Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hello, and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
Sophie Torber and coming up on today's show, Mattzakowski says
he felt dead inside leading into his wedding to Tammy Hembro.
Millennials rejoice as Hillary Duff announces her return to music
and Nikki Wescott's baby news. But first, Kate, I have

(00:24):
to cool you out because in last week's episode, you
dared to question whether Olivia Rodgers' boyfriend Hugo was telling
white lives. I'm glad you've brought this up because I
want to put on the record I was wrong. You
just often admit that you're wrong. Yeah, it's difficult for
me to say that, but I received quite a few
messages saying hang on, no, Hugo was correct. So I
suggested that potentially he was pretending like he didn't know

(00:46):
who Olivia Rodgers was, because he said that they met
out and he thought she was just this beautiful speech pathologist,
and she put her number into his phone, and he
claims that the phone populated all her contact details, her
full name, and that's how he discovered she was the
Olivia Rodgers I called bullshit, and that's because I had

(01:07):
typed the scenario into chat GPT and said, is this true?

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Like, can this actually happen? This is your issue, Kate.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
You were typing everything into chat GPT, so this should
be a lesson for you. When I was listening to it,
I was screaming at you guys, because I'm like, this
has happened to me. A random message will come up
and it will put in brackets, could be this person. Yeah,
but I always thought that was because you had their
detail safe somewhere on your phone or on your computer. Well,
I think that you should apologize to mister Olivia Rodgers

(01:34):
because I was quite taken with him in that interview.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
He sounded like a lovely guy. I was glued to
that look. I am sorry, mister Olivia Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
It seems like you were correct that you didn't know
who Olivia was, despite living in Melbourne and her making
front page news.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
When she broke up with her husband.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
I kind of liked that he didn't really know who
she was. I think that makes their story quite cute.
He seemed to receive quite a good response from her followers.
I saw on TikTok, people were saying that they were
just smiling listening to the interview. Someone who hasn't received
such a glowing rap is Olivia Rodgers's ex husband Justin mckeann. Now,
over the weekend, he was set to celebrate his first

(02:10):
Father's Day. So back in May, he and his partner
at the time, former Bachelor contestant Tany Leeson, welcomed a
baby boy called Arlo, and from the get go it
seemed like things were off between Tarny and Justin. He
didn't appear in any of the announcement photos, he wasn't mentioned,
he didn't like or comment on the post. This is
despite the couple releasing this very curated pregnancy announcement, which

(02:33):
ended up being splashed all over the news. So, as
you say, Kate, it wasn't particularly surprising when Tanni decided
to throw some shade at him on Sunday, so she
uploaded an Instagram story where she was cuddling her son,
Arlo on the couch, and she captured the photo. I
know some incredible dads and I hope they each have
a beautiful day today. Although happy Father's Day to all

(02:54):
the mummers out there.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Doing both. Yeah, I feel really sorry for her.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
I just had a bad feeling ever since she put
him front and center in her pregnancy announcement because the
news came off the back of him being accused of
stealing almost half a million dollars from his former employer. Yeah,
and also there'd been rumors that the couple hadn't been
together for quite some time. They seem to have split
several months earlier because Justin kept getting spotted on dating apps.

(03:20):
I know so many people slid into our dms being like,
oh my god, I've.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Just matched with him.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Yeah, Sophie, there was another thing that we failed to
mention on last week's episode when we spoke about Olivia
and Hugo. I was literally screaming at the podcast because
you guys failed to mention that Hugo was clearly trying
to take a shot at Justin because when he was
talking about his own mental health, which I thought was
incredibly brave and telling that story about his father, Hugo

(03:46):
said that he'd never ever taken drugs before and it
was something that he was very proud of. And obviously,
as you said, with everything coming out about Justin and
his history with drug abuse. I thought, surely this is
in reference to him. Look, I did pick up on
it at the time, but there was just so much
to unpack with that interview. I didn't want to bring
too much about Justin up. Do you think because he

