I'm still recovering from it alittle bit, but I missed an

I missed last week after havinga two hour long conversation
with Theron McClain aboutCalvinism our long conversation
(00:21):
with Theron McClain aboutCalvinism.
And not too long ago beforethat, I missed another week

So I'm going to try to get onthe ball and do more episodes.
I apologize.
I really love this podcast.
I love talking about God.
(00:43):

I love talking about God.
I love more than anything.
I love talking about politicsand stuff and I love my audience
.
I love you guys and I likehaving a good show for you guys.
But welcome back toOveropinionated.
I'm going to do a brief littlenews update.
I hope it's not more than 20minutes long, you can skip along
(01:04):
and then we're going to talkabout church hurt and church
splits and my experience withthat and how to deal with that.
With that being said, I'mrecording.
It is 4-9-20-24.
It is Tuesday, 11 o'clock AM.
(01:25):
I got home from work not toolong ago and I'm shooting the
show.
President Donald Trump has donea few things since we've talked
on here that I'm going to haveto criticize him for and if
you're a Trump guy, it's okay,I'm going to vote for Trump too.
But we still have to criticizehim as Christians, because not
(01:47):
everything Trump does lives upto a biblical standard and we
have to be honest about that.
He's a politician, he's runningfor office.
I personally think he needs torepent and ask Jesus as Lord and
Savior, because I don't see anyfruit there.
I don't judge the man's souland his eternal destiny, but you
(02:11):
know, and I think Trump was agreat president, but he just
made his abortion statement, where he stands on abortion for
the 2024 election.
I'm going to play a little bitof it, then I'll pause it.
So I'll play it a little bitand I'll pause it and I'll talk
every once in a while and giveyou my thoughts on it.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Under my leadership,
the Republican Party will always
support the creation of strong, thriving and healthy American
families.
We want to make it easier formothers and families to have
babies, not harder.
That includes supporting theavailability of fertility
treatments like IVF in everystate in America.
(02:54):
Like the overwhelming majorityof Americans, including the vast
majority of Republicans,conservatives, christians and
pro-life Americans, I stronglysupport the availability of IVF
for couples who are trying tohave a precious baby.
What could be more beautiful orbetter than that?
Today, I'm pleased.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Okay.
So he says precious baby.
What could be more beautiful orwonderful than that?
And I agree with that.
That's why I wish his statementoverall on this issue was
better.
Let's talk about IVF andvirtual fertilization.
Forgive me if I'mmispronouncing it.
I have two cousins that wereconceived by IVF.
(03:34):
I'm against IVF but I love mytwo cousins.
I'm glad they're here.
Cousins, I'm glad they're here.
The reason I'm against IVFoverall is in IVF you are taking
a sperm and an egg from amother and you're putting them
together and creating an embryoAt that moment.
(03:58):
It is a unique human lifescientifically.
And if you go out for the wholeprocess of the pro-life
ideology just creating as manyembryos as we can and then
freezing them and then puttingthem in the wombs of the mother
(04:18):
I'm fine with I.
Honestly, if it was just if youjust use the embryos you
created, I'd be okay.
It wouldn't bother me nearly asmuch.
But the problem is you'redestroying tons and tons of
embryos that are not conceived.
(04:39):
So you make more embryos thanthe children you want to
conceive.
Because why?
You might have a miscarriage.
You might.
You know, it just might notwork.
And so instead of making twoembryos, if you want two
children.
You could make eight or ten,and these things are very
(05:03):
expensive.
Could make eight or ten, andthese things are very expensive.
Well, these, these, not thesethings, these human beings that
have not developed yet, they'revery expensive to hold in these
freezers.
You're talking about five, sometimes five thousand dollars
a month.
So, once you conceive, you'regoing to stop paying that money
and you're going to disregard.
(05:24):
You know, um, what it really is.
You're going to stop payingthat money and you're going to
disregard.
You know what it really is is.
You're killing the embryos, soyou're killing the children of
the.
You're killing the childrenthat you didn't conceive inside
the womb.
It's because people don't lookat them as human beings.
(05:45):
Scientifically, they're humanbeings.
They're not as big as us,they're not as developed as us,
they don't have a heartbeat yet.
And so, yeah, most republicanssupport it.
Um, sadly, most, I think mostrepublicans support abortion.
Um, I don't think most republicRepublicans are for getting rid
of all abortion.
(06:06):
I am, but the Republican Partyis better on abortion than the
Democrat Party by far.
It allows abortion up to birth.
But, yeah, this is somethingthat's real serious.
We shouldn't just say because,politically, it's a losing issue
(06:27):
for us, and I admit it is alosing issue for us.
We shouldn't just shrug ourshoulders and say whatever.
We're going to allow thekilling of these unborn embryos
that weren't conceived.
But Trump's primary objectiveis winning the election.
(06:47):
That's it.
So I don't have faith thatTrump has huge convictions on
these issues.
Now I give him full credit forgetting Roe v Wade overturned,
which was horrible, but I don'tthink he's deeply hardcore
pro-life.
