Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hello, and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
Kay Torba and coming up on today's show as she
Binds abruptly cancels her podcast tour and Tammy Hembro and
the Brownlow Snub. But first, after seven years together, Sky
Wheatley and baby Daddy Lockie war have called it quits.
(00:25):
The former by brother star made the admission during an
Instagram live Now so for Sky appeared to be quite
intoxicated throughout the live. Yeah, it seemed like she had
had quite a bit to drink when she jumped on
the live. She is currently holidaying at an Airbnb on
the Sunshine Coast with her two kids, Forest and Bear,
and Lockie has been notably absent from the trip now.
For weeks, speculation has been growing that Sky and Locke
(00:48):
are no longer together, but nothing had been confirmed until now.
And these sort of breakup rumors have plagued the couple
for years now. Often they'll go often Lockie will be
mia from Sky's socials and then appear again, and they
don't really discuss what's happened. I mean they sort of
touched on the fact that they.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Went on a break a while ago.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
I think a lot of the speculation also comes from
the fact that they're very honest about their relationship.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
They air a.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Lot of their arguments which they've been having through their
renovation process of their house, which has been going on
for a very long time now. Now. Sky confirmed the
split during this live, and she responded to a follower
who asked if Locke had cheated on her. She said,
I don't know, maybe now. Finally enough, it was actually
her sister, Kayla, who went into bat for Locke in
(01:34):
the comment section, saying, from a sister's point of view,
looking into their relationship, I don't think Lockie would cheat.
I think we probably have to take Sky's comment with
a grain of salt, because, as you mentioned, Sophie, she
did appear to be quite intoxicated during the live, so
you know, she might just be saying, well, who knows. Yeah, Well,
as soon as I heard this news, all I could
(01:54):
think about again was their house, because they've been renovating
it for about six years now. It's this Rundown mansion
that they got for a really good price, and they
seem to be quite close to finishing it now. It's
this incredible property. I mean, I've been invested for years
now in this process that I'll be really disappointed if
they don't finish her well. Sky confirmed in this live
(02:15):
that they're both going to continue with the renovations. I mean,
I don't know how that would work. They need to
get a reality TV crew down their asack. Yeah, I
was going to say, as long as she keeps filming
the vlogs and includes Lockie, it should be some entertaining vision.
I think her viewership will go up. Lockie has also
taken a bit of swipe at Sky, so on Tuesday,
he uploaded a screenshot of Sky taking part in a
(02:37):
TikTok live with two creators called Wise Gentlemen and Ryan J. Stewart.
The video was captioned Wise Gentlemen and Ryan J. Stewart
chat up Sky, Wheatley, and Lockie captioned the story classic
doesn't take long with three laughing face emojis. Some people
think this is his way of confirming the split, but
as someone who has followed Locke for quite some time now,
(03:00):
I just think it was a joke. Like I think
it's a piss take. Remember the whole was it sauna
and sausages things.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
I'm hilarious.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
I really hope that if they are broken up that
some good comes from it, and he does go a
bit rogue on his socials. And because he was doing
that whilst he was saying at his parents' house, his
parents seem to be quite wealthy. I'm a big fan
of Lockie. He's an absolute crag up. Despite all of
the controversy Sky has been involved in, I can't help
but have a soft spot for both her and Locke
because they are just so entertaining. The thing that is
(03:27):
quite confusing about this breakup is that just two weeks ago,
Sky was trying to water down the rumors and avoid
answering any questions, so she put up a Q and A,
and of course everyone kept inundating her with questions about
whether she and Locke were still together. One follower wrote,
but the question everyone wants to ask you won't answer,
(03:48):
But I do hope you're okay, and she responded saying,
believe it or not, I actually do have a personal
life outside of Instagram and some things I do keep
to myself. Gotten better at this with age. I'm deafly
always an oversharer, but some things are better left unsaid,
but thank.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
You, my love.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
I am okay. Some days I'm not, but that's all
part of the journey. The photo she chose to upload
with this answer was a very wholesome shot of her
on a swing with one of her sons, and it
was taken from behind. It was sort of a nonchalant photo,
but it looked like she was thinking about things. Well,
the picture paints a thousand words, and I think we
can read between the lines, and she was saying, Oh,
(04:25):
I've been parenting by myself. Yeah. Well, presumably she received
a lot more questions about the state of their relationship
because she finally responded with acute family selfie, and in
it she unlockie were pulling funny faces, and she wrote
everything you read on the Daily Mail is always one
hundred percent true.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
They are a very reputable.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Source, especially when it comes to my life with laughing
face emojis. She then pointed out this is sarcasm and continued,
I can't imagine how actual famous people deal with all
of the online shit that gets written said about them.
