This episode investigates the shocking $260 million sexual harassment lawsuit against Tyler Perry, filed by "The Oval" actor Derek Dixon. He alleges unwanted advances, groping, and threats regarding his character, supported by contentious text messages. In a separate case, R. Kelly, serving a lengthy prison sentence, was hospitalized after an alleged overdose on prison medication. His legal team claims prison officials are conspiring to have him killed by another inmate, raising critical concerns about safety in the penal system. Additionally, Donald Trump's new venture, Trump Mobile, sparks debate over ethics and potential conflicts of interest. Is it appropriate for a presidential candidate or a sitting president to endorse commercial products? This $47 monthly service claims to support American manufacturing, yet appears to rely on questionable promises and poses significant regulatory issues.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey everybody, I'm back, carl Gerard, the only one
mic podcast.
I know I've been away for awhile and missed a lot of
stories, but you know life waslife.
But I'm back here now and I'mtelling you this is a wild one.
Did y'all know that Tyler Perrywas getting sued for sexual
harassment Allegedly sued sexualharassment allegedly and there

(00:30):
was also an alleged attempt on RKelly's life in prison?
And Trump is selling phones.
Hey everybody, hey, listen, youknow, like I said before, I
know I've been gone for a minute.
You know life takes its toll.
I'm going to tell you a funnystory before you know we get
started and all this.
I'm going to tell you a funnystory before we get started in
all this.
You know I'm home today and I'mtrying to get things together, I
guess, to do for the show andall.

(00:50):
And summertime well, not reallysummertime, because summertime
hasn't officially started butthe kids are out of school and
so you know kids are in theneighborhood, they're playing,
they do what kids do.
Get a knock on the door from aneighbor.
Hey man, you might want to comeout and check your car.
And you know I got a fairly newcar 2024,.

(01:10):
You know, nissan Jammie, andyou know, try to keep it
together and everything likethat.
But the long short of it is, Icome outside and my window was
busted out.
That's broad daylight, so it'snot like nobody took anything,
it's just the kids were outthere horsing around.
So I'm looking at the glass andI'm, you know, looking around.

(01:35):
So I just asked the kids acrossthe street.
I said, all right, who did it?
So you know, they said you know, we're sorry, it was an
accident and everything likethat.
So they said we're sorry, itwas an accident and everything
like that.
So at this point the one kid'smom comes out, the kid that
actually did it and I got totell you folks, the kid looked

(02:03):
like he was about maybekindergarten, first grade.
And so the mom comes out, she'sapologizing profusely and all,
and I'm like look.
I said come here, son.
You know I understand that youmade a mistake.
You know this kid is looking atme, he's about to cry and
everything, and I'm like Iunderstand you made a mistake,
son, but next time, you know, when you're out here playing and
tossing rocks and doing whatyou're doing, and I understand

(02:26):
that was an accident, right, youknow.
But I'm going to be patient.
Most people won't be patientabout this.
So long short of it is is that.
You know, I told the kid don'tworry about it, son, it's all
right.
You know, just watch yourselfnext time, be careful.
And you know, I told my mom Ihandled it.

(02:47):
It's no big deal, it is.
You know, I want to feel likepaying a deductible, but I'm not
going to beat her over the headwith it, you know.
And so as I'm out there cleaningup the glass and I'm, you know,
calling my insurance company orwhatnot, while I'm doing it, a
young man that was with him, older young man.
He comes to me and he says, sir, can I help you clean up this

(03:13):
mess?
And I felt some way about that.
Folks, I'm not going to lie toyou because I'm like this was
mighty decent of you.
You know what I mean andnormally, you know, kids do what
they do.
I know, as a kid you might dosomething stupid and you just
scatter away.
But the kid actually came over,he offered to help, he helped
me clean up the glass andeverything, and we were talking
and all.

(03:33):
And you know, nice young man, everything was yes, sir, you
know, no, sir, you know thingsof that nature, very respectable
young man.
And so I say I like to say thisis that sometimes the kids just
need some people to just bepatient with them and, you know,
just not fly off the handleabout certain things, and I
guess that's a thank God.