(04:07):
Hugo and Justin look very similar, I can't help but
feel like they're almost twins. Do you think that Hugo's
almost trying to distance himself from Justin He doesn't want
to any confusion about which one he is, potentially, I mean,
they do look so similar.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
She clearly has a.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Type, and he's got such a professional background as well.
I was so sad not to be involved in last
week's episode. I had to bring the whole Hugo thing
up again. Well, Justin also had a very professional background.
He was CFO at the time he was fired.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
I've learned now that chaos does not mean excitement, does
not mean enjoyment. It's like unforseen chaos, or like made
up chaos. Isn't isn't good for you.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Matt Sakowski has given an insight into how he was
really feeling months before his wedding to Tammy Hembro, The
former Love Irelander, revealed on the latest episode of his
podcast that he had recently been triggered back to a
dark place after driving past his shop he hadn't visited
for a while. Okay, yeah, So it turns out it
had almost been a year to the day Matt had

(05:07):
been at this undisclosed shop and the visit was so
memorable because he made a phone call to a friend
about something big that was going on in his life
at the time, and Matt said on his podcast that
it made him realize that he's a completely different person
than he was.

Speaker 2 (05:22):

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Let's take a listen to some of what he said, Like.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
To think about how I felt. And I even put
myself in the shoes of me standing in that shop,
and I got that overwhelming feeling of that pitted feeling.
My stomach went into notts and I could feel myself
like closing up again, and I got I actually got emotional.
I started crying in the car for myself. And it's

(05:47):
funny because that person now I'm not that person anymore,
but I cried for him and how he felt and
how helpless he felt in that moment.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
I couldn't help but feel for Matt in that moment.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
He seems to be quite touch with his feelings, and
it is really interesting to hear an insight into how
he was feeling a year ago, because when you look
at social media, it seemed to be all happy, smiles
and fun times they were planning their wedding together. This
of course comes off the back of him recently saying
that he is going to be opening up about.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
His journey with his divorce journey.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Yeah, and it was a bit of a backflip for
Matt because originally, when he revealed he was getting a divorce,
he said that he wouldn't be speaking about it. Of course,
Tammy has then come out and said quite a bit.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
So and also launched a new relationship.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Now.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
The episode Matt shared his story on was one actually
dedicated to are You Okay Day, and Matt's co host
Anna macavoy made a point to ask him how he
was and this is what he said.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Okay, Matt, I have a question for you. Yep, Are
you okay? Seriously? Are you okay?

Speaker 3 (06:50):
Yes? I would like to say that I actually am okay.
Like I've noticed, and a lot of people around me
have noticed how much I not my mood, but like
how much I have changed and we were listening to
old episodes from like a year ago and listening to
myself now to a year ago, I was like dead inside,

(07:13):
Like I'm a completely different person. My mates have pointed
that out to me, that like, I'm completely different now,
Like I don't have to have you note just my personality.
I can be myself again. I can like I'm more happy, lighter, Yeah, light,
I feel like.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Wow, that's a pretty big statement to make, that you
felt dead inside. It's a massive statement to make, particularly because,
as you mentioned previously, this was a couple of months
out from their wedding, Like he got married on the
twenty third of November. It's crazy that's coming up to
a year ago. Reflecting on the past year, he also
admitted that he hit rock bottom and he struggled to
get out of bed, but that he's in a much

(07:50):
better place now. He also said one of the main
things that got him through the last year of his
life with his friends and his family. He then made
a jab at Tammy, saying I've learnt now that chaos
does not mean excitement, does not mean enjoyment. Unforeseen chaos
or made up chaos isn't good for you, and I
stay away from that now. When I heard that, I

(08:10):
was like, okay, So, reading between the lines, it seems
like he's trying to say that Tammy invented arguments and
invented this sort of chaotic nature to their relationship where
they were always on and off, unfollowing each other, refollowing
each other. And I sort of feel like now that
she's with Bailey Smith, it's played up quite well for
Matt because people are starting to question is she the problem?

(08:32):
Was she the one wanting to rush into things? Because
she has rushed into this new relationship very quickly after
her divorce. That being said, I feel like Bailey Smith's
a bit of fun. He's a rebound. Yeah, to stick
up for Tammy here she can date whoever she wants
in whatever timeframe she wants. I mean, it appears that
this relationship was dead in the water months and months
before they actually announced it. So don't you think it's

(08:53):
kind of played out well for Matt?

