culture and community throughconversation that matter.

(00:28):
feeling well and blessed today.
I'm your host, carl Gerard, andI appreciate you locking in
with me, whether you've beenfollowing every episode or this
is your first time tuning in.
This is a space about truth, clarity and conversation that
truly matter.
I'm not here to tell you whatto think, folks.
I'm just here to lay it out foryou, right?
So let's get into this.
One man.
When keeping it real goes wrong, brothers and sisters, somebody
(00:51):
eventually pays the price.
This is one of those wildmoments where clout chasing and
chaos meet fireworks, literally.
Let's talk about this rapperhere by the name of 4Xtra, and
some of y'all might know himfrom the no Jumper podcast, but
this week he made headlines notfor music, not for bars, but for
blowing up his own fingers onthe 4th of July.
(01:11):
You big dummy.
That's right, folks, I'm notexaggerating.
4xtra hopped on social mediatalking about, and I quote, who
wants to get blown up today, flashing fireworks on X like he
was about to go to war, butinstead, who wants to get blown
up today, flashing fireworks onx like he was about to go to war
(01:33):
?
But instead of lighting up thesky, he lit up his own hand.
Word is, he lost two fingersand even went temporarily blind.
Now let's stop here for asecond, guys.
This is bigger than one guy'saccident.
This is a real example of howego and performance and poor
judgment, especially whencameras are rolling, can
literally cause you a piece ofyourself.
And now his sister's out heredoing damage control, launching
a gofundme to help cover medicalcosts.
She says he's full of life andenergy and honestly, I believe
(01:54):
that I don't think this wasabout malice.
It was about not thinkingpurely.
It was not thinking at all.
And, as expected, the internetcame with zero chill.
Some folks was quick to, youknow, quick to joke on them, you
know I mean, uh, others wereconcerned, but here's the real.
This didn't need to happen,folks.
It didn't need to happen.
(02:14):
I mean, we all know the wholesituation that happened with
plexico and countless situationsthat has happened, you know,
with people blowing their handsoff and stuff with these
fireworks, and now with thesecameras in play, we're living in
an era where everything iscontent but family not.
Everything is worth the post.
(02:34):
We got to remember this, guys.
Some things are better leftunlit, whether it's clout, ego
or trying to entertain.
It's not worth your health,it's not worth your peace.
We see this on the internet allthe time, guys people recording
fights, people recording ortrying to entertain.
It's not worth your health,it's not worth your peace.
We see this on the internet allthe time, guys People recording
(02:55):
fights, people recordingarguments with their spouses.
Everything is not worth.
You know content worthy, allright.
So let me ask y'all have you orsomeone you know I hate to sound
like one of those TV lawyershave you ever been injured on a
job?
So let me ask y'all again, y'lawyers, have you ever been
injured on a job?
So let me ask y'all again y'allhave you or someone you know
ever had a firework scare andwhat's your take on this?
For a whole, four extrasituation, guys, hit me up in
the comments.
Let's talk about realresponsibility and how we move
(03:19):
smart, especially when thespotlight is on.
All right, okay, guys, justwant to jump in real quick.
Get your opinion on this one.
And you know again, guys, everything and especially to a
lot of all of these influencers,quote-unquote and content
creators, guys, everything isnot meant to be public
(03:39):
consumption.
You know what I mean.
I've seen everything on thesesocial media platforms, to
murders, sex violence.
You know arguments, fights.
Everything is not publicconsumption, folks.
It's just not.
And I think that in the agewhere we have these cameras and
everybody's a quote, unquote, star or influencer, of course we
(04:01):
all know that watching thesevideo clips and stuff is bigger
than actual network televisionat this moment.
So when you post in content, guys, when you're doing things
out here, you have to move alittle bit better, all right.
When you're posting content, guys, when you're doing things
