Music, and more particularly singing is always with us. A certain day we may find ourselves moody and with a melody from La forza del destino playing over and over again in our head. Or maybe we feel like a superhero as we've doing great at work and then we feel like Calaf solving the 3 riddles that Turandot has proposed. First, we would like to share that this is not a place for the platitudes that are everywhere, telling my favorite singer is always the greatest in everything he's sung; and at the same time, we avoid being one of those toxic places where there's endless criticism around the minimum error of a given singer. We need more places where we can be respectful and still express our differences, as art is perception and no one perceives art equally to one another. Our second proposal is to come and share, both Katia and I are pretty sure there are a million questions you have always asked yourself about singing and as singers are sometimes not the most approachable people, well we hope can answers some of those questions!! What a better way to express our emotions than music? This season is a tour around a number of very well-known popular songs, so popular that many Opera singers have made them part of their repertoire. How well do they achieve it? Thumbs-up or down?
For this season we are having Raffa co-hosting these episodes. He has an immense passion for music and is also an experienced musician
Motivated by a very disappointing Werther that I attended recently, I thought that this would make for a good episode to go over the whole character, because many usually portray him with a very shallow analysis.

This season is all about what impresses the public: high notes (sometimes super high notes), and ornaments. For a number of episodes we will be addressing the roles that more than once have left us wondering: How can the human voice do that? Premiering on Youtube and later audio dissemination to all streaming platforms.

Should it ever be the case that I find myself on a desert island, what music would I take there to spend the countless night and days?
I'm sure this season will bring plenty of surprises for you.
Enjoy!

We are going back to La Forza, this Opera said to have a malediction on it. A true masterpiece for the baritone and tenor. And a world full hate and dispair, all to remind us that it is not us who decide our future. We are in the hands of destiny.