(03:53):
You know, praise the God onthis may be a sign of maturity
on my point, but of course I'mnot going to wild out on a
little kid from doing littlekids stuff, little kid from
doing little kid stuff.
So, um, if it was something inmalice then yeah, you might have
an argument.
If they were older might havean argument, but they're kids
and hopefully they learn fromthis experience.
All right, so now jumping intothese news stories here, ah, I

(04:17):
mean we.
It seems to be like a trendwith this um, sexual harassment
lawsuits and claims of, you know, being sexually assaulted by
these celebrities.
So we got another one that's inthe hat here.
Now they got Tyler Perry.
Okay, so Tyler Perry, as I saidearlier, was getting sued or is

(04:39):
in the process of getting suedby actor Derek Dixon, who's a
part of his shorty oval.
Now the lawsuit was filedagainst Tyler Perry in Los
Angeles Superior Court, gettingsued by actor Derek Dixon, who's
a part of his show, the Oval.
Now the lawsuit was filedagainst Tyler Perry in Los
Angeles Superior Court allegingrepeated sexual assault,
harassment and professionalretaliation during his time
working on Perry's BET series, the Oval.
The lawsuit seeks at least $260million in damages, claiming

(05:05):
Perry used his influence in theentertainment industry to
manipulate and exploit Dixonafter initially offering him
career opportunities.
So basically he was on acasting couch.
That's what it sounds like tome.
Dixon accuses Perry ofescalating sexual advances,
backed by screenshots of textmessages included in the lawsuit

(05:26):
.
One alleged threat involvedkilling off Dixon's character if
he didn't engage with Perry'ssexual innuendos.
Multiple allegations aredetailed in the lawsuit,
including groping.
The lawsuit including gropingunwanted physical advances both
on set and at Perry's home, andPerry allegedly apologizing

(05:50):
afterwards and made a careerrelated promise to keep Dixon
silent.
Now Perry's legal team isdenying all allegations, of
course, claiming them false andpart of an attempted scam, said
Dixon eventually relocated fromAtlanta to Los Angeles, filed an
EEOC complaint in 2024, andleft the show when no action was

(06:14):
taken.
I've seen some things on thestory today and one of them
alleged that he was in bed.
I don't know if he was in bedwith Tyler Perry, but he was
saying that he actually was inthe bed with him and Perry

(06:36):
allegedly started rubbing histhigh.
Why would you be a grown man inbed?
Well, let me backtrack that.
I'm sorry someone that that wasthe initial report that he was
in the bed, but let me just givesome clarity on what that
report was saying.
When he was saying he was inbed.
They're not saying he was inbed with tyler perry, because

(06:59):
this would be crazy.
If you were in bed with the man, then obviously you went there
for a reason, but they weresaying that he was staying in a
guest room in the house.
This is one of the stories thatI'm hearing out of you know
different sources.
He was in a guest room in thehouse and I guess you know tyler
came in allegedly on some uh,knock, knock, creep, creep stuff

(07:20):
and started getting in bed withhim and rubbing his thighs.
Contrary to belief, folks, there's a right way to do wrong
and, um, this is wrong.
This is wrong.
This is disgustingly wrong.
Um, you see what's going onwith, with, with, puff, um, and

(07:42):
let's not also forget too, actorjared leto is also being
accused of sexual assault andleto, who uh starred in such
movies as, uh, morbius and uh, Ithink he was on like the matrix
or something, a blade runner, something like that.
The guy's been in a few movies, okay, uh, he's an upcoming

(08:06):
masters of the universe for allus 80s babies.
He-man, um, playing skeletor.
Now I was looking at, you know, just a slide.
Try looking at that article, thinking of myself.
Well, you know, do you fire himbecause you know it was
multiple sexual assault?
Anytime something like thiscomes up?
I always think you didn't giveJonathan Majors like one day in

