Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hello, and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
hottest influenza and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
Amy Torber and coming up on today's show, Nicky Wes
Scott's refreshing pregnancy reveal, Kayla Edzinas's surprising business empire, and
the wild Ones Poke fun at the Jackie Alexander Gabby
Sullivan feud. But first, I'm coming to you with an

(00:25):
update on the biting pandemic at Molly May's daughter's daycare.
So last month, we discussed how Mollie May consulted chat
GPT for parenting advice after she got a call from
Bambie's daycare saying she'd bitten another child. At the time,
Molly was torn about whether to take Bambee for their
planned ice cream date. Now, in Molly's recent YouTube, she

(00:47):
provided an update on the situation, sharing a clip of
Bambee listing people she wanted to bite. Let's take it.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Listen, I got to bite, sema, oh no, na, I
gotta buy.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
No. We don't use our mouth to bite, do we?
What do we use our mouth for? Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:09):
For food, for eating?

Speaker 3 (01:11):
We bite our food.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Don't buy anyone, Okay, bye e no bye no, no,
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
I'm laughing at that.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
We bite croissants, Yeah, we buy pasta, No, we bite pa.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Hats off to Molly. I think this was great parenting
from her because she really tried hard to discourage the behavior.
At one point she nearly lost it. I also loved
her pronunciation of coroissants. We buy coroissants. I wonder how
the parents of Emily and Dora are feeling that Molly's flog.
Are they like contemplating ripping the kids out of the daycare?
And well, this like Emily and Dra's payday, Like Molly

(01:56):
May's kid has bitten us, we are gonna sue. I mean,
it's on record that she was planning. I think the
comment section was almost as funny as the clip of Bamby.
So someone wrote underneath her listing the victims is sending
me and that comment got over two hundred and thirty
five thousand likes. Someone else said yeah, she defo shouldn't
have got the ice cream, and other people were joking

(02:17):
that Bamby's grandfather, John Fury, already had her in training,
so he of course is Tommy's boxing trainer. It is
crazy how quickly these snippets from Molly's youtubes go up
on TikTok and suddenly gain like hundreds of thousands of likes.
There was one I saw the other day and it
was Molly outside of Tesco. So she'd arrived with Bamby
and the Tesco wasn't opened and it was her people watching.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Oh no, that.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Was the saddest thing I've ever seen. That was the
saddest thing I've ever seen. He's not even that old,
but I've just seen an elderly man go up to
the door Tesco and realize it it's closed, and he
literally just did this motion watching him walk away with
his head down. Oh my gosh, what I know the feeling.
But oh there's another one walking up now doors close

(03:01):
looking in. Oh this is pure heartbreak.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
I could have watched her commentating that for hours like
it was hilarious. Like the thought of Molly May watching
these people. I wonder if she gets annoyed that people
make these edits of her YouTube video and then gain
all of the likes. I wonder if it will get
to a point where an influencers manager will cut up
the clips that they know will go viral. In saying

(03:26):
that though, I think the clips go viral because people
just want to have a bit about what the influencer
has done. So maybe they don't want that attention. It's
free promotion. It's like they're doing the advertising for her.
But Tiktoks almost turned into title Life, where the clip
will go up and people will just go absolutely ham
and often the influencer who's in the clip will see it.

Speaker 5 (03:49):
Not putting too much pressure on it and you know,
being completely vulnerable and honest at the fact that yeah, fuck,
I am freaking out.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Yeah I probably don't know what I'm doing.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
I've dodged every nappy change in my life and I'm
We've got three nieces and nephews.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Nicki Wescott has opened up about her pregnancy news. The
fashion label founder admitted on her podcast this week that
she's been left freaking out after falling pregnant by surprise.
I think this has to be one of the most
refreshing influence of pregnancy announcements stories I've listened to. Since
Nicki announced last week that she and her husband Oli
Frost were pregnant with their first child, I have been

(04:24):
desperate to know more, particularly because Nicki is a bit
of a party girl. I mean she's known as one
half of the Wild Ones with her best friend Lucy Jackson.
They've even named their podcast Live to a Party Girl.
So when I saw the news, I was like, Wow,
that is going to be a big lifestyle change. So
I presumed that it must have been a planned pregnancy

