Speaker 1 (00:03):
On today's show, a war of words has broken out
between two high profile influencers. Lily Brown issues a warning
to influence the business owners and Tammy Hembro's new bow
spills the beans. Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your
dose of the hottest influencer and pop culture news twice
a week. I'm Kate Torbert, and so if you've got

(00:24):
some exciting news to share with us, I can't believe it.
I'm officially moving out of my rental and into my
own home. This has been a long time coming, and
I think I'm more stressed than excited at the moment.
It's been a wild week, yeah, because last night we
thought you actually weren't going to move in, because we
were on our way to family dinner. Dad had the

(00:45):
champagne on ice, and suddenly we got all these panic
phone calls saying that you got this very confusing building
inspection and you didn't know what to do. I can't
believe how many pages they sent us of things that
were supposedly wrong with this property. And anyone who has
gone through the buying process will know that when you
read these things, you get a real scare. Oh I

(01:05):
remember getting hours and I'm like, we need to pull
out of the sale because it was like fifteen things
that are apparently wrong. But when you actually get someone
to look over it that knows what they're talking about,
they're like, no, just buy house. Well, we are buying
a house that's over fifty years old, so there's always
going to be issues with it, and they are things
that we've worked out we can fix along the way,
so they're not as major as they appeared. But cat

(01:26):
all back on. It's back on, It's back on. I'm
just I do feel for everyone who's looking for a
house at the moment, though, because it is such an
awful process. There's so many highs and lows. I feel
like I've been on a roller coaster ride for the
past six months looking at houses. And I'm a little
bit jealous because now you guys are both going to
be living in the hills. But I'm actually so excited
for you because we now have a halfway point that's

(01:47):
a bit closer to me up in. I'm just thinking
of all the jobs I have to do now. Brandon
and I have this list of all of the things
that we want to sell at our house so we
don't have to move it across the other side of town.
You've only got a thirty day settlement, don't I. I
think by moving in on the weekend of my hen's party,
so it was pretty badly timed. Maybe at least I'll
get out of some of the movie. The most exciting

(02:07):
thing is right before Christmas, so as soon as you
have again, you can set up your tree, ghet all
your decorations sorted. I've already had a domestic with Brandon
about where I'm gonna set up my tree. So my
position is that where you set up your tree, it
has to be in your eye line, so you have
to be able to look at it whilst you're watching
TV or enjoying, you know, having a chat with people
on the couch. He wants to put it in the
dining room. No way, no way, Tammy Hembro's new boat.

(02:31):
Matt Sukowski has lifted the lid on his relationship with
the Gold Coast influencer on his podcast Now Kate. He
got pretty cancid in this podcast episode. Yeah he really did,
and I was quite surprised how much detail he actually gave.
So the biggest takeaway for me was the fact that
he actually slid into Tammy's DM. So it all came
about when he was doing some planning for his live show.

(02:54):
So he was sitting around with the producers and they
suggested getting some influences to the show, and Tammy hen
Bro's name got brought up. Now, Matt claims that he
didn't know who Tammy was. He's not familiar with influencers.
I would more get it if Tammy didn't know who
Matt was. But I think that Matt would have been
fully aware who Tammy Hembro. She's one of the country's

(03:14):
biggest influences. She has got like seventeen million followers. So
he claimed that he looked Tammy up because he didn't
know who she was, and he exclaimed, fuck, she looks
all right, So he decided to send the DM. Now,
he said, he just simply sent a DM that said,
would you like to come to our live show? And
Tammy double tapped it and liked it and nothing more
was said. From a PR perspective, can you imagine getting

(03:36):
someone like Tammy Hembro at your event for free? Oh?
It would be incredible. The thing about the head fuck
of having her like, you're like, wait a sec. So
does this mean that she's coming we put for her,
we reserve a section. And we were having this discussion
the other day. Is it rude to love heart a
lengthy text message? Because I think it's okay if it's

(03:57):
a short message, you know the texting is coming to
end very light to love heard it. But what about
if someone sends you a lengthy message with questions. Look,
I think that when you are in a back and
forth with someone and you can feel the flow of
the conversation and you know when it's slowly coming to
an end, it's acceptable to like that comment. But when
someone sent you a message and there's a question, or

(04:18):
there's is quite lengthy, it's obvious that there's some sort
of response to be had. I feel like it's a
bit of a power play. It's a bit of say
I'm too busy. I feel like a lot of people
use it in dating to look like they're really busy
and too important to actually respond. Now, Matt waited two
and a half weeks until he messaged Tammy again, and
he was really skimming over a lot of details. All
of a sudden, he said that Tammy had asked him

