, because thatstory is kind of interesting.
Yeah.
Thank you, Kristen, for having me.
I'm super excited to be here and I'llgive you the Cliff's notes version of my
story, because really I got into business.

(02:22):
In a time that I was not looking forbusiness and sometimes I think God just
Leads us to places we wouldn't find onour own and that's really kind of where
my story started No intention of startingbusiness didn't know what a podcast was
But I started a va business and thenmy first client for virtual assistant

(02:43):
work Became my first client for podcastguesting and it all started with a
story, a testimony that impacted me onsuch a deep level that out of my mouth,
I said, you need to share this message.
And can I help you do that?
And immediately after I knew that wasthe Lord, because I had no idea what

(03:06):
I was offering to do for this woman.
And she says, yeah, I'msupposed to be speaking.
The Lord's already told methat let's, let's do it.
And so it was this building the planeas you go kind of business model.
Like I had no idea what Iwas going to do to help her.
And I literally Google researched, how are people speaking?

(03:28):
How can they get their message out?
And that's when I discovered podcast.
So I just always like to say, neverdiscount yourself or count yourself
out from doing what you feel likeGod is leading you to simply because.
You don't know because it's okay.
He knows and that's enough.

(03:48):
Oh, I love that It's so amazinghow our Heavenly Father works and
guides us and directs us and wait.
I did I just say thatYeah Oh, that's so good.
And you help other Kingdom mindedwomen share their message and their
powerful story through podcasting, but specifically podcast guesting.

(04:11):
So for those that are listeningwho may have never heard of podcast
guesting before or using it as atool to expand their reach and share
their message, can you tell us alittle bit why it's such a powerful
tool and in what ways does it help?
us grow our business and make an impactwithout being a slave to social media.

(04:32):
Yeah, so something you may notknow that I have found interesting
in my research is that podcastingis said to be more influential in
people's decisions than social media.
Now, I didn't believe that.
Because I thought social media, that is the end all be all, right?
But actually, research has shown thatpeople are going to social media more to

(04:56):
scroll, not to actually consume content orinformation, or even for their business.
But it's more of the scrolling, not foractually gaining knowledge and wisdom.
But that's wherepodcasting comes into play.
Because would you believe, people, literally are making decisions about their
life and business based on conversationsthat they have heard on podcast.

(05:22):
And the reason is this is your goldenopportunity to have a sit down with
those that God has called you to serve.
They're getting to hear andget a glimpse of who you are.
And the transformations that youbring in this 20 minute conversation,

(05:42):
20 to 30 minute conversation.
And that's what makes them sopowerful and what makes them, I
feel like, accessible to so manypeople on the podcast guesting side.
So maybe you've said, I'm not a speaker.
I don't have experience.
In fact, I am such an introvertand I can't even imagine

(06:04):
putting myself out there.
Can you sit down and grab a cup of coffeeand have a conversation with somebody?
Uh, yes, you can.
You can be a podcast guest.
You do need to have some clarityaround your message, right?
And who you serve.
But aside from that, this is not about.

(06:25):
building a perfected speech.
This is about taking what God has givenyou and sharing it with those that are
hungry for the solutions that you carry.
Yes.
I love that.
And you made a very importantpoint that you don't have to have.
a podcast in order to be a podcast guest.

(06:46):
So you don't have to have apodcast, a YouTube, a blog in order
to start to share your message.
You can leverage the strategy thatSabrina teaches to start getting even
clearer on your message because claritycomes when you start to show up and
you really tap into that God givenmessage that the Lord wants you to

(07:08):
share through your online business.
So I love that you mentioned that.
So for those of the listeners thatare like, okay, I want to try this.
I think it would be a good use of mytime because the return on investment
is huge through podcast guesting.
How would they even start to approachsomeone so they can be a guest on

(07:31):
their podcast, approach them in anauthentic way where they're showing up
and wanting to add value to that guest.
podcast host as well.
Yeah, I think a great place to start iscommunities like what you have, where
you are literally providing a placefor people to come and collaborate.

(07:52):
It's the least intimidatingway to get started.
And it's the most genuine and authentic, like, Hey, I am someone who is passionate
about X, Y, Z, and I'm looking foropportunities to share my message and
to be in places where I can add value.
Is there anybody in here who has a podcastthat where you are speaking to X, Y, Z?

(08:15):
Who is your ideal audience?
Could we have a chat or a conversation?
And so just starting there, someonecomments in the post that you made.
And they share their podcast.
So what do you do from there?
You're going to want togo and listen, right?
And listen to a couple, two or three oftheir episodes and get a feel for their

(08:38):
message, their audience and what it isthat they're using their platform for.
And then you get to go back to thatperson in a genuine, authentic way.
I listened to your podcast.
I listened to this episode.
I totally relate and resonatewith what you shared.
I think I could really add valueto your audience because this is

(09:00):
what I'm passionate about sharing.
And again, you are positioning yourmessage in such a way that These are
the gaps that I fill in when it comesto the people you're speaking to.
It's not that you're coming on thereand sharing the same message, right?
They're looking for guests who canliterally fill in gaps and solve problems

(09:20):
that their audience is experiencing.
So you're going back to thathost and that's what you're.
what you're sharing with them.
And you're asking them, Hey,can we have a conversation?
I would love to be able to share XYZwith your audience because I know that
this is a struggle that they're having.
Yeah.

