j - Jesus M. Ruiz (00:03):
The vision
received was that of blood cells
traveling throughout the body, supplying the much-needed oxygen
and other nutrients to thediffering members of the body to
fulfill their purpose.
Once the blood cells are spent, they must return back to the
heart to be refilled beforebeing sent out again and fulfill
their purpose and fulfill theirpurpose.
(00:27):
In Matthew 21, Jesus it's thelast seven days and Jesus comes
in to Jerusalem.
He comes in riding on an ass,on the foal of an ass, on a
donkey, coming before the people, and they begin to throw
branches and throw their clothesand began to sing Hosanna to
(00:49):
the son of david blessed is hethat cometh in the name of the
Lord Hosanna in the highest.
And they are just welcomingthis man that they believe to be
a great prophet of God.
But it says also in Matthew 21,verse 5, that this was
fulfilling the scripture spokenof by the prophet.
And the prophet said tell yethe daughter of Sinai behold thy
(01:12):
king cometh unto thee, meek andsitting upon an ass, in the
colt, in the fold of an ass.
So all these garments and allthese branches of the trees are
sprawled before him and he comeson the praises of his people
and he is proclaimed as a king.
Yet it says in verse 11, themultitude see Jesus as a prophet
(01:37):
.
They don't realize who hereally is.
They see him as Jesus.
He's the prophet of Nazareth,of Galilee, and that's what it
basically says.
And so when he comes intoJerusalem, he comes in with all
this fanfare of the people andobviously the Pharisees and the
Christians are not happy.
But he comes to the temple andin the temple he gets angry,
(02:00):
with a righteous indignation.
He begins to cleanse the wholetemple.
He begins, he takes all themoney changers and he throws it
all over the place and he saidit is written my house shall be
called the house of prayer, butyou have made it a den of
thieves.
It says in verse 13.
And then, after he does that,he goes and heals a blind man
(02:22):
and a lame man that came intothe temple and when the chief
priest and the scribe saw all ofthe wonderful things that he
did regarding these miracles, how the children were crying in
the temple saying Hosanna to theson of David, they were not
happy.
Jesus said to them have youever read out of the mouths of
(02:47):
babes and sucklings about hisperfected praise?
And they were really unhappywith him because he began to use
the scriptures against theirselfish ideas, against their
wrong thinking.
And he left.
It says he went out of the cityinto Bethany and that's where
(03:09):
he stayed verse 17.
And this is where we're goingto do, maybe, some reading.
But the next morning he returnsback to the city and he's hungry
and he comes along a fig treeand this whole beginning
scenario of what takes placeafterward is almost very
(03:30):
prophetic of what he's about todeal with.
When he gets back into the cityand deals with the Pharisees
and the Sadducees and theleaders of his people, He sees a
fig tree and He's hungry and Hewants to eat something.
But there's nothing there.
There's only leaves and that'snot quite useful for what His
(03:51):
needs are right now.
And He sees that they have nofruit.
That's what He was looking for.
He doesn't eat leaves.
He eats fruit.
He was looking for fruit.
He was fruit picking and therewere no fruits on this fig tree.
So He says let no fruit grow onme henceforth, now and
forevermore.
Curses him Because it's notproducing fruit.
(04:13):
He's like a farmer that isseeking out fruit.
He's planted all over the worldand he comes wanting fruit and
then he begins to talk to thedisciples about, you know, if he
has faith and doubt not.
That.
That's not what I'm trying tofocus on.
(04:35):
So I'm going to skip thatsection.
Not that it's not important.
I mean we can do a whole lessonon just those two verses in Red
and 21 and 22.
But I want to get to whathappens.
When he gets there.
He comes into the temple inverse 23.
The chief priests and theelders of the people, they come
into him as he was teaching andthey said what authority do you
(04:58):
do these things?
Who gave you this authority tocome in here and teach, to come
in here and heal the lame manand the blind man?
Who gave you the authority toransack the whole temple of the
money changers and be allindignant about what they're
doing?
Who gave you the authority thatall of everyone is singing
(05:18):
Hosanna to you, the son of David, and treating you like a king?
Who are you?
Who gave you this authority?