It's actually wild. God, I'm scared for my children's future.
I've been thinking lately, I'm so unsure if I want
to keep posting them, but I love sharing my life
(05:04):
with you guys. It's just worrying as a mother. I
hope my online presence doesn't affect my kids. Yeah, that
seems to be a common worry online at the moment.
I think these updates just reflect how turbulent their relationship is, though,
because they seem to be a couple that get back
together and then break up and get back together again,
like it's been happening throughout their whole relationship. So I
(05:25):
wouldn't be surprised if they do get back together.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
In a couple of weeks time.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
While it was actually a post from her good friend Tory,
which got tongues wagging even further because she uploaded a
TikTok appearing to throw some shade at Lockie. So she
wrote when you're a girl's girl, So now I've got
more beef with her ex than she ever did, and
then in the caption she wrote, he really thought he
could talk to her crazy, but forgot her besties from
(05:49):
the West and I don't let shit slide. She then
hashtagged it break up humor now. Sky even replied in
the comment section, writing that's my girl. That's not a
good sign.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
It was quite.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Confusing though, because Torri also jumped on Alive recently and
she said, oh oh, Locke and Sky are still together.
So again, as you say, I think it is just
painting a picture of how turbulent this relationship really is.
I mean, I want what's best for everyone involved, but
I personally hope they get back together. I mean, I'm
still obsessed with that video that they put up of
a Mcdonald'smuok Bung at home and they had this massive
(06:24):
fight over the sweet and sour source because it wasn't
put in the bag and apparently it was like Lockey's
fault because he didn't double check. It's they always forget
the sweet and sour source.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
I don't know what.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
It is with that. One thing that made me think
perhaps they weren't endgame is that we've never had a proposal.
Even though Sky had a sponsorship deal with a ring
brand and she kept uploading potential engagement rings. Lockie has
never got down on one knee, and I wonder if
he was a bit hesitant to do so. But he's
had two children with her. I mean, I would say
that that sort of bonds them for life.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
A lot more than an engageable.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Well, and they've got the house together. But I mean,
it's quite interesting to think that they were only together
for a couple of months when I found out she
was pregnant with Forest.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Do you remember our other boyfriend beforehand? Cam? Oh, he
was a douchebag. Yeah. I think Lockie was a definite upgrade.
But yeah, I think they've always seemed to clash a bit.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
So No, Tammy, who are you taken? I'm taking my
Juty two.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Coach Tammy Hembro was a notable absentee from the Brownlow
Red carpet on Monday Night, despite going Instagram official with
AFL player Bailey Smith. Ever since the couple were papped
together in August, rumors have been swirling that Australia's biggest
influencer would steal the show at footy's night of Nights. However,
(07:36):
days leading into the Brownlow reports emerged that things had
cooled off.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Between the pair Gate.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Now, of course, those reports coincided with Bailey's team Geelong
getting into the Grand Final. Reading between the lines, it
seems like Bailey has been advised by his footy club
to squash the relationship with Tammy for now and focus
on football, or at least appear uki squashing things. And
I mean that all makes sense to me. But what
I've found really confusing as a form of sports media
(08:04):
manager is why Geelong's media manager would allow Bailey to
be interviewed before the Brownlow on the Kyl and Jackie oshow,
because obviously the focus of the interview was going to
be Tammy. All that appearance has done is actually create
more headlines and distractions. Yeah, but maybe they saw it
as an opportunity for him to say, Hey, I'm not
with her, She's not attending the Brownlow.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Everyone can calm down.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Well, it got me thinking, Bailiff Smith he is a
brand in himself, so he actually has more Instagram followers
than Gelong Football Club. He's got four hundred and three
thousand followers while Geelong has two hundred and seventy one thousand.
So I wonder if he's just too big now for
the club, like he doesn't have to abide by the
club rules and his manager possibly set this interview up.