He cares about these babies.
(07:08):
I'm sorry Now I don't think hehates them, but let's keep going
.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
The Alabama
legislature has acted very
quickly and passed legislationthat preserves the availability
of IVF in Alabama.
They really did a great andfast job.
The Republican Party shouldalways be on the side of the
miracle of life and the side ofmothers father their beautiful
babies, and that's what we are.
(07:37):
Ivf is an important part ofthat, and our great Republican
Party will always be with you inyour quest for the ultimate joy
in life.
Many people have asked me whatmy position is on abortion and
abortion rights, especiallysince I was proudly the person
responsible for the ending ofsomething that all legal
(07:58):
scholars, both sides, wanted and, in fact, demanded be ended Roe
v Wade.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
That's not true.
Both sides of this debate didnot want Roe v Wade to be
overturned, because the leftwing side wants you to be able
to have sex free of consequenceand be able to kill your baby
before it's born.
Um, yeah, he's just being apolitician here.
Both sides did not want tooverturn Roe v Wade.
(08:28):
Unfortunately, there are someRepublicans that didn't want to
overturn Roe v Wade.
I even got in a heated debatewith an elected former delegate
uh, republican about if weshould overturn Roe v Wade.
So, okay, he's just wrong aboutthat, but let's keep going
(08:48):
regardless.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
It must be remembered
that the Democrats are the
radical ones on this positionbecause they support abortion up
to and even beyond the ninthmonth.
The concept of having anabortion in the later months and
even execution after birth andthat's exactly what it is the
baby is born, the baby isexecuted after birth is
(09:11):
unacceptable and almost everyoneagrees with that.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
He's right about that
and that's why he's trying to
be a moderate on abortion andsome people will say, well, josh
Trump's being ridiculous here.
Some people will say, well, josh Trump's being ridiculous
here.
Nobody supports abortion afterbirth, which is actually a
fantasize.
The former governor of Virginia, ralph Northam, said on a radio
(09:36):
interview that if, in case of abotched abortion, that the
doctor could make it comfortableand then the mother, the family
, the doctor would have adiscussion.
Now he walked back the wordsand said well, when I said
discussion, I didn't meanterminating the pregnancy
Bullcrap.
We all knew what you meant andTrump, rightfully, has posted on
(09:58):
his social media that clip fromthat interview.
Several years ago, virginiaDemocrats still live out of
today.
Blue Virginia uh, tweeted out apost with the last uh
Republican governors of the last50 years of Virginia and said
who was worse?
And I tagged them and I saidRalph Norfolk was worse.
(10:19):
It was okay.
He said it was okay to kill ababy after a botched abortion.
They said he never said that.
I took the little clip from hisexact quote.
I retweeted it, put BlueVirginia in it.
Yeah, they didn't like that.
Blue Virginia doesn't like me,oh, okay, well, let's keep going
(10:40):
.
But yeah, he's trying to be amoderate on the issue because
Democrats are for killing thebaby all the way up to the
moment of birth and you can sayfeed us all you want to.
We know what's inside that womb, we're not stupid.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
But go ahead, mr
president, keep going my view is
, now that we have abortion, where everybody wanted it, from
a legal standpoint, the stateswill determine, by vote or
legislation, or perhaps both, and whatever they decide must be
the law of the land, in thiscase, the law of the state.
Many states will be different, many will have a different
(11:18):
number of weeks, or some willhave more conservative than
others, and that's what theywill be.
At the end of the day, this isall about the will of the people
.
You must follow your heart or,in many cases, your religion or
your faith.
Do what's right for your familyand do what's right for
yourself.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Do what's right for
your children.
All right, let's take a littlepause there.
So he's going to leave it up tothe state.
So Trump's okay with Californiakilling babies all the way up
to birth.
He's not going to set astandard at 15 weeks, which I
wish he would.
That said no abortion after 15weeks.
Democrats are fighting hard onabortion.
They're being aggressive.
They want to codify Roe v Wadein the law, saying that you know
(12:01):
the previous Supreme Courtprecedent saying all states have
to abide by this.
Why don't Republicans forgiveme for my stutter why doesn't
Republicans?
Why do we not say let's makeDobbs, codify Dobbs as law of
the land?
So I mean we could do the samething and you might say well,
(12:25):
that's the case now, but whocares?
Just do it, fight for life.
And then he said this is upbetween the legislators.
Yeah, I mean I'm all for staterights, but when states violate
human rights, I stop supportingstate rights.
(12:46):
This goes back, man.
This goes all the way back tothe Civil War.
This is a Civil War argument.
This is a politician saying thestates that want to have
slavery can have slavery and thestates that don't want to have
slavery can have slavery.
If Virginia wants slavery, virginia can have slavery.
If Ohio wants no slavery, theydon't have to have slavery.
(13:09):
Now President Trump is sayingif Virginia wants abortion, then
Virginia can have abortion.
If Alabama doesn't wantabortion, then they don't have
to have abortion.
It's the same thing.
