Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the
Paradise.
New Podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
In the professional
development space, we talk a lot
about habits, about how do weacquire those behaviors that we
can regularly follow with ease, but we have one month left of
2023.
The easiest place to see whereyour habits are, if you feel
like you don't understand yourhabits, is to simply look back
and say, okay, well, what habitshave I created in the last 11
(00:26):
months for myself, with my money, with my exercise or fitness,
with my relationships, rightEven career?
This is a big one.
What sort of habits have formedin our career or our business?
What kind of habits have youcreated around your weight, your
health, self-talk, thoughts,even hiding?
This is a big one for women.
What kind of habits have youcreated around hiding or
speaking up for yourself, orboundaries or people pleasing
(00:48):
different sides of the spectrum?
And so I feel like that is areally great place for people to
start is to say I don't evenmaybe understand my habits
because they are on autopilot.
Cool, take a pause.
Look back on the 11 months, look at your life, look at your
environment and see what'saround, and then simply
recognize that's just a habitpattern.
And then I would like to invitepeople to consider what is the
(01:11):
number one habit you couldcreate for yourself to bring you
the biggest impact in your lifeor business in 2024.
Because creating that habitactually starts now, not on
January 1st but now You'relistening to the Paradigm you
Podcast.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
You're about to start
transforming your life by
growing your mind and expandingyour paradigms.
Here we'll cover real lifetopics, just like the stuff
you'd share with a good friend.
This podcast will serve uptopics that weigh on our hearts
and keep us up at night, whetherit's navigating parenthood and
becoming an adult or wayfindingperson, of development, marriage
and money.
You, my friend, are in theright place.
I'm glad you're here.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
All right, well,
welcome to the Paradigm you
Podcast.
This is a really exciting week.
I'm so excited because we arewrapping up the series on
harnessing the power of yoursubconscious, and what better
topic to wrap it up than yourhabits?
My friends, let me just beclear your habits define your
(02:06):
environment.
Your environment, your currentlife, is a reflection of the
habits that you do or do nothave present in your life.
So if you're wanting to changesomething, changing your habits
is going to be the key.
So today, lisa and I are goingto talk to you about our current
experiences with habits.
We're going to do it in alittle bit of a more unique way.
(02:29):
So, lisa, you ready?
We're going to do a little bitmore of a raw recording this
week and we're going to justtalk.
We're going to talk about ourhabits, what has supported us,
what needs to be recalibratedand where to go from here.
All right, lisa, what do youthink?
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Like this is what's
been on my heart, because I'm
like what kind of habits have Ibeen witnessing for myself the
last 11 months, especially withour partnership right, and what
kind of ripple effect does thathave in my life?
And then, what habits haveformed out of that which you
know, habits only have themeaning that we give it and
that's maybe a topic for anotherday.
But, yeah, what's come out ofit for you?
(03:09):
When you reflect so muchgreatness, I mean growth, and
it's interesting to when youreally do get pushed outside
your comfort zone, you start tosee all the old habits come up
and how some still serve you andsome definitely don't and just
need to go away.
But having the awareness andthe ability to say these old
(03:31):
habits serve me to now, but if Icontinue them, I am going to
continue to have the sameoutcome that I've always had and
that's going to be for me inbusiness, that meant burnout.
I'm going to radically burnout.
I'm going to burn down mybusiness.
I'm going to burn throughrelationships.
I'm going to not be presentwith my family and have distance
(03:53):
there with my kids, and I don'twant any of that now.
And so what does that look like?
No-transcript how, what, whatnew habit needs to form to get
the biggest return?
The one habit, the singularfocus, the mono task that I can
concentrate on.
What is it?
It's?
It's something aroundorganization and how to roll
things out.
I'm typically one to sprint andso like let's have this huge
(04:17):
goal and let's sprint towards it, versus all right, let's, let's
continue to like, keep buildingthe programs and our clients
and our followers, while alsobuilding the strong foundation
for the business.
You know, I usually build theprogram and the followers and
then try to like catch up withthe other stuff, and that is a
(04:38):
way to launch a business, nodoubt, but I've just done it
that way so often that it justdoesn't stick long term for me,
because at some point you're sobusy you just don't have time to
catch up to the otherfoundational things, and so it
just kind of drives me crazy.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
How about you?
Everything you just said is soapplicable to so many people.
That's why the majority ofbusinesses fail in the first
five years.
Yeah, everything you just saidis the reason that most people
who get into business can't getit off the ground far enough to
create sustainability.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
You know there's this
concept in business I know
you've heard a million timeswhich is you know, build the
ship once you launch or buildthe airplane as you're flying.
There's some truth to that, butI've just learned that I can't
always do that right.
There are certain elements ofthe business that you can't
constantly be doing that with.
You know there's things behindthe scenes that really need to
(05:37):
be in place.
It doesn't mean you can'tchange the tech platforms or
evolve those things as you grow.
It just means just pause a hotsecond.
I'm not even talking about afancy website or any of that
that you don't need when youfirst launch, especially as a
coach or a consultant, but whatyou do need.