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (08:55):
I think from that sense, it's played out well, and
he's in a good position now to talk about it,
and I think think he's doing it really well. He's
planning a few seeds here and there without actually making
himself look bad. When I was listening to the podcast,
all I could think about was what actually happened to
him this time last year to elicit such a huge response.
And it could have been something to do with Tammy's

(09:17):
sisters Amy and Emily appearing on Matt's podcast.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Now, we have.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
Spoken about that episode quite a number of times, but
for those of you who were new listeners, Amy and
Emily made it very clear that they didn't like Matt.
I'd even go as far as saying that they hated Matt,
and they even called him an immature baby and publicly
flagged their concerns with the relationship. Now, that episode was
released on the twenty fifth of September, but it was

(09:44):
likely pre recorded as they had to fly over to
do it, so it could be plausible that a fight
erupted over that interview, and that's what he's referring to. Yeah,
I mean, it's interesting that we finally have confirmation that
things weren't good before the wedding. I mean we kind
of already knew that with the couple unfollowing each other
and refollowing each other right before the Hucks parties. Yeah,
I mean, there was talking about the joint Bucks and Hens.

(10:05):
There was so much drama around that people speculated that
they were fighting because of a prenup. And then, of
course we also had Megan Pisetto doing an expose on
Matt just weeks out from the wedding, so clearly it
was a really difficult time for both Matt and Tammy
and it seems like they've just never been able to
recover their relationship since then. Why is Matt kind of

(10:25):
growing on me a little bit? He seems to have
this Golden Retriever energy. I don't know why it's working
on me, guess because you always root for the underdog,
and in this situation, it's like it'd be really difficult
to see your ex wife move on with the most
eligible bachelor in Australia.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
I think all his.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Little posts about his movie reviews and him with his
Golden Retriever, it kind of breaks my heart because you
do forget that these people are real people with real
emotions like that would have been such a whirlwind for
him going into this the world of Tammy Hembro and
then sort of being spat out of it. It's also
interesting that he said he listened back to his podcast
and he didn't sort of recognize himself and he was

(11:03):
such a different person because I've noticed more recently that
he comes across as a lot more likable and funny
and carefree, and I quite liked him. When he first
released his podcast, he seemed to have be a bit
joking and quite funny, and yeah, he did seem to
be quite a different person during that relationship. Just to
keep it even, I think we should give a little
bit of an update on Tammy hembro So. Her romance

(11:25):
with Bailey Smith has even caught the attention of the
big boss of the AFL SO the league CEO Andrew Dillon,
was speaking at a dinner function at the mcg last
Friday night when Geelong took on Brisbane and he name
dropped Tammy in his speech. So he said, this year
the Cats added Bailey Smith to the mix. Last week
he claimed All Australian for the first time and the

(11:47):
joint Coaches Champion Player of the Year. When I went
down to visit Bailey earlier this year, there was a
little bit of speculation what do we actually chat about?
In the end, I was really just there to give
him relationship advice and by what I've been reading recently.
I think it worked better than we thought it might have.
And to the buoyant people that asked me on the
way into the room, is Tammy here? No, she's not,

(12:08):
but we do have his parents.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
I feel like.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
This is all leading up to Tammy being at the Brownlow,
because if you're Bailey, would you not be pissed off
that DC of the AFL.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Is mentioning some fling you're having.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Well. I think the AFL's marketing team have clearly had
a strategy meeting around this and thought, Okay, look at
the effect Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey dating has had
on the NFL. Yeah, so they would say to him, hey, mate,
could you please bring her along to the Brownlow? We
need her there because I feel like people aren't as
interested in the Brownlow as they once were. Yeah. But
he's not the type of person that would go, oh, yeah, sure,

(12:42):
I'll bring her along. I mean, he's quite a divisive
figure in the AFL. He's happy to say.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
When things are annoying him.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
I mean, just this week he's made headlines because at
Geelong's open training session where all of the media are
invited to, he has allegedly abused a female photographer who
was taking a photo of him.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
There's a photo of him.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Giving her the finger, which I've seen splashed all over
social media. He's been known to do that to opposition
crowds as well. It seems to be his go to Yeah. Well,
according to the photographer Alison Wind, he verbally abused her
and when she told him she was just doing her job,
Bailey reportedly said back to her, you're doing an effing
shit job. I just think that that reaction was totally

