love to the Jewish community and the people of Bondai.
Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your bite sized dose
of the hottest influencer and pop culture news this festive season.
I'm Sophie Torber and coming up on today's show, the
horrifying reality of Indy Clinton's nose reconstruction, the truth behind
(00:43):
a British TikTok's viral luxury advent calendar, and the Ossie
Farmer with a striking resemblance to an OG beauty influencer,
the first Tammy Hembro has revealed her social media hiatus
is over. The OG influencer has spent the last couple
of weeks offline to film for a new reality show
called Shark. So Tammy took to her Instagram Stories on
(01:03):
Friday to reveal she's easing herself back onto social media.
She's actually been receiving a lot of messages from fans
being like, are you okay? Yeah, because she said it's
the longest time she's actually ever been off social media,
which is saying something. I can see why people are
concerned they need their Tammy content. I mean, last week,
I think it was one of the first episodes in
quite some time that did not include a topic about
(01:25):
Tammy hambro Well. She hasn't posted on TikTok since the
twentieth of November. She was a little bit more active
on Instagram, posting pre recorded ads for Black Friday, but
she properly hasn't been active for weeks now, so we
don't know what's going on in her life. I wonder
how this hiatus will affect her social media performance because
Tammy said it's the first time in ten years she's
been offline for this long. For those who aren't across
(01:46):
how the algorithm works, the more you post, the more
Instagram and TikTok rewards you. So when you do have
an off period but you're not posting, your post then
doesn't get put out to as many people. I have
noticed that slide note with my dog's Instagram account because
since having a child. Yes, I haven't been quite as
active on there six months iatus for you. No, actually
I've posted a bit here and there. But yeah, it's
(02:08):
really crazy because he's got like over thirty five thousand followers,
but fishing for new followers sometimes, yeah, getting desert. Sometimes
I put a post out and I only get a
couple of hundred likes. I'm like, what's coming on? Well,
you've really got to feed that algorithm. And I wonder
if it's worth it for Tammy to be appearing on
this TV show, if it's going to ruin how well
her post perform on social media? Because I say, bread
and butter really yeah, but once she's back, she'll be
(02:30):
posting every single day again, I'm sure, and I have
missed her content. Do you think maybe she might post
something controversial? Because she said that, you know, once she's
back online, she's going to fill everyone in on everything
that's been going on. It was kind of a bit
of a hook to be like, well, what has been
going on? I mean, to be honest, I don't personally
care about the TV show. I want to know what's
been going on in a private life. And I feel
like the hiatus came at a good time for her
(02:52):
because just before she went offline, she was spotted getting
cozy with the owner of the management company that she
is managed by. I feel like public sentiment was turning
a little bit on her at that point. So maybe
it's good that she's been offline for a few weeks
and people are missing her now.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
I think some influencers can definitely become too oversaturateed, and
I think that's been the case for Tammy this year.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Where to start this if I'm even going to post this,
but I just need to get this off my chest
because I feel sick in the stomach.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Indy Clinton has tearfully opened up about her corrective nose job,
saying she feels sick to her core about the impending surgery.
The popular TikToker is set to go under the knife
for a second time following a rhinoplasty in March which
left her with a nose She says she didn't ask
for so. In the tearful video, Indy said she had
PTSD from the first operation. Yeah, and it's not really
(03:41):
surprising to see why It's been a really tough twelve
months for Indy Clinton. Since she had her surgery in March.
She has been relentlessly trolled by low lives online who
have mocked the appearance of her new nose, and some
have even gone as far as saying that she ruined
her face, which it's been horrendous to see the things
that people think are perceptible to say online. It's shown
(04:01):
a really ugly side of TikTok. Yeah, And the reality is,
while Indy was copying this barrage of hate, she was
having to come to terms with the fact that something
drastically went wrong during this surgery. So Indy went in
to fix a small bump on her nose which she
sustained during a surfboarding accident, and she says that she
asked for some minor tweaks, but came out with a
nose that looked completely different and structurally has issues. This
(04:25):
is the first time that she has actually confirmed that
structurally something is wrong with her nose. In this TikTok video,
she revealed that her nose will have to be completely
reconstructed as she could no longer breathe through it properly.
