j - Jesus M. Ruiz (00:04):
The vision
received was that of blood cells
traveling throughout the body, supplying the much needed oxygen
and other nutrients to thediffering members of the body to
fulfill their purpose.
Once the blood cells are spent, they must return back to the
heart to be refilled beforebeing sent out again and fulfill
their purpose and fulfill theirpurpose.
(00:26):
I'm going to try to do thesharing of the word today a
little bit differently.
So if you don't have a Bible, you best get yourself a Bible,
because I might be calling onyou, I'm going to call on
everybody randomly and you'regoing to need a Bible because
I'm going to ask you to readverses and then you can just I
need you to stand when I call onyou Stand, read the verses, and
then you can just I need you tostand when I call on you stand,
(00:47):
read the verses and then youcan sit down and then you can
listen and be ready to standnext, because there's going to
be a lot of reading today.
And, uh, you know, I I thinkwhen, when you come to
fellowship and you read the word, I think we kind of get
uncomfortable, literally readingthe word and reading every word
(01:08):
in the word.
And if you look into Jewishhistory, you would realize that
they took a whole book and theysometimes would read that whole
book and it would literally takeall day long, and they all went
there to hear the reading ofthe word.
I don't know whether theyelaborated, I don't know whether
(01:30):
they you know, like we do todaywhen we take some pieces of the
word and we try to expound andclarify, but they literally
spent their day reading the word.
And so we're going to do a lotof that today and I'm going to
try to clarify some things andmaybe highlight some things that
we may not have come to realize.
So be ready when I call uponyou and hopefully this kind of
(01:52):
change will create in you agreater appreciation for the
word and what he has done andwhat he has said and the things
that he has not only declaredbut that he has also fulfilled.
So we're going to start in 1Samuel.
I was reading that recently andsome section of it popped out
(02:13):
of me and, although it's not thewhole gist of today's message,
somehow God took that highlightin me and just led me somewhere
down the road where I realized, wow, I didn't really see that
connection initially, eventhough you highlighted some of
its significance to me, andwe're going to start in 1 Samuel
12.
And just to intro it, this isthe period where Israelites
(02:39):
looked around at all the pagannations.
They had kings and they didsomething wicked.
They asked for a king and Godtold Samuel do whatever it is
that they've told you to do, andSamuel did it, but there was
consequences to that.
And so it's right around thattime that we're gonna start
(03:01):
reading In 1 Samuel 12, and askJordan to stand up loud and
proudly and read 16 and verse 17.
Dante (03:15):
Therefore, stand and see
this great thing which the Lord
will do before your eyes.
It is the night we part ustoday.
Katy Leyva (03:21):
I will call unto the
Lord and you shall send thunder
and rain, and he may perceiveand see that your wickedness is
great, which he hath done besidethe Lord, and ask him to do it
again.
j - Jesus M. Ruiz (03:36):
Right now, we
see that whenever you
substitute the King of Glory foranything else, it is a wicked
thing, it is Antichrist.
Antichrist is not simplyagainst Christ, it's in
substitution of the Lord ofglory, and that is who Christ is
(03:57):
.
And when they asked for a king, they actually did a very wicked
thing in asking for a king.
And the interesting thing isthat the Lord said give them
what they want, give them theirking.
And so, Dante, I'm going to askyou to read 18 and verse 19.
Dante (04:18):
So Samuel called unto the
Lord, and the Lord sent thunder
and rain that day, and all thepeople great in fear of the Lord
.
And Samuel and all the peoplesaid unto Samuel Pray for thy
servants, unto the Lord, thy God, that we die not that we have
added unto all our sins evil toask us of kingdom.
j - Jesus M. Ruiz (04:41):
The Lord said
unto Samuel that I'm going to
send thunder and rain.
Tell them that, and it's goingto be a sign unto them, a sign
unto them of how wicked theyhave done in asking for a king.
And when the Lord sent thethunder and the rain in the time
of the harvest, the mediator, who I now see, is Samuel.
(05:02):
Samuel was acting as a mediator, as an intercessor.