(13:23):
uncalled for. The photographer was just doing her job. The
media are invited into those training sessions. I could understand
maybe if he abused a photographer like someone from the
paparazzi who was following him around him and tammy, but
this just seemed pretty unfair and maybe a bit of
misplaced aggression.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
Well, the photographer ended up speaking to the age and
she said she thought it was a completely unwarranted reaction,
particularly because she had just photographed Mitch Duncan on the
same massage table that she was photographing Bailey on and
she said, I photographed him, And then he said it
was a breach of his privacy, that I was trying
to bait him, which is incorrect. It wasn't as if
I was photographing him with his girlfriend. It was an
open mediate. It'll be interesting to see how this relationship

(14:02):
pans out with Tammy Hembrow, because if it is to continue,
he's only going to get more intense media scrutiny. I'm
Hillary Duff and I have some very exciting news to
share with you. This is definitely what dreams are made of.
My sixteen year old self is dying inside with the
news that Hillary Duff is making a return to music.

(14:25):
The Naughty's Pop princess made the announcement on Instagram, sharing
a photo of herself in the recording studio with the
caption new.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Music or something. I could not believe when.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
I woke up to this news because it was only
over the weekend that I was thinking, how cool would
it be if Hillary Duff tour it again? Because I've
been seeing Jesse McCartney popping up on TikTok performing at
these different events, and I mean Jesse McCartney. That was
the first concert I ever went to, bar the Australian
Arta one.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
I don't know if that counts.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
I'm holding out for him to come to Australia. That
just seems to be this thirst for Naughty's bands at
the moment. There seems to be some boy bands who
were touring as well. I think that it must be
in your subconscious okay, because Hillary has been dropping clues
for a couple of months now on Instagram. So the
first clue came back in June when she shared a
post commemorating ten years since the launch of her album

(15:13):
Breathe In, Breathe Out. If you can believe it, that
was back in twenty fifteen. Oh my god, that makes
me feel so old because I remember being so excited.
I was like, she's coming back, Like we need to
get around her. But unfortunately the album ended up being
a bit of a flop. I loved the album, so
it definitely didn't have the hype of the first album.
This album holds a pretty special place for Hillary though,

(15:35):
because she actually met her now husband, Matthew Kormer, because
he was a music producer on the album.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Oh Wow.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
And it's pretty cute because when she made the announcement
that new music is now coming, he was also featured
in one of the photos, so they were sitting together
in the recording studio and she was hugging him. So
he's clearly going to be working on a number of
these tracks. I think that's good news because I really
liked the direction Hillary's music was going. I know it
wasn't popular as her first two studio albums. Yeah, I

(16:03):
mean he has worked with some pretty big names like
Britney Spears and Demi Lovado, so he is a talented
music producer. Now, as you said, Kay, this was really
Hillary's comeback album, but unfortunately the fans didn't really get
behind it, and in the post, Hillary acknowledged that the
album didn't have the major success that her other albums
had had, but she said that some of the work

(16:24):
on that album did feel very authentic to her, and
she did poke fund at herself. She wrote, if you
were one of the five people who listened to Breathe In,
Breathe Out, drop your favorite songs below, love you. So
if I think you, me and Amy were three of
those five bookers, I definitely love them.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
Tattoo.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
That was a good I gotta go and listen to
these when I get a moment in the car to myself.
She acknowledged in the posts that there have also been
a lot of fans who have been blaming themselves on
TikTok for not getting behind the album more, and she wrote,
I see you will blaming yourselves not actually your fault
in brackets, but really is just kidding. But don't let
it happen again next time dot dot dot Okay. So