(04:39):
if he was in Sydney and he said, no, I
live in Melbourne, and then she said, oh damn, I
really want to see you, and that he was like, oh, well,
I've got some live shows coming up in Sydney, you
know the ones that I mentioned a Ridge in order
to contact. Yeah, and then all of a sudden, out
of nowhere, he decided to fly from Melbourne to the
Gold Coast to take her out on a date. I
want to know, did Tammy fly him out, because she's

(05:02):
probably the bigger earner in that relationship. Maybe they paid
fifty to fifty. Well, Matt has spoken in the past
on his podcast about how he doesn't mind giving out
the flame emojis to instant story, so I wonder if
that was what was happening. He was just instantly flaming
everything she put on. Ye I was so lucky these days,
they don't even have to try to start a conversation
with you. They can just send some sort of reaction

(05:25):
back to an Instagram store. Yeah. Well, fortunately Matt's co host,
Anna mackinvoy did a bit more digging for us and
she's like, hang on, surely more happened than that, And
it turns out, yes, they had been chatting quite a bit,
and Matt said he wasn't sure how his messages were landing,
so he sent Tammy his number and said call me,
and from there they had a one hour conversation and

(05:45):
they realized that they really clicked and Tammy actually got
Matt's humor. I find this whole relationship confusing because a
few weeks before this pat photo came out of them
kissing at the hotel, Tammy was speaking on her TikTok
about how it's difficult date as a single mother and
how she met a few people and everything was a flop,
and then suddenly this just seemed to come out of

(06:06):
left field. Well, she must have been spending a bit
of time on TikTok because apparently she ended up telling
Matt that his podcast videos kept coming up in her feed,
so she definitely knew who he was before he DMed her,
and she thought he was really cute. Is the algorithm
now the new way of acting like you're meeting someone
out of fate, Like, oh, you just kept showing up
on my TikTok? Now Tammy's a Love Island fan? Maybe? Well,

(06:30):
Matt did go into details about their first date, and
he said when he first saw Tammy, there were butterflies
in his stomach. And he also confirmed that they shared
a kiss on their first date. So he said that
Tammy kept staring at him and he said, what are
you thinking? And she replied, you tell me what I'm thinking,
and he said, does this mouth taste as good as
it sounds? Oh? Oh my god, that is so gross.

(06:54):
I don't think I could give someone a kiss if
they said that to me. Apparently it worked on Tammy,
because he said that they both went off separately to
go to the toilet and met in the hallway and kissed.
There was some speculation that that first photo taken by
a follower that went everywhere, was taken on their first date,
because some people think that they visited a restaurant that

(07:14):
was part of that hometing. I think what happened is
Matt was staying at that hotel. They stayed the night together,
and then they checked out together, and that was the
photo taken when they were lead. They were casually dressed.
I don't think you'd wear that for a date. Matt
has teas that he is going to get Tammy on
the podcast, and I can't help but think about Travis
Kelsey's podcast and how there's so much pressure to get
Taylor Swift. Well, it's quite clear that Matt is leveraging

(07:36):
his relationship with Tammy at this point because he's been
so quick to actually share details about their first date.
He said he wants to get Tammy on the podcast.
Obviously this is all going to bolster how many people
download it. He has had another high profile relationship before,
and that was with Kira Maguire, who used to be
on the Bachelor, So he is quite open about his relationships.

(07:58):
I think that they genuinely must have hit it off well,
but I also do think it will advantage him in
this frictly. I mean, it is interesting to note that
he is the one that shared a photo dump with her,
but she hasn't actually shared anything to her feed. But
even if you look back at her past relationship with
the other Matt, he I don't think he was as
high profile as Matt. Yeah, but that's because, well you

(08:20):
think Matt Zukowski's more high profile than Matt Paul. Yeah,
I do. I definitely do, because he's got a podcast,
he's got a large Instagram following, he was on free
to air TV. People know who he is. So from
Tammy's perspective, it sounds like she was a bit of
a fan of Matt before. So for her, I don't
actually I think in her mind it probably seems quite balanced,
and but she's been a small fry like he's got

(08:40):
one hundred thousand followers compared to her like seventeen million.
I also think when she says, oh, I know you
from TikTok, she probably thought, who's this hot model from TikTok.
I don't think she actually knew much about well. I mean,
I'm hoping that Matt's coming more from the perspective that
he's actually just so excited by the relationship he wants
to share. Yeah, he wants to share about it. I
mean it does open up to a whole new international