(08:46):
I don't think Bailey Smith really gives a fuck when
anyone tells him to do. I think he just does
what he wants to do. But I think it's clear
that he has been told by his coach that he
needs to focus on footage. Yeah, rein it in a
little bit now. We spoke about the interview briefly on
Tuesday show, but I want to go more into it
now that we have the time, Kate to refresh everyone's memories.
This is how Bailey broke the news that he wouldn't
(09:09):
be taking Tammy to the Brown low A.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
You're taking Tammy tonight or no, I'm not. No, I
didn't want to bore her with footy all night. So yeah,
she's not a big footy fan. And they were just mates.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
So you guys are like exclusive or boyfriend girl.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
We're just just mate. Loves the exclusivity and I said,
I do love relationships.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Bailey went on to say that he was taking his
jiu jitsu coach, who is one of his best mates.
How random is that he also said his mate would
be getting blind all night and was planning on having.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
A big one.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
My blood absolutely boiled for Tammy when he kept referring
to her as a mate. Like what an absolute slap
in the face. I mean, do you take your mate
Sophie to romantic restaurants and pose the photos with your
hand on their knee. Well, no, I don't really have
any male mates that I would get. I mean, do
you make out with them in bars?
Speaker 2 (10:12):
And definitely not? If so, like the whole.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Mate things like yeah, okay, like whatever, like we're not stupid.
I mean the thing I think I find most offensive
is by putting the term mate on it. It kind
of sounds like fuck buddies. Yeah, I mean, or, as
we touched on on Tuesday Show, that they were only
doing it to make Mattzakowski jealous and to get attention. Yeah. Well,
Jackie O was just as confused as the rest of
us and asked Bailey if he was a relationship type
(10:37):
of guy or just likes to keep things casual, and
Bailey admitted he was a relationship guy up until a
year and a half ago, but said he is now
single and enjoying it. He did concede, though, that he's
keen for a missus eventually.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Well, isn't that such footy speak and missus?
Speaker 1 (10:53):
It makes me feel sick. Yeah, I hate it if
my partner ever refers to me as his missus or
the misses. I think that's even more offense here. Yeah. Well,
in terms of his relationship timeline, his last girlfriend was
Jemma Dawkins and they kept their relationship pretty low key.
They didn't post much online together. They attended the Grand
Prix and Derby Day together, but that was kind of it.
(11:15):
Those were the only photos that we saw of them.
So it seems like this is the relationship that's made
him want to be single for a while. For guys,
it's always this one girl that sort of ruins them
for everyone else. They need that time off to be
a dickhead and get over the I don't think we
should be blaming Gemma.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Oh, not that as her fault.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
No, I'm just saying, but there always seems to be
that one girl that either got away or it's an
excuse for them. I mean, we need to remember that
Bailey Smith is only twenty.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Four years old.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Actually, lose my mind. It freaks me out now. Kyle
jumped in after Jackie O's comments and asked if Bailey's
Tinder ambassador role involved going on lots of dates. And
this is what Bailey said.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
I go on a few dates. Don't mind that, but yeah,
I don't know. I'm out trying to find a missus,
that's for sure, but not not actively searching. I just
want to win, win Saturday, and then we'll see how
are we going.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Now?
Speaker 1 (12:06):
To me, that last bit confirms that this whole cooling
down of the relationship with Tammy is all to do
with footy, and I think it will be back on
with Tammy after the Grand Final. I don't necessarily think
it is going to be all back on with Tammy.
I think that things were pretty casual and it's just
a rebound for me. I think if this was legit,
she might have made a few potshots online already about it.
(12:28):
So your theory is that they're still dating. That's why
she hasn't been throwing any shade at him on TikTok,
because she's like, oh, I better respect that this is
his work and his profession. I mean, I think it's
clearly that we've got to understand how serious a Grand
Final campaign is. Like he would have been sat down
by his coaching staff and said, you need to focus
on footy. You can't be going out on all his
(12:49):
public dates with Tammy. Hembro having paparazzi following you about
posting all this shit on social media. He hasn't been
very brave speaking publicly about his mental health and how
doing his ACL really brought him to a dark place,
and a couple of days ago he shared an Instagram
showing his rehab and him getting back into footy and
talking about how huge it is that he's now playing
(13:10):
in a Grand final. And you know, as you said, Kate,
no one can question how big this is in an
AFL player's life. This isn't Bailey's first Grand final. So
when he was playing for the Western Bulldogs, he played
in the twenty twenty one Grand Final and they lost,
so it's probably made him hungrier for the win this weekend.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Getting back to.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
This interview, it was quite funny because they had callers
ring in with questions and one asked this so quick
question regarding you and Tammy, who reached out to did.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
You fight in her?