(08:30):
court before Disney fired him.
So, and you know, darnan ruineda man's career.
But yeah, he's also up for asexual assault allegation.
All alleged until proven.
But back to Tyler Perry.
Folks, I tell you what and I gotto pause when I say this

(08:52):
because I collect my thoughts onit Um, I don't want to, I guess

(09:25):
, say that he can make theseallegations against you.
You know, I mean like if thisit seems weird.
It's just that if, even if itwas a female who just like I
give you a good example, thesituation with Jay-Z and the
young lady says oh well, youknow, I was sexually assaulted
by Jay-Z, if Jay-Z has never metthis woman, took a picture with

(09:50):
her, went to a hotel room withher, spent time in a car with
her.
I don't care if you walk fromone end of the corner to the
other with this person.
If you had no interaction withthis person, how could this
story even be?
And so when I looked at thisparticular situation with tyler
perry and I'm like, well, Idon't know if you had the man in
your house, I don't know.

(10:11):
Well, none of us know.
I mean, it's all alleged, butif you're not in that situation,
how can someone actually go toa courtroom and file a complaint
with a straight face sayingthat this person is doing this,
this and the other?
And if you have text messagesand stuff, release the messages.
You know, and I'm not a tylerperry apologist at all, you know

(10:32):
, I personally I'm not a fan ofhis movies.
At least you know none of theselatest offerings and none of
this stuff that he he's done.
Um, respect the business sensein terms of making hollywood
within hollywood, but I think alot of his stuff is repetitive
and you know, just out and out,you know, exploitive at this

(10:53):
point.
Um, so no, I'm not a pilot, I'mnot a toilet perry apologist,
nor my victim shamer in this one.
If this is the case but I meantime will tell I.
Just what do you think about it, folks?
What do you think?
I mean, if he wasn't in thatsituation, could this lawsuit be
filed?
Am I going to come out and justsay the man is you know?

(11:13):
I mean, he made money in dragpretty much, um for a very time.
So I'm going to just rest mycase right there.
But in this particular case, wedon't know if this man actually
had any dealings with TylerPerry outside of the work

(11:37):
situation.
We don't know, but Tom willtell.
But what do you think, folks?
Please let me know in thecomments.
Do you think that this issomething that you could see
tyler doing, or is thissomething that you think is just
another one of those things?
All right, so moving on, guys.
R kelly r kelly, who iscurrently serving uh tom right,

(12:00):
said that he was hospitalized asa result of an overdose.
Now, r Kelly was hospitalizedon June 13th after allegedly
allegedly overdosing onmedication provided by prison
staff, allegedly while insolitary confinement at FCI
Bunter in North Carolina.

(12:22):
His legal team claims thedosage exceeded his normal
prescriptions.
According to his lawyers, kellycollapsed in his cell.
After experiencing dizzinessand vision issues, he was taken
to Duke University Hospital, butwas removed against medical
advice before receivingscheduled surgery for blood
clots.
The legal team also alleges amurder plot by three prison

(12:47):
officials, allegedly suggestingthey plan to have him killed by
another inmate.
This claim was part of anemergency motion filed days
earlier.
His attorney, bo Brindley, hasrenewed a plea to President
Trump Donald Trump for a pardon, stating that Kelly's life is an
intimate danger and that onlypresidential intervention might

(13:09):
save him.
In response, federalprosecutors dismissed the claim
as fanciful and theatrical, criticizing the legal motions as
procedurally flawed andcharacterized Kelly as a master
manipulator.
Kelly is 58 years old folks andhe is serving a 30-year

(13:31):
sentence for racketeering andsex trafficking, along with
another 20-year sentence forchild pornography and enticement
.
He was convicted in both NewYork and Chicago, with part of
the latter sentence to be servedconsecutively.
So so much to unpack on that one.

(13:52):
You know, pardon me, Do youthink that R Kelly was actually
set up to be murdered and, if so, by whom and what?
For you know, does R Kelly shedsome light?