So Jesus answers that and hesays let me ask you one thing,
and if you tell me the answer tomy question, I will tell you by
(05:38):
what authority I do thesethings.
I'm paraphrasing now, becauseit's in there, okay, you can
read it yourself the baptism ofJohn.
Where did it come from?
Did it come from heaven or didit come from?
Man.
That's an interesting question.
Why in the world is he doingall of these things?
(06:00):
The Pharisees challenge him andhe comes back and says John
baptism.
Why did he do that?
But let me go back in reverse, because there was time before.
Remember, this is the lastseven days of his life and there
was a time before that.
I'm going to have you go to.
Luke 7.
Luke 7, obviously you knowthere are four Gospels and they
(06:24):
all tell about the life of Jesusin different times and most of
them are pretty sequential, butLuke 7 is before this event in
Matthew 21.
I want to highlight this to youbecause it's going to give you
an understanding of why Jesusbrought about John the Baptist.
When asked this question, Forsome reason he goes to John and
(06:45):
he's dealing with somethingabout the Pharisees and the
lawyers and the Sadducees andthe leaders of this people.
So it says in Luke 7, 28, 28,.
It says For I say unto you,Jesus, that among those that are
(07:09):
born of women, there is not agreater prophet than John the
Baptist, but he that is reachedin the kingdom of God is greater
than he and all the people thatheard him and the publicans,
that mean the common people.
They justified God.
How so?
How did they justify God?
Well, it says being baptizedwith the baptism of John.
(07:31):
They heard John's message.
His message was the message ofbaptism and repentance so that
your sins would be forgiven.
And he says that they justifiedGod because they heard his word
and obeyed it.
So they gave God glory by doingso.
But it says in the very nextverse that the Pharisees and the
(07:54):
lawyers the leaders ofGod's people.
They rejected the counsel ofGod.
How so?
Because they were not baptizedin John.
There's a couple things thatare said here.
In other words, john theBaptist's message of repentance
and being baptized for theforgiveness of your sins was not
man's message, it was God'smessage.
(08:16):
For the scriptures declare thatthey did not reject John the
Baptist's message.
It's that they rejected thecounsel of God.
And does he not say that ifthey reject you, they've not
rejected you, they've rejectedme.
Because these people are sentof God giving God's message.
(08:36):
They are ambassadors of Christ, giving Christ's message to the
people, not their own message.
So it says very clearly andexplicitly they rejected the
counsel of God.
How do you know that?
Because they never got baptizedwith John.
So now fast forward back towhere we were.
At Last, seven days, thePharisees are contesting him and
(08:56):
all of a sudden, out of nowherebecause John the Baptist was
not being spoken of, he bringsup John the Baptist and so they
start reasoning in themselvesand they start saying well, if
we say it was from heaven, he'sgoing to tell us why didn't you
believe?
Now see, what is belief tied to?
(09:16):
If you go back to that Luke 7,if you go back to that and see
both of them at the same time.
Believing is connected to youdidn't obey.
It's not just a mental.
I agree with what you're saying, it's I do what.
I agree with what you're saying.
Okay.
So when you put those twotogether, even though one says
(09:38):
believe and the other says yourejected the counsel of God
because you did not get baptized, there was an action that
needed to coincide with thatbelief.
And they know that.
The Pharisees know that, because they're saying within
themselves if you say it's fromheaven, they're going to say why
didn't you believe John?
Then, if it was the counselfrom God?
(09:59):
But then they think about well, gosh, if we say it was from men
, well, all the people.
There's the fear of the people, all the people hold him as a
prophet at the most high, and Idon't know what to say.
And they answer Jesus said well, we don't know, not sure, not
(10:21):
really sure, Jesus, I reallycan't answer now.
Jesus said well, then I'm notgoing to answer your question
Because you're lying to me andyou're lying to yourself.
And if you're going to live alie, then why should I give you
revelation?
Why should I tell you aboutwhat authority I do these things
.
And then he brings up a parableImmediately thereafter.
(10:43):
Jesus says let me tell you astory about a man who had two
sons.
He came to the first one.
He said son, go work at myvineyard today.
So already we're being toldabout a man who has two sons,
that he owns a vineyard.
Think about that.
(11:04):
What's a vineyard?
