Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
Amy Torber and coming up on today's show, Tammy Hembro's
online breakdown as she's spotted on a second date with
Bailey Smith as she binds, opens up about her husband's
drinking problem, and Sarah's Day's Secret project. But first, Kati
(00:26):
Milan has jumped on the I'm Just a Girl TikTok
trend and shared a recent relatable mishap. She told her
followers it's the most fucking stupid, pointless activity that she's
put herself through in a long time.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
That's a big call, but I think she may be correct.
So earlier in the year, the Australian influencer who now
resides in the UK decided she wanted to leave London
because she quote hated it, so despite loving her rental,
she ended up cutting a lease a year early. However,
by the time her moving date came around, she decided
that she didn't want to go, and of course she
(00:58):
made the revelation just as landlord found new tenants to
move in. So it turns out that luckily for Katia
the house next door was up for rent, so she's
now in the process of moving all her belongings next door.
And the way the house is designed, she showed herself
moving boxes across the balcony.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
It sounds like a complete headfuck. I cannot imagine having
to pack up all of my belongings to move them
literally next door.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
If I was here, I would have suggested to the landlord, oh,
could you get the new tenants that are moving in
here just to move next door instead, so I don't
actually have to move.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
I'm guessing it's just some bullshit paperwork that stopped it.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Well, it turns out she was the one delaying the
whole process because she was meant to move out in May,
but extended her lease a little bit more and that's
when they found the new tenants, so it was just
really bad timing. Apparently the new place has got a bath,
which is a bit of an upgrade from the other one,
at least.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
I don't know if it's worth moving your whole life
from one house to the other for the bath, though.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
I can't wait to show you, guys. And I'm not
trying to be annoying and like something's coming, like guess what.
But I just want to wait till it's all before
I reveal everything.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
But I'm so excited Sarah's day has revealed it She's
in the midst of major change in her life. The
og fitness influencers shared she's working on a secret project
as well as waiting and praying on another big opportunity.
The updates come off the back of Sarah dramatically losing
her partnership with Australian perfume house Who Is Elijah.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
It seems like Sarah has been scrambling to prove her
worth ever since she got sensationally dumped by Who Is Elijah,
And last week she made a really big deal on
an Instagram story about how she was going above and
beyond for a photo shoot with the electroac company that
she's invested in. She's also been teasing that she's working
on a second cookbook, sharing a lot of vision of
her photographing food and testing recipes. So I think it's
(02:43):
really hit a nerve and she's trying to say, oh, well,
it doesn't matter, I've got all of these projects on
the go.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
That is exactly how it's coming across. And on Wednesday
last week, She revealed on her Instagram story that she
was feeling a mixture of excitement, overwhelm, and nervousness. So
she was vlogging from her car when she.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Said this, there is so much happening in my life
at the moment. And remember a few vlogs ago. I
think it was like a month ago. I've been so
bad at flogging, I said. I think Kurt and I
were sitting together and we said, we just feel like
there's a change in the air, and truly we didn't
know what that was, whether it was like family, lifestyle, work,
(03:22):
no more babies.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Sarah went on to say that there were two major
things going on. One of them she still doesn't have
clarity on, but she said she was praying and waiting
until she felt one hundred percent that it was the
right direction. As for the other, Sarah dropped that a
secret project that she's been working on for the last
few months was fully coming to fruition.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Now. Sarah was quite coy on the details, but she
did reveal that she was inspired to create something after
feeling like she'd lost her sense of self and her
cup was empty. Now, She's been talking about this quite
a lot ever since having her son Harlow, ten months ago.
So she said the fact I've worked on this and
designed it in a way that is going to make
me feel so full in every sense and I don't
have to pause motherhood. A couple of days later, she
(04:04):
also shared a screenshot of her computer and I feel
like whenever she does this, everyone zooms in because in
the past, her pregnancy announcement was actually spoiled because she
had a messenger screen up that said, you know, she
was telling someone that she was pregnant. So that's exactly
what I did. I screenshot and zoomed in, and I
could see the title, and I think there's a dollar
(04:25):
sign in front of it. The other words, I could
definitely read what's sixty challenge? So it's a little bit
anti climatic, but it seems like she's doing some sort
of fitness challenge because she wrote, haven't been this inspired
in a really long time. I cannot wait to share
this with you because this is what I need designing
it for my fellow girls who need to fill their cup,
have fallen into habitual routines that don't serve. You need
(04:46):
to commit to something and can lean on a community
to keep you accountable.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Well, as you said, those clues really point to it
being a fitness challenge. I mean, it's more on brand
for her to be releasing something like this. I thought
the perfume was always.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
A bit odd, and it's all one hundred percent cash
to her. I'm wondering if she's playing on the whole
seventy five hard challenge that is going around social media
at the moments. People have done their own spin on
it and done seventy five soft.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Well, whatever it is, I'm sure it's going to be
some kind of toxic fitness challenge that's packaged up to
be some kind of inspiring thing for mothers.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
We've been seeing a lot of that recently on us.