(09:01):
following because Tammy has a lot of followers from America
and the UK. So it'll be interesting to see if
it does bolster his Instagram following. Because the difference between
this Matt and Matt Paul is that Matt Sakowski obviously
is in the media, is happy to share about his relationships,
and wants to grow his following. I'm just going to
put it out they obviously hanging with the Hembros didn't

(09:23):
work out. I'd like to see Matt and Tammy on
a reality show, him meeting the kids, them living to
the other potent. Wouldn't that be good. Lily Brown has
issued a warning to influencers out there, don't get taken
advantage of when you launch a brand. The pajama mogul
revealed she caught a staff member allegedly cooking the books
in the early days of her brand Chill. Yeah. So,

(09:45):
Lily was actually interviewing Mitch Orvil at the time, and
she revealed that the staff member was allegedly adding an
extra forty percent into her production invoices and pocketing at herself.
Let's throw to some of what she said. I had
someone come up on board when I launched Chill that
was just so toxic, and she literally was like a

(10:05):
cancer in my business. Mitch ended up adding in that
he'd been down that road before, which I thought was
interesting because I don't know if he's referring to zep.
In previous episodes, Lily was talking about how she got
financial advice from someone who actually didn't have any financial qualifications,
so I'm not sure if it was this collige. She
does seem to have been shafted by a couple of
people when setting up this business. It sounds hard to believe,

(10:28):
doesn't it, thinking, Oh, how did Lily not notice? But
when I mean, we all manage our own finances, and
you've really got to know your shit to be able
to pick up stuff like that and be constantly looking
at all of your activity statements, So I can see
how it could happen. And if you think about it,
Not to generalize or throw shade, but a lot of
influencers have gone from filming videos in their bedroom as
teenagers to starting up these influencer brand so it is

(10:52):
likely that many of them aren't very business savvy. So
they seem to actually go and choose these people that
they put all of their trust into, and Lily has
obviously done that with the wrong person. Yeah, they're obviously
creative people, and sometimes when you're a creative then having
to jump into business mode doesn't necessarily always work well.
So in this interview Lily did with Mitch, he actually
revealed that he set to launch his own clothing brand

(11:15):
that he's been working on for a few years. Just
what we need another influencer clothing brands. I think that
the public have been crying out for this. There's huge
demand on this another influencer brand. Now. Mitch said that
there isn't a date set for everyone that's wanting to
spend their dollars on this, but he did say that
everything's happening a lot quicker than he thought, and apparently
the philosophy behind the concept of the clothing range is

(11:37):
very different and is very hymn. I did notice that
Lily was trying to be really polite and tiptoe around
some of the questions that she was asking him, because
she did say, how does this new clothing line differ
from the Hooded Smile? So, if you cast your minds
back to twenty nineteen, he brought out a range of
hoodies with very positive slogans on it and they were
to raise money for the Bushfire appeal and he kept

(11:59):
them going as well. So he has been doing various
merch drops with the Hooded Smile. Yeah, he didn't really
give too many details away about what this new clothing
brand will actually be, but I'm guessing it won't be
as easy as just slapping a logo on a jumper again. Yeah,
he also teased that he might be back on YouTube,
but he did admit that it's really difficult filming when
you've got two kids, and he seemed a little bit

(12:20):
unsure of whether he even wanted to share the content
that he's already filmed. I actually really enjoyed hearing him
speak so positively about fatherhood and how it's really been
important for him to put his work on the back
burner and invest time and energy into his kids, because
we don't often hear men talking about that. Sorry, I
don't mean to be that person, but how much work
was he actually doing before having kids. Well, he did

(12:42):
say that he and Chloe are in a privileged position,
which is not like most normal Australian families, where they
can take the time off to really be invested in
their children's lives. I understand that that's not something that
everyone can do it. Yeah, but he has spoken about
how his job is basically just investing in bitcoin and
making money off property that he's bought. Yeah. But that
being said, we're so quick to criticize anyone who puts

(13:05):
down the role of a mum working in the home,
but he's clearly working as a dad in the home. Yeah,
but Kate was comparing it to his previous work. Yeah,
and also, why were we so quick to praise dads.
Oh my god, it's so good that they're actually being
a parent, whereas as you said, like with mums, no
one's like, oh, well done for that, mum. I'm not
patting him on the back for it. I'm just saying
it was actually refreshing to hear a father openly speak

(13:28):
about how they put their work on the back burner,
because we often don't hear that, and how important it
is to actually be around. Yeah, but mums always do that,
I think, Kate. What Kate's saying is it is probably
easier to put bitcoin on the backburner if you're providing
for your family. But the clothing range doesn't work out,
Mitch has his real estate license to fall back on. Oh,
this was so fascinating to hear about because apparently it