(09:41):
Oh my goodness.
That's good advice there.
And it's simple.
It's just a way you can start toshow up is find communities where
You, where people are lookingfor collaboration partners.
So I love that.
And that was a huge tip there.
Go listen to their podcasts, go researcha little bit about them, because that's
going to show them that you have done yourhomework, you know what you're talking

(10:05):
about, and it elevates you as a authority.
In the online space, which is goingto definitely set you apart as well.
And I love, there's nocompetition in the kingdom.
We each have our own unique gifts.
And find that gap where you can add valueto those other people's audiences, which
are your specific ideal client as well.

(10:26):
So, so much good information here.
I know that for both of us, it'simportant that we really share
our message to advance the kingdomhere on this side of heaven.
And past conversations with eachother you know, that it's important
to me that we really take a stance.

(10:47):
to take back territory that the enemyhas stolen, to advance the kingdom here.
And we get to do thatthrough our business.
It's the vehicle that the Lord givesus, but that other vehicle through
podcast guesting to share that messagetoo, to create that ripple effect.
So how in your mind, in your words, canpodcast guesting help to shape the culture

(11:08):
and elevate, you know, God's vision andwhat he has for us in the marketplace?
Yeah, so when I was thinking about ourupcoming conversation, I was reminded
about one specific connection andI know you know her and I'm cool to
give a shout out to Nadine Mullings.
So she is such a connector and so I'veactually found her years ago in 2021 when

(11:33):
I First started with podcast guesting.
I found her podcast.
I connected a client to her and she hasbeen one of the, I would say such a key
connector and even someone who has sentme clients over the years and connections.
And literally this isone person, one example.

(11:57):
And I found her because I realizedthat her platform and the message
she was putting out was absolutelyaligned with the clients that
I was serving and still serve.
Like her platform is stillvery much aligned, which is
why we have stayed connected.
But I share that because this is the powerof one strategically aligned connection.

(12:20):
And this is a testimony for myself, but I know also she has been such a
valuable connection for All of theclients that I have sent to her.
And I think there's this idea in thepodcast guesting space of quantity, right?
The numbers are so important.
And so I need to be on 50 podcasts, you know, this year or whatever,

(12:44):
in order for me to meet the goalsthat I have for my business.
And I'm here to tell you thattime and time again, the Lord
continues to remind me and evenus As kingdom ambassadors, right?
That we are connecting with people.
God is a God of relationships.
And through this one connection, there has been such multiplication

(13:07):
in my business, in the businessand connections for my clients.
I can't even tell you how, like I it'salmost too much to count to be honest.
And so I say that.
To encourage someone listening that it'snot about how many podcasts that you

(13:27):
can get on even though, right, we shouldset goals and have goals for ourselves,
but it's in the way that you connectwith other people doing the research,
finding people that are genuine genuinelyaligned connections with your message
and your mission and then cultivatingand nurturing those connections.

(13:47):
I mean.
I could use you as a key examplebecause we've been connected for quite
some time and I cannot even tell youjust how much I appreciate you opening
your doors and your platform to meand to the people that I have served.
That's multiplication.

(14:08):
Like, and you do it in such a way thatliterally, I know there is no competition.
We're here to elevate one another.
And so that's how you can utilize podcastguesting to create this multiplication
and ripple effect in your business.

(14:28):
Connect with people like.
Nadine, like Kristen, who are reallyall about advancing the kingdom
together where there's no competition.
Oh my goodness.
So good.
I was getting Holy Spirit goosebumpsthrough that because I love Nadine.
She's amazing.
I just was, I just, we justinterviewed together yesterday.

(14:50):
because I'm going to be aguest on her new series.
So for those of you listening, ifyou're on my email list or stay tuned,
you'll be connected with Nadine or reachout if you want to connect with her.
I will definitely get her informationor give you her information
or Hey, we'll even drop that.
In the show notes because yes, we'reall about community here and that
ripple effect that's created with justthe power of one that the Lord can do

(15:15):
so much that multiplication effect.
And I love how you strive quality overquantity because a lot of times, I
mean, even when we put that businesshat on, we see the numbers, we have
to look at it through a kingdom lensthat we're not doing business the
world's way and how the world saysthat we're doing it the Lord's way.

(15:38):
And he can take one loaf of breadand multiply it like one podcast
guesting appearance and multiply it.
So I love that.
Yes.
So can you provide us sometips for avoiding some common
mistakes that you have seen whenpitching yourself as a guest?

(16:00):
Yeah, I feel like we have kindof led into, or maybe touched
on those, and one is research.
Thinking, again, that it's so importantto get your message out to the masses
that you grab a list, a large listof podcasts, and you really just kind
of Get a taste or a feel, but youdon't actually go and listen to them.