The timing's a bit weird, though, because she's only just
recently launched her postpartum fitness guides, and she took years
and years to get them out, So I don't know
if it's just like I've got more time, I might
try and flog another one off, a quick sixty day
challenge that suits everyone else, just not mothers. I mean,
she spoke a lot about filling up your cut, but
(05:40):
she did specify that it wouldn't just be something for Mums.
It was for everyone looking.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
To do that.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
And on Friday, Sarah decided to drop some more clues,
so she filmed herself in a meeting with her graphic designer,
and in it she did not hold back. It was
quite uncomfortable to watch.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
She was really happy to tell the.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
Graphic designer watch didn't like let's throw to some of
the audio, that whole thing.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
Because I don't like the font. I don't like the colors.
I hate a gradient, you know, I hate a gradient.
It just looks boring, like it's too tall. I don't
like it. It looks like hospitality to me. It doesn't
look strong and like energetic and athletic. Slant the six
or something.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Do soft of the colors.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
It need to be a little bit more.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
No, I think.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
It's a nice no no, no, no, no.
Speaker 5 (06:33):
I think colors.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
Why are you doing the pink to me?
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Purple? Am allergic to purple? I am I like break
out into her purple.
Speaker 5 (06:41):
No, no, no no.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
When I first saw the video, I just was like, wow,
she was so rude to the graphic designer. But then
I thought, you know what, it's actually super helpful when
someone is that direct about what they want.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Yeah, but I don't know how you could watch that
back and think, oh, yeah, I think I'll post that
up as a reflection of what I acted like in
a meeting.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
But so many people were commenting on TikTok saying, oh,
I'm also allergic to purple.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
It is interesting to see how Sarah rolls out this
next project, because I feel like we've seen a lot
of influencers move away from the whole secret project strategy
side of thing and just share what they're doing. But
I think Sarah really got burnt with being so open
about her partnership with who Is Elarga, and I'd love
to know how she's feeling about it all. Because the
co founder of who Is Elijah, Raquel Boris, put up
(07:29):
a question box on her Instagram story asking for people
to nominate themselves to be an ambassador for them. So
she wrote, who is Elijah is looking for the best
of the best social media girlies. Do you have amazing experience,
live and breathe? Socials love content and creation. Sarah would
be absolutely affuming because they claim that they didn't have
the capacity to do an ambassadorshit with her.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Yeah, I wonder how many of her friends. She's got
to message in saying her name.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Oh, well, it's quite awkward because Ellie Watson, who Sarah
has had on a podcast before. So I don't know
if they're actually friends, but I know Sarah draws a
lot of inspiration from Ellie. She put up a story
thanking who was Elijah for a pr package they sent her,
so potentially she may be on their list, and that
would be such a slap in the face for Sarah
because if you put them both on paper, they're very similar.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Well, I just wonder are they actually looking for an
influencer to be an ambassador or are they asking their
customer base to put themselves forward to be part of
a campaign.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
When I saw this question box go out, I was like, Oh,
it must have been a budget thing as to why
they cut Sarah's day. Because Sarah's day, she's a massive influencer.
She's got over a million followers. She would demand a
pretty big salary for being an ambassador for who is Elijah?