Maybe it's strawberry trees, maybe it's orange trees, maybe
it's grape vines and all there'sa vineyard, okay.
And in a vineyard you havethings that are growing that
produce what Fruit?
Think about that, because wetalked about Jesus looking for
fruit and not finding it andcursing the tree and not
(11:25):
producing fruit.
So he starts with a story.
He says a man came to his sonand says go work in my vineyard.
And that son says no, I won't.
But then afterward he changeshis mind and he goes into work
in the vineyard.
But initially he said to hisfather no, no, no, no.
And then he came to the secondson and he said the same thing
Go workson's Vineyard.
But initially he said to hisfather no, no, no, no.
(11:45):
And then he came to the secondson and he said the same thing
gold, work in my vineyard.
And the answer said okay, I'llgo.
I'll go, sir.
But then he didn't go, and sohe asked them a question.
He says which of those two didthe will of the Father?
(12:06):
Think about it.
What's Jesus' emphasis rightnow?
What is he so preoccupied about?
Who did the will of the Father?
And they say to him Well, thefirst Jesus, the first son, who
said no, but he went.
It's him, he's the one that didthe will of the Father.
(12:27):
And there is a fact about it.
And so Jesus says Verily, I sayunto you, the publican and the
heartless, go into the kingdomof God before you, whoa.
Why did he say that?
Why did he say that?
He said for John came unto youin the way of righteousness and
ye believed him not, but thepublicans and the harlots
(12:54):
believed him.
How do we know that?
We go back to Luke 7.
They justified God in that theydid what John the Baptist said,
that they got baptized.
But these, you, you leaders, you didn't.
And so I gave you a story and Iasked you to judge who did the
will of God.
And you said, rightly so thefirst son.
(13:18):
Even though he rejected thecounsel at first.
he then did it.
You said he did the will of God.
Well, now you will be judged bythat same measure of judgment,
because you reject the counselof God.
John came with the way ofrighteousness and you did not
believe him.
And ye, when ye had seen it,you didn't repent afterward that
(13:44):
ye might believe him.
In other words, you heard theword, you said yes, but then you
didn't do it.
You didn't do the will of theFather.
So, who was like the first son?
The publican and the harlots, because they lived a life of sin
, everybody felt that they liveda oh God, we're rejected, but
(14:06):
they repented and they did thewill of the Father.
Whereas you have those thatthink they're all that and then
some and that much more thelawyers and the Pharisees and
the Sadducees.
Well, they heard it.
Yes, yes, but no, I'm not going.
I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to get into water.
I'm not going to get baptizedfor the remission of sin.
(14:27):
Otherwise I'm going to think I'mnow lowly like the publicans in
the harlots.
No, I'm not going to do that.
And so their judgment condemnedthemselves.
So he goes and says listen, I'mgoing to tell you another story.
He says here are anotherparable there was a certain
householder which planted avineyard Think about that, a
(14:53):
vineyard, again, something aboutfruits, okay.
So and he hedged it round aboutand he did the wine press so he
gave it some protection, he didthe wine press in there so that
it would have some drink.
And then he built a tower, atower of refuge, a tower of
protection.
And then he said, and he led itout to the husband, men, and
(15:15):
went into a far country.
He led it he's taking care ofit by some people while he went
out and did something.
So this is the new story and itsays, when the time of the
fruit drew near going back tonow fruit issue, he's looking
for fruit he sent his servantsto the husband then that they
(15:39):
might receive the fruit of it.
He's telling you the purpose.
He sent his servants becausethey want to get the fruit, get
the fruit.
Where's the fruit?
Telling you the purpose he senthis servants because they want
to get the fruit.
Get the fruit.
Where is the fruit?
And the husband took hisservants, the people that were
left behind, to take care of.
They took his servants who werecoming to get the fruit and
they beat them, they killed themand they stole them.
And again he sent otherservants, more than the first,
(16:04):
and they did unto them likewise.
But last of all.
He sent him, his son, sayingthey will reverence my son.
But when the husbandme n sawthe son, they said among
themselves this is the heir, come, let us kill, kill him and
(16:25):
let us see on his inheritance.