(14:12):
Especially and I hate to play, you know, connect the universe
on here, but then you look atthe whole situation with Puff
and they said with Puff's casethere was a few, not a few, but
there was another famous rapperwho was throwing these freak
offs and things in which theywithheld that rapper's name or

(14:36):
they redacted it off the courtdocument.
And it makes you wonder ifthere's a coalition here,
because I've always said thatwhen R Kelly initially got
locked up, that he was not theonly person.
This is prior to the, the wholething with puff and everything
like that coming out.
We've said on this show me, and, and and Brooklyn, dre, and and

(14:58):
J Rob, and and and Josh.
We've said on the show beforethat he's not the only person
that's doing this stuff.
When Kel got locked up for whathe got locked up for, I've said,
you know, if I can quote myself, that there's no way in the
world that he had all of thisgoing on.
And then you did so much workwith other artists and any,

(15:22):
whether it be music or whateverhe was doing it with, or people
that you know that had no ideathat this was going on the whole
time.
So, like I said, he's sentencedfor racketeering and
trafficking and you know, no,he's not the only one that is
Fast forward.
Now you have Puff in jail.

(15:43):
Fast forward.
Now you have puff in jail.
I mean, you know, in jail andon trial right now, she said,
for almost the same thing, except I think the difference
with puff situation is that youreally don't have anything
criminal on him as of yet.
His only crime is being a freak, and you know when they're

(16:03):
talking about sex trafficking,as well as the, I think they
have them for racketeering andthe Rico thing, which he's the
only one on trial.
So I don't know how that's aRico case.
But you know, I always said ifthese guys just name names, then
maybe they you know, basicallysnitching a few name names on

(16:23):
anybody else that was involvedin all of this foolishness that
maybe they would have showedthem some type of leniency or
whatever.
Um, or maybe you use it, as youknow, get out of jail, I don't
know, get out of jail free cardor whatever.
But if he's saying that peopleare trying to kill him and he's
overdosing, allegedly by way ofthe prison staff there, then

(16:45):
maybe he knows something thateverybody don't know it's not
privy to yet.
Even with going back to thepuff thing, I thought it was
kind of weird that even likeKanye, showed up, sat there for
like 10 minutes and left.
You know, would you look andsee if your name come up in any
of this stuff?
I mean, we don't know, we don'tknow.
Everything is alleged andspeculation at this point, but I
find this one kind of strange.

(17:06):
And also, guys, you know, let'sjust say, and god forbid, I
don't, I don't want to, uh, putdeath on anybody, god forbid.
But um, we all know that theserecord companies, right, anybody

(17:26):
that owns the masters to thismusic make more money off these
guys when they're dead.
Please see Tupac, you know big.
You make more money off theseguys when they're dead.
You know what I mean.
The catalog jumps up R Kellyright now.
Robert Kelly, 58 years old, who's serving a 30 sentence for
racketeering and sex traffickingand 20 years for child

(17:50):
pornography and enticement.
If R Kelly was to pass away inprison right now, I guarantee
you his music will skyrocket.
Despite everything I just readto you right there, the music
with the music was skyrocket.
Despite everything I just readto you right there, the music
was skyrocket.
You know this and I know thatthat he would probably get more

(18:11):
streams dead than he does inprison right now, alive.
So I don't know Sometimes.
Just my conspiracy theory headthinking right now is that you
don't know if these racketcompanies put something out on
them, who knows's time to getsome money back.
This guy's been locked up for avery long time and we can't
really move that catalog.
So I don't know.
I don't know, I mean, but I'mpretty sure more will come out

(18:36):
on this um and they're departing.
You know they're asking trumpfor the pardon.
You figure.
Trump is pretty much pardoningevery other criminal.
He's letting drug dealers looseand all.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Maybe he will do it.
I think Trump has said somethingin a statement once that he

(18:57):
would pardon Puff if he wasconvicted.
But I don't know, because Trumpwould do anything just to stay
in the.
If you can do that nowadays, because if you see all the
foolishness that's going on withthis guy and the graces of the
African-American community whichis my personal opinion on you