I think it's important, especially for me now at this
(06:00):
phase, to just say let me learnfrom my past Again.
Those habits taught me whathappens, and so now I can build
different and new habits tocreate a different result.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
I appreciate you.
This is so good and this is soapplicable to so many
entrepreneurs and for women inparticular.
They don't spend a whole lot oftime looking back and
reflecting.
It's constantly the lookingforward, and that's actually not
just women in particular, Ithink everybody.
But I think women have thislike I got to keep going.
(06:33):
I got to keep going, I got tolook at what's next instead of
pausing and celebrating.
So when you just said, I knowwhat my patterns are, I can see
the path that I've been on andnow I can see how to tweak and
adjust it to get that maximumefficiency, that's just exciting
.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
It is, and it's a fun
space to go.
Okay, I'm capable and willingto do this differently and to
enjoy that process.
I think so often we can makethat work drudgery like, oh, I'm
trying to be someone, I'm notor I don't know.
We make up all these crazystories that keep us in our
little box and to keep us hiding, and none of it's true, it's
(07:17):
just a habit.
It's just what do you want?
And sometimes you can't seethose patterns because you're
too in it and you don't havepeople around you.
And so that's why I've beengrateful for the women in
elevate when they speak up andask questions and they're
willing to see somethingdifferent and willing to do
something different.
You know, sometimes you justneed that partner.
(07:38):
Like you apes, I need you.
You're always pointing the way,oh gosh.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Well, it's
interesting that you say that,
because I feel like, as we'regrowing our business, I'm not
pausing long enough to look back.
So this conversation is justsuch a good reminder to just say
okay, let's look at where we'vebeen, what we've done, what's
worked and what hasn't, and whatwe want differently this time,
because we get to choose.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
It's a great time of
year for it.
If all we're doing at thisphase of the year is reflecting
back to recognize patterns andidentify what we want, moving
forward, especially as businessowners, but equally as human
beings, moving forward into 2024, you're winning.
This isn't a time of year to belaunching a million new things
(08:26):
and running yourself ragged.
This is a time especially we'rehere in the Midwest, where it's
cold.
This is a hibernating time, atime to go inside and be
reflective.
It's a powerful time and it'sone that, if you use it well and
if you are able to really honethe ability of habits,
especially with subconsciousreprogramming, as we've been
(08:48):
talking about all month, 2024 isgoing to be a phenomenal year.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
I really liked what
you said about looking back.
This is the time to pause andbe reflective and turn inward.
You're absolutely right withseasonality.
We're all.
I mean that's what plants aredoing right now.
They're going inward, they'relike regrouping and just taking
(09:12):
a pause to just let it all kindof wash through you so that you
can actually start next year.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
well, but going back
to your analogy about the plants
.
I was thinking about that theother day and I thought the
trees without leaves they're notthere judging themselves right
now, this time of year.
They're just like.
I'm just doing my thing, I'm inmy natural cycle, I will come
back in spring, and so I thinkthe ability as humans and
(09:42):
business owners and women torelease the judgment oof what if
we just looked back ateverything and looked at our
habits in 2023 and it was simplydata.
It just showed us what we weredoing or not doing.
That's it.
That's it.
That's all it is, and then wecan just choose how to tweak the
(10:03):
data For some that might feelright.
No judgment, and for some thatmight feel impersonal.
For me that just takes thejudgment and shame around it.
That's so many people feel.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
And I'm guessing a
lot of people are myself
included.
When you're in more groupsettings, which I know, I feel
like I'm more exposed todifferent groups and different
people this time of year, andthen it I wouldn't even say it's
a judgment.
It's more of a comparison.
(10:36):
Yeah, like oh, which then leadsto judgment right, right,
you're like, oh, okay, well, they're doing this, well have,
why am I not doing that?
Yes, what am I doing wrong?
Yes, so you know what you wantand you've identified where
you're being met with resistance.
Now it's time to start applyingthose habits, or releasing the
(11:00):
habits, so that you can moveforward into what you want and
recalibrate.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Is it specifically
the habit of subconscious
reprogramming, or what, what?
What specific tool?
Speaker 4 (11:12):
I love that, but that
wasn't where I was going.
Okay, it was more of how do wetie this topic of habits into
the series that we namedsubconscious reprogramming.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
I mean, I think I
think calling that out like this
is this this whole series hasled to this moment.
If you want 2024 to bedifferent, based on looking back
at your 2023, then the onehabit so right, like okay.
So I'm asking, I'm asking ourlisteners hey, consider what the
number one habit is that youcould create for yourself to
(11:47):
bring you the biggest impactnext year in your life or your
business, whatever you'refocusing on and the spoiler here
, listeners, is that it'ssubconscious reprogramming.
That is the number one habit, right there.
So lean into that, figure outwhere and how and when you're
(12:08):
going to do that and stick withus, because this is what elevate
our program is all about.
We're running two of them againin the new year, so this is
where the number one habit comesinto play.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
On that note, cheers
to Good Karma.
It's closing time.
