Welcome to the very first episode of Outside the Pulpit!
Whether you're feeling brave, curious, or simply craving a fresh perspective—you’ve landed in the right place.
This podcast has been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time,
and I’m beyond grateful to finally share it with you.
The name Outside the Pulpit comes from my personal perspective—
one shaped by walking alongside my husband, John, who is
a minister with over 40 years of service behind the pulpit.
But in journeying with him, I began to see another side—
where transformation wasn’t just reserved for sermons...
but happened in the quiet, ordinary, everyday moments
that stretch well beyond the pulpit’s reach.
This podcast is about that space.
Over the years, I’ve been blessed to travel across the world—
meeting people from diverse cultures,
hearing their incredible stories,
and witnessing firsthand how faith can transform a life.
Some of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned
didn’t come from structured messages—
they came from living rooms,
villages,
mission fields,
and heart-to-heart conversations
where real people shared their real struggles and triumphs.
These encounters changed me.
And through them, I discovered something deeply transformative:
our mindset shapes how we experience life.
The way we think... influences the way we live.
So here on Outside the Pulpit,
we’ll explore those intersections—
where faith and mindset come together
to help us grow, lead, and walk in purpose.
Most episodes will include biblical truths and mindset strategies—
practical tools to help you break free from limiting beliefs
and step into the life you were created for.
And every fifth episode, we’ll take a deeper journey.
I’ll share travel stories or testimonies from people I’ve encountered—
because faith doesn’t stay confined to buildings or borders.
It lives and breathes through stories
that stretch across the globe
and into the souls of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
Now—let me tell you why this message is so personal.
I know what it’s like to feel stuck—
to be trapped in a cycle of negativity,
carrying a heavy weight of low self-worth.
I remember one turning point so vividly: The day came where I was in a heap on the floor, overwhelmed, with all the thoughts swirling in my mind. Then there was that moment when I heard the voice from deep within,
“Go back to what you know works.”
I got up off that floor—and together, the Lord and I began rebuilding the altar in my life.
In that sacred process,
He began to teach me the power of a well-managed mind.
What was meant for my destruction,
has turned for good and That’s why I do this.
Because if transformation was possible for me—
it’s absolutely possible for you.
Romans 12:2 says,
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
That’s the heartbeat of this podcast—
real transformation from the inside out.
Because faith is more than belief,
and mindset is more than positive thinking.
We’ll explore the power of perspective,
the courage of self-awareness,
and the grace to become who God created you to be.
You’ll learn how to show up fully—
for yourself and for others—
and begin designing the life you love…
the one you were always meant to live.
You are worthy of love,
worthy of being seen and valued.
And yes—it’s okay to be both a blessing and a blunder.
None of it is too big f