It's the same thing.
Um, it's the same parallel, isn't it?
There's a lot of parallelsbetween abortion and slavery, a
(13:33):
lot, but um, if you want to gomore into depth on abortion, go
back to my previous uh episode.
Why abortion is murder?
Um, and he said he also saidsomething that's dangerous
you've got to follow your heart.
He said, man, that's not whatthe bible says.
The bible says the heart is, um, desperately wicked and don't
(13:57):
follow it.
Oh, man, who can know it?
Alright, continue, mr President.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Do what's right for
our country and vote so
important to vote.
At the end of the day, it's allabout will of the people.
That's where we are right nowand that's what we want the will
of the people.
I want to thank the sixjustices, Chief Justice John.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
I don't want the will
of the people, but what about
democracy?
I want the will of the people, but what about democracy?
And what?
I want?
The will of God and I supportdemocracy.
Okay, don't blow off your highhorse here, democrats.
But I want the will of God andif God says this is wrong, we
(14:44):
shouldn't do it.
I don't think we should do it.
If God says this is wrong, weshouldn't do it.
I don't think we should do it.
If God says this is right weshould do it, then I think we
should do it.
The separation of church andstate Well, we've already went
over this.
But I don't want the churchtelling the state, I don't want
(15:06):
a church denomination ruling thestate, but I do want christians
to get involved in politics andact like christians, and
there's nothing that prohibitsthat in the constitution.
That is not me establishing areligion.
That's what we're fightingabout.
The establishment calls.
The establishment calls Mefollowing my faith and my heart
in God is not me establishing anofficial religion.
(15:30):
You know what they meant byofficial religion.
It was a Christian denomination.
Let's not kid ourselves.
But let's continue with whatthe president has to say.
We'll back it up a bit.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Brett Kavanaugh, amy
Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch
incredible people for having thecourage to allow this long-term
, hard-fought battle to finallyend.
This 50-year battle over Roe vWade took it out of the.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Except Chief Justice
John Roberts didn't vote to
overturn Roe v Wade.
I don't know what the crap he'stalking about.
It was a 5-4 decision, not a6-3 decision.
You know, justice Robertsdidn't have enough courage to
say that unborn babies shouldn'tdie.
And listen the other five.
They could have went strongeron this.
(16:37):
They could have said under the14th Amendment, abortion is
wrong and should be outlawed.
But under this court, that one,the only person I think, would
have done that, is um thomas, justice thomas.
But I am thankful, even if it'sa vic, a victory that's not
full we got.
We do have to learn how to takepartial victories, and this is
(16:59):
why I'll tell you what thepresident should have done with
the statement.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
But okay, I let
president trump keep yapping for
a little bit federal hands andbrought it into the hearts,
minds and vote of the people ineach state was really something.
Now it's up to the states to dothe right thing.
Like ronald reagan, I amstrongly in favor of exceptions
for rape, incest and life of themother.
(17:25):
You must follow your heart ofthis issue, but remember you
must also win elections torestore our culture and, in fact
, to save our country, which iscurrently and very sadly- Okay,
right there he's sayingevangelicals like me get in line
and vote.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Basically, he's
saying follow your heart, but
they're destroying our country.
Now I am going to vote forTrump, but I'm also going to
rake him over the hills for thiscrappy statement.
He brings up Ronald Reaganbecause, you know, conservatives
and evangelicals love RonaldReagan.
I love Ronald Reagan.
He's a very.
You know he's called the greatcommunicator because he
(18:03):
communicated greatly.
He was a very.
You know he's called the greatcommunicator because he
communicated greatly.
He was a great president, but hewasn't God.
He doesn't set the standard.
And also he did some thingsthat wasn't great, like the 1984
assault weapons ban.
They did a ban that got rid ofthe right to own AR-15s and
(18:26):
stuff like that.
He did that.
He signed that into law.
So let's not forget that.
And you know and Ronald Reaganwas pro-life with you know, the
exceptions I think there shouldbe no exceptions with rape or
incest.
Only the only exceptions thereshould be is for life of the
(18:47):
mother and when the baby passesaway in the womb.
You can get mad at me, you canhate me, but it's wrong to kill
a baby, even if it's conceivedin rape, it's still wrong.
And I say in that instance, wehelp the mother, we love her, we
support her, we don't shame her, but we don't kill the baby for
(19:08):
the crimes of the father.
Okay, well, let's keep going.
Let's listen to Trump's rest ofthe speech.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
A nation in decline.
Our nation needs help.
It needs unity.
It needs us all to work closelytogether Democrat, republican,
liberal, conservative, everyone.
We have to work together.
We have to bring our nationback from the brink, and that's
where it is.
It's at the brink and we will.
We will do it.
(19:36):
I promise you.
We will do it, always go byyour heart, but we must win.
We have to win.
We are a failing nation, but wecan be a failing nation no
longer.
We will make our nation great.
We will make our nation greaterthan ever before.
Thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
Well.
So someone put this up.
Someone put this up for Trumpbecause they thought it was the
best way for him to win.