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Did you sighte in her?
Speaker 3 (13:42):
Inbox on insol?
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Like?
Speaker 2 (13:44):
How did it work?
Speaker 3 (13:45):
So that's a good question because a lot of us
want to.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Know, Yeah, how'd that come to be?
Speaker 3 (13:49):
How that box live? I knew you we could go
no flid in her?
Speaker 2 (13:58):
And what did you say?
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Yay?
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Yay, yay, Nah.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Nothing. We don't want him to give away We don't
want him to give away his you know all the
gold here. Were you surprised that he slid into her DMS?
It did surprise me, But then again, I've got to
remind myself that I don't have the brain of a
twenty four year old man. Think with your penis, no,
Because if I heard that someone I was interested in
was going through a divorce, I'd probably steer clear of
(14:24):
them for a couple of months at least. Doesn't that
show his intentions from there? Like obviously a bit of
a rebound. I mean, I was surprised, but then when
I heard him speak more about his DMS, it sort
of made more sense because he said he doesn't actually
look at his DMS and that he gets so many
unsolicited dick picks all the time from men. Wow, it
appears that Bailey and Tammy's ex husband Matt Zakowski have
(14:48):
more things in common than we thought, because we have,
of course learned now that Bailey does jiu jitsu and boxing,
and he said that he wants to do an MMA fight.
So could we get Matt Zakowski and Bailey Smith in
the ring. Can we host it? We can do a
little podcast live from down there. Wouldn't that be funny?
Oh my god, it would be excellent fighting for Tammy's love,
(15:09):
Like this is very reminiscent of Jordan Simmy fighting for
Sammy Robinson.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
Oh can you imagine the views on YouTube?
Speaker 1 (15:16):
I just put on a lot of money. Lads, if
you're listening to the podcast, reach out. We're happy to
organize it. Now over to Camp Tammy. We have touched
on how she's trying to play it pretty cool and
as though she doesn't care about this Brownlow snub, even
though I feel like she would be dying inside and
slightly and but particularly spending all that time at her
sister skin clinic leading into the event, dropping that you
(15:36):
had this big event on and then we've seen no
said big event.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Now.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
Over the weekend, she holidayed in Byron Bay with her kids,
who are on school holidays. At the moment, she appeared
to be there with her best friend, Isabelle Laws. I
would love to know if this trip was pre booked
or booked after she got the news about the brown Low.
It kind of gave me the vibe it's something that
you're like, oh my god, I'm so disappointed that I
don't get to go to this event that we've got
to book something in to make up for it, or
(16:02):
it was a cover because it's like I've always had
this trip planned. I was never going to the Brownlow Medal. Yeah,
that is true. I mean it's very clever. As someone
who grew up as a footy fan, whenever I used
to watch the Brownlow as a young girl, I always
used to feel that like, oh, I wish I could
go like burning feeling. Imagine actually dating one of the
players and not being invited, like the absolutely burned. Well,
they've only been.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Dating for a few weeks.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
I feel like most of the wives and girlfriends have
to be around for potentially a year before getting the invite.
That's usually how these footy guys work. I feel like
the Brownlow is such a difficult event for footy players
to navigate because there'd be so many of them dating
multiple women. I mean, just look at Travis Boke side note.
It's quite interesting because he kind of fits into this
(16:43):
whole space because he is good friends with Matt Paul.
Matt Paul went over to Adelaide to watch Travis Boke's
last game. I was like, how do they know each other?
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Is it through Iron Man?
Speaker 1 (16:53):
Yeah, well I think Travis is into all of that
sort of stuff, so potentially. But anyway, Travis Boke is
known for being well the most eligible bachelor in Adelaide.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
I mean he's a very good looking guy and he
has barely ever taken a date to any of these
footy functions. They always bring their mom and look like
the nice guy, but their mom there a sister, not
because they've been tuning all these other girls kind of scenes.