(17:04):
that was a pretty big hint that some music was
coming and if those clues weren't obvious enough. In late August,
Hillary also shared a post celebrating twenty two years of
her first album, Metamorphosis, which freaked me out. It took
me back to that time. I remember having one copy
of the CD, which we used to share with our discsmen,
and I remember Amy always took it at nighttime.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
To listen to to Falllessly.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
To be fair, I actually think that she paid for
the album. That's why I was in her room. Okay,
that seems fair enough. So just so many bangers on
that album, though, they really do take me back to
being a teenager and that time in your life.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
Well.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
Hillary ended up writing quite a lengthy post about the
impact the album had on her fans, and I found
this section pretty interesting because she wrote as much as
I look back and think this album doesn't hold the
emotional depth I look for today. I know my fourteen
to fifteen year old self meant every word. So it
seems like she's trying to indicate that this new album
will hold a lot more depth and maturity, which does

(17:59):
make sense.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Hillary is thirty eight years old now.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
I think that what she wants to sing about is
very different to what she wanted to sing about as
a teenager, and we're not going to be getting bangers
like Sweet sixteen. Yeah. Well, the thing is, I mean
I look back at that album, and you know, there's
so many good songs. Why not so Yesterday anywhere? But here?
I mean I loved literally every single song, but you know,
it's it's bubblegum pop. It doesn't you know, the lyrics

(18:23):
weren't really that in depth.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
So I can see where she's coming from.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Well, she made it pretty obvious that music was on
the horizon in this post too, because she wrote, yesterday
mark the twenty second anniversary of Metamorphosis. Although these are
distant memories for me, thank you for showing up the
way you did to be continued dot dot dot See
at the time, I was just so excited about the
throwback and all the old photos. I didn't even see
the two be continued part.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
It just went over my head.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
Well. In a twenty twenty two interview with Cosmopolitan, she
also told the media that she was itching to record
new materials, so this seems to have been in the
works for quite some time now. She has signed a
contract with Atlantic Records, and she is also going to
be the subject of a docu series that's going to
look at her return back to music and also at
her personal life. And as an og Hillary fan, I

(19:11):
couldn't be more excited for this.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
I have missed her.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
This is the perfect launch pad for her new music,
because otherwise it could go down the path of breathing
breathe out and not get a lot of hight. But
I think this is fantastic re engaging Hillary Duff's fans
looking back at what she did at the time, which
was amazing, and now how we support her moving forward. Well.
I think it's going to be a great docu series
because it's being directed and produced by Sam Wrench, who

(19:36):
also worked with Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift. I mean, again,
Hillary's name I think fits quite nicely in with Taylor
and Sabrina. It does seem like she is taking some
inspiration from Taylor Swift. So not only has she been
dropping Easter eggs for fans, she's also launched a new
Instagram account which has Taylor Nation vibe. So when she
announced her return to music, she posted in collaboration with

(19:58):
an Instagram account called Hillary Duff HQ, and in the
account's bio is a disco ball emoji, a star and
some cherries, whilst the display picture is of a pink,
cloudy sky. So far, this account has eleven point seven
thousand followers and only follows Hillary Duff. I was very
intrigued by this account because I think a lot of
people missed it, the fact that it's only got eleven

(20:19):
thousand followers. There's a link in the bio to a
new website that's been set up called hillaryduff dot com,
and when you click on it, it takes you to
a landing page and it says want to know what
Hillary Duff is up to? And it was so clever
because underneath there's a button that says why not, which
is a course in reference to that early naughties banger
When you click on it. It takes you to a

(20:40):
landing page and it basically asks you to give your
contact detail so you can find out all the Hillary
Duff news first. Is very reminiscent of the way that
Megan Markle dropped her website and information. Well, I think
all celebrities are using this format, and I think it's
clever for Hillary to have her own sort of separate
I suppose what appears to be a fan account, but
it's actually her running it to promote her music and

(21:01):
connect with fans on there, rather than doing it across
her own personal Instagram.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
I mean, she does have a lot of followers.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
If anyone is questioning, oh, well, you know how big
is Hillary Duff, She's got twenty six point eight million followers.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
That's a lot of people following her.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
We are shooting today, guys.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
M couple friendly Discoursies, little baby bum Auntie.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
Tr podcaster Nicki Wescott and her husband Ollie Frost have
announced their expecting their first child. The couple, who got
married in November last year, made the announcement whilst holidaying
in Europe. In a joint post, the couple wrote, smuggled
a plus one to Europe we can't wait to meet you, Bambino.
I think a lot of people probably missed this when

(21:45):
they were scrolling Instagram. They probably just thought, oh, there's
a hot picture of Nicki and bathers, because it wasn't
that overt that this was a pregnancy announcement. And I've
noticed this seems to be a new style of pregnancy
announcement post that influencers are updating. It seems to be
cool to kind of do it off the cuff and
just include it amongst a photo dump. It does seem
a bit daggy to do the general beach photo announcement.