This is the same thing NikkiHaley would have said I'm so
disappointed.
Now listen, there's some peoplethat say you have to ban it
outright, even in the federalgovernment.
(20:18):
If I could, I would, but Ithink we do have to have some
incrementalism and we shouldhave went with a 15 week ban.
A lot of Americans would go fora 15 week ban.
Guess what?
In Europe, a 15 week ban iskind of common.
In America we're scattered allover the place California,
(20:44):
virginia you can get an abortionall the way up to the moment of
birth.
Texas, louisiana it's hard toget a surgical abortion.
You can get an abortion pill, though.
That's what people are doing.
We need to outlaw them too, buta lot of pro-life establishment
(21:05):
are afraid to outlaw theabortion bill.
But whatever, I meanRepublicans.
What I'm saying right now isnot popular with Republicans.
The establishment would tell meto stop.
But you know what?
I don't care.
I'm not in politics to just seeRepublicans win.
(21:28):
I would like that, but I'd likethem to actually do stuff when
they win, and I'd like them tosave unborn lives.
That's why I started and that'swhy I'll keep going.
And, yeah, I'm going tocriticize our nominee when he's
wrong, and Donald Trump is wrongabout abortion.
(21:49):
All right, everyone, I'm notgoing to lie, we're going to
criticize Trump a little bitmore.
Okay, let's play just a littlebit of this clip.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
And I have many.
All Americans need a Bible intheir home and I have many.
It's my favorite book.
It's a lot of people's favoritebook.
This Bible is a reminder thatthe biggest thing we have to
bring back America and to makeAmerica great again is our
religion.
Religion is so important, it'sso missing, but it's going to
(22:21):
come back and it's going to comeback strong, just like our
country is going to come backstrong.
I'm proud to endorse andencourage you to get this Bible.
We must make America pray again.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
Oh my gosh Cringe.
Talk about the cringe.
Oh man, I know Trump's asalesman.
But man that's so cringe, it'sso bad.
Oh, including in your KingJames Version of the God Bless
(22:54):
America Bible is a copy of theConstitution, the Bill of Rights
, the Declaration ofIndependence, the Pledge of
Allegiance.
Okay, I love America, guys, Ido, I love America.
But man, this is bad.
You're putting all of that inthe Holy Bible.
(23:16):
Guess what?
The Constitution is notinfallible.
The Bible is literally abovethe Constitution.
I mean I, like the family,listen, I've got a copy of the
Constitution, right here, I'mholding it in there it is.
I'm holding it in my hands.
A copy of the Constitution, right here, I'm holding it in,
there it is, holding it in myhands.
(23:37):
Copy of the United StatesConstitution and Declaration of
Independence.
I got it.
It's important.
I've read it.
It's not God's word and, man, Ido have one patriotic Bible a
teacher gave me when I graduatedand it has a little bit.
(23:59):
Sometimes it can get borderline, but it has the.
It's called the AmericanPatriots Bible.
It's a New King James Versionand it has the importance of the
Bible throughout America.
It has important quotes frompresidents and generals and
patriots about the Holy Word.
(24:20):
But even that is still focusedon the Bible.
It's just got an American zingto it.
You might not like it, but it'snot what Trump's doing.
Trump is selling a copy of theDeclaration of Independence, the
Constitution and the Pledge ofAllegiance in the Bible.
(24:40):
I mean, maybe it would be okayto have like in the very back,
like the Bill of Rights, but ifunder disclaimer that this is
not God's infallible word, theseare your rights, that you
should know.
I just he's trying to make aquick buck for his campaign, his
(25:01):
legal fees.
Oh man, donald trump's gottarepent, man.
I mean, I don't know how youcan look at his position on
abortion, which he's sowish-washy on, the fact that he
said he's never asked forforgiveness.
And this isn't supposed to bean anti-Donald Trump episode.
I'm going to support him, I'mgoing to vote for him.
(25:22):
Joe Biden's worse than him, butI also have to call out this
crap.
All right, shifting gears now.
Wrestlemania 40.
I just watched it.
Roman Reigns has been defeatedand the new WWE Universal
(25:44):
Champion is Cody Rhodes.
Now, yes, it's staged.
Okay, don't give me that crap.
Everyone knows it's staged, butit's good entertainment.
And you know what else isstaged Batman, captain America,
marvel, star Wars, gunsmoke.
Okay, I like those things too.
It's just a good story, um, butCody finally pulled it off.
(26:07):
He won the big one that his dadwas never able to, and very
emotional man.
It made me jerk a tear.
I mean it really.
It really made me emotional tosee him and his family in the
ring.
A huge match with so many oldWWE wrestlers, the Undertaker,
(26:30):
john Cena, the Rock, you name it.
They had it.
It was well drawn up, very, very well drawn up.
Congratulations to the AmericanNightmare, cody Rhodes.
All right, everyone, we're goingto get into our main topic of
the night, about church hurt andchurch splits.
(26:51):
So I've been through a churchsplit.
