There are many different situations in life that some might consider a challenge to hope. And perhaps they are in some ways. But sometimes what others think of as a challenge to hope turns out to be a wonderful enhancement to their life.
In this episode I have a conversation with my niece Rene Whitt. Rene and her husband Eric adopted a beautiful baby named Tylee. Tylee was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Where some might be troubled with this, they embraced the opportunity to share love. They’ve been rewarded in many ways as a result.
I invite you to listen to Rene as she expresses love, joy, hope, and dreams for a very special young lady.
Rene also expressed that no one is alone as they raise a child with Down Syndrome. One of the valuable resources she mentioned is the National Down Syndrome Society. Their web site offers a wide range of resources. It is located at: https://ndss.org/. By the way, March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day.
Rene also wrote a very special children’s book about Tylee and also has information for parents to help answer questions about Down Syndrome. The book is called, “The EXTRAordinary Skye.” It is available through many online book outlets. You can also contact Rene directly to obtain a copy. Her email is: arwhitt.arthor@gmail.com