Let's stop there, because ifyou know anything about the
Bible, you know that God sentpeople to his people, prophets.
Again and again and again.
We've talked about Elijah,we've read from Isaiah and
Jeremiah and Hosea and David, and he sent prophets and
(16:48):
prophets and prophets.
To get what?
To get what?
Repent, repent, change, repentthe same message that John the
Baptist came with.
John the Baptist was one of theservants that are spoken of in
this story, this parable, butlisten to the thought when they
(17:13):
saw the son, he's the heir, letus kill him, let us feed on his
inheritance.
And you might naturally thinkthose are the Pharisees, those
are the thoughts of theSadducees and the leaders.
And I say consider, these arethe thoughts of the demons and
(17:34):
the devils when they saw him.
Because what had the enemy, allof those years in the old
covenant, been trying to do?
Cut the line of the promisedland, kill all the children, cut
the line of the kings thatwe've spoken, the kings of Judah
(17:57):
.
That line was unbroken and theytried desperately to cut off
the line to where there was forsix years.
There was a queen in Judah.
She tried to kill all of thechildren but saved one.
She couldn't get that one.
So the line remained unbroken.
They have been trying years andyears and years to cut off that
(18:19):
line.
And here they are.
They see the sign and they saylet's kill them, because if we
can kill them we can get theinheritance, we can get heaven
itself by taking out the sun.
So they caught the sun, theypassed him out of the vineyard
and they slew him.
And when the lord thereof ofthe vineyard come at, what will
(18:40):
he do?
Oh, oh, he's asking him aquestion again.
I'm giving you a story.
Judge ye yourselves, what doyou think the Lord is going to
do when he comes back to hisvineyard?
So he asked them the questionand they say unto him Well, he's
(19:01):
going to come back, he's goingto destroy the wicked man.
And he's going to let out thevineyard to other people and
that shall render him the fruitsof their season.
They just condemned themselvesagain.
If that is your judgment, thenso be it.
When the son has been killed byyou, when he comes again, he's
(19:25):
going to give this vineyard toother people.
If you know enough of thescriptures, you realize he's
talking about the Gentiles.
He's promising that we're goingto open this thing up.
It's not just for you.
You have rejected the counselof God.
I'm opening up the kingdom ofGod to everyone in the world.
So, by their own words, bytheir own judgment, they
(19:54):
condemned themselves, like theydid in verse 31.
So Jesus says unto them Didn'tyou ever read the scriptures?
The stone which the buildersrejected, the son which was
rejected by the husband men, thesame has become the head of the
corner.
This is the Lord's doing andit's marvelous in our eyes.
The kingdom of God shall betaken from you.
(20:14):
Explicitly the kingdom of.
And who is he talking to?
He's not talking to all theJews, he's talking to the
leaders, the prophets Excuse me,not the prophets, the shepherds
, the Pharisees, the Saddu, theleaders, the prophets.
Excuse me, not the prophets, the shepherds, the Pharisees,
the Sadducees, the lawyers.
I'm going to take the kingdomof God from you.
I have given it to you allthese years to take care of my
vineyard and I've sent prophets, prophets, prophets, to get the
(20:37):
fruit.
And you killed them and killedthem.
And now you take the son.
I'm taking it from you andgiving it to others.
And when the chief priests andthe Pharisees heard this parable
, they perceived that he's fakeof them.
They got it, they understoodwhat he was saying and they
(20:58):
sought to lay hands on him.
They feared the multitudebecause they took him for a
prophet.
So I think he's one moreparable.
There was that householderhopefully you see it now is the
(21:22):
father leaving behind hisvineyard to the leaders and
wanting to send prophet afterprophet, servant after servant,
to come get fruit.
And that fruit is the fruit of,not the spirit.
It's the fruit of repentance.
That is the fruit that hedesires.
It says when he comes back willhe find faith in the earth.
(21:48):
Biblical faith is tiedintimately to repentance.
As a matter of fact, in Hebrewsit starts talking about the
principles of the doctrine ofChrist and before it says faith
toward God, it said repentancefrom dead works.
It's repentance that is the keyto the deliverance of people.
(22:10):
You must change.
He says in the Old Testament,in the beginning of the chapter
circumcise yourself, circumciseyourselves, circumcise the
foreskin of your heart.