I've been through plenty ofchurch hurt, church splits.
So I've been through a churchsplit.
I've been through plenty ofchurch hurt.
Actually, everything I'mstreaming from now on,
everything I am Talking about onthis podcast, is live streaming
On TikTok.
So if you want to go to TikTokAt overopinionated, you can
follow me and see how I shootthe podcast.
(27:12):
You can actually see me talking.
I'll be taking breaks andgetting water and everything.
The TikTok will see that, butyou'll be paused.
But let's talk about church hurt.
So, as many of y'all know thathave listened to my show, I've
(27:34):
grown up in a church.
My grandfather is a Pentecostalholiness pastor, a Trinitarian.
My mom's side were a onenessPentecostal holiness, which I
believe in a heresy that saysthat God isn't part of a trinity
, and that is a heresy and it'sheartbreaking and I don't think
(28:00):
that means they're all damned tohell, but it's still
heartbreaking and concerning andI think many of them are misled
.
But let's talk about churchhurt.
Church hurt can hurt more thananything, and when I'm talking
(28:39):
about church hurt is someone inthe church or the church itself
was extremely hateful toward youor your family for something
that was not biblical that theyshould have been doing.
I remember one time I attendedmy grandfather's church and I
was in high school.
(28:59):
I wore New Balance tennis shoesand the way I get shoes is I
wear them everywhere.
They're my work shoes, they'remy church shoes.
I don't dress up the churchmost of the time.
Sometimes I will wear a poloand khakis or slacks.
Very, you know, easter andChristmas I'll dress up, maybe
(29:20):
wear a suit, but anyway I hadthese New Balance tennis shoes
and they had orange shoestrings.
They didn't look bad, it wassporty, but I had a polo on and
I remember someone saying it'slike, man, I wouldn't.
It's like how could you go tochurch wearing those tennis
(29:41):
shoes and that really?
hurt me because, man, I want togo worship God, see my
grandfather, and I heard themsay that Now that's not the
worst case scenario, but it is acase scenario.
Um, just stupid stuff.
The Bible.
And the Bible condemns that man, he, he condemns it and God
(30:01):
condemns it in the book of JamesI think it's the second chapter
.
You know, don't say to someonewith a shiny ring, come set up
front.
Someone with the better clothescome set up front.
And someone with the raggedyclothes in the back.
He said it doesn't matter whatkind of clothes you have, as
long as it's modest, right, wearwhatever clothes you want to
and worship God.
(30:22):
But that hurt.
That's a small church hurt.
I came from a church split, where it was really when we
moved to Giles County after thedivorce and dad got remarried.
There's a church that was inthe middle of town and that's
(30:45):
the church I got saved in.
It's a church I got baptized inalmost 10 years ago next week
and our pastor moved away and wegot another pastor to come in.
I even stood up and I said youknow, we've been interviewing
all these pastors and givingthem a trial.
I think you should hire him.
(31:06):
Looking back on it, I shouldn'thave done that.
For the first two years itwasn't awful.
Then he got so power hungry.
If you literally he said, ifyou didn't obey him or listen to
what he was saying that youwere sinning, you were sinning
against him, you were sinningagainst God, because God
(31:29):
appointed him.
He was the authority of thechurch and I believe in
spiritual authority.
Right, I believe you shouldlisten to your pastor, listen to
your authority, but if yourpastor's telling you to do
something outside his purview, Idon't think you have to listen
to that, you don't.
He replaced the board members.
The old board members left andthen when he got his board
(31:52):
members in, when they wereelected, he controlled the whole
church.
The whole church went south.
Man, it just there's a lot ofhurt from that man.
Now, a lot of us went up on thehill, as he called it.
I remember there was a sermon.
One of my sister's friends senta clip of the sermon.
(32:13):
It was like why don't you go upon the hill?
It's a literal hill where westart going to church because we
all knew the pastor from thechurch split.
After our church split in half, half of the church went to the
church on the hill because weall knew the pastor and he's a
great godly man.
(32:33):
I love that pastor but I stilltalk to him occasionally.
But uh, man, um, I rememberthat half of us left and went to
that church on the hill but itwas hard.
I grew up in that church.
I, from elementary school allthe way to high school, even I
(32:53):
fought to stay in that churchfor over a year when I knew
things weren't weren't beingdone biblically, when we were
going into the new apostolicreformation crap, when we were
um cause, we were charismaticyou know, independent
charismatic church when we weregoing into that new apostolic
reformation crap, when we weregoing into that new apostolic
(33:14):
reformation crap, where we weregoing into um, more hyper
charismaticism, which I'magainst um, and I knew it was
unbiblical.
But, man, for a whole year Itried I mean I and I, I I was
going for a lot of anxiety.
I was talking to this pastor.
He's helping me.
I felt a call in my life that Iwanted to go and preach for the
(33:37):
Lord and uh, you know, Ichallenged him on a few things
biblically.
I thought he was wrong on Umand he, you know, he told me
that I was not called to preachand I, even for a part of me, I
believed him.