Let's take a listen to some of what she said.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
I haven't spoken about this on I guess at deeper
level because my coping mechanism is a joke about things
and that's what I do to kind of protect myself.
But now I'm getting it fixed, I feel like I
can speak a little bit easier, feel sick to my
call about it, probably because I have PTSD from my
first operation that was this year in mind and earlier
(05:02):
this year, I had a rhinoplastia and it resulted in
an outcome that I didn't want to ask for or
even sign off on, which has resulted in I guess
I can't breathe through my nose anymore. Have to reconstruct
my nose now, which it really terrifies me. It's a
for hour surgery and we have to get cattlage from
my rib to support my nose again. Really hoping, praying,
(05:24):
wishing I have an incredible outcome and I'm in save hands.
I know I'm in save. Hans is an incredible surgeon
and he's one of Sydney's top surgeons for rhinoplastis and revisions.
It's more just internally what I'm dealing with, and I
(05:46):
just I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
You could sense a lot of fear in Indy's voice
when she was talking about this, and a lot of anxiety.
I mean, after the experience that she's had, you can
see why she's terrified to go back under the knife.
She would be putting so much trust in this new
surgeon's hands. What particularly shocked me was that they have
to get cartilage from her ribs to help reconstruct her nose.
I saw some people in the comment saying, oh, why
(06:10):
can't they take it from your ear? And then other
people were like, well, it must be a big job
if they're having to take it from her rib because
obviously that cartilage is bigger. That's absolutely horrifying. I didn't
even know that that was a thing. No, I didn't either.
I just was like, I can't even imagine having to
go through it, particularly because she knows that there's going
to be a lot of commentary around what it looks
like next. There's going to be huge anticipation around what
(06:32):
the new nose looks like, whether the surgeon has been
able to fix it, and I suppose whether it looks
like what her original nose did. I mean, this video
has already attracted a huge response online. At the time
of recording, it has over one point four million views
and one hundred and sixty seven thousand likes. It has
also elicited a huge response in the comment section, and
(06:53):
it points to a potential court case. So one user wrote,
I would be suing that other place that met stit up,
whilst another said I would be getting a lawyer if
they have caused you so much pain physically and emotionally
all the bullying you have suffered. Isn't fair praying for
you take care now. It's quite telling because Indy liked
(07:14):
both of those comments, pointing to the fact that there
is a potential lawsuit that is being issued towards this
plastic surgeon who did the initial nose job. Well, she
also hinted at a lawsuit in a video she filmed
after the TikTok Awards when she was talking about her
behavior on the red carpet, and she mentioned how a
reporter had asked her about her nose and she said,
can't talk about it for legal reasons. Well, it's interesting
(07:36):
because she is clearly using her comment section to get
her message across, Because there was even another comment where
someone said, curious why you aren't allowed to mention the
first place. It can't be defamation if it's true and
your honest experience, and someone replied underneath saying she's most
likely in the midst of a lawsuit so is unable
to make comment on it online to protect the case.
(07:56):
And Indy also liked that comment, So it's like she's
using those comments to say, look, this is what's happening.
I mean, I think India has a very good case,
considering that not only is she not happy aesthetically with
the nose, but the fact that she can't breathe properly.
I mean, clearly something majorly wrong has gone on during
the surgery. I think this comment really encapsulated the whole situation.
One user wrote, doesn't help that everyone's been a c
(08:18):
to you either, which got over fifteen hundred likes, And
it's true. I mean, can you imagine going in for
surgery it essentially being botched, and then everyone poking fun
at you, and assuming that you were really happy with
the results. Yeah, it would be a very difficult pill
to swallow. Well, particularly because she has come out and
said that the surgeons kept telling her, oh, don't worry.
(08:39):
It's going to improve, It's going to look better. This
is what happens. You've got to wait a year. Yeah, exactly.
They were obviously gaslighting her a bit. Abby Chatfield also
weighed in on the comment section, writing this is so hard.