And then at the end of thechapter he says I will
circumcise, but he called you tocircumcise yourself first.
He's looking for the fruit ofrepentance so that he can begin
(22:31):
a good work in you and bring itto completion in the day of
Christ Jesus.
So we come to Matthew 22,.
And it gives another parable.
Jesus answered them.
O spake unto them.
The kingdom of heaven gave lifeunto a certain king which made
a marriage for his son and sentforth his servants to call them
(22:57):
that were bidden to the weddingand would not come.
And again he sent forth otherservants saying tell them which
were bidden.
Behold, I have prepared mydinner.
My oxen, my fat things arekilled and all things are ready.
Come unto the marriage.
But they made light of it andwent their ways, one to his farm
(23:20):
, another to his merchandise.
These parables are speaking ofthe same people giving the same
message, one after another thefather with two sons, the
householder with a vineyard, andnow a king who's preparing a
marriage feast for his sons.
They made light of it.
(23:40):
They went their own ways andthey were busy with their own
merchandise.
And the remnant took hisservants.
The people took his servantsand entreated them spitefully
and sued them.
It's the same parable, it's thesame message.
And when the king heard it, hewas angry and he was wroth and
(24:03):
he sent forth armies and hedestroyed those murderers and
burned up their city.
And if you know anything aboutthe history of the Jews, that's
exactly what happened in thefirst century.
I'm not talking about theChristians, I'm talking about
the Jewish leaders I'm talkingabout.
They sent armies and theyburned Jerusalem and the temple
(24:24):
down.
They destroyed it in 70 AD.
He was speaking propheticallyof what was going to happen to
them.
I'm taking this kingdom awayfrom you.
I'm giving it to others to takecare of.
To them.
I'm taking this kingdom awayfrom you, I'm giving it to
others to take care of.
Then saith he to his servantsthe wedding is ready, that
(24:47):
already happened.
But they which were bidden, were not worthy.
There were people that are goingto be invited to this wedding
and some of them are not worthy.
That's the new covenant.
Now he's bidding people come tothe wedding, but they're not
worthy.
Go, therefore, into thehighways and, as many as ye
(25:09):
shall find, bid them to themarriage.
Tell everyone.
Preach the gospel to somenations, all nations.
Tell everyone of.
Preach the gospel to somenations, all nations.
Tell everyone of this marriage.
Tell everyone to come to themarriage supper of the Lamb.
And so those servants went outinto the highways and they
gathered together all as many asthey could find, both bad and
(25:31):
good, and the wedding wasfurnished with guests.
And when the king came in tosee the guests, he saw there a
man which had not on a weddinggarment.
Now you guys know, when you goto marriage you get dressed up.
You don't go like rags.
(25:51):
It's not your wedding.
It might not even be yourbrother's, it may be a distant
friend, but's not your wedding.
It might not even be yourrelative, it may be a distant
friend, but you go dressed up.
But this man went to themarriage supper of the king and
he came in rags.
He came in undressed, withoutthe proper garments, and he said
to him friends, how can you nothave a wedding garment?
(26:15):
You need a wedding garment toattend a wedding, not your own,
you need a wedding garment.
And he was speechless.
He didn't know what to say.
Then said the king to theservant bond him hand and foot,
take him away and cast him intothe outer darkness.
There shall be weeping andgnashing of teeth.
Now we know enough of thescriptures to know who was
(26:39):
thrown into the outer darkness, who was thrown into the lake of
fire, the wicked.
And if you go back toRevelation 20, where you see the
great white throne, judgment, and you see all the nations
before him, and he separates thesheep from the goats and he
says you, I did this in yourname, I did that in your name,
lord, depart from me.
I never knew you.
(27:00):
Same parable, it's the samemessage that you can't come to
the wedding garment with yourown garments.
You have to have the propergarments.
Now you go to Revelation, yourealize that they were all
dressed in white and that wasnot their garments, it was His
(27:23):
garments, given to them.
Garments of righteousness, garments of holiness, and they
are not righteous.
They know that.
So they take on therighteousness of their Father.
They take that.
So they take on therighteousness of their father,
they take on his holiness, theybecome partakers of the divine
nature, it says in thescriptures.
