Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey everybody, it's
Carl Gerard on the One Mic
Podcast.
Hey, listen, it's a story thatyou're going to be interested in
.
A confrontation at a NorthCarolina middle school leads to
a school lockdown, two arrestsand, with a different twist, the
principal being suspended.
Also, marvel Comics has made acontroversial change to one of
its most beloved characters, andyou're not gonna like this one,
(00:25):
folks.
All right, so let's kick thisoff.
At Randolph Middle School inCharlotte, north Carolina this
is a story coming out of WCNC.
A parent named Mariah Hector, who was 33, was arrested and
charged with assaulting a schoolemployee and second degree
trespassing at Randolph MiddleSchool in Charlotte, north
(00:46):
Carolina.
Now Hector allegedly becamehostile while speaking with
school staff about herdaughter's involvement in a
fight, and she then allegedlypushed past an employee, shoved
the school principal, jenniferStrader, into a wall and then
grabbed and attempted to chokethe superintendent.
Assistant superintendent, begging my pardon, jennifer dean
(01:09):
.
The school was placed onlockdown before hector was taken
into custody.
Now she wasn't alone.
Additionally, there was anotherperson there by the name of
trinity nixon, who was 20 yearsold, and trinity is charged with
second degree trespassing atthe school.
Now, according to the charlottemecklenburg school's records,
(01:31):
the principal, jennifer straterhas been suspended with pay.
The reason for her suspensionis unclear, but it comes days
after the principal of audreykell, who was also suspended
without any type of explanation.
Something wrong here.
I don't know what could havetranspired.
(01:51):
They got two principalssuspended around the same time.
But I'm interested to find outbecause this seems a little odd.
Now the confrontation is theconfrontation in this story.
It doesn't say that principalschrader was, you know, in there
tussling, uh, you know, with uhmariah.
But listen, um, I don't knowwhat transpired in that
(02:17):
conversation to have this youknow young sister in there, you
know, choking out, trying tochoke out the assistant
superintendent and putting handson the principal.
I for one am a person who was abig advocate of, when you go to
your child's school, to carryyourself in such a manner in
which your child will not bejudged based upon your behavior,
(02:39):
or appearance for that matter, because you got some people that
do that.
Um, I don't know whattranspired here.
I don't know if, like they say,if it's in connection, uh, with
jennifer schrader's uhsuspension but also having
another you know principal inanother middle school I believe
it was another middle schoolthat was suspended as well.
(03:01):
At the same time, it's a littleodd.
So could be a number of reasons, we don't know.
But as the school year startingto wind down and come to a
close, some places might evenyou know, uh started their
summer vacations already.
Hey, listen, guys, we, we got tocarry ourselves better going in
these school situations and,you know, kind of keep our
(03:21):
emotions in check, which is easyfor me to say behind this
microphone, because, again, Idon't know what the conversation
was like that made Ms Hector gointo this whole frenzy in the
office allegedly, allegedly, butI'm quite sure More will come
out as time goes on.
(03:41):
But what I do want to do iscall on you, the public, who is
listening to this particularstory and might have some kind
of inside information on whattype of principal Jennifer
Schrader was or is, I should say, because you didn't say she was
fired or anything.
If you have a child that goesto Randolph Middle School there
(04:14):
in Charlotte, north Carolina, or, you know, if you have a child
that goes to Audrey Kell, let usknow what type of practices was
going on in that school.
I mean, was these principals, you know, good principals or
were they, you know, jerks?
We don't know, but, you know, just wanted to figure out what
was going on.
That might have had themsuspended also, you know, with
with the ladies here gettingarrested and all, was it some
type of coalition between thetwo.
(04:34):
So we just want to know yourthoughts on that one, you know,
what do you think might havehappened?
You know, give us your thoughtsdown in the comments on what
you think might have happened inthat particular situation.
Now get into our next story.
Yes, marvel comics has finallywent ahead and pulled the
(04:55):
trigger on this one, a new blackpanther storyline.
Now this is marvel comics, notthe mcu has introduced
t'challa's white-skinned son, katima, as the man stop playing
as the new black panther andking of wakanda and marvel
knights imprint of marvel comics, the world to come.
(05:18):
Now the story goes as thispolitical unrest in wakanda
right, they say.
In the story set in the nearfuture, where Wakanda is facing
an uprising led by a resistancegroup known as the Aquamarines.
T'challa's challenge is thisKatima challenges T'Challa for
both the throne and BlackPanther mantle, accusing him of
(05:40):
failing to support his people'sautonomy.
Despite T'Challa's superiorfighting skills, katima
ultimately defeats him, forcingT'Challa to relinquish his
position.
Now it's revealed thatT'Challa's reunited with his
former fiancee, monica Lynn, andit's unclear whether she is
(06:00):
Katima's mother, leading tospeculation about his background
.
The exact canon status of thisstoryline is uncertain, but more
details will emerge when thisbook is released.
Marvel Knights the World to Come, volume 1, number 2, on July
9th.
I never would have thought theydid something like this.
(06:22):
It is a blonde-haired,blue-eyed Black Panther, blonde
hair, blue-eyed black panther, and you know there were years of
jokes regarding that.
When they do these you knowmovies and whatnot, will they
ever, you know, race swap acharacter like this?
(06:48):
And I'm like dumbfounded and Ithink a lot of people are going
to be ticked off.
And again, folks, this isMarvel Comics, not the movies,
not the movie.
So if they ever recast T'Challa, I'm pretty sure you will not
see Ryan Gosling playingT'Challa.
So let me know your thoughts onthat one as well, because
that's kind of deep that youknow.
(07:09):
They would actually pull thetrigger and make the new king of
Wakanda, the new Black Panther, white, whether it be in the
comic books, the movies oranything of that nature.
Do you think this was a goodmove?
No, I mean me personally.
No, I can see the backlashcoming from this, but you know
(07:34):
people are going to do whatpeople do, so I mean, in this
particular day and age, I'm notsurprised by much so.
With that being said, these areyour two stories.
Once again, a superintendentand a school principal allegedly
were attacked by a parent afterhaving a conversation about the
(07:56):
parent's child's involvement ina fight, and that
superintendent I'm sorry theprincipal, jennifer Schrader,
again was, you know, suspendedwithout pay, along with another
principal at Audrey Kell MiddleSchool, I believe.
It is, and what is yourthoughts on this?
The new Black Panther storylinein Marvel Comics.
(08:19):
I guess an imprint of MarvelComics, marvel Knights, the
world to come is introducing usto a white, white Black Panther.
