The film blends Scotland’s quick-witted humor with classic monster horror tropes for a universally entertaining experience. Gearing up for full production next year and are actively seeking investment to bring the full vision to life. Right now, one of our biggest goals is to demonstrate the film’s international appeal through engagement with the trailer.

Alessio Avezzano - Producer and Director of Midgies

Alessio is a UK-based filmmaker recognized for his award-winning work and viral videos.

Born in Italy, and raised in Glasgow, Alessio began his career as a self-shooting documentary director. He then went on to gain popularity with his YouTube sketch series, "Mamahuhu," after which he became an established commercial director, working with notable brands such as Irn Bru, Ikea, BMW, Range Rover, Bacardi, Leica, and Porsche.

Alessio's commercial work was predominant until 2022, when he made his television debut as the writer and director of the BBC sitcom, "Islelanders." The pilot went on to win 'Best in Writing' at the Stareable Pilot Festival 2023 in NYC.