(04:44):
because she got married last year. So when I saw
the podcast episode pop up and it teased Nicki would
explain how she told her husband, Ollie and her best
friend Lucy. I just expected your typical influencer story. I
even imagined the curated surprise video that would soon be
posted on social media. But that's not what we got. Instead,
it was this role reversal, and Nicki was the one

(05:06):
that was taken by surprise. Yeah. So Nicki was actually
at the doctor for a papsmere and she mentioned to
the doctor that she was a day late for her period,
but she said it wasn't anything new because she'd been
having really a regular period since going off the pill.
And I think normally when you hear someone has gone
off the pill, you think they must have been trying
for a baby. But Nicki explained that her decision to

(05:26):
go off the pill was actually motivated by fellow influencer
m Davies. Apparently it took em around a year to
get her period back after going off the pill. So
Nicki was worried that the same thing might happen to
her because she'd been on the pill for sixteen years,
So she decided after a wedding she'd give her body
a break from it. I mean, I did the exact
same thing. I was, like, I was so worried about it, Like, yeah,

(05:47):
it really gets into your head and it's been on
it for a long time. But there's so much talk
about the pill being bad for you as well. Yeah,
and I suppose a lot of people go, oh, once
I'm married, Like, if I do feel pregnant, it might
not be planned, but I'm not going to freak out
as much about it.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
So after the papsme, Nicki said that she spoke to
her doctor about wanting to freeze her eggs at the
end of the year, once her cycle had settled down.
So the doctor said, well, we may as well run
some tests, and as a precaution, I'll get you to
do a pregnancy test. Let's listen to Nicki retell the
moment she found out she was pregnant, she takes it.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
She goes thank you, and she's like waiting in the room,
and then she comes back in and she closes the door,
and I just looked at her and I was like,
oh my god, and she goes, Okay, you're pregnant. I
can even imagine just like the blood just no joke,
like rushed from my face and I was just like, sorry,
what She's like, Yep, you're pregnant.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
God.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Listening to that, I felt the blood rush from my
own face, Like I could just imagine what that moment
would have been like. And she said she ended up
leaving the doctors in such a daze, so much so
that she actually left her scan referral forms at reception
and on the way home, she called her husband, Ollie,
and said that she had news for him, and the
moment she came through the door, she burst into tears

(07:02):
and told him what had happened. I think a lot
of people might have been confused by this reaction because
you think, oh, well, they're married and they were talking
about potentially freezing their eggs. You know, they obviously want children.
But even when you have planned to have a baby, Like,
for example, when Dayla I decided yes, we want to
have a baby. When I did that pregnancy test, I

(07:23):
was still freaked out, like, oh my god, am I
actually ready for this? Like I completely have planned this,
like this is the right timing we want, and still
you're just left with this really odd feeling because it
is such a huge responsibility. Yeah, I think it was
really brave for her to share all of this, because
there's a lot of pressure on women to be grateful
when they fall pregnant, even if it's not something that
they've planned. I mean again, with me, I was open

(07:46):
to falling pregnant, Like I wasn't on the pill anymore.
My partner and I were like trying, but not actively trying,
and I knew, you know, you just know, like and
I'd been feeling nauseous and I was like, I've got
to go get the test, like I and you know,
I took the test by myself because I wanted to
do one of those surprises with my husband, which actually
ended up going balls up anyway. And I still remember
going to the supermarket and feeling like I was like

(08:08):
a teen mum buying the pregnancy test and having to
hide it from people, and then just the shock of
like it was the first pregnancy test I've ever opened,
and I'm like, oh my god, this is so weird.
Like I thought it was really funny because Nicki referenced
how she'd seen this really cool way that Laura Henshaw
had told Steph Claire Smith how she was pregnant, but
because her situation was so different, she didn't plan anything

(08:29):
like that, and I kind of love that she didn't,
because one, it actually is so on brand for Nicki
to reveal her pregnancy in this way, like they even
joked about it, saying these stories just literally happened for
us for the podcast. Well, in terms of the way
she broke the news to Lucy, it was really early
on in her pregnancy, so she found out she was
pregnant at the doctor and she ended up having to