(22:08):
I think that's almost being viewed as a bitchoty these days.
I mean it's a bit cliche.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
See.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
I don't even think it was the beat shots that
were in. I think that was quite outdated. I think
it was more going in a photo studio with jenes
On and letting you bump pop out. I mean, how
many influences do we see doing that with their Calvin
kleins poking out. This announcement did feel very them because
they're known for loving a euro summer, and when you
continued looking through the photo dump, it became more obvious
that this was actually a pregnancy announcement because it was

(22:36):
followed up by a photo of Ollie cuddling Nicki's stomach.
There was then an ultrasound video so spell it out
for the people they didn't quite.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Put two and two together.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
There was also a cute little sketch that I think
their niece or nephew did congratulating the couples. It was
a very heartfelt post. Do you think Eurosummer twenty twenty
six we're going to see Nicki and Olie with a
little baby in Europe? I don't know if it will
quite be the same as euro twenty twenty five or
the even when they were there in Might. They probably
will bring their child along with them, but I think

(23:05):
the holiday itself will have different vibes.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
See, I think they're.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
The type of people that will take their baby overseas.
I see a lot of influencers doing it, and hats
off to them. I don't know how they possibly do it.
I mean, last week we were talking about how Lauren Bullen,
who is better known as Gypsy Lust, is still globe
trotting with a one year old in business class. I
mean that makes a difference, but Honestly, my son is
nearly fifteen months old, and I think it's only at

(23:30):
this point where I'm like, okay, potentially we may be
able to take him to a weekend down at Middleton,
which is an hour away. I actually think he's a
good age that he could go on a little week
long holiday, maybe to Port Douglas.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
That's what I'm trying to push at the moment.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
See, I am just such a stickler for his routine,
Like it makes me feel out of control to think
of getting him on an international flight, like I just couldn't.
His routine is changing at the moment and he's getting
you know, bigger wake windows, all that sort of stuff.
Adam mcave always actually set to take her baby Swede
to Hawaii soon. It'll be interesting to see how that
one goes. I loved following along because they did an

(24:06):
overnight stay at a hotel and they forgot to bring
his sleep suit.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
They had to rush down to.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
Came up buy one, stitch it up because it wasn't
small enough.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Well, it was probably a.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Good dress rehearsal for them. I heard Anna talking on
her podcast about how Swede has just started to wake up,
and I'm thinking, oh God, have they really planned this
holiday at a bad time because she made a joke
about how his personality is coming.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
Out and it's quite loud.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
I just couldn't personally stand being on a plane with
a baby. I mean it's bad enough when you're sat
near one, let alone you having.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
To deal with her.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
It sounds like she's managed to book in the emergency
row and get a bassinette, which would surely make a
big difference. Getting back to Nicky's announcement, it was very
sweet because Lucy Jackson, her co host, was very quick
to congratulate the couple. She ended up sharing the bikini
photo of Lucy and wrote, there's a baby in there, Auntie.
Can't wait to meet you baby mom and dad on route.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
Oh that's very sweet.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
In regards to the timing, I wonder if they had
to get it out there pretty soon because The Wild
Ones are set to do a podcast tour in November.
I mean, judging from Nicki's photos, she is hiding it
very well at the moment the pregnancy. But as you said,
once they start going to live shows, you want to
be the one that announces at first. You don't want
people taking photos of you in the wild and people