It's like, maybe I'm not calledto preach, I have depression, I
(33:59):
have anxiety and maybe he'sright, maybe I'm not called to
preach, but that pastor had noright to tell me that.
None, he wasn't there to help me.
He wasn't there to help me whenI was at my weakest point, and
part of it, I think, was becauseI challenged him on a few
(34:20):
things that he was doingunbiblically.
But I had a true heart for theLord and I needed help, I needed
spiritual guidance and he letme drown and I'm not the only
one he just let drownspiritually.
I saw him right after I gotmarried.
I had my car inspected, um, andhe was he's a part-time
(34:43):
mechanic and, uh, I went to thisgarage and he's doing some
part-time work.
It's just real awkward.
Um, I wasn't mean to him.
I wasn't mean to him, he wasn'tmean to me.
We just said hi and everything.
I just, uh, waited in there, let my car be inspected and, uh,
I went on my merry way.
I've heard that he's repentedfrom a lot of things I I would
(35:08):
like to you know, um, there'ssome.
I didn't leave the church theway I should have.
There are some sinful parts onmy end, um, even though I was
mostly in the right and eventhough I was a lot younger, as
junior, doing some spiritualthings, um, that was um,
(35:31):
spiritually I I think I was morein the right, but I should have
left better.
I shouldn't have um publiclycalled the church a cult, even
though it was getting very culty.
But I was hurt, man, I was hurtI.
I put years and years and yearsinto this church.
It is the church I grew up in,the church my sisters were born
(35:53):
in.
I grew up in the church.
My sisters were born in, notliterally, but um, you know,
they were born when they startedgoing there.
Man, I, as a church, I went toyouth group in the church.
I got saved in the church.
I got baptized in Um and man,he, just he, ripped my heart out
(36:14):
.
Every time I drive past thatchurch it breaks my heart
because I know it's not the samechurch.
It's not the church I left,it's not the church I grew up in
.
Um, and it hurts, but I know,um, I know that wasn't God's
(36:36):
fault, I know it was man's fault, I know it was the pride of
that pastor and not only him, some other people that were
following along with him.
That hurt me, but God didn'thurt me.
God's still good.
God is still love.
It wasn't God that did that, itwas man.
(37:01):
And it's just a building.
It's a building I still feelbad about every time I pass it.
I don't pass it as much becauseI don't live in Pearsburg
anymore.
They changed the name of thechurch and my stepmom told me
that they changed the name ofthe church.
Part of me it broke my heartand then a part of me I shook my
(37:24):
head.
I was like, well, I'm glad theydid, because I said the
church's original name.
I said that church that I wentto.
It doesn't exist anymore, notthere.
So I'm glad they changed thename of the church to wherever
or whatever they did, becausethe church that I grew up in,
(37:48):
with its name, that name, meansa lot to me.
And, um, and it's just abuilding now and listen, there's
good people that still go there.
There are saved people thatstill go there.
I try my best and I've asked Godto help me and I think he is
(38:09):
slowly, not slowly on my part, not on God's part.
I have to ask God and say, man, forgive me, help me to forgive
this pastor Because he hurt me.
Help me to forgive him and helpme to forgive other things in
(38:31):
my life.
Man, it even hurts my heart totalk about now.
I hope I'm not committing tosin talking about this.
I don't think I am, but, um, Ithink it.
It just hurts.
It hurts to lose your ownchurch like that and get it
ripped from you.
You know, um, give me onesecond guys.
(38:51):
But yeah, um, I rememberthere's also one girl that was
man, she's in and out ofhomosexuality and she her.
She had a mom that went to herchurch and she hated me and her
kid didn't like me.
She might not have claimed tohate me, maybe she didn't, but
(39:14):
she she definitely seemed likeshe hated me.
Because I would say this iswrong and this is a sin.
And then they would bring upwell, you're overweight, well,
you've, you've watched this onthe internet, or blah, blah,
blah, just coming up with somany excuses, but they would
celebrate sin and that love islove crap.
(39:36):
And I love, I want to loveeveryone, even homosexuals.
But what God's word says iswrong is wrong, it is.
That doesn't mean we hate them, but, man, they just said some
hurtful things to me and I'msure that they thought I was
being hurtful, but I was tryingto help them in love, especially
(39:59):
their daughter and man.
You can love people that aredeep in sin, but don't condone
their sin.
Don't tell them that theirsin's okay, it's not okay.
Don't condone their sin.
Don't tell them that theirsin's okay, it's not okay, it's
bad for them.
I'm an overweight guy.
(40:19):
I know that I've struggled withmy weight my entire life.
I might struggle with it untilI die.
That doesn't mean I'm proud ofit.
I'm not.
I'm not proud of it.
I think they're a little bitdifferent of sins, because I
don't take pride in it.
I don't fly a fat pride flagaround and I don't say this is
(40:39):
my identity.
I say God, I know I'moverweight.
Please forgive me for my sin.
I'm sorry, help me to eatbetter, help me to do better.