He proclaimed that the thunderand the rain would come.
And when it did come because itcame as he, when he spoke it
already the thunder and the rainwere coming the people greatly
feared and acknowledged theirsins.
They asked their mediator toplead to the Lord to forgive
(05:28):
them.
Would you read verse 20 and 21?
Lina?
Lina Cook (05:37):
And Samuel said unto
the people Fear not, ye have
done all this wickedness, yetturn not aside from following
the Lord, but serve the Lordwith all your heart and turn ye
not aside, for then shall ye goafter vain things.
j - Jesus M. Ruiz (05:54):
So God
responds through Samuel, the
mediator between him and betweenman, and he admonishes them
Don't turn aside from followingthe Lord and serving him with
all your heart.
Do not turn after vain things, idols, which cannot bless and
cannot deliver like I can.
(06:14):
This is what the Lord said tohis people.
Sherry, would you read verse 22?
Verse 22.
So God then promises right thenand there even though you've
(06:37):
asked for a king and it's a verywicked thing that you have done
I will not forsake you for mynamesake.
And if you remember Moses inthe wilderness because of God's
anger and wrath, he would alwaysremind the Lord.
Lord, remember thy name, because if you do away with
(06:58):
these people, all of the nationsaround are going to see the
type of God that you are.
It's going to kind of mar yourname.
So remember, you know thepromises that you made to your
people and there are times inour life that I don't believe
(07:18):
that we recognize or that weunderstand the honor it is, the
privilege it is to be chosen byGod to be his people.
It pleased him to choose us.
So there's something in thenext few verses that I asked
(07:43):
Sister Katy to read that caughtmy attention.
This is the part that washighlighted to me, and then I
just began to go off insomething else just this past
week when I realized I needed todeliver the word for this week,
Katy, if you'll read 23, 24,and 25.
Katy Leyva (08:00):
Moreover, as for me,
God forbid that I should sit
against the Lord in ceasing topray for you, but I will teach
you the good and the right way.
Only fear the Lord and servehim in truth with all your heart
, for consider how great thingshe has done for you, but if ye
shall still do wickedly, yeshall be consumed, both ye and
your kingdom.
j - Jesus M. Ruiz (08:19):
So the
mediator Samuel, excuse me,
mediator Samuel, excuse me.
So I begin to realize in thismoment that Samuel is acting as
a mediator, as an intercessor, and he says something that
really, really caught myattention.
(08:39):
He said God forbid that Ishould sin and stop praying for
you, in ceasing to intercede foryou and teaching you the good
and the right way.
We're going to come back tothat at the end, because we're
going to conclude with thatchapter, but I find this
(09:03):
interesting because, aftermeditating on this particular
word why did this grab myattention?
It occurred to me that Samuelwas a type.
We talk about types and shadowsa lot.
Well, Samuel is a type of whatthe only mediator between God
and man would do.
(09:24):
He does not cease to intercedefor his people, he does not
cease to show them the good andteach them the good and the
right way.
And I want to focus on thataspect of how did this form, how
(09:46):
did this come about to befulfilled?
And so the next set ofscriptures that we're going to
focus on are propheticconcerning the man, Jesus Christ
, his work and his purpose asthe son of God.
So we're going to turn toIsaiah, chapter 22.
(10:08):
Now I'm going to ask my dad ifhe'll read verse 20 in Isaiah 22
.
It's on the screen, if you wantJust verse 20.
And it shall come to pass inthat day that I will call my
(10:39):
servant Eliakim the son ofHilkiah, correct?
Now let me re-read this withthe meaning of those two
particular names there.
So just listen.
And it shall come to pass inthat day that I will call my
(11:00):
servant "God raises".
The meaning of the name Eliakimis God raises the one whom God
sets up, the one whom God raises.
So think about the meaning ofthat when it says and it shall
come to pass in that day that Iwill call my servant the one
whom God raises, the son of myportion of Jehovah, my portion
(11:27):
meaning my inheritance inJehovah.
Now remember this is propheticof the man, Jesus Christ.