(25:17):
start starting to speculate about it.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
And it's also a difficult thing to hide when your
life is talking on a podcast and you can't talk
about something so exciting and massive that's happening to you.
Let's get into our Friday debrief and I need to
check in with you, Sophie. How's your first week back
from maternity leave. Oh, I've absolutely loved it. I have
to admit though, on Sunday night, I did have a
bit of a knot in my stomach. I got really nervous,

(25:41):
and it wasn't about speaking on the podcast.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
It was that I was just.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
Hoping that my son Luca would sleep in his two
hour nap break, which would let us record the podcast.
Because we've had a lot of support from our mum,
but it's hard to juggle us each being at different
houses and us each having kids. So we've worked out
that the best thing to do when we recording is
to have her look after your son whilst he has
one of his wake windows, so then you can edit

(26:06):
whilst he's asleep. It's a bit a juggling act at
the moment. Yeah, Because currently their routines are a little
bit different, So it's about getting as much done as
possible while these lads are a slip.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
That's the thing.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
Whilst I've been recording the podcast, I've got my iPad
which has my Nana Baby monitor on there, and I
just keep looking.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
Over just to make sure everything.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
I know you'd be like, oh my god, he's dropped
his dummy and I might just keep going. For any parents,
is that not the worst feeling in the world when
they spit their dummy out and you just hear it
hit the Bassinette mattress, it's just oh, it's a horrifying feeling. Oh,
it just makes you so glad that Jack sucks his
thumb rather than has a dum. It's a weird feeling though,
because I feel like I'm getting my groove back, I'm
getting into it, but then I'm off again next week

(26:46):
because for those who aren't aware, we're doing a one off,
one on scenario. So Amy is going to be back
on next week. Yeah, you guys are juggling your maternity
leaver as we crawl to the end of the year.
I think next year you'll both be back full time,
so there'll be three of us on the podcasts, which god,
I can't remember the last time that actually happened. Yeah,
I mean I think that with too, we don't have
quite as many arguments. I don't know if that's less

(27:06):
fun for the audience.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
Yeah, I wonder if people can pick that up.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
But we did have a bit of an armchair critic
that was Amy. She wasn't pleased to be off that week,
and yeah, I had a few areas that I could improve.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Yeah, I thought it was a bit harsh.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
She said that it seemed like you were just so
raring to chat that you wouldn't shut up, which I
thought was the whole point of having an opinion podcast.
To be honest, it probably was a little bit true.
I've been stuck at home with no.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
One to talk.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
I was like, oh my god, I can speak on
a podcast. I still remember last year when you guys
let me come off maternally for like one episode to
let you yeah, because I was like, I don't want
to come back, and you guys like no, But when
you guys let me do the Molly May break Up
podcast with you, Sophie, And we did it in Jack's nursery,
and I was like, I'm just across this like, and
I'm just so happy to speak about something it's babies.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Yeah, well, I.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
Think there's where we're going to leave things today. Thank
you again for listening to Outspoken. If you do want
to hear more from us, we drop as subscriber only
episode every Thursday. This week, we spoke about how Tarlia
Scaines confronted her fiance Jake Sijano right before her engagement.
I think that's a lot more common than people think.
I think generally a lot of people have arguments the

(28:13):
day that they get engaged to because you're like, when's
it happening, all right, buddy?

Speaker 3 (28:17):
Like.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
We also spoke about how Tammy Hembro has kind of
brought in a new breakup Trent, so rather than dyeing
her hair, she's got in visiline. That's how the rich
do it. We also spoke about how Jojo Siwa has
threw a bit of shade at her ex cath Ebbs,
and then we finished off by having a rant about
Steph cles Smith's lullabies and deciding to film them. I

(28:39):
want to say you had a rant about that, Kate.
I was in defense of poor Steph and her being
stuck at home on maternity to leave. Yeah, you do
go a little crazy.

Speaker 3 (28:46):
Don't you.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
Yeah. And for anyone who has been on the fence
about subscribing, you can now listen through our regular feed
on Spotify. You just need to click subscribe and then
set it an account up with Patreon. It's really easy.
We've had people come back and say, oh wow, that
was actually so simple. Thank you again for listening, and
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. This episode
was recorded on the traditional land of the Ghana people

(29:07):
of the Adelaide Plains.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