Sometimes, some days I do, somedays I don't.
It's a struggle, a struggle,but um, you know, I don't take
pride in that sin.
And when, if you're overweight,if you ever call out someone's
(41:02):
sin, they're gonna do well.
Well, you, you use more than twonotches on your belt loop,
they're gonna do it and yeah,I'm a big, I'm a big dude, but,
um, that doesn't meanhomosexuality is okay, it's not.
It's not.
God condemns it.
(41:23):
Multiple times he said god willjudge the nations based on how
they react to this.
I mean, and god loveshomosexuals.
He died for homosexuals and Ithink you can struggle with
homosexuality and still go toheaven.
I know you can, because thesame God that helped me, the
(41:47):
same God that's helping me withmy sexual sins okay, I'm married
, it's not like I'm onlyattracted to one woman the same
God that constantly helps mewhen I might have a unappealing
look to someone, is the same Godthat'll help a homosexual.
And you're going to fall, you're going to slip up.
(42:09):
And if they fall and they watchnasty stuff on the internet,
god still loves them and he'llstill forgive them.
All that means is you have tohumble yourself and ask God for
forgiveness.
God will help you in your sin.
I don't think if you diestruggling with a sin, you go to
hell.
I don't believe that when Jesussaid it's finished, he meant it
(42:33):
.
He didn't just mean you betterhave all your sins and your
ducks in a row before you die oryou're going to hell.
No, repentance means turningyour body, turning your mind
from that evil, sin, nature, giving your heart to God.
I mean, I went on a tangentthere but, man, they hurt me A
(42:57):
lot of the things that my momhad to grow up hearing.
That hurt her.
Now this is talking about thePentecostal Oneness Church,
which is a heresy.
It's a heresy because God hasrevealed himself as a trinity.
And I don't say that with hate,I say that with man a broken
(43:22):
heart.
I love my oneness family and Ithink some of them are going to
heaven, despite what crap theyhave been taught.
And I think some of them taughtand I think some of them, if
they, if they reject God andthey say you know, you're not a
(43:43):
real Christian because youbelieve in Trinity, they reject
God.
I mean, then I think thatthey're going down the path to
hell.
And, man, that hurts me to say,it hurts me to say, because
that's a lot of my family on mymom's side.
But I'm praying and I'mthankful for God's sovereign
love.
I am.
(44:04):
But you know, talking aboutchurch hurt.
A lot of church hurt came fromthat side of the family when my
mom was trying to get close togod and she would hear um, you
know, you can come to church butyou can't sing in the choir.
(44:26):
You can come to church but youcan't do anything other than
come to church because you'vebeen married three times,
because you have a tattoo, because this or that or this or
that that hurts people.
And Jesus condemned sacrificialsins.
You think about the woman atthe well, jesus, the woman's
(44:51):
getting a drink at the well.
Jesus said you know, if youdrink of me, you won't be
thirsty again.
And Jesus asked the woman.
He said where's your husband?
And she said I don't have ahusband.
He said you're right, you'vehad five husbands and the man
(45:13):
you're shacking up with now isnot even your husband.
That's harsh.
But he also loved her.
This is the first person heever told that he was the
Messiah to.
He loved her.
(45:34):
He loved this woman that's beenmarried five times and was
living in fornication with.
He loved her, he sought her.
He went out of his way to talkto her.
A Samaritan, no less, that Jewsdid not like went out of his
way to tell him, to tell herthat he was the Messiah and if
(45:58):
she drunk of his water, if shedrunk of him, she wouldn't
thirst again.
And she went and she told thecity man, that's a beautiful
story.
Jesus loved this woman who wasmarried five times and was
shacking up with a guy.
She wasn't married to man.
A lot of the red pillars andandrew taters be like oh well,
(46:19):
god won't forgive her.
She did, she done the only Fand woo, woo, woo, shut up.
You don't know how powerful Godis.
The same God that loved thewoman that was married five
times and in the fornication andtold her I'm the Messiah, come
(46:46):
to me.
It's the same God that canforgive homosexuals.
And told her I'm the Messiah, come to me.
It's the same God that canforgive homosexuals.
It's the same God that canforgive people that struggle for
gluttony, people that strugglewith this or that or that.
And you're going to sit thereand just tell my mom that she
can't be in the choir Becauseshe's been married more than
(47:08):
once or she has a tattoo.
Man, they want to go back toGod.
And these jerk people whohaven't opened up their Bibles.
They put their stipulations onthem, ones that God hasn't put
on.
They don't realize that God canforgive all sins.
(47:31):
Man, church hurt sucks, itsucks.
And if you've been hurt bychurch hurt, if you're listening
to me on TikTok, if you'relistening to me on Spotify,
wherever, let me tell yousomething God didn't try to.
God didn't hurt you.
It was man, and not allchurches are like that.
(47:55):
Now, in every church there'sprobably a crappy person.
I'll admit that that doesn'tmean you stop going to church.
In every school there's acrappy person.
In every school there's acrappy person.
In every gym there's a crappyperson.
