Opera - We love singing

Opera - We love singing

Music, and more particularly singing is always with us. A certain day we may find ourselves moody and with a melody from La forza del destino playing over and over again in our head. Or maybe we feel like a superhero as we've doing great at work and then we feel like Calaf solving the 3 riddles that Turandot has proposed. First, we would like to share that this is not a place for the platitudes that are everywhere, telling my favorite singer is always the greatest in everything he's sung; and at the same time, we avoid being one of those toxic places where there's endless criticism around the minimum error of a given singer. We need more places where we can be respectful and still express our differences, as art is perception and no one perceives art equally to one another. Our second proposal is to come and share, both Katia and I are pretty sure there are a million questions you have always asked yourself about singing and as singers are sometimes not the most approachable people, well we hope can answers some of those questions!! In this season we are reviewing the most popular arias of all times. Who doesn't know this aria from Tosca by Maestro Puccini?

This aria is not so easy to tag, is is beautiful? impressive? distressing? maybe all of them and none at the same time. Here we understand Scarpia's dark motivation.

In this season we talk about the author, and we analyze the aria from a technical vocal point of view as well as the int...

So in January we managed to get together and prepare a small concert for you all, we celebrated the 2 years of our podcast.

Many things went horribly wrong, to start with the pianist not being able to attend for a last minute injury and some other technical problems.

A song that we could not really nail back then is the song Volvere from Mexican composer María Grever. This extraordinary piece of music deserves some tim...

*NOTICE OCCASIONAL CONSTRUCTION NOISE PROBLEMS*

This time things did not play in our favor but still we did this episode with the same enthusiasm of always. From construction problems that could not be eliminated to several audio/disconnections on Raffa's parties. We beg your understanding.

Just read or listen to the news or check "X" (formerly Twitter) to find the many of these "world leaders" looking for reasons to send their people to die for a war. Luciano Pavarotti in collaboration with other artists gave visibility to the horrible situation happening in Bosnia in the 90s of the past century. More than 30 years later, this song and the voice of Pavarotti can witness that nothing ...