Jesus is not named here, but ifyou look at the meaning of the
names, you realize that it'sprophetic, because I will call
my servant the one whom I willraise.
Who's the son of the portion ofmy inheritance.
(11:48):
I will raise him up.
I'll tell you if you read 21and 22.
Althea Harris (11:59):
Althea, if you'll
read 21 and 22.
And I will clothe him with thyrobe and strengthen him with thy
girdle, and I will commit thygovernment into his hand, and he
shall be a father to theinhabitants of Jerusalem and to
the house of Judah, and the keyof the house of David will I lay
upon his shoulders, so he shallopen and none shall shut.
(12:19):
And he shall shut and noneshall open.
j - Jesus M. Ruiz (12:24):
Now, if you
ever delve into the scriptures,
you know that the key of Davidis referring to Jesus Christ.
It's referring to that he hasbeen given an authority, he's
been given a power to open doorsthat no man can shut.
And if he chooses to closedoors that no man can open, the
key of David speaks to anauthority that is given unto his
(12:46):
servant, like what was given toDavid.
David did something that seemedin the time, maybe in the
moment, something that seemed inthe time, maybe in the moment,
contrary to what the Lord hadestablished through his word and
the Levitical priesthood.
If you remember, the ark at onetime was taken by the
(13:08):
Philistines.
They had defeated, they hadslaughtered Israel.
It was the day that Samuel'sthe high, it was the day that
what's his name?
The high priest Eli.
It was the day that Eli died.
They had taken the ark and hissons had died, and the ark was
(13:28):
taken.
The ark, the presence of God,was taken from Israel and
Philistine took it.
And you know what he did withthe God, the idol.
He crashed it down, he cut offits head and its arms and he
slaughtered them with boils Notboils, I'm sorry, hemorrhoids, I
mean, if you think you hadhemorrhoids, you do not want the
(13:51):
wrath of God throughhemorrhoids.
They literally died of it.
So, anyways, the ark wasbrought back.
At some point they realized theerror of their ways and I'm not
going to get into that.
But when it came back to Israelthey had placed the ark in the
house of Obed-Edom for him tohold it, because David was a man
(14:15):
with blood on his hands and hehad to eventually build the
temple.
But it was not to be built byhim.
It would be built by his son, solomon.
But what happened was David setup and pitched a tent for the
ark in Zion and he delegatedpriests and Levites to minister
(14:37):
before the Lord in music and insong daily.
But you have to understand,David was not a Levite.
Levites took care of the ark,Levites pitched a tent and
Levites did all of these things.
But it was David thatsanctioned a new order of
(14:59):
worship and he was not of thetribe of Levi.
So what he was doing was kindof well.
Well, hold on.
The Lord gave us the lawthrough Moses and told us to do
certain things with the ark.
But it wasn't this.
And so you have to realize thatin that moment David was also
playing a type.
(15:19):
He was playing a type of atransition that no one
understood at the time, but wehave understanding in Revelation
as we look back on now.
He was like John the Baptist.
He was a person in the periodof transition doing something
that seemed new, but he wasalways pointing to the one that
would come after him, that wouldcome and baptize in the Holy
(15:43):
Ghost and fire.
So David then placed certainpriests, levites, to minister
and he established what we callthe Davidic order of worship.
And he established what we callthe Davidic order of worship.
Now, remember, in Acts 15, therewas a great argument amongst
the Christians and theyestablished a council to be had
(16:07):
in Jerusalem because they werediscussing well, if the Gentiles
are coming in, then they needto be circumcised.
And I'm not.
I don't want to branch off intothat, but I'm just trying to
remind you of that episode.
But the apostle said James inparticular he referred to after
(16:32):
this, I will return and willbuild again the tabernacle of
David, which has fallen down, and I will build again the ruins
thereof and I will set it up.
The residue of men might seekafter the Lord, the residue of
men, not the Jews, the residue.
The rest of the men might seekafter the Lord, the residue of
men, not the Jews, the residue.
The rest of the men might seekafter the Lord and all the
(16:54):
Gentiles upon whom my name iscalled.
