Speaker 1 (00:01):
All right, peace and
greetings everybody.
This is a PSA for all our youngbrothers out here.
As the weather's starting tobreak and it's getting hotter
each day, we got to knock theseski masks off, y'all.
I mean, it's like almost 90degrees in some sections and as
(00:24):
I'm walking the neighborhood,I'm seeing seeing the young
brothers out here walking aroundwith the ski masks on and all
black and it's like hot.
You know, I mean, and uh, it'sreally not called for.
You know, um, let's, let's keepit, let's, let's keep it real.
When you're walking around, like the first thought in
(00:46):
anybody's mind is suspect, youknow what I mean.
You're not going to walk aroundin the streets, have this whole
attire on and not think there'ssomething wrong with this.
You know what I mean For thegeneral public, who may not know
.
If you're walking down thestreet, you see a bunch of kids,
and especially our youngbrothers, out here with these
ski masks on and dressed in allblack.
(01:09):
We don't know what theintentions are and if we feel
that way, we can only imaginewhat law enforcement feels.
So I just wanted to jump on andgive this little PSA.
Young brothers, please knockthis off.
Brothers, please knock this off.
Please knock this off, becauseyou don't want to end up getting
shot or arrested or somethingfor something that you feel is
(01:29):
innocent.
Growing up, we all had fashionand things that didn't make
sense to.
You know, our elders and youknow I always say when I reflect
on our generation or mygeneration, I should say is that
we had things that didn't makesense, but it was.
It was just things that youknew not to do.
You know what I mean.
(01:50):
And each one of these things,as it is today, is an individual
choice.
It's an individual choice, butit's just like when you're
looking out for the safety andwell-being of our young brothers
out here and we know, withthese, these masks and
everything like that, you knowthe narrative that's wrapped
around it.
(02:11):
When somebody who don't know you, you know, see you in these
things, you know you never wantto walk around looking like a
suspect but a prospect.
If I took them same youngbrothers right there and I tell
you you, you know we got anevent to go to, whether it be
church or a family thing orwhatever that requires you to
wear a suit, the first thingthat'll probably pop in their
(02:34):
head is I was too hot for thissuit.
You know it's like 90 degreesout here.
I don't want to wear theseshoes and these slacks and this
blazer or whatever the case is,and this tie, but putting this
on is all right and I think thatif you you got parents, that's
out here and the parents isletting them walk out here.
And don't get me wrong, I knowa lot of people.
(02:54):
A lot of people.
They send their kids out.
The kids get out there.
They're probably pulling thesemasks and things out their
pockets or whatever the case is.
Even if you just see your childwalking out in the street
dressed in all black and it'slike 90 degrees outside and they
got on black long sleevejackets and hoodies and covering
their face up and stuff, yougotta ask questions.
(03:15):
You gotta tell them knock thisoff, go, take that off before
somebody get the wrongimpression of you.
You know, I mean it's not worthit.
It's not worth going throughthe trouble and the turmoil of
the outcome of you just making adecision to dress like this.
So I just wanted to get on here, just just let that go and just
, you know, let people, letpeople.
(03:36):
You know, uh, hear that.
You know we got to knock thisoff with these masks and stuff,
especially our young brothersout here before these things
turn out the wrong way.
The weather is breaking and alot of young people coming out
of school and everything likethat, and if you're seeing all
of these guys running aroundhere dressed like this and
whatnot, this is not going to bea good outcome.
(03:57):
All right, y'all.
I just wanted to jump on thereand say that the Only One, mike
Podcast Peace.