(16:23):
And so you're just mass pitching yourmessage to multiple platforms, hoping that
something is going to stick or resonate.
So lack of research really leads to theseconnections that are not even aligned.
Do you know, spirituality doesn'tmean the same thing to everybody.
Yeah.

(16:43):
I have made the mistake ofthinking, Oh man this title of
this podcast, I resonate with that.
I know my client would, Ithink they'd be a good fit.
And then I had to literally go sodeep into this person's message
and their mission because it wasn'teven clear on their podcast exactly
what they were talking about.

(17:04):
So yeah, come to find out this person was.
So not aligned.
We were not speaking the same language.
So don't make the mistake of saying, ofthinking or making assumptions without
doing the research because you don'twant your message just anywhere, right?
The other thing I have foundis really not knowing how to

(17:26):
position yourself as the solution.
And so you're trying to sell your message.
Like you're just telling the hostall the great things about you
and all the great transformations, but it's really more self focused.
And I don't think it's intentional.
I don't, I think really we justdon't understand how to position

(17:49):
our message and how to add value.
So your pitch, Just ends up being likethis laundry list of why you're so great
versus I've done the research and thisis what I can provide to your audience.
So not just trying, not trying tosell your message, but serving.

(18:10):
Another.
issue that I find is Sending a messageor an email once and never following
up and you take that as a no But letme just tell you some podcasts are
getting so many pitches every singleday that Yours might actually just get
lost in the mix and maybe they neversaw it or they saw it and they haven't

(18:33):
had a chance to respond or Maybe theydon't have this great system, right?
Of bringing people on.
So lack of followup issomething that is so important.
Like don't just think it's a no,be sure and go back and follow.
And then I touched on this last one.

(18:56):
But I really just want to emphasizeunderstanding the value that you
bring and positioning yourself as asolutionary, like in your pitch and
your message or your email, knowing thevalue that you bring is so important
because otherwise you try to fityour message into somebody else's.

(19:16):
platform, like, let me see how I can craftthis thing in such a way that they do see
me as the solution versus showing up asthe solution and knowing the value that
you bring because there is a difference.
We're not supposed to figure out howcan we fit, but really understanding

(19:38):
our value and sharing that.
Yeah.
With the podcast host.
Yeah.
Well, those are some great things to startto implement to avoid some common mistakes
that we see when we pitch or we're gettingpitched to have guests on our podcast.
I've definitely gotten some of thoseemails where it's like, Oh, goodness.

(19:59):
You haven't even done theresearch of my podcast and sorry.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I love that.
And I know that part of what you'regoing to be offering the listeners
here is going to provide so much value.
in not making those mistakes andfiguring out if podcast guesting is

(20:21):
something that they want to take thatnext step and get help with doing.
So you want to talk about the visibilitystrategy session that you are offering?
Yeah.
So I'm so excited about this becauseI really, I feel like this is what
the Lord gave me because he showed methat we don't know what we don't know.
And when it comes to podcastguesting, that's what I find a

(20:44):
lot of times is You don't know ifyou're presenting your message.
Well, you don't really know if youroutreach strategy is effective and
maybe you don't even know if this is theright visibility strategy for yourself.
And so in this session, really,my goal is to take a look at

(21:06):
your message your audience.
What are you doing topromote your message?
Are you feeling like.
I have to be on all the platforms.
And so my strategy is to blast mymessage on all of those every single day.
You don't know what's working.
And so I want to be able to takean inside look at those things that

(21:28):
you're doing, the message that you'reputting out and see where are the gaps.
And is podcast guestinga strategy for you?
In this time and in this season, are you utilizing and leveraging the
connections that you already have?
Like, I feel like sometimes as businessowners we get so overwhelmed with doing

(21:48):
all of the things that we don't reallyknow what's working and what's not.
And we're tempted to just add moreto our plate versus Stepping back
and thinking about what we're doing.
And sometimes it takesanother set of eyes and ears.

(22:09):
on what we're doing in order to say,Hey, have you thought about this?
Or what if you did this instead of that?
And so that's really the goal ofthis session that I want to invite
those listening to schedule.
Amazing.
Well, thank you so much for that.
This is definitely goingto be a valuable session.

(22:31):
So if you have the prompting, youfeel that Holy Spirit prompting inside
to connect with Sabrina, definitelytake her up on this visibility
strategy session because you aregoing to leave with so much clarity.
Oh, thank you so much.
This has been absolutely amazing.
Do you have any last minutewords you would like to leave
the listeners with today?
You know what, what comes to mind is weall have to start somewhere and I, for

(22:56):
me, I've been in the past, you know, feeling like I cannot do XYZ because
I'm only here, like this is where I'mat in my business and I don't even
feel like I can put myself out there.
I think of email list numbers.
I think of social media followers, you know, and those numbers.
Everyone starts somewhere.

(23:16):
So don't allow what you feel likeis lack to keep you from showing up.
Oh, so good.
Thank you so much, Sabrina.
I appreciate your time today.
Thank you,
Kristen.
I appreciate you forletting me be on here today.
Yes, and for those of you listening,if you found value, please share
this with a business bestie today.

(23:37):
Alright, have an amazing day.