(08:51):
go back to work, but she didn't say anything and
she seemed really withdrawn, and Lucy was worried that maybe
something had gone wrong. She knew she was getting a
paps mere and she kind of left her over the weekend.
She was like, I'll leave her to it, and Lucy
said that Nicki was really quiet and she was in
this great mood because she'd hooked up with this guy
on the weekend, and she drove up to Nicky and
Nicki jumped in her car and literally burst out crying

(09:15):
and was saying, oh my god, something terrible has happened.
And Lucy was like what, And then when she told
her she was pregnant, She's like, oh, thank god, I
thought your dog had died. I mean, you can deal.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
With this.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
Well. Funnily enough, it turns out that Lucy had a
premonition about Nicky's pregnancy. So they did an episode of
Happy Hour where they brought in a tarot reader and
based on the cards that Nicki pulled out, she guessed
Nicki was pregnant, and this was before Nicki even knew
that she was pregnant. How about how Lucy said she
was sitting on the toilet and all of a sudden
she got this urge to confront Nikki about being pregnant,

(09:49):
and she said she ran off the toilet with her
pants down, saying you're pregnant, and again Nicki was like,
I'm not because she thought she wasn't pregnant. Do you
think Lucy and Nicki were nervous about putting this episode
out because anytime you touch on pregnancy, it is a
difficult topic because, as you said, you have to be
so grateful that you've fallen pregnant, and they weren't really
talking about it in the way we're so used to

(10:11):
hearing women celebrate their pregnancies. Well, that's why it resonated
with a lot of people, because everyone's pregnancy stories are different,
and sadly, there are a lot of people that struggle
with their fertility and it's great now that we have
platforms where people can share those stories. And I think
that we should have space for other people to share
their stories about, you know, feeling a bit uneasy about

(10:32):
the fact that you've had an unplanned pregnancy and being
brave enough to actually put that out on the record,
because I mean, it's so difficult when you are pregnant
and you second guess everything you say if you have
a platform like a podcast or if you have a following,
because you know you're worried that your child may hear
this and get upset. So I think it was really

(10:55):
brave and she would have helped a lot of people
by sharing how she felt. Yeah, And I feel like
the discussion around almost like mourning your old life because
you can tell that she's freaking out because, as you said,
she has this very much party girl image. Having a
baby is going to change her life a lot, whether
she likes it or not, so it kind of you know,

(11:16):
as someone who has a baby now. I enjoyed listening
to it because I recall going through some of those
thoughts like fuck, what am I going to do? Like
this is going to be really different, and as you said,
sometimes you just want to hear the real discussions behind it.
I think one of the things that took me aback
was finding out just how far along Nicky is. So
she's twenty weeks pregnant. She's due in February, which means

(11:37):
that she's going to be around thirty plus weeks pregnant
at her live shows. It's crazy how quickly other people's
pregnancies go, Like when you're not the person that's pregnant, like, wow,
that has really flown by.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
I follow Beck Lomas and she posted something about, oh,
I'm giving birth an eight weeks time, and I was like, what,
you've eily just announced that you're pregnant. But when it's
you drags on and you're gonna ask me what I make.
I'm not too comfortable saying.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
What I make.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
If that's okay, that's fine.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
Kayla Zenas has given an insight into the depths of
her business empire. The fitness entrepreneur has long been touted
as one of Australia's richest influencers, and now we know why.
Funnily enough, this admission came during an interview on the
Get Ahead TikTok. For those not familiar with the account,
interviewers stop people on the street and ask them what
they do and how much money they make. Now, the

(12:28):
interviewer who spoke to Kaylor really played up that he
didn't know who she was. I mean, it's fairly obvious
that he did, and she went along with it. Let's
take a listen to some of what she said.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
What do you do? How much you make?