Whereas if you put it out to the community, you're
almost asking people to apply for the role and you
take any hand away that they have, so there's not
(08:46):
much bargaining room. If they're actually putting themselves forward.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
See. I don't know if it was just a budgeting thing,
but I think maybe it was more so the brand
looked at these type of partnerships with huge influencers and
thought they're a bit tone deaf, and that's why maybe
they're reaching out to members of their own community to
be the face of their perfume brand instead.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
See. I don't think they're necessarily looking for just a
member of the general public. I think they're looking for
that tear of influencer who is competing against a lot
of others for brand deals and is probably quite desperate
and may just take product or a smaller amount of money.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
Honestly, feels so weird, like posting that video that I
just posted.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
Tammy Hembro has given fans a glimpse into her emotional
state during her short marriage to Matt Sakowski. Over the weekend,
the og fitness influencer uploaded a montage of old clips
of her crying uncontrollably with her wedding rings in full sight.
The video comes a week after she was spotted on
a date with geelong start Bailey Smith.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
I don't know about you, Amy, but I found it
so difficult to watch the montage of clips because they
were so raw it felt like something we shouldn't be
looking at it.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Yeah, it was very uncomfortable and for those who haven't
seen it, the video was set to the song to
Build a Home by the Cinematic Orchestra, so the video
opened with text which read, it felt like the heaviness
would never end.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Tammy then went on to share numerous clips of her
breaking down. So in one clip she showed her hand
uncontrollably shaking, while in another she was rolling around on
the floor banging her hand on the ground, and in
another scene, Tammy was uncontrollably crying while brushing her hair.
And following the montage of sad clips, the video then
transitioned to happier clips of Tammy with her kids and
(10:26):
friends enjoying life, with the text that said, but then
I noticed the light creeping back in.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
So in the caption, Tammy wrote, I made this so
long ago and honestly never thought i'd share it. Watching
it back makes me genuinely feel ill. But with everything
happening right now, if there was ever a time to
share it, it's now. I'm posting this for the person
who feels like they're drowning the way I once did.
The person who can't see a way forward. I want
you to know it does get better, I promise you.
(10:54):
Some traumas shake you so deeply they change the way
you see literally everything, the world, the people around you,
and even yourself. But little by little, the light comes back.
No one else knows your whole story. No one has
felt what you've felt, seen what you've seen, or carried
what you've carried. This is your life, your journey, but
you are not alone in it. One day you'll look
back and realize you survived what you thought would break you.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Now. My initial thought when I watched the video was
how does someone capture themselves crying genuinely? And someone had
the exact same thought as me, so they wrote under
Tammy's video on Instagram, just curious do you cry first,
then film or set up the camera and then cry.
Tammy ended up replying to the comment saying these were
actually just videos of me talking that I sent to
(11:38):
my siss that were never intended to see the light
of day. Hope this helps. Tammy's sister Amy added her
own insight in the comments, writing, my heart was breaking
for you during this time. This brought me to tears. Now, Amy,
We've been through a lot together over the last thirty
six years, but I've never received a video of you
breaking down and crying.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Yeah, but I don't really send videos like this, Like
there are a lot of people who send voice notes
to one another. I mean, this is taking it a
step further, actually videoing yourself and sending them as messages.
I'm glad that Tammy actually clarified that these are videos
she was sending her sister, because I find it so
odd that people will be crying at home and their
first thought is, Oh, I'm gonna whip out my phone
(12:17):
and start filming this. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
It always seems very performative when influencers share videos of
themselves crying. So I'm glad she provided that further context.
And I suppose I'm here saying, oh, well, I've never
received a video of you crying and talking to the camera.
But we're not influencers, and I think talking to the
camera is just second nature to them, So it kind
of makes sense that this is how Tammy would communicate
I'm with her sisters.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
Yeah, I mean that's the other thing, Like, I don't
whip my phone out and film my whole day. So
for some influencers, maybe it does make sense to think, oh,
I'm about to tear up, let's bring the camera out
and capture this. I mean, I think some people film
themselves crying because they think it's really authentic, and it's
almost like they're trying to prove to their audience. No,
I don't just have great times here. I am also sad.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
It's going to be my least favorite type of content
and influencers shares and I'm going to be quite brutal here,
and I'm sorry if anyone actually does film themselves crying.
But whenever I see that type of content, I just
think to myself, oh my god, are you're a narcissist,
because like the fact that you've set the camera up,
filmed yourself, and reviewed it and then thought, yeah, I'm
gonna post that on my story, I look good crying
(13:20):
because whenever I've seen myself crying, and I'm trying to
think when that would be because I don't film it,
but you know, when you see yourself in the mirror
and you've just had a cry, I'm like, I think
I'm an ugly crier. I mean, Kim Kardashian is the
most famous ugly cry that there is.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
I think sometimes when you cry, your eyes go a
really bright color.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Oh, some people's eyes look really good when they're crying.