Sayeth the Lord who do with allof these things?
David did something in themoment that seemed contrary to
the law that was establishedthrough Moses, but in fact David
was doing something thatactually revealed God's heart,
and God's heart has always been.
(17:14):
God's heart has always been thesalvation and redemption of all
mankind, not just the chosenfew.
Jesus, in fulfilling this, davidic tabernacle, opened up,
being given the key of David, the authority to open up
(17:37):
something that no man can shut.
He opened up salvation andredemption to all men, to the
Gentiles, and though they triedto shut that door in the first
century, and though many men andmany denominations and
organizations have tried to shutthe door of salvation, it can't
(17:59):
be shut.
It is a door that he openedthat none can touch.
So if we will now read andcontinue in Isaiah 22, verse 23
and 24, I'll ask Stephen tostand and read and I will fasten
(18:26):
him as a nail in a sure placeand he shall be able to put a
glorious throne to his father'shouse and they shall hang upon
him all the glory of hisfather's house, the offspring
and the issue, all vessels of asmall quantity, from the vessels
of cups even to all the vesselsof flagons, amen, or flagons.
(18:46):
And when the Lord makes thisprophetic decree in Isaiah, I'm
reminded of something inparticular that Jesus prayed on
the night of the Last Supper.
It says in verse 24, and theyshall hang upon him Remember,
we're talking about my servant, whom God raises up, who is my
inheritance, or the portion ofthe inheritance of God.
(19:06):
I'm going to hang upon him allthe glory of his father's house.
Well, Jesus said something veryparticular in John 17, verse 5.
As he prayed, he said and now, oFather, glorify thou me with
thine own self, thou me withthine own self, glorify me with
(19:34):
thine own self, the self of God,the glory which I had with thee
before the world was, you see, when God came as a man, he
disrobed himself of glory, hisoriginal glory, he took it all
(19:58):
off and he became a mere mortalman.
And he prayed that when his workwas finished, that he would be
be clothed with the glory of hisfather's self.
In other words, the glory thathe originally had from the
beginning it says in thebeginning was the word, and the
(20:23):
word was with God, and the wordwas God, God and the word was
God.
God, in all of his glory, disrobed himself and became
flesh, just like you, just likeme, and he lived his life as a
(20:43):
mere man and everything that heaccomplished was as a man,
through the power of the spiritthat was in him without measure.
He had to yield to the self ofGod that was in him without
measure.
And it says in verse 25,talking about this nail that was
(21:04):
placed in a sure place.
Dante (21:18):
Joshua, if you read verse
25 in Isaiah 22.
j - Jesus M. Ruiz (21:26):
He calls him
my servant, my servant whom God
raises and whom I have given myinheritance to.
He's like a nail fastened in asure place, and I will give him
the glory of my father's house.
But it says that nail that wasfastened in a sure place is
(21:51):
going to be removed, is going tobe cut down, and the burden
that was upon that nail is goingto be cut off.
Now, as for me, that's a darksaying.
What is that speaking of?
If I was in the day of timeIsaiah, and he said that I was
(22:11):
like you're a prophet of God,what in the world are you
talking about?
I have no idea.
That doesn't help me.
None of that makes any sense.
What are you talking about?
That nail that was fastened ina sure place is going to be
removed, it's going to be cutdown, and the burden sure place
is going to be removed, is goingto be cut down, and the burden
upon him is going to be cut off.
(22:32):
Yes, that's a dark saying, indeed, but I believe the answer
is found in the volume of thebook, and so let's seek it out,
because is it a glory for God tohide something and for a king
to search out the matter.
So let's turn to Isaiah 63.
(22:54):
Brother Allen, would you readverse 4 and 5 in Isaiah, chapter
63?
Allen Cook (23:09):
For the day of
vengeance is in my heart and the
year of my redeeming has come.
And I looked and there was noneto help, and I wondered that
there was none to uphold.
Therefore, my own arm broughtsalvation unto me and my fury,
it upheld me.
j - Jesus M. Ruiz (23:28):
My God is
exposing his heart to us and
He's saying there's somedeep-seated vengeance in me.