(13:49):
was only a four day course to become a real
estate agent. Well do you think that they were acting
like this real estate license was a license to print money?
Because Lily was getting really excited, like they were talking
about how much commission they could make, and then Mitch's like, well,
Hannah's done it as well, and Lily's like, maybe I'll
do it. Yeah, because he said that his dad has
started his own real estate company called Awvill real Estate,

(14:11):
and he's like, I'm not going to be working in
there every day or anything, but you know, when an
opportunity pops up, I'll come in and do it. Can
you imagine the other people who are working from nine
to five being like, fuck, oh, I'm guessing they all
watch lux Listing like we all did it well. I
could actually do that. I could imagine a lot of
real estate agents listening to that podcast feeling really pissed

(14:31):
off because the way that they were talking about is oh, yep,
it's just this four day course, easiest piss Then you
just start getting this commission. It's way more involved than that.
And if it's not, maybe I'll do the course. Can't

(15:36):
she thought she contracted an STI from a mechanical ball.
She wasn't visiting the woolshared and Adelaie Botch. No, she
was actually at a college party and this wasn't recently.
She was actually retelling this story. So apparently, as a freshman,
she wrote the mechanical bull twenty times at this party,
and she was having the absolute time of her life
until the next morning when she was having a shower

(15:58):
in the communal dormitory showers and she realized that she
had all these bumps on her legs, and she began
shaking and crying because she remembered this horror story that
someone from high school told her that another girl had
got an STI after riding a mechanical bull in a bar.
So apparently she ran into her friend Hannah's room and

(16:18):
was crying and asking her for her advice because she
actually thought that Hannah was studying nursing. But it turns
out Hannah was actually studying biology, so she began googling
the symptoms. I'm going to have a wild guess here.
I'm assuming that these bumps on her legs are from
irritation from riding the ball so much, not from an STI.
Sophi is Google doctor, because that is true. It ended

(16:39):
up being like a carpet burn or they were calling
it bull burn or burn. But it's pretty funny because
Pedestrian ended up covering this story and they took it
to the next level, so they actually interviewed a doctor
to find out if it was possible to get an
STI from a mechanical bull. Everyone always says that you
can get an STI from sitting on a toilet seat, yes,
but it always seems to be men who've cheated and

(16:59):
they're like, oh, yeah, I got it from a toilet.
See you to say this is kind of opening up
a different sort of discussion. But when you go to
a public toilet, do you sit on it or do
you squat? I usually squat, but if I'm feeling lazy
or my legs are sore from a workout, I will sit.
See I go down the toilet paper route. I put
toilet paper over the seat, not all over. I kind

(17:20):
of lean on one side just to be giving way
too much information there, But yeah, I'm not gonna sit
bare ass. See. This is another one of those moments,
like the towel and chet incident. I just sit on
the toilet. I'm not such a seat sound across as
such a grot on this podcast. Maybe it's me building
up a strong immune. What's it called rat girl or
something on TikTok. Do you know what word we need

(17:41):
to bring back is FESTI? How like that is so
two thousand and two? Yeah that probably does appropriately describe
this situation. Yeah, Well, back to the STI. So the
doctor said there are two possible scenarios where you could
get an STI from writing a mechanical bull So the
first circumstance is if the saddle was hairy and the

(18:03):
person who rode it had a terrible case of crabs,
so they could actually transfer onto you. The other instance
where you could get an STI is if the person
who rode the ball had an open wound and was
sweaty and got their sweat on the saddle, and then
another person rode the ball and they also had an
open cut on them, So it's quite unlike God. This

(18:26):
is a lot of investigative work pedestrian has done. Yeah,
this story, well, the doctor actually said that he was
cautious not to rule anything out because he actually had
a patient who ended up having gone a rear on
his face after he attended a ping pong show. So
he's actually shaved his face before attending this event and
ended up getting hit in the face with a ping

(18:47):
pong ball. And that's how we got gon real Well,
there's some useful tips for anyone listening to avoid getting
an STI. A war of words has broken out between
og influencer Michael Finch and the husband of lifestyle Influence
at Madison Smith and it's all over a gym video.
Now before we get into it, so can you bring
us up to speed with the two camps. Well, I
don't think we need to introduce Michael Finch too much.