Speaker 4 (12:40):
I am most known for the Sweat app, which is
a women's training app. I also have a dog app
called dogg It, which is a dog training app for dogs.
I have most of real estate things like petrol stations,
medical centers, residential stuff and also getting into supplements as well,
so a lot of things.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
Now, a lot of people in the comment section were
surprised that Kayla's empire was now so diversified. Were you surprised, Amy,
I actually wasn't because so for my business has worked
with a company that was connected to Toby Pierce, and
I know he's got a lot of fingers in different
piles in terms of different businesses he works with, So
it doesn't surprise me that Kayla is also like that.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
I mean, well, they haven't been together for a long time,
and I think the surprise from people comes from the
fact that Toby has always been kind of touted as
the brains behind the business, and there's this untrue rhetoric
that's been pushed that Kayla was just along for the
ride and the face of the company, where it's clearly
not true. I think it also has a lot to
do with how Kayla has marketed herself until fairly recently,

(13:38):
because she's only just been doing podcast interviews on business podcasts,
and even then she still goes, oh, I'm just a
personal trainer, like that's my core business. Yeah, no, you're
actually a businesswoman. I think it's only now that she's
comfortable saying, yes, I am a very successful business woman.
Look at all of these ventures I've got going. I
think some of the ventures would surprise people, though, like

(13:59):
the that she's involved in commercial real estate, because petro
stations and medical centers they don't sound that exciting compared
to what she does with sweat.

Speaker 5 (14:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
I think with fitness influencers, we expect that they may
get a supplement brand, which Kayla is looking into. But
active weare a jim like those sorts of things we're
not really expecting. But it just shows that she is
doing the right things with her money, because I mean,
we actually don't know how much she is worth. She
did rank at number thirty four on the Australian Financial

(14:29):
Reviews Young Rich List last year, just behind Margot Robbie,
with an estimated net worth of one hundred and sixty
five million dollars, but again those are just based on guestaments.
I think she would be worth way more. One thing
I do like is that Kayla didn't actually say how
much she was worth in this interview. She said she
wasn't comfortable disclosing. How much. I love it. I love

(14:49):
how they interview as they always just happened to stumble
across these extremely famous people. Oh what are you doing?
Out walking Kyla just as they've got this shop perfeetly
set up to capture.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
I would be keeping that shit offline.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
Lucy Jackson and Nicki Wescott have seemingly poked fun at
the feud between Jackie Alexander and Gabby Sullivan. Now. It's
not the first time the Wild Ones have commented on
the friendship bust up. At the start of the year,
they dropped on their podcast that two of their friends
had unfollowed each other after being competitive over their weddings.
This led to speculation that Jackie and Gabby's friendship was over,

(15:29):
which was confirmed last week. Okay, can you tell us
more so? Lucy and Nicky uploaded this very amusing TikTok
and in it they danced to Destiny's Child's Survivor with
text on the screen that said the last standing best
friends on the Internet and they captured the video not
for the faint hearted hashtag no shade though, hashtag, but
for real now. Influencers were quick to comment. Cartia Milan wrote,

(15:52):
proud of you guys, the ogs Well, Indy Clinton added,
you know I only found out last week you guys
weren't twin sisters. Kind of got one point five thousand likes,
and Lucy replied, sorry, what and m Davies chimed in
ha ha.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
Now.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
A follower asked in the comments if they had ever
done a podcast about what is crucial for a long
standing friendship, and the girls replied, we just really like
each other. I can see why Indy Clinton might have
thought they were sisters because they do say it how
it is to each other. Yeah, they don't hold back.
They kind of look very similar to Like when I
watched the TikTok, I was like, oh, okay, I can
see it. You know, dark hair, both very slim. I mean,

(16:28):
the fact that they have different last names kind of
gives it away. Well, they could be married names, you know. Now.
Lucy backed up the TikTok by sharing more of her
thoughts on the topic. Let's take a listen to some
of what she said.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
Okay, guys, I have one thing to say, and that is,
if me and my best friend were having a falling out.
Let's say Nikki, for example, I would be keeping that
shit offline because she knows so much about me, she
could ruin my life in a matter of two seconds. Done,

(17:03):
I'd be done, exiled, and I also like love and
respect her, So if we ever did have a falling out,
I'd definitely like just be keeping my peeping it between
her and I. But all of these public best friend
falling out and stuff, I'm just like, fuck, you guys
are playing with fire. It's entertaining. I'm guessed for everyone

(17:25):
else for sure, but I would be.