Those are the ones that are posting it on social media.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
But you're right, there's so many steps to it. So
it's not only you're just taking your phone out to
film it. You're then reviewing it. You're then putting it up.
You know, you're loading it onto Instagram or TikTok and
then having to push publish.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
And then also selecting like emotive music and like the
caption to Anyway, Tammy ended up jumping on her story
to provide further clarity around why she decided to post
the video and how she actually got the shot. This
is what she said.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
I made it and it was just like too much
for me, So I was like, I'm not like gonna
post it like I made it so long ago. But
I mean, it's about that now, and I just know
that I like, when I was going through it, videos
like that helped me so much. So if I can
like do that for one person, then that's all I want.
(14:35):
But also I don't I don't like just film myself
crying mid breakdown, Papa. Yeah, I don't usually for myself
mid breakdown. Most of those videos, I was actually talking
in them and sending to my sister, So that's that anyway.
(14:55):
I never want to you look at any of those
videos ever again. So hope everyone has a good day.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Tammy has just given a real insight into her TikTok algorithm.
She must have been deep in breakup TikTok for videos
of people filming themselves crying to be penetrating her feed
so much.
Speaker 5 (15:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Yeah, those sort of videos just make me feel uncomfortable,
Like I would never sit back and go, oh, this
is making me feel better.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
To be fair, I haven't gone through a breakup since
TikTok has been a thing, so maybe that really would
have hit a note with me if I'd been in
the breakup trenches.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Maybe we're just emotionally inept. Maybe it's us true. I
think that could be also. I mean, it's clear that
Tammy had a lot of support from the influencer community
because beloved TikTok chef and former makeup guru Michael Finch
commented under Tammy's video, Oh Babe, the shaking love you.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
It's funny because when I was putting together the deep
Dive on Tammy Hembro, I watched a lot of Tammy's
old YouTube videos and Michael Finch actually popped up on
one and around twenty eighteen when he was at his
height of his makeup guru fame, and he was actually
in attendance Shani Grimman at Emily Hembro's gender reveal.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Oh that's so weird. I didn't even place those twos
together as being friends. I mean, it makes sense them
both being in Queensland.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
On the Gold Coast. Talking about Gold Coast influencers, former
b Brother contestant and also friends of Michael Finch, Sky
Wheatley added, this makes me cry strongest, most independent woman.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
I've got to correct you, Kate, former friend of Michael Finch.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
I forgot that they weren't friends anymore. That's really sad. Yeah,
I love seeing them together.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Well og influenzer Kati Milan also wrote I love you,
I'm so proud of you. But there was one comment
that raised eyebrows and it was from controversial Only Fans
star Anna Paul, who wrote, happiness always comes back.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
I feel like that was more of a self serving
comment from Anna Paul. It was kind of like, I'm
going to insert myself into this internet drama and kind
of make people feel a bit sorry for me as well.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
I mean, I think she's just glad that Tammy Hembro
has taking a bit of the heat off her.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Yeah. I mean the biggest influencer story at the start
of twenty twenty five was Anna Paul. We're now in
the Tammy Hembro era. I want aways happened for the
next couple of months of the year.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
I think the Tammy drama is just going to continue
until Christmas time. To be honest, I personally.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
Found the timing of Tammy's video very interesting because it
appears to be in direct response to the claims Matt
Zakowski made on his podcast on Thursday. So in that episode,
Matt really painted a picture that he was the one
that was unhappy in the marriage. He claimed he was
the one that ended things with Tammy and it was
all for his mental health. Tammy's then gone hol my
(17:28):
beer Matthew and given a real insight into just how
she was feeling during her marriage, and it makes me
think she's sick of Matt trying to play the victim
and control the narrative.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
Well, it's obviously getting nasty because we spoke a few
weeks ago about how the lawyers have become involved. So
I think the gloves are off for Tammy Henbro. We've
seen it in how she's lauding her new relationship with
Bailey Smith. Things are getting nasty.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Yeah, a lot of people think that the photo was
a setup pap shot. Tammy has also managed to combat
Matt's claims that they only broke up eight weeks ago,
because she made such a big point of saying that
