Speaker 1 (00:02):

drop show, where we break downtoday's biggest moves in culture
and community throughconversations that matter.

(00:26):
All right, y'all, peace family.
Once again, I hope you're alldoing well.
This is your host, carl Gerard, and I appreciate you locking in
with me today, whether you'vebeen rocking with this, every
episode or this is your firsttime, tapping in this space is
about truth and clarity andconversations that actually
matter.
Now I'm not here to tell youwhat to think, I'm just here to

(00:47):
lay it out for you.
All right, let's jump into itNow.
There's been major developmentsin the trial of Sean Diddy Combs
.
As of today, the federal juryin Manhattan has reached a
verdict on four out of fivecharges, but they're still
deadlocked on the big one, whichis the racketeering conspiracy
under RICO.
That's the charge that couldbring the harsher sentence,

(01:08):
potentially life in prison, andlead to a full asset forfeiture
tied to Puff's alleged criminalenterprise.
Now, what's interesting here isthat the jury did agree on some
of the charges, like sextrafficking and transporting
individuals for prostitutioncharges like sex trafficking and
transporting individuals forprostitution, but when it comes
to the racketeering, it's split.

(01:29):
The judge is pushing to keepthem deliberating, even though
some of the jurors have alreadysaid they may not be able to
reach a unanimous decision Incourt.
Now there was a lot of emotionsgoing on.
Diddy shared a quiet exchangewith his mother before heading
back into Holden and meanwhilehis legal team clashed with the
judge over how certain laws arebeing interpreted, especially

(01:51):
around whether giving someonedrugs counts towards
racketeering.
The court was real tense.
Y'all it was real tense.
So what's next?
The jury is going to be back atit tomorrow at 9 am and if they
can't reach a decision on thatfinal charge, the judge could
declare a mistrial on theracketeering count and just move
forward with the partialverdict that they have.
Now here's some of thebreakdowns of the charges that

(02:13):
he had.
The number one is that theyhave the sex trafficking, which
is related to coercion andtransport of individuals for
commercial sex acts and alsotransportation for prostitution.
That was, moving individualsacross state lines for illegal
purposes.
Now the RICO chargeracketeering conspiracy they're
talking about that's the mostserious one and that alleges

(02:34):
that Combs led a criminalenterprise involved in repeated
illegal acts, including drugdistribution, violence and
trafficking.
Now this is all you know, real, real wild.
So I want to know what you guysthink about it.
Should the court accept thepartial verdict and move on and
keep pushing for a decision onracketeering?
Hit us up in the comments,y'all, and and call in if you

(02:56):
need to or if you're able to,because this case is far from
over now.
I'm just going to give you alittle personal thing.
Like I said to me and this isjust me personally everything
that he did was like immoral anddisgusting, if you ask me.

(03:18):
I mean, some of the details ofthis case was very, very
disturbing, and me personally.
We've all probably had theseconversations with our people in
regards to what you think theoutcome is going to be.
Some people you know say he'sgoing to walk.
Some people say that you knowhe's going to get hit with
everything.
Some people is on the fence onwhether he should go to prison.
Some people on the fence onwhether he shouldn't go to
prison.
I think you know he's animmoral freak, but I don't know

(03:44):
if that's a crime.
To be quite honest with you, Idon't think they really have
anything in terms of thecriminal enterprise, because
he's the only one on charge forRico, which doesn't make it a
Rico charge.
If you ask me, I'm not a lawyer, but I watch a lot of court TV.
So if what happens is is thatif they want to put them on

(04:05):
trial for that, I don't seewhere they have a case, and I'm
pretty sure, with all of thesesetbacks, that they probably
realize they don't have a caseto charge them with the big fish
which is the RICO Act.
But again, hit us up in thecomments or call in.
Like I said, this is far fromover All right.