But then on his final best and Fair Support he
bought his girlfriend. Yeah, it's kind of like, well, I
hung up the boots, I'm retired.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
Now here's my girl.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Before we wrap this up, we have to talk about
what Bailey Smith wore on the Red Car. But he
was wearing a pair of speed Dealers sonnies. I was
almost relieved for Tammy that she didn't have to stand
next to that, because it was very embarrassing. It's kind
of that tripe where it seems like young men these
days and I say that sounding so old at thirty six,
(17:47):
but it seems like they're trying to make themselves look.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
The ugliest as possible.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
Like I was watching, I'm like, well, their haircuts look
so fun Well, he with the sideburns. It reminds me
of the Simpsons when it's lack of sight, That's what
I'm It's like when mister Burns, like, get rid of
the sideburns, Strawberry, Yeah, and he gets rid of the
whole thing. Because it's like, I don't even have any
side burns. I have to say, I'm not a fan
of an all black ensemble. Like I hated the fact
that the shirt was black, the jacket was black, the
(18:13):
tie was black. He's a very good looking man. Like
the thing is, he's still pulled it off. I had
to wear something different, didn't he. It's a whole gen
z thing. It was funny because I heard that's all
these memes where he's like, everyone stopped talking about me,
the media, get off my back, and then rocks up
with these stupid sunglasses on. That's just going to get
all his attention. I mean. Also the photos that he
(18:33):
was posting beforehand, if him like lying on one of
the beds at Crown, Oh, it's just all a bit
of a up, isn't it. Did you notice he posed
alongside the AFL CEO Andrew Dillon. And it was only
a few weeks ago that Andrew Dillon was making cracks
at a Geelong event about Tommy Hamburg coming to the
Brown Low. I've got some new clothes that left you
a tryan hale as She Bynes has announced she's expanding
(18:56):
her podcast team despite abruptly canceling her podcast live tour.
The og fitness influencer advertised for the position across her
social media channels, but the job description left people shocked.
Before we get into that, Okay, can you tell us
more about Ashi's podcast? So as she co hosts her
self improvement podcast called She Rises alongside her latest best friend,
(19:18):
Tiana Bundelow. They released four episodes a week and back
in May announced that they would be hosting retreats in
Bali for listeners now as She was forced to relaunch
the podcast under a new name at the start of
this year after a public friendship breakdown with her co
host Kiara Doro. At the time, followers speculated that Kiara
(19:38):
had been gagged, but she actually ended up dropping a
few details about what went down. Riating between the lines,
it seems like Ashi put a lot of pressure on
Kiara when it came to the podcast. So Kiara said
the podcast was meant to be a bit of a
fun side project, but as she took it way more seriously.
Kiara even labeled her friendship with Ashy full on. So
(19:58):
when ash promoted that she she was expanding the podcast team,
people started speculating that her co host Tiana must also
be struggling with the workload. Listeners have been picking up
on a bit of a vibe that Tiana has been
left to do the majority of the heavy lifting with
this podcast, and that seemed to be confirmed when both
Ashy and Tiana shared on social media what their roles
(20:19):
were for the podcast, and Tiana definitely takes care of
the majority of the back end work, from the finances
to the editing. Oh my god, what about when Ashy
claimed that she couldn't do the more technical edits because
her fingers were chubbier than Tiana, she suually can't really
zoom in. As for what ash does, she said she
prints off the script and sticks them onto card and
also uploads the tiktoks and sends out a newsletter. In
(20:43):
terms of actually coming up with the content, I got
a little bit confused because as she was like, oh, yeah,
you're much better at structured Tiana. You come up with
the structure and then I go in there and sort
of add the content. But it kind of seems to
me that Tiana comes up with the idea of the
episode and then Ash will sort of write a few
little dot points underneath headlines. It is a lot of
(21:03):
content for Tiana to come up with, because, as you
touched on Kate, they release four episodes a week. That
is a big effort and I found it pretty fascinating
learning more about behind the scenes of their podcast because
they actually bulk record all of those episodes. So once
a month, they drive from the Gold Coast up to Brisbane,
they book in a recording studio, they stay there overnight
(21:23):
and they record sixteen episodes. Now getting back to this
job advertisement, as she wrote on Instagram that they're looking
for an assistant role, so they want someone to work
five to six plus hours a week and they said
that there's.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
Potential growth in the role.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
She wrote, We're looking for a high vibe, creative, ridiculously organized,
and self led assistant to join the she Risers team.