this video was made so long ago and she didn't
think that she was going to share it. So it's
really clear that she wants people to know that this
relationship was done for a while before she moved on
(18:11):
with Bailey Smith. She saying, look, it wasn't too quickly
as Matt claimed, and late last week, Tammy's best friend
Isabelle Laws also hit back at Matt's claim that Tammy
had blindsided him by moving on after eight weeks. So
under the Geelong Advertisers coverage of Tammy and Bailey, she
wrote eight weeks is crazy with the laughing face emoji
closer to six months laugh out loud. Now six months
(18:32):
would make the breakup mid February. To with that into perspective,
the couple only got married at the end of November
and got back from their honeymoon late December, so that
is a very quick turnaround.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Yeah, the honeymoon period literally ended after the honeymoon.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
I mean, I think we're all witnessing at the moment
a master class and how Tammy has managed to attract
twenty million social media followers and keep them entertained because
she is super strategic with the content that she is
posting at the moment.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
So you don't think that she's actually posting this to
help others. You think, no, this is just to get
it Matt.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
Oh, it is completely to shut down what Matt said
on his podcast and also to the media. She had
this video ready to go in her bag of tricks
to shift public sentiment when it was needed.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
Yeah, she's been able to cleverly reposition herself as a
victim again because Matt was really trying to pose as
the victim last week during his podcast. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
I predict Matt will hit back on his podcast on Wednesday,
which we'll get delayed till Thursday, and I'll be like,
when is this coming out? I need to hear it now.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Amongst all of the online chaos, Tammy and Bailey have
still managed to find time to have a second date.
And this was on Friday, so they were spotted walking
with their arms around each other at a beach on
the Gold Coast. One onlooker filmed the new couple and
sent her into Instagram watchdog account influencer updates AU. They
told the Instagram account they pulled up together in her car,
(19:54):
got coffee and went for a walk, then drove off
with him driving her car.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
All I could think of was, how the hell has
Bailey Smith got approved time off from his football club
to fly from Melbourne to the Gold Coast to go
on a date. He had a game on Sunday in Sydney.
Speaker 5 (20:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
I just love though that the Bailey Smith factor has
brought all of these other commentators into the world of
Tammy hembro because I saw someone shared in our group
that former Carlton player and Big Brother contestant Daniel Goringe
he put up this hilarious TikTok video. So there was
a photo of Tammy and Bailey making out at some
restaurant that someone had taken and in the side of
the photo you can see another diner's plate and their
(20:33):
steak and chips were absolutely swimming in gravy and all
he could do was comment on this plate of food.
It was fucking hilarious.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
It is funny seeing the footy commentator's way in what
I didn't like, and I didn't even want to talk
about it on this podcast. But there is a community
coach in Western Australia that's been sacked for saying the
most vile thing about Tammy. I'm not even gonna repeat
it because it's so offensive.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
I saw this in a headline and I was like,
I am shocked that they put this term in the headline.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
It seems like the headline created confusion for some because
we're going to actually basically have to say what this
guy said in order to give this story justice. But
there was a word used, and it was a sea word.
But it's not irregular sea word that people bleep out.
It was more of a disgusting sexual term.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
So it wasn't see you next Tuesday. No it wasn't.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
But my mom thought it was the sea word and
my mom said, well, what is a cunt bucket? And
I was like, Mom, it's a different from.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
When they pronounce it coom tween boys. I felt like
alcohol always just kind of came. It was like this
invisible wet.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
It wasn't visible.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
It's like a wedge between us. Ashe Bines has revealed
that her husband's drinking problem almost broke up their marriage.
The og fitness influencer made the cantid confession during an
episode of her podcast, She rises.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
I have to admit I usually find it quite difficult
to get through Ashy's podcast. I'm really not their target
mind when it comes to listening about self help and
toxic positivity. But I was hooked to this episode so
as she had her husband Steve Evans on the podcast
to reflect on their seventeen years together. Can you believe
they've been together that long?
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (22:15):
And they really didn't hold back so for full transparency.