I see what's going on acrossthis world.
I see the sin, the wickedness, the defilement and the
degradation that's going on andthere's vengeance rising in my
heart.
And I see the day that's goingto come where my redeemed is
come, the year of my redeemed.
(23:50):
And I looked down upon theearth and there was no one there
to help.
There was no one there praying, there was no one there
interceding, there was no manavailable to do the work that
needed to be done.
And so he says, therefore, myown arm brought salvation to me,
(24:11):
my fury, my vengeance, itupheld me.
Let's go to verse 11 of thesame chapter.
Ashley, are you able?
Okay, verse 11 through 13.
Althea Harris (24:33):
Then he
remembered the days of old Moses
and his people saying when ishe that brought them up out of
the sea With the shepherd of hisflock?
Where is he that put his HolySpirit within them?
That led them by the right handof Moses, with his glorious arm
Dividing the water before themTo make themselves an
everlasting name?
That led them to the deep, asin the course of the wilderness?
j - Jesus M. Ruiz (24:55):
You see,
Moses here is acting as a type
again.
He is a type of the gloriousarm of salvation.
He says my own arm broughtsalvation, but when he delivered
the people out of Egypt, theIsraelites out of Egypt, he also
used the same metaphor myglorious arm.
(25:17):
Moses was God's glorious handor arm of deliverance, of
salvation and of healing to thepeople.
He did all three of thosethings.
He delivered them out of Egypt,he saved them.
Salvation and of healing to thepeople.
He did all three of thosethings.
He delivered them out of Egypt,he saved them From the enemy
that was coming after him and hehealed them.
(25:38):
All those three things weretaking place and it was through
Moses, a man Acting as a type Ofthe redeemer, that would come.
Let's read more into this.
Let's go back a few chapters toIsaiah 59.
Lydia Ruiz (26:06):
Lydia.
Read 15, 16, and 17, please.
Yea, truth faileth, and he thatdeparteth from evil maketh
himself a prey.
And the Lord saw, and itdispleased him, that there was
no judgment, and he saw thatthere was no man and wondered
that there was no intercessor.
Therefore, his arm broughtsalvation unto him and his
(26:27):
righteousness is sustained, forhe put on righteousness as the
breastplate and a helmet ofsalvation upon his head, and he
put on the garments of vengeancefor clothing and was clad with
zeal as a cloak.
j - Jesus M. Ruiz (26:42):
Whether you
understand this or not, this is
already beginning to speak ofthe ministry of Jesus Christ.
God again looking aboutthroughout the earth and he says
truth is failing, Truth isfailing the person that departs
(27:03):
from evil.
He's actually making himselfvulnerable because he's been
taken out like lions take outtheir prey.
So when people walk inrighteousness, they get taken
advantage of, they get abused.
And He sees this and hisindignation is rising up within
Him because He wants to set therecord straight.
(27:24):
He wants to see justice in theearth, but there is no man to
bring it.
He cannot find him.
He's searching to and frothroughout the earth and He
can't find it, and it'sdispleasing him.
There was no judgment for thepoor, there was no judgment for
the weak, there was no judgmentfor the widow for the fatherless
(27:46):
, and he's rising up with furyand anger, but he doesn't find a
man that will take care of thesituation.
And since he saw no man and hewondered why there was no
intercessor, His own arm, thatmeaning He Himself, brought the
(28:07):
salvation that was needed torectify the injustices that he
saw on the earth.
And the righteousness his ownrighteousness, sustained that
man.
God's righteousness sustainedthe arm of salvation that would
bring redemption to mankind.
He put on the breastplate ofrighteousness.
(28:31):
It was his protection, it washis covering.
He was untouchable in the daysof his flesh, until the fullness
of time came.
It says he put on the helmet ofsalvation upon his head and the
(28:54):
salvation of many was impressedupon his mind because he said
his face as a flint, not for hisown salvation but because he
saw that his sacrifice wouldbring many sons to glory.