I'm so sorry. This should not have happened. You look
incredible always, of course, but this is so morally wrong
that someone did this to you. Sending love and this
new surgeon will fix. I'm sure it's quite interesting because
(09:01):
I didn't know that they were friendly at all. Like,
it's weird. They seem to be from two very different
walks of TikTok, if that makes sense. Like it was
sort of nice to see Abby reaching out to her
in this way. When I read Abby's comment, I could
tell how carefully she must have written it, because it
is a really difficult topic to broach, because you've got
all these horrible people online saying, oh, you know, Indy's
(09:23):
nose looks so bad, But then you've got Indy saying, well,
I'm also not happy with it. But you feel like
if you do acknowledge the fact that potentially it doesn't
look like the way it's supposed to, your being a
troll as well, and it's such a difficult one. Yeah,
you want to be supportive, but you don't want to
kick someone when they're down. But I think she, I
think Abby handled it pretty well. I mean, at the
end of the day, Indy Clinton is a beautiful woman,
(09:45):
regardless of what her nose used to look like and
now looks like. But I just really hope that she
gets a result this time that she's happy with that
makes her feel confident and beautiful in her own skin.
And I knows that she can breathe through exactly. Who's
Michael Finch? And what do a lot of you keep saying?
Me and him are twin brothers or we got separated
from birth. An Aussie farmer by the name of Dallas
(10:08):
Dwyer has gone viral on TikTok for bearing a striking
resemblance to oji beauty influencer Michael Finch. The young dad,
who has attracted over one hundred and seventeen thousand followers
on the app for sharing about his life on the farm,
has recently been inundated with followers saying the pair are
long lost twins. Let's take a listen to what he said, Bruh,
(10:31):
I looked up Michael Finch and the first thing that
come up was Ken from Barbie's Dreamhouse or dream Well.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Whatever it is.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
What do you mean I'm the roughest mother, you know,
I'm just rough as all gods. I'm a rough country fella.
That's a pretty boy, you know what I mean. Stop.
This popped up when I was scrolling TikTok and I
had to do a double take. It was so funny,
particularly the accent this guy has, because he's just your quintessential.
(11:00):
That's what I loved about this as well, that these
two men come from such different walks of life, yet
they look exactly the same. I mean there's something about
their eyebrows. For those haven't seen the video, it's in
the eyes. I think. We reshared the video recently on
an Instagram story and we had so many people saying,
hang on, that is Michael Fincher. Isn't it like is
this just a parody, because I mean that's kind of
the vibe. You got. What I love about it is
(11:22):
as soon as people probably started commenting on his videos,
hey you look like Michael Finch, he would have done
the Google search and I had to type in Michael
Finch to see what photos he received, and of course
he got all of the ones from Michael's og beauty
days where he had obviously so much makeup on. Well,
I mean he looks like Michael Finch now in his
cooking ear does. Yeah, but I love it because you
know when someone tells you, oh, you look like someone famous,
(11:44):
and then you're gonna look them up and you're like
what the fuck? Like I reckon, he was like, what
the hell? I love that Michael Finch has been getting
around in the comment, so he wrote under the initial video,
maybe it's the eye color brother with a laughing face. Now,
Dialas replied saying, potentially with two laughing faces. I just
love that this video made it into Michael Finch's orbit.
I mean it has had half a million views. Well,
(12:04):
surely people were taking it. Yeah, very true. One user
actually pointed out that they think that Dallas looks like
a mix between Michael Finch and Mitch Orville, which received
close to seven hundred lives. So I can see that
these two need to do some sort of collaboration together. Yes,
they definitely do. Maybe he could do a cooking video
with Mike on the farm. I feel like they also
need to do it to clear up any rumors that
(12:25):
they aren't two separate people. There, it's just Michael Fritz
putting on an act. So we have a surprise for you.
There's something I'm going to lie. Well, we have a
very special adving under you have one thing for every day.
(12:49):
The partner of a British TikToker is being touted husband
of the Year after he set up a surprise luxury
advent calendar for his wife. However, as the days go
past and another designer give is unboxed, viewers are starting
to question whether it's just a big marketing ploy. Okay,
can you tell us more? Well, the recipient of this
austinageous advent calendar is thirty year old Leonora Smi So.