Back in the day, I was more team Kayla than
I was team Ashiff. I never did the workout guy,
but I definitely knew who she was though, but I
wasn't familiar so much with her backstory, so I found
it pretty interesting when ash was reminiscing about how she
first met Steve. So she was only nineteen at the
(22:36):
time and he was twenty eight, and it turns out
that he reached out to her on Facebook of all places,
and they chatted for a few months before meeting up
in person. And she said when she first saw him,
she knew he was the one now, as she often
gushes about Steve online in the past, She's called him
her night in Shining Armor. And the podcast was even
(22:57):
entitled The Man who believed in Me before I did.
And this is because Steve was the one who introduced
Ashi to the fitness world. He was a personal trainer
for ten years before he met Ashi and as she
ended up actually falling in love with fitness by taking
one of his boot camps, and then they built Ashe's
fitness empire together. And it was interesting to hear Ash
talk not so glowingly about Steve on her podcast, particularly
(23:21):
when they spoke about their hardest times together as a couple.
Let's throw to what Steve said.
Speaker 6 (23:28):
In the relationship. It's definitely been my drinking. It's caused
a lot of, I guess trust issues because withheld and
just the drinking is very triggering in general, no one
likes the person they are when they're drunk. But you know,
it didn't serve our relationship at all. But happy to say,
you know, we haven't had a drink for a really year.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
So as She went on to explain that she found
Steve's issues with alcohol really triggering, and this is because
as she grew up with an alcoholic stepfather who was
also very abusive. So ashally said that a lot of
Hair and Steve's fights would center around alcohol and it
got so bad that their relationship coach told them to
break up.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
I mean, that's a pretty big deal for a relationship
coach to be like, actually, I can't help you.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
I quit.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
I'm actually, yeah, I'm going to surrender being paid to
help you. You need to go your separate ways. Despite
this advice, though, Ashley and Steve managed to save their marriage.
So Steve ended up going through a group called Brotherhood.
So within this group, he took three to four meetings
a week, which included one on one training, breath work,
and talking to the group about his problems. The couple
(24:36):
also worked with a therapist, and ashually went on to
say the couple are now better than ever so when.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
Did this all happen, Like, was this a recent thing
or was this years ago?
Speaker 2 (24:45):
So they said it happened around five to seven years ago,
when their oldest son, Taj was very young.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
That makes sense because if this only happened a year
or so ago, they probably wouldn't want to put it
out there.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
Yeah, but Steve said he's been sober for a year now,
so it seems to have been an ongoing thing for them.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
This episode continued to be pretty juicy because Steve also
touched on ashe's infamous friendship breakdown. So he said, alongside
his drinking problems, one of the hardest things for him
was to see his wife go through friendship breakdowns. So
he is of course referring to Ash's recent friendship bust
up with her former best friend and podcast co host
Kiara Duro.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Well, Amy, I'm glad you're clarified to the listeners, because
Ash has of course infamously parted ways with her other
former best friends Sammy Leo and Gretti Rose. But I
do agree with you. I'm pretty sure Steve was referring
to Kiaraduro and when he was talking about these friendship breakups,
he explained that he and Ashy had learned a lot
of lessons after getting big quickly on social media. He
(25:43):
said one of the main ones was how to react,
and for him, that means not putting fuel on the fire.
This is what he said.
Speaker 6 (25:50):
So when their friendship breakdown and I saw you know,
there was a few cases there where things were thrown
at you and sometimes untrue, sometimes on call for, sometimes
an overreaction to something. And it's been really hard to
sit there and watch you cap that because I know
the real story and the truth behind the scenes, and
because I know you're such a lover. You know you
(26:10):
wear your heart and your sleep, especially in friendships. You're
one of the best loyal friends. I know you're the
first one there for a birthday cake, you're the first
one to organize a dinner for someone's birthday, or you'll
always attend everything and be the best friend. And you
can see the people that you've drawn into your life.
Speaker 3 (26:27):
Now.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
I'm not trying to refute what Steve is saying here,
but it's a little bit awkward when you get your
husband on your podcast to say what a great friend
you've been after all of these public friendship breaks down.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
Yeah, it's like getting your mum to say what an
amazing person you are. Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Really did feel like that. Anyway, that is where we're
going to leave things today. If you do want to
hear more content from us, though, we drop a subscriber
only episode every Thursday. That episode is basically an extension
of our regular shows where we talk even more about
influence across it and.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
If you did enjoy the show, we would really love
if you could go and leave us a five star
review because it really helps out the show. This episode
was recorded on the traditional land of the Ghana people
of the Adelaide Plains. We pay respect to elders past