This role starts at around five hours a week, with
opportunity to expand into more hours as the brand continues
to grow. We're looking for someone who can keep up
with the rapid growth and stay organized when it comes
(21:58):
to our project planning and evolving brand. This is a
flexible work from home role with the potential for in
office work in the future. Could it be more clear
that chat GPT wrote that job advertisement now despite saying
that they wanted someone to work five to six hours
a week, the list of responsibilities was so big that
they had to divide it into weekly and monthly tasks.
(22:20):
Let's run through them.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
So.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
They want someone to upload podcast snippets to TikTok and
Instagram three times a day on each platform. Write captions
for all of the uploads. Set up many chat keyword automatics,
manage customer care for retreats, manage she Rises Instagram dms,
manage customer service for the she Rises subscription, reach out
(22:43):
to potential podcast guests, sent out weekly newsletter, brainstorm creative
content ideas, plan and organize trending weekly content in Google
Docs now. As for the monthly responsibilities, they included project
planning and organizing brand initiatives, printing and preparing speaking point
cards for filming as she's obviously fed up doing that,
(23:04):
assistant photo shoots, run Errand's when required, track monthly revenue,
follow up invoices and subscriptions for retreats, and provide ongoing customer.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
Service for she Rises retreat.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
So there's an awful lot on someone's plate for someone
who works five to six hours a week. I mean,
I'm sorry, that is a full time gig. Like, I
don't understand how that is being advertised as five to
six hours a week. That is absolutely ridiculous. Well, they
obviously didn't have trouble finding someone because on Wednesday, Ashi
and Tiana announce that they'd interviewed their first PA. They
tease their audience that it was someone they may already know,
(23:37):
and hours later they confirmed that they had hired her.
I love that they hire the first person they interviewed,
Like to me, the fact that it was someone they
know makes it sound like no one actually applied for
the job. So they had to go in house and
go you know, because as she's got an other business Hideaway,
I'm guessing that someone from the Hideaway team. It's interesting
because from the outside, it looks like this podcast is
absolutely flourishing since the rebrand, and when as she announced
(24:01):
the rebrand, she made it very clear that this podcast
is a top priority of hers, and in terms of
success on the charts, last month, the podcast ranked number
two hundred and eighty five with twenty one thousand monthly
listeners and forty six thousand downloads across twenty three episodes,
So that means roughly each episode is averaging around two
thousand downloads. Well, not to shit on anyone, but that's
(24:24):
actually not very much considering the large Instagram following that
she has, And it's quite clear why their strategy is
to release four episodes a week, because they're trying to
bolster up their total download numbers. Yeah, I mean that
was obvious to me looking at it as well. And again,
i mean, two thousand downloads is good for a podcast,
but not when you have, you know, a million followers
(24:45):
on Instagram. Like, it's quite clear that your followers aren't
listening to your podcast. It's good for a startup podcast
of people who have no profile whatsoever, but yeah, for
someone of her status, that's pretty disappointing. Yeah, I mean,
it's quite clear that they're very focused on creating revenue.
From their podcast. They have ads running on it, so
they would be creating some revenue through the ad stream,
(25:06):
but they've also now set up this additional revenue stream
of the retreats. So they announced that they sold out
of their May twenty twenty six retreats in eight hours.
I was like, oh, wow, that's a lot. But then
to put that into perspective, there are only twenty four
spots available on the trip. Yeah, but this is what
all influencers do. We've sold out of everything, but we
have very limited spots. Yeah. It was weird because then
(25:27):
they launched this other retreat for September twenty twenty six
off the back of selling out, and they kept claiming,
oh but we've got hundreds of people in the waiting list.