Speaker 4 (17:29):
Fucking way too scared.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
This just made me think about our friendship, Amy, because
we're best friends, you, me and Sophie. We're also sisters,
so I feel like there's an added safety in it there.
But the fear I would have if we somehow had
some massive falling out and never spoke to each other again.
The dirt we have on each other, even from just
a personal level. Yeah, are you really best friends with
somebody if you don't have information that could destroy their life? Really? Yeah?

(17:54):
So I mean people really are playing with fire now.
M Davies weighed in on Lucy's post. She wrote, some
people need to take a leaf out of your book.
I reckon Sisso it was quite interesting because someone added
a comment saying that public friendship feuds are now just
the norm, and rather than talking privately with friends about
the fallout, people are now seeking validation online from strangers

(18:15):
and Lucy ended up responding to that comment with another TikTok,
and in the video, she conceded that influencers know what
they're doing when they publicize friendship bust ups. Let's take
a listen to some of what she said.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
People know that if they go online and share this stuff,
especially where there's another person involved that is in the
content community, you're going to gain a lot of traction.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Lucy then admitted that she thinks it's a content strategy
based on giving people what they want. Here's more of
what she said, while we live in.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
Now really is sickly like the more that you share,
and especially when it's traumatic, like it's negative, like it's hardships, breakups,
friendship blowing outs, what financial dramas like Those are the
kinds of things that you guys, as the viewers and
the listeners and as the followers or like the subscribers

(19:10):
or whatever, what to see and you want to hear
about that stuff.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
She then went on to say she understands why people
talk about it online, but she just personally couldn't do it.
She's got such a good point because it's like all
those American hype houses in the US, they create all
this fake drama in order to get new followers. Oh,
I think we're seeing it in Australia very much so
as well. Like it's not just American thing anymore. Everyone
knows to stay irrelevant online you need to have drama

(19:36):
around you. I mean, look at Australia's biggest influencer, Tammy Hembro.
Her life has been a series of dramatic events that
people love following along at home, and influencers are taking
note and they know that that's what we're interested in.
I mean, on our Subs episode, we were talking about
how Katia Milan were saying that she's sick of having
to try and perform and work with TikTok's algorithm when

(19:58):
it comes to content creation, and she said that she
just likes sharing her life organically online. She had the
best opportunity to get eyeballs on her content when she
had a friendship bust up with her podcast co host
and former best friend Ashton Wood. She needed to take
the opportunity with both hands. Early on, when we released
our podcast, we had beef with another podcast. I remember
we were freaking out, being like I just don't want

(20:19):
to be involved in this, and our younger cousin was like, no,
this is the best thing ever. This is what happens.
People have beef and then they find your podcast and
then they're gonna like it. I mean, obviously our podcast
were small at the time, and that is a way
to generate eyeballs towards you. But it is interesting when
there's two influencers, say Jackie Alexander and Gabby Sullivan, who
have an equal kind of standing in the influencer space.

(20:41):
They've got a similar amount of followers on Instagram and TikTok,
and you know, you look at them and you're like, oh, well,
they don't really need the extra followers, but they do
need the engagement because they're now competing with these algorithms,
and in order to get your content viewed, you have
to have a lot of comments on videos, you have
to have a lot of likes, a lot of send ons.
And you can see it. Jackie Alexander made that TikTok

(21:02):
where she threw shade at Gabby Sullivan that got everyone talking.
Gabby Sullivan's gone back and done her own one, and
then every video that Jackie has subsequently shared, people like,
give us the tea. We want to know more. You know,
you stoke the flames and you build that interest in
what's going on in your life. When I was watching
Lucy's video, I was thinking to myself, is she going
to address the elephant in the room because she called

(21:24):
out her ex boyfriend publicly on TikTok for cheating on her. Well,
it was kind of two elephants in the room because
she also had a friendship fallout with fellow influencer Lily Brown. Yes,
they weren't best friends, but they were in you know,
a friendship circle together and I'm glad hats off to her.
She explained in terms of the ex that she's an
oversharer and in that situation, she decided that she was

(21:45):
going to use her as content because she knew that
they were never getting back together. And she also revealed
that it ended up working very well as a content
piece because her breakup episode is still her and Nikki's
highest downloaded episode by a mile. She said in terms
of her friendship break down with the Lie Brown, this
is what she said.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
I've had a falling out with a friend online. You know,
Nicky and I had a falling out with Lil a
few years ago, and like Nick and I made a
very very strong decision that we weren't going to speak
about that, and if we were, it was going to
be only very matter of fact and just pretty much
we were never going to go on and say nasty
things about our old friends. And thank gosh, because now