(27:45):
So they clothe themselves withhis garments and so they are
allowed to the wedding.
Because, it says in verse 8,they which were bidden were not
worthy.
Them not worthy.
But if they clothe themselvesin my righteousness, they allow
it to the near supper of life.
(28:05):
For many are called, but foryou are chosen.
He ends this parable with inRevelation 3.18, his word is
found, so that you havesomething to look at and confirm
this.
Be Bereans.
Look at the things that aresaid.
See if the scriptures doplainly declare what has been
(28:28):
shared today.
It says in Revelation 3.18, toone of the churches and I'll
tell you specifically, it wasthe lukewarm church of Laodicea
he says I counsel thee to buy ofme gold tried in the fire that
thou mayest be rich, and whiteraiment that thou mayest be
(28:49):
clothed, that the shame of thynakedness does not appear.
The shame of your sin will notappear if you clothe yourself in
my garments of righteousness.
For I have imputed myrighteousness to my people, who
walk by faith and not by sight, who put their trust in me, the
(29:12):
living God, like I did withAbraham, like I did with all the
saints of old.
I imputed with themrighteousness because they put
their trust in me.
And the same happens today.
You put your trust in me, butwhat happens today is the same
thing that happened in the oldcovenant.
There are leaders in the quoteunquote church today that are
rejecting the counsel of God.
(29:33):
And if he did away with theleaders in his old covenant
church, what do you think he'sgoing to do with the leaders of
the new covenant church thatreject the counsel of God?
that will not get baptized, thatwill not baptize people in
Jesus' name that will not talkabout the necessity of receiving
the gift of the Holy Spirit, the promise of the Father the
(29:55):
blessing of Abraham.
It was prophetic throughout allthe scriptures that he would
pour out his Spirit upon allflesh so that your sons and your
daughters shall prophesy andyour old men will see visions
and dream dreams Necessary.
But it's been changed, and sothey have the same judgment
awaiting them that the Phariseesand the religious leaders and
(30:18):
the lawyers and the Sadduceeshave for them.
The same thing will take place.
What were they looking forevery time they came?
What was Jesus looking for inthe fig tree?
What was the man looking for inhis vineyard?
What was the householderlooking for in his vineyard?
What was this king looking forhere?
(30:40):
Repentance, quit doing it yourown way.
Put on my righteousness, put onmy commandment that leads you
in the way of holiness, the paththat leads to my righteousness
and eternal life.
But I can't perfect you if youwill not repent.
(31:00):
I can't even begin to deal withyou if you will not repent.
He could do nothing with theson who said no no, no.
I'm not going to do that.
Until he repented.
And then he went.
Who did the will of his father?
(31:21):
The one that repented and didwhatsoever the father told him
to do.
And so I leave you with thatconsideration today.
Repentance is the key to yourdeliverance.
Is it spiritually?
Is it financially?
Is it spiritually?
Is it financially?
Is it socially?
Is there something going on inyour life that has got you in
bondage?
Your key to unlock that chainis your repentance.
(31:44):
You must start walking in theway of righteousness, in the way
of holiness.
You must abide in the vine, youmust abide in his word and he
will abide in you.
It says it is repentance thatgives you the key to your
deliverance.
And then he does the rest Withyour cooperation.
(32:05):
Message out there grace, grace,grace.
But you don't have nothing todo because he did it all.
No, that's a lie from the pit ofhell.
That's Satan wanting to deceiveyou to think you don't need to
do anything at all.
You just need to believe.
If that was the case, then hewould have said to the Pharisees
and the Sadducees, who rejectedthe counsel of God, but you
(32:28):
didn't believe why?
Because you didn't get baptized.
They needed to do something, and it's the same.
Today you need to do something, and it's the same.
Today you need to do something, not just believe.
So let us be like that firstson, who may have rejected at
first and we all did, because weall fell short of the glory of
(32:50):
God.
We all were raggedy, filthyacts of quote-unquote
righteousness that were filthyin the eyes of God because they
were our own to boast inourselves and how good we are,
but we are not worthy.
We must be clothed with therighteousness that comes from
the only one who is righteous, jesus Christ.