(19:17):
know why you're freeing all ofthese.
You know big-time drug dealersand stuff that, to be honest
with you folks, we can celebratethem all you want, but at the
end of the day they broughtdeath to your community, um, and
I'm not saying that no man orwoman is above being changed in
their thoughts or you knowmotivations for things.
So I'm not saying that youcan't change, you can change

(19:43):
know.
I mean they bring death to thecommunity.
Speaking of Trump folks, areyou ready for this?
So Trump has now just announcedthat he will be launching a new

(20:07):
mobile phone and cellularservice called Trump Mobile.
Now, the company claims thephones will be designed and
manufactured in the UnitedStates and according to the New
York Times, they say this isunclear how this will be
achieved, given a lack ofinfrastructure for smartphone
production in the US.
The plan includes a $47 monthlyservice that purportedly offers

(20:31):
24-7 telemedicine, but thedetails of that you know
offering are a little murky.
The Trump family's involvementin the venture raises potential
conflicts of interest, as theindustry is regulated by the
Trump administration.
The announcement coincides withthe 10 year anniversary of
Donald Trump's firstpresidential campaign

(20:53):
announcement, suggestingpolitical motivations behind the
launch.
Now please correct me, folks, ifI am wrong.
Have we ever seen a sittingpresident hawking products while
they were still in office?
Now, some of you might say, hey, man, you know Obama had a
phone, but the thing about theObama phone was that that was

(21:16):
the nickname for the Lifelineprogram and that provided
discount phones and internetservice to low-income
individuals.
So that wasn't actually himsaying I'm starting Obama Mobile
.
That was just something theytacked on.
You know his name on forservice.
But Trump, you know, since thelast you know time he was in

(21:38):
office up until Trump, has beenselling everything from sneakers
to stamps.
I think they even got likeTrump guns it like crazy, you
know, I mean I've, but the manis a hustler at heart and that's
.
I guess what it is with him isthat you know, he's, you know,
just putting his name andeverything to something that
will make money.
I mean because made no mistakeabout it when these guys are in

(22:02):
office, before Elon Musk evensplit when I was basically a
money move because he was losingtoo much money with trump.
Um, the thing is that theseguys, everybody in our
administration, is setting uptheir generational wealth and
all of that you know I mean.
So I think that this is crazy, that he's, you know, continuing

(22:23):
to hawk these products thatnobody wants.
Nobody wants a Trump phone, nobody wanted Trump sneakers.
I mean, I guess you have somepeople that was collectors that
brought those sneakers, butnobody want Trump sneakers and
things of that nature, but Ithink they have like
commemorative plates and alltype of foolishness, so yeah, so

(22:43):
I mean, what do you guys thinkabout it?
I mean, Trump phones is $47 amonth, you know, a steal for you
guys.
I mean, do you think?
I know?
You know, my phone bill is kindof high a month, but I ain't
selling out, I'd rather just goahead and pay the money.
But $47 a month for 24-7telemedicine and all that, you

(23:08):
know, it seems like they kind ofbuilding this plane while they
flying it and it just soundsgood.
But you know, it sounds good tosome people I should say, but
nah, I think, I think I'm gonnahave to say the name no on that
one.
Ladies and gentlemen, I mean, this is, this is stupid.
And also the thing that, like, like the article was saying was
that, um, if they actually have,if they push this through right

(23:32):
, you have trump mobile.
Now, what does that say aboutthe t mobiles and um?
Help me out folks.
What's the one that, uh, ryanreynolds do meant mobile?
Um, you know, what does it sayabout all the other mobile
companies?
Like, is it a way that he canpossibly knock them off and kind
of just take over the wholemobile industry.
I mean, I don't know, I'm justthinking, I'm just thinking long

(23:54):
range folks, alternative, uh,future, I don't know.
But anyway, guys, thank you, thank you, thank you.