(22:27):
years down the truck, it's less left space for us
to you know, reconcile and still be really friendly. And
now it's so nice because we get to be at
the same places and still you know, love seeing her
happy days.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
It's not like burnt.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
Bridges, burnt bridges, burnt bridges, burnt bridges. But I don't know,
I don't know. It is a weird time, guys. It's
very black mirror sometimes. Like I think the world of
social media and content creation can kind of be a
little bit like reality TV. How there's like producers who
go in and like, I don't think there's fake drama,

(23:00):
Like I don't think there's anything that is an actually
factual drama. But I think there's a lot of things
that then become bigger dramas because it gains views and
traction and follows and blah blah, blahlah.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
It's interesting that they're putting this content out there now
because I thought that they were both friends with Jackie
and Gabby. Yeah, I was wondering how deep their friendship
was because I've seen it bandied around. Oh, you know,
they're friends. I did some research and I know that
Jackie appeared on an episode of the Happy Hour podcast
back in twenty twenty, and I listened to a little
bit of it, and it seemed like they were kind
of friends in the sense of they've been to events together,

(23:34):
they know of each other, they follow each other. But
I don't think it's that deep. Let's get into our
Friday debrief and Amy. We are in late September, which
means it's officially time to start celebrating Christmas. Conn On's
Christmas campaign has been out for a couple of weeks now.
I can't believe we didn't even talk about it. Martha
Califatitas's family are the face of it this year, Yeah,
because last year was Indy Clinton and her family. I

(23:56):
actually liked Indie's range better, like we bought them, we
rushed out. I'm a big fan of them this year.
I just don't think you can start celebrating Christmas until
Halloween's over, and I've been trying to encourage you and
Sophie to go and get your Halloween costumes organized because
I want to have a small party here. Look, I'm
not going to put my tree up until November, but
I am going to get excited about it, and I've
already started planning Jack's December first box. I thought you

(24:17):
were the biggest saddoh last year making this box, and
you're part of some Facebook group with all these mums
talking about Christmas as a bad Yeah, I did join it,
but now I'm totally into it. I'm trying to think
what am I going to put in Harry's book. It's
so much fun and something arrived for the box that
I was so excited about. So our parents always read
us this particular Night before Christmas book and it's so cute.

(24:39):
It's like a lift the flat book and at the
end it has a pop up of Santa in his
sleigh with all of the reindeers. And I had to
search far and wide online for this. Someone was selling
the book for five hundred dollars and I was like,
I am not paying five hundred dollars. I then found
it on eBay for like seven US dollars. Anyway, after
all the conversions and postage, it cost me like thirty

(24:59):
eight dollars. It took four weeks to get here. When
it arrived, I was like, oh my god, I'm so excited,
but I was nervous because it said like in good condition.
I mean, this book is thirty years old. And I
was slipping through the pages and I was so smug.
I was like, oh my god, the lift the flaps
are perfect mint condition. I got to the last page
and opened it. No pop up. It's just been completely rich.

(25:21):
You sent me this snapchatow it was just like two
empty white pages, Like this is arguably the best part
of the book. This is the whole story line is
building up to this pop up of Santa's sleigh, and
it's just gone. I would have complained, have you messaged
the person on eBay? No, I haven't yet, But I
thought maybe some outspoken listeners could help me because I'm like,

(25:41):
I'm just going to add my own pop up at
the end page. Shit, we need to take a photo
and put it on Instagram. What the actual pop up
should look like, because this is the most disappointing thing.