(19:09):
He is a regular fixture on our show, but for
those who have been living under a rock, he started
out as a beauty influencer and now has grown a
following on TikTok sharing food videos. Now he is embroiled
in an online fight with micro influencer Brody Sinclair, who
has seven thousand followers on Instagram and eighteen thousand on TikTok. Now,

(19:30):
Brady does share a lot of jim and fitness content,
and he is married to Madison Smith, who has six
hundred and seventy five thousand followers on TikTok and also
one hundred and four thousand on Instagram. I personally don't
follow her and I'm not really across her content, but
having a look, she does share the occasional gym content
and also very family styled content. Now, things really erupted

(19:54):
on Tuesday when Brody uploaded a number of screenshots to
his Instagram story call Michael Finch out. Now. Brody had
screenshotted a number of insulting comments that Michael Finch's official
account had left under his brother's fitness page. So that
page in question is called Tea Sinclair Fitness, which has
a relatively small following, and in the comments, Michael wrote,

(20:17):
please don't take hideous photos for everyone to see. The
fitness account wrote back you ever looked at your own photos?
Another relative called Alie Sinclair got involved, tagging Michael and
wrote is twenty twenty three? What is this? Wife? Owler?
Grow up? How insecure do you got to be? When
I first saw these comments, I just thought it was
Michael Finch being playful, because you know how he's always like, oh, Ronnie,

(20:40):
you look like a horse, and like it seems to
me his kind of love language to insult his friends.
And he also wrote ranswered under another post this guy
in the gym, and a lot of fans were speculating
that maybe he was being flirtatious and having a bit
of banter, but Brody took offense to these and screenshot
them and shared it all over his Instagram store. So
in response to Brodie's stories, Michael wrote back, ha ha

(21:04):
ha ha, to which Brody responded, you're hilarious man. Didn't
you used to get hate comments for your appearance? Now
you're doing the same shit. Good on you, buddy. Now.
A lot of people assumed that Michael had been hacked
because he didn't say anything about the incident on his
TikTok or his Instagram and was just posting videos as normal,
and someone actually messaged him saying, what about those nasty comments?

(21:27):
Were you hacked? Now? Michael responded saying that Brodie's brother
had actually come for his mum on one of her
fitness TikTok videos, and he said, sorry, but that's a
huge trigger for me, as if I'd say that unprovoked. Now.
Some more light was shed on the incident from one
of Michael Finch's friends, who ended up sharing a screenshot
of their conversation. So Michael wrote to his friend, as

(21:48):
if I'd come for someone like that unprovoked. A random
thirty year old man was commenting on a sixty two
year old woman's TikTok video in brackets my mum at
the gym, saying you shouldn't be doing this, you shouldn't
be doing that. So mum called me quite upset with
this comment, and that was a huge trigger for me.
Hence why I don't share hr on the internet anymore.
That's why I reacted the way I did, and I'm

(22:09):
sure ninety nine percent of you would do the same
if your mum was upset. It was really interesting to
see the different ways that Michael's followers reacted. So after
it was apparent that Michael was defending his mum, a
lot of people thought that was a worthy excuse and
that they would do the same thing, whereas others really
seemed to turn on him, saying that they've been off

(22:30):
him and his content ever since he started sharing about
conspiracy theories in twenty twenty, and people even came out
of the woodwork claiming that they were from his old
country town and that they'd had run ins with him
at school. So I thought it was really interesting to
see that there's people in his past who are perhaps
using this as an opportunity to suit their own agendas.

(22:52):
While I don't agree with people leaving trolling comments online,
I kind of get it more so in Michael's case,
because if someone goes for your mum, like if someone
was going on to my mum's TikTok, not that she
has one, but if they were going on a TikTok
and abusing her or talking about her in a disrespectful way,
I would see red. And sometimes you don't even know

(23:14):
what you're going to do in that situation. When someone
attacks a family member. And we've spoken about it before
because Michael would be used to people having a girl
at him, but it hits a different nerve when they're
talking about a relative. Yeah, there's a difference between you
choosing to be in the public eye and knowing the
consequences that go along with that, whether that's troll comments
or insults. But then your parents or your family members,

(23:36):
they haven't chosen that lifestyle and they might just be
in the background of content and videos. And I can
see why this is a trigger for him because perhaps
it's something that he experienced when he did share a
lot of his mum in his TikTok videos or his
YouTube videos, because he said he's not sharing her anymore.
From a PR perspective, although I would never tell my
own client to respond in this way to someone putting

(23:59):
my podcast on, I am actually very pleased that we
are getting some influencer brawls at the moment, because things
do seem to be quiet on the influencer front. I
think people are on their best behavior at the moment,
and I am missing a bit of the personality and
a bit of the drama that usually happens in the
