This week is about sex (bayybee)! Kaila talks with sex, intimacy, and relationship coach Azaria Menezes about how a couple's bedroom relationship tends to down shift once a baby comes home to stay. Sure, you most likely had sex to make that precious baby a reality, but now you're telling me that we are supposed to feel intimate...again? With this new postpartum body I barely recognize and sure as hell don't feel comfortable in yet? With a temporarily napping baby who could wake up and ruin the mood any second? Not to mention the fact that most parents are touched out, burnt out, and just plain tired so any type of intimacy tends to fall to the very bottom of the To Do List. Pun very much intended.
While breaking down the facts about what it means to be a parent and also a human being who wants to get down with the get down occasionally, Azaria highlights the importance of honoring your body's wants and needs, whatever they may be, while getting creative with what it means to be intimate with your partner. Because yes, since you've become a parent you are short on time, patience, energy, you name it. But that doesn't mean that your love life should suck.
Parenting and telling about it.