In every hospital.
Any line of work anywhere inlife, there's going to be crappy
(48:19):
people.
Don't stop pursuing your goals.
Don't stop going liftingweights because there's someone
laughing at you and, yeah, thathurts.
I'm a big guy.
I know how it is to go to thegym and not feel comfortable,
but you still try to go.
Don't go to school becausesomeone's laughing at you,
(48:40):
because you missed a question.
You still got to go to school.
So don't stop going to church, okay, and maybe pray for that
person.
Like they are lost, likethey're going to hell, because
they might be and they mightneed your love through your
prayers.
(49:02):
You know, I was thinking aboutthis.
King Saul was God's rightfulking at the time, and King Saul
had a servant king who wouldlater be king, king David, and
King Saul tried to kill David, david ran away.
(49:27):
That was God's king, hisanointed king.
That was God's king.
But David didn't blame God, heblamed the man.
And when David had a chance totake out King Saul, he didn't do
it.
He cut a part of his garmentoff.
(49:47):
At the end, when King Saul wasusing the restroom in a cave
relieving himself, he cut thegarment off in the cave and he
showed it to King Saul and hesaid I had the opportunity to
take you out, but I didn'tbecause I know your God's
anointed.
Now I'm not saying, I'm notcomparing King Saul to a bad
(50:14):
pastor.
If you, if there's a pastor outthere that's being abusive and
everything, I encourage you togo to another church.
Reach out to me, reach out tosomeone that you trust in the
faith, but have that sameattitude David did and say this
was not God's fault, it wasman's fault.
(50:36):
So this is your Bible verse ofthe day.
I'm going to read it from theNIV, 1 Samuel, chapter 24, and
we'll talk about it.
Verse 1.
After Saul returned frompursuing the Philistines, he was
told David is in the desert ofAngol.
I mispronounced that place name, forgive me.
(50:58):
So Saul took 3,000 young, ablemen from all Israel and sent out
to look for David and his mennear the crags of the wild goats
.
He came to the sheep's penalong the way.
A cave was there and Saul wentin to relieve himself.
(51:18):
David and his men were far backin the cave.
(51:41):
The men said David wasconsciously strucken for cutting
off a corner of his robe.
He said to his men the Lordforbid that I should do such a
thing to my master, the Lordanointed.
Or lay on my hand on him, forhe is in the anointed of the
(52:02):
Lord.
For these words, david sharplyrebuked his men and did not
allow them to attack Saul, andSaul left the cave and went his
way.
This shows a few things.
Now I can see a pastor misusingthis and saying Well, even if I
am wrong, I'm God's anointed,you can't touch me.
(52:23):
There's a very grain of truthto that, but you can misuse that
wrongfully.
What I think this is saying isnumber one show respect to who
God has appointed.
Number two it shows that God.
(52:44):
It shows that David didn't.
I think that this also showsthat David didn't blame God for
the crap Saul was doing, becausehe didn't say look how evil
Saul is, god must hate me Now.
He showed respect to theanointed king God put in place,
(53:05):
that's true, but he also wasrunning away, okay, so do I
think if a pastor is being ajerk in a sermon, you should
stand up and rebuke him?
No, the only time I think heshould do that is when he's
doing heresy.
That is totally against God'sword.
That will lead someone to hell.
Okay, but I think you shouldjust leave, like David did.
(53:28):
Try to get away from thesituation.
Don't talk bad about them.
Don't do this or that.
Notice, when I did this podcast, it might be a little risky,
but I never mentioned the nameof my old church.
Now, if you press me, you canfind it easy.
I'm not going to deny anything.
I didn't use the name of thepastor because some people won't
(53:52):
know and some people won't goout there to try to get that
information, and that's a goodthing.
You shouldn't so.
I'm not trying to dishonor thatpastor.
I'm also not going to hide awayfrom the story that happened to
me.
I'm also not going to hide awayfrom the story that happened to
me, and that's just one event.
(54:13):
So church hurt man, it sucks.
Try to stay away from thepitfall of saying there are fake
people in church.
I'm going to stay away from God.
Okay, if you do that, thenthere's fake people everywhere.
(54:33):
Everywhere you go, there's fakepeople.
You don't want to get in thatpit hole.
You don't want to get in thatpit hole, guys, worship God.
Run back to him, just like theprodigal son man.
When the father saw theprodigal son was broken, he was
going back to the father.
The father ran to the prodigalson and wrapped his arms around
(54:56):
him.
I think God will do that foryou.
I know he will.
I love you guys.
I plan on having some bettershows.
I plan on having more updatedshows.
I plan on having more updatedshows.
Please forgive me, I've beensick.
I want to do better.
We got the 2024 election we gotto cover.
(55:18):
We got more biblical topics wehave to cover.
Maybe we go more in-depth inBible topics.
We didn't go too far in-depth.
I just gave you part of atestimony testimony, so I hope
that helps someone out.
I want to say God bless you.
I love all of you and pleasehave a great day.
In Jesus name.
See you later.