(13:12):
She is a former competitive show jumper who moved into
brand strategy and content creation after an accident ended her
writing career. So her specialty is event curation and luxury
brand strategy, which makes sense because she is filthy rich.
So while she made her money representing Great Britain show jumping,
(13:33):
she also comes from a very wealthy family. Well, as
soon as I heard show jumping, I just assumed that
she was rich Well. According to her website, she also
is a trained opera singer, So I mean that just
ticks another box, doesn't it. You kind of get the
picture of who she is if you haven't seen her content,
she kind of has Lydia Millan vibes. She is a
UK influencer who we spoke about a couple of years
(13:55):
ago when she received backlash for checking into a luxury
London hotel when her boiler broke during the cost of
living crisis. I remember that that was actually twenty twenty two.
If you believe it's that was a while ago. Now,
that is insane. Well, when you watch Leonora's content, it's
pretty clear money is no problem, and it appears people
(14:15):
are pretty invested in her very privileged life because she's
attracted more than one hundred and thirty four thousand followers
on TikTok and sixty five thousand YouTube subscribers. Her content
is very polished. I've seen a couple of videos that
have clearly been shot by professional videographers. Well, the video
you're talking about is her vlogmus introduction, So she had
a professional camera crew down at her mansion shooting this content.
(14:38):
It's absolutely beautifully shot. It's quite ironic because in the
video her luxury car pulls up and it's got a
Christmas tree, like a live Christmas tree on top, and
they take it inside. However, she actually unboxed a nine
foot tall bout some hill tree, so it's kind of like, well,
which one is it? But if you're that rich, you're
going to have a couple of Christmas trees in your house.
I'm sorry, you were absolutely correct. I'm wrong there, but
(15:00):
I mean people have bedroom Christmas trees. Mollly May has one.
She would have a number of living rooms. I'm sure
that all needs to be decorated with a Christmas tree.
That is completely true. I'm sorry, I'm not in my
rich mindset at the moment. If a faux part on
your own, it is well. In terms of this advent calendar,
at the start of December, Lenora went viral after she
shared her husband surprising her with it. Now, her husband's
(15:23):
name is Mark and they've been married since twenty twenty
one and they met in the equestrian world of course,
so he is the director of an equestrian company and
is believed to work in asset management. So what we've
been led to believe is apparently off his own back.
He created this advent calendar for Lenora. Now I say
advent calendar, but essentially he selected twenty five gifts for
(15:46):
her and put them under the bowsam Hill tree, and
every day she opens one of these gifts on camera. Now,
the first video of the unveiling of the idea went
absolutely viral. At the time of recording, it's had over
eight million views. When the caption of the TikTok, Lenora
gushed about how she had no idea how her husband
managed to pull it off without her realizing. However, a
(16:07):
sentence later, she tagged the designer brand where the present
came from. Now, for those playing at home, was a
silk scarf that retails for a couple of one hundred dollars.
Oh so, was that the cheapy item to kick the
month off? I mean, for me, what was a huge
red flag to begin with was the fact that all
of these presents were professionally wrapped. They had the most
beautiful red bows on top of them. I thought, this
(16:29):
guy hasn't organized this. Yeah, there's been a few clues
that he's had a lot of help. It's quite funny
because the general consensus from this first video was that
Lenora was a spoiled brat. The top comment on the
video read did you hear thank you? I didn't now.
This comment received over thirty seven thousand likes. There was
also a lot of confusion around her husband, Mark, because
many people assumed that he was her dad because there
(16:51):
is a bit of an age gap there. I'm glad
that got cleared up because people would have been particularly
confused on day ten of the Advent calendar when she
unboxed Lingerie or disturbed. I think by the second video, though,
people were starting to become more invested, so one person wrote,
did anyone find this kind of annoying at the beginning?