But then the way it was set up was so
unprofessional because people had to DM them saying that they
were interested, and then they sent them the brochure with
the details and then they were like, oh, but you
(25:48):
can pay for it in full, or we can do
a payment plan, but we have to get back to
our hotel in Balley because they were over in Bally
to do that, like it was just it was just
so unprofessional. I was like, you can't run a bussiness
like that. Well, another sign that things aren't going so
well for this podcast comes down to their live tour.
So they have been spooking since the start of the
(26:08):
year that they are holding live tours around the country,
and in late April they announced this tour and claimed
they had already sold out of VIP tickets and general
admissions were flying off the shelves.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
So when I was doing research for this topic, I
was like, oh, I didn't even know they had a
live show on And I clicked on the link that
they provided in one of their highlighted Instagram stories and
it came up with like an error, and I was like, oh,
that's weird. So I started googling and I came across
a ticket page and to my surprise, it was listed
as canceled. So on the page it said, due to
(26:40):
unforeseen circumstances, she Rises Live with Ashy and Tiana has
unfortunately been canceled. Affected ticket holders will receive an email
advising of the cancelation and next steps. Please check your
inbox and spam junk folders. Well, there's a job for
the assists and please email a handful of people who
have secured tickets to your life show, please give them
their money back now. This led me to do some
(27:02):
further digging because I was like, oh, surely Ash and
Tiana have publicly announced that this tour was canceled somewhere,
and I spent ages trawling through the she Risers Instagram account.
In the end, I ended up putting a call out
on Outspoken's Facebook community asking if anyone had heard anything. Now.
Everyone was like, Oh, I wonder if it's another friendship
bust up now. Off the back of my post in
(27:23):
the Facebook community, the news spread to Tattle Life and
someone ended up sharing a message that Tiana sent them
about the live show, so she wrote, that's right. Unfortunately,
we made the decision to pause she Risers Live. We
were navigating a lot of changes slash difficulties with getting
this event up and running, and it just felt extremely forceful.
(27:43):
It wasn't lining up in the way we originally wanted
it to when we first launched. We tossed up for
a long time with this decision because we only ever
wanted to deliver the best experience for you, ladies, and
with venue issues and some internal challenges, we just decided
to pause it until we can deliver one hundred percent.
Refunds were the easiest way we could support all the
women who bought tickets instead of giving credits and leaving
(28:05):
it open ended, etc. But we are building something right
now that we know you'll love. Thank you for understanding,
and we're excited for the day we can get up
on the stage and have you join us. Look, I
don't mean to be that person, but it's quite clear
that they just didn't get the numbers. Yeah, I mean,
it's nothing to do with the venue going through. I
just find it very unprofessional that they didn't publicly announce
(28:26):
that this tour wasn't happening, like if there was a
legitimate reason, like oh, we're having issues because the venue
is not big enough to hold everyone, or you know,
because they claimed they had sold out of VIP tickets
and you know the other tickets were selling like hotcakes.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
Well, if you are.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
A die hard fan of this podcast, you're buying the
VIP tickets. So maybe they thought, wow, those have sold
so quickly, there's going to be an outpouring of interest
in our general admission tickets. But there just wasn't. I mean, yeah,
it seems pretty obvious that there were a lack of
ticket sales. But I think if you really care about
the community that you're building, and there were people that
bought tickets, you need to publicly address it and say, look,
(29:02):
I'm sorry, we're actually rescheduling the show, like just say
that there's a schedule class or something. It's because they
don't want to go into the real reason that they're
canceling this tour.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
So they would rather hide it. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
I mean in that message, Tiana dropped that they're bringing
something else out and they have been teasing it, which
was giving me flashbacks to when Kiara and Ash were
teasing a product and then suddenly there was radio silence
and they were no longer friends nor hosting the podcast together.
So I'm wondering if this product will ever see the
light of day. A lot of people were guessing what
it was in the comments section. They have revealed it's
(29:35):
not a dildo, which was one of the guesses, and
then a couple of other people asked if it was
a planner or a journal.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
It is not either of those.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Different it is a dildo or a journal. Well, we
know that Ash has been selling natural Loube, so I mean,
there's a variety of products that could be I was
actually going back over the run sheet that we did
back in January when we discussed the relaunch of this podcast,
and it seems Ashy Bynes kind of has already ruined
her surprise because she spoke about how they want to
(30:03):
do it a four week self improvement course. So I'm
guessing the product has to do with that. Let's get
into our Friday debrief, and I'm coming with a recommendation
that has really surprised me because I scrolled past it
so many times on Netflix, and I'm like, I am
not interested in Charlie Sheen. I grew up with dad
watching Two and a Half Man. I despised the show.
