#31 Kimberly Stewart- Orienteering What Exactly Is It

Had a very informative chat with my friend Kimberly about Orienteering. She participats in events and recently directed her 1st ever Orienteering event. I actually stopped over to Yellow Creek State Park in PA where she held the event. I've been interested in doing an event so wanted to see things first hand. Bittersweet Race. I won the 5k in a time of 18:44. Was a little slow.  I ran 20 miles yesterday and biked 20 miles and didnt get done till 9:15 pm and the race started at 9 am so didnt have much time to recover. Which is why I was a little slower then I have been over the last few weeks. Felt good though once I got started. Legs fully loosened up a couple tenths in, did not have much juice though. Fort Days 5k 1st Overall 18:07.

One of my best times if not my actual best time ever for the race. Condotions were perfect. I have won it a couple times before. I felt strong today. My legs felt good and my form was perfect. Just felt so fluid. Lead from start to finish. Could have knocked a minute off. Took the inclines super easy. Actually never pushed hard whole race. Just one of those magical type running days.

Super stoked about this. Im the 1st person ever to win all 3 distances. Marathon, 15 miler and 5k. Ill hang my hat on that achievement. Anyway this year obviously I did the 15 miler. Felt really good. Was below 50° before the start. So got some medical gloves from the fireman. Started off little slow as I warmed up. Stayed in 2nd for 1st 3ish miles. Laurel Highlands Fall Classic 50k and 50k Relay recap:

Took 1st Overall in both races. Was able to do the relay if I did the first leg. Originally was only doing the relay but decided a couple days before to sign up for the 50k as well.

Finished the 50k in 4:58:14

Was 29-30 seconds faster then last year. Mentally wasnt in when i arrived something felt off. Never really locked into race mode but somehow put down this time. Which im happy about. Felt good overall this morning. Legs were tad tired but rest of me good. Only had a nugo bar to ear and soem gatorade. Not my best time but by far not my worst either for this course. Could have shaved 20-30 seconds off but I was not gonna win so no sense in pushing it. Could have caught 2nd but didnt care to spend the energy. So hung back since I had a huge gap between me and 4th. 20 seconds at the turn exactly.