But now fully invested every day? It's almost like a
(17:14):
modern day gifting guide for men, for hopeless men who
don't know what to get their partners in saying that
I kind of feel like the lingerie is a present
for himself. I don't know if that's a present for her.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
Well.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
It was pretty gross because he's like, oh, after this one,
I hope I get lucky tonight, and she's like, you
can't say that. It seems like she doesn't even like
him when she's a rapidly more present shut up. Yeah. Well, Interestingly,
in the caption of the second video, Lenora thanked her
quote husband, mother and team for pulling it together. And
by day four, after Lenora unboxed a design address and
(17:46):
gloves for herself and then pet accessories for her four
sausage dogs, it was becoming apparent this was all a
giant ad. No way. One person wrote, so, I'm a
bit slow picking up on this, but it's one big ad,
isn't it.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Now.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
In a bit to try and throw people off the
scent that this was in fact just twenty five days
of brand deals, it wasn't a surprise advent calendar like
she claimed, Lenora put in a bit of a red
herring into one of her videos. Yeah, so for day
five she had her mom sit and watch her on
box the gift. So in the video, Lenora started quizzing
her mum, asking if she had helped her husband pick
(18:19):
out all of these amazing gifts, and the mom goes, oh, no,
I said to him that you don't need anything. However,
he insisted that he really wanted to do this, so
she then helped him with some of the ideas. The
lingerie you got hope not. And it was really clear
that the mum, even though she's filthy rich, was trying
to appeal to the masses because she said, I'm so
(18:41):
jealous because your dad just runs around a farm shop
on Christmas even buys me a wooly hat. It's like,
judging by the way this woman presented herself, there is
no way that actually happens. Like I am sure she
is absolutely spoilt, rotten like her daughter. Now, after Lenora
pumping up the fact that her mum had helped with
Day five's gift and not a yeah and saying it
(19:01):
was so nostalgic, Lenora proceeded to open a piece of coal.
Well maybe that's what everyone in the comment section thought
she needed for being a bit of a brat. Yeah, Well,
it turns out that Lenora's parents gave her coal when
she was seven because she was being a brat, which
I thought spoke polumes and it was pretty funny. In
the following video, Lenora said to her husband, why did
you let mummy get me coal? Her calling her mum
(19:23):
mummy at thirty years of age just tells me everything personality. Well,
the big question for me is what is she getting
on Christmas Day, Like, how do you top these extravagant gifts?
Surely it's some holiday or something. No, well, she already
got given a trip to Paris a color weekend. Yeah, yeah,
probably a car. Also, what's she buying her husband? A
lot of people have been asking, well, what are you
getting here, and she said she's working on it. So
(19:45):
are people picking up sort of sugar dad vibes? Is
that what's sort of going on here? So she's actually
the one that appears to have the money in this relationship.
So it points even more to the fact that this
is some massive brand deal. Also the fact that in
her Instagram buyer it reads that she's a luxury brand strategy.
Just like, this is clearly some big strategy she has
put together and it is really working. She's clearly good
(20:06):
at what she does. I mean, these videos have received
so much engagement. It's a new way to get people
excited about certain luxury gifts. It's pretty brilliant. I mean,
she's got everyone hooked. And I know there's been mounting
criticism that it's consumerism at its worse and she should
be donating gifts to children. But I do think we
just need to enjoy it for what it is. It's
a bit of Christmas escapism at its best. Well, I
(20:29):
think that is all we have time for today. Thank
you so much for joining us for this special, bite
sized episode. We really enjoyed putting it together. If you
are looking for more content, we drop new subscriber episodes
every Thursday. It's basically an extension of this show, and
I think it's much needed, particularly when every other podcast
is off on holidays. At the moment, there's nothing around
(20:50):
to listen to. So if you want to get a
dose of even more influenced from pop culture news, sign
up to Outspoken Plus. It's a great Christmas present. I
mean it is, and it's very cheap. It's the perfect
i'd say a gift for yourself as well. It's five
ninety nine a month. You get four episodes a month.
I mean, it's actually almost too cheap, i'd say. So
this is really a hard seller. Well, this episode was
(21:11):
recorded on the traditional land of the Ghana people of
the Adelaide Plains. We pay respect to Elder's past and present,
and I hope everyone is starting to feel a bit
more festive. I know I certainly am