(30:24):
I never really got it. I never even understood that
Charlie Sheen was a big actor before then. Nah, I
had no idea he well, he saw was playing himself. Yeah,
so he was sort of a bit of a joke
on that show. I just viewed him as this washed
up actor. Anyway, there wasn't much on Netflix, so I'm like,
let's just watch it. I love a celebrity documentary as well,
(30:47):
and I was like, oh, okay, I'm guessing that they
haven't spoken to him, like it must be everyone else
speaking about him. No. No, he was there, absolutely telling everything.
It was amazing. I was a bit skeptical at first
and thought I'm not going to enjoy this, but it
really hooked me in. With the first story he told
about being on an aeroplane on the way to his
(31:09):
honeymoon with his wife or one of his wives. He
had three wives, and basically he got invited into the
cockpit because the captain was a big fan of him,
and he said, hey, mate, could I put on your
captain's jack. I think you're forgetting the fact that he
had just downed four shots prior to entering the cockpit,
and also he'd been drinking throughout.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
The whole flight.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
He was very intoxicated. Yeah, so he's off his face
at this point, off his jobs and he said, yeah,
could I also put your captain's hat on? And the
guy's like, nokay, And then they took a photo and
then he said, oh, can I sit behind the wheel
And the pilot's like all right, So the co pilot
gets up and the pilot actually flicked over the controls.
So Charlie Sheen.
Speaker 2 (31:47):
Was flying the fucking plane.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
This is a passenger jet with like four hundred people
on it, and he said he started to sort of
turn it slightly and the plane started tilting and that's
when the pilot decided, Hey, this isn't a good idea.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
Let's flick this off.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
So it was the perfect way to portray the power
and celebrity that Charlie Sheen had at that point in
time and how he could basically get away with anything. Yeah. Well,
it was a great introduction to the doco because the
interviewer is like, was it at this point that you
thought you could get away with anything? And he's like, yeah,
I've never been a fan of the guy because there's
always been these stories in the background about alleged domestic
(32:24):
violence with his partners. And two of his partners actually
did appear in the documentary and it was quite interesting
because although it was quite clear that they had a
tumultuous relationship with him, they still remained in his life
because they shared children together. And it shocked about how
much Denise Richards did fear Charlie she In, particularly, I
don't want to ruin the docco, but the fact that
she took in his twins with his new wife. Yeah,
(32:48):
when they were going to be taken into care. And
that's the thing. Even though he was such a jerk,
there was still a likable quality to him. Maybe it
was because he's actually being so honest now he has
a lot of charisma as well. Yeah, like he like
I've never foun him attractive, and I'm like, oh, he
was a really good looking young guy. It is a
(33:09):
fascinating documentary. If you were looking for something to watch
with your partner on the weekend, I would definitely tune in.
It had me hooked for like the three or four.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
Hours that it went for.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
I've just been desperately looking for something to get into
after the summer I turned pretty Finale. I've been living
for that show. You guys have not watched it. I
feel like it's the biggest show in the world at
the moment, and I don't know what I can convince

I feel like it's a bit of a commitment that
I have to rewatch it. You don't actually watch it,

straight to the third Kay, suer good. We've been watching
the poor man's version of the Summer I turned pretty.
We were watching Home with the Walk to Boys. What

Speaker 2 (33:56):

Speaker 1 (33:56):
You guys need to watch something that's actually trending at
the moment. You recently watching the Block. I'm like, are
you guys just middle aged? Now? I will not have
you say a bad thing against that show. The Block
is my comfort show.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
So fucking tragic. I don't know who watches free to
air TV anymore. Get on, Nat Flick.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
I was listening to baby Talk podcast with Taylor Broad
and Lana Murphy and they both love the Block, So
I think you need to get around it. All right, Well,
can you can someone please.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
Convince Kate to watch the third series of the Summer Time.
I'll watch it if you.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
Watch the Block. I'm not watching the Block. I've missed
it all. It's on free to I've missed it. It's
on Catch On.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