Speaker 5 (25:50):
Ever.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Yeah, talking about Christmas books, this is a recommendation for
parents as well as big kids at heart because before
I had Harry, I actually brought a book from the
comedians behind Auntie Donna. So they've got a book called
Always Room for Christmas Pull and it was after that
viral video they did of them eating Christmas pudding and vomiting.
It is the best book. I find myself reading it

(26:12):
every night. To Harry, I don't have it. Oh, it's
so beautifully illustrated. I have a Christmas pullet long maybe
a little bit of pud. Then I'm coming to you
with a recommendation this Friday, and it is to watch
Sophie Jane Miller's Hendo Retreat vlog. True, this is the
craziest thing. So she is a Brisbane influencer and Amy,

(26:35):
I think Sophie, along with her friends Rachel and Georgia,
are your number one influencers to follow up. You love
their vlogs. They're my relaxing people to watch your comfort YouTube.
For YouTube, that's a great term. They definitely are and
I enjoyed every minute of this twenty seven minute log.
So Sophie obviously took viewers along for her Hen's party

(26:56):
and her friends went above and beyond so pulled their fingers. Yeah,
they were away for like two nights at this absolutely
incredible accommodation. There was like a pul, a sauna, a gym,
and the theme was a brand event. Well it was
called Tripping with SOF and Georgia Richards and her dad
made all of the merch, the t shirts. They even

(27:16):
branded up water bottles. I loved the logo. It was
really cool. Well, Sophie's friend Rachel, she was a real
MVP on this trip because her and Sophie's manager, Laying,
they did all the groundwork, putting most of the stuff together,
like it was absolutely incredible. They even had cameras that
had specific decals on them that had Tripping with SOF,
Like they had to peel little or they had to

(27:37):
individually cut out all these stickers. Thank god they had
one of those cricket machines. Not to mention the fact
that they obviously set up a lot of brand deals
because everyone on the trip got new Lulu LeMans and
Sophie's recently been working with the brand, so it's pretty
clever because the whole thing really was like an influencer event.
They had yoga in the morning, they had all these
different events on at the Hens do that required them

(27:59):
to be wearing different clothing And I wonder if we're
going to see more of this where Browns just piggyback
on the back of people's Hens parties. It did make
it feel a lot more organic. I mean, it'd be
interesting to know how they actually use the partnership money,
like does Sophie get paid it or did they put
the money towards the trip. I think it was gifted stuff.
I think it was all gifted. My favorite part of
the vlog though, was when Sophie gave viewers a bit

(28:21):
of a reality check and basically she got a bit
of ibs at the end of the of the night.
And I like that she shared that because it kind
of made it a bit more real because everything was
so like glamorous, and it made me feel nostalgic watching
it back, because my Hen's party was nearly three years ago. Now,
if you can believe, that just made me wish I'd
gone away. That's so and I were both saying, Oh,

(28:42):
we wish we'd gone away for our Hens rather than
just doing a one night thing. Well, I went away
from mine and it was really good, And I think
that's why you guys were like, oh, I feel like
we're asking too much of people, but everyone wants an
excuse to go on a girl's trip. Well, after seeing
this vlog, I was like, wow, we really weren't asking
that much of our friends to come along, no for
one night somewhere.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
All I just wanted to know was like, how much
should everyone chip in? Because that house was incredible? Well,
that could have been sponsored to lang. If you are
listening to the podcast, this is the girl's manager, let
us know we're very nosy. Well, also, I just wonder
how it works because, as we said, Sophie Jane Miller
already has a long standing partnership with Lulu Lemon, So
her manager and her friends going oh, can you give

(29:21):
us some free aligned tights to wear on the trip,
and then Sophie's going to feature them in her vog.
Does Sophie then be like, well, usually i'd get a
bit of a kickback for that, or she just happy
to go like, I just wonder how that all works. Yeah, well,
I think because it's a long standing partnership, it works.
In everyone's favor. Yeah, well that is where we're going
to leave things today. If you do want to hear
more from us, we drop a subscriber only episode every Thursday.

(29:45):
This week we spoke about how Molly May has been
absolutely copying it over the fact that her docuseries was
awarded the best authored documentary in the UK. We also
had a bit more Love Island Goss. We were talking
about Millie and Liam from series seven, their big breakup
or rumored breakup. I should say people are really worried
about what's going to happen to their podcast. You included

(30:07):
Amy kaus you're a big fan of it. It's a
huge podcast in the UK. And we also spoke about
har Kati Milan is fed up with the influencer space.
She feels like everyone is asking too much of her.
We really got into that one to be Yeah, make
sure you go listen to that. If you're a subscriber