So he put on a helmet ofsalvation and it was constantly
on his mind I'm here to save,I'm here to save, I've come to
(29:15):
save them which are lost, Hesays.
So as we read these threeverses.
He also had a garment ofvengeance,
it says.
We see his ministry twofold.
The first and it began thisdescription is that he came in
righteousness to save theunrighteous.
(29:36):
That was his first ministry.
He had to take care of savinghis people first.
In the latter part of hisministry it consists of taking
vengeance on all of those whowill not accept the work of
salvation for themselves.
It says very clearly in the NewCovenant Scriptures two places
(29:57):
1 Thessalonians 1.8 and 1 Peter4.17.
I'm just going to summarize it,but you can write those down 1
Thessalonians 1.8, 1 Peter 14.
1 Thessalonians 1.8, 1 Peter 14.
It says very clearly he'sreturning to take vengeance on
them that don't know God andhave not obeyed the gospel, and
that his judgment will beginwhere In the house of God.
(30:19):
So there is an aspect toChrist's ministry that has to do
with vengeance, but first itwas dealing with the salvation
of his people.
And you see that in the accountof the Israelites Did they just
destroy all of Pharaoh and allof his kingdom, the people?
(30:39):
No, they first had to getdelivered.
When they got delivered andbrought out.
Then he prepared them in thewilderness so that they could go
forth and take vengeance on hisenemies that were in the
promised land.
The same happens for us, thesame happened for him.
He was not there to set up anearthly kingdom, not yet.
That was not the time.
(31:00):
The time was to take care ofthe salvation of his people.
Amen, taylor, would you pleasestand up and read verse 18, 19,
(31:23):
and 20 of Isaiah 59, the sameplace we were at.
(31:45):
Isaiah 59, 18, 19, and 20.
Is that Isaiah 59?
, 18, 19, and 20?
Did y'all get it?
I don't know.
It sounded kind of different.
That's fine, thank you.
I'm going to go ahead and readit.
It says according to theirdeeds accordingly he will repay
(32:06):
Fury to his adversaries.
Recompense to his enemies tothe islands.
He will repay Fury to hisadversaries.
Recompense to his enemies tothe islands.
He will repay recompense.
So shall they fear the name ofthe Lord from the west and his
glory from the rising of the sun.
When the enemy shall come inlike the flood, the Spirit of
the Lord shall lift up astandard against him and the
Redeemer shall come to Zion andunto them that turn from
(32:33):
transgression.
In Jacob saith, the Lord, theRedeemer, comes to Zion.
Zion is a word that has beenused countless of times in the
Scripture to refer to His people.
The Redeemer shall come to Hispeople and those that will turn
away from their sin.
He'll come to them, to thosethat repent.
(32:54):
He will come to them, Patricia,if you read verse 21.
Patricia Ruiz (33:05):
As for me, this
is my covenant with them.
Say it the Lord, my spirit thatis upon thee and my words, which
I have put in thy mouth, shallnot depart out of thy mouth, nor
out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed
seed saith the Lord fromhenceforth and forever.
j - Jesus M. Ruiz (33:24):
This is not
only prophetic of the man, of
Jesus Christ, this is alsoprophetic of the body.
It says as for me, this is mycovenant with him, with them,
this is my covenant with them.
There is a body, there is amany-membered body that I'm
making a covenant with.
But I'm speaking nowprophetically of the man, Jesus
(33:46):
Christ, and saying that MySpirit is upon thee.
My words I have put in thymouth.
Did not Jesus say that, whatever I hear from the Father,
that is what I say.
He's putting his words in theman, Jesus' mouth.
It shall not depart from thymouth, and nor did it ever do.
Nor out of the mouth of thyseed, nor out of the mouth of
(34:08):
the offspring of Jesus will itdepart.
My Spirit is upon Him and them, and they will speak my words.
It will not depart from theirmouth, nor out of the mouth of
thy seed's seed.
Didn't it say in Acts 2 thatthe promise is for you and for
your children and all that areafar off that shall call upon
(34:31):
the name of the Lord?
He's got it all covered for allmankind.
