I love the sound of the trainin the background.
Love the OJs.

(01:26):
nationally, internationally.

Thank you for being a part ofour Pats Peeps audience.
Can you hear the train?
Let me open the other door.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Hold up.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Hold up now Can you
hear that Love the sound of that
train going by here on PatsPeeps 210.
I just thought we would sharesome Valentine's Day stuff.
So many of you listen to that.
Many of you are, you know, really pay attention to
(02:16):
Valentine's Day.
Many of you are like, yeah, whatever, I always see that guy
at the 7-Eleven.
I mean I haven't been at a7-Eleven in a while, no offense
to 7-Eleven.
I mean, I haven't been at a7-Eleven in a while, no offense
to 7-Eleven.
But there's always that guy whoyou know he's getting like a
six-pack of beer and some chewand then he realizes for some
(02:39):
reason it's Valentine's Day andbecause he sees that, you know,
sees that flower by the cashregister, it's got that
cellophane on it.
Oh, it's Valentine's Day.
Better get me a flower from myold lady.
Don't be that person.
Some people, you knowValentine's Day can be seen like
(03:00):
a positive opportunity toexpress appreciation and love
for your partner.
Other people said, yeah, youknow, hooey, it's a hallmark
holiday, criticized for itsexcessive commercialism and
potential to make singles feelexcluded and pressure to spend
(03:22):
large amounts of money on giftsrather than focusing on genuine
connection.
Oh, please, come on, that isjust so old, although my
sister-in-law, my sister rightaway this morning, said the same
thing.
I mean, these are two ladies.
All guys think that, and thisincludes me, and I can't say all
(03:43):
guys.
I take that back.
But me and many guys feel like, hey, it's Valentine's Day and I
want to do something for myloved one, my partner.
She deserves it, whether it'syour girlfriend, your wife,
whatever you know.
And what's wrong with that?
I mean, come on, I hear thatabout Mother's Day Day too, and
(04:04):
Father's Day it's a Hallmarkholiday.
What is Hallmark not allowed tomake a living?
I mean, their cards are reallyexpensive.
Now I will say that it's like$6.99 for a card, but you know
it's a nice card.
Yeah, you'll spend twice thaton a Big Mac.
Think about it when you put itin perspective.
And I hear that criticism allthe time.
So let's run through thecriticism real quick.
(04:25):
Excessive commercialism, Really.
You mean like Christmas or, Idon't know, halloween or Easter.
You can say excessivecommercialism about any holiday.
So come on with that Potentialto make singles feel excluded.
(04:47):
Well, hey, look, why would youfeel excluded?
I mean, if you're single, you've either chosen to be
single, maybe you just haven'tmet the right person, but you're
going to.
Really, I feel so excluded.
Well, I have a girlfriend butwe're not married.
But you know, I mean, if I weresingle?
(05:08):
Believe me, I've been singlemany, many times and never one
single time have I felt excludedon Valentine's Day.
And I sure don't get butthurtover that, like, oh no, I'm
missing out.
Pressure to spend large amountsof money on gifts no, come on.
No, there's really not.
I don't believe that.
I mean, you can go out and getthe sweetest, nicest things.
(05:33):
If you're looking to buysomething for your sweetheart,
you know, for me, even like oneof those really old, that would
be the most cool thing.
One of those, really thosevintage Halloween cards like we
used to pass out back in the daywhen we were in elementary
school.
Anyone remember that?
Remember your mom?
You'd go to the store likethrifties or what have you, and
(05:54):
you'd buy the Valentine's Daycards and the really old
fashioned ones which I justadore, and then you'd sit at the
dining room table you'd fillthem out.
I always felt weary when I was akid, like I didn't want to give
a Valentine's day card to a boy.
(06:15):
But I don't think that's whyyou're doing.
I think you're just doing.
I think did we give them toother boys?
I don't even remember.
Maybe I don't know, maybe wejust gave them to girls.
I really don't remember thatexactly.
But what I do remember is likeyou would try to like there
might be a girl in your classyou had a crush on April Morgan,
cheryl Bandy there was a fewthat I had a crush on and you'd
(06:42):
get that special Valentine's Daycard and you'd write something
real nice on there and rememberthen you'd have like a we'd all
make bags, valentine's Day bags, and then hang them up and then
you would just go and drop yourcard, each person's card, into
their bag.
Boy, that brings back greatmemories.
(07:03):
It was always the opportunity Ifelt to let this girl know that
I really liked her.
You know I had a crush on her.
Can't remember if it everworked, I mean.
So, come on, I mean you knowfocusing, I honestly believe you
could buy one of those littlecards.
You don't even have to buyflowers, you could do.
Maybe it's something during theyear that she mentioned that.
(07:25):
Oh, I always wanted that orsomething special and you just
jot that down.
You remember that and you knowyou go get that for Valentine's
Day, whatever it is.
You just do something special, make her dinner.
Just something to show that.
Now, for those of you who goyeah, I know, like Mr T Ha ha,
(07:45):
happy Valentine's Day, fool, mrT.
Mr T feels like you should dothis every single day of the
year.
That's the first thing you know.
Believe it, or?
Speaker 4 (07:53):
not, you know.
Instead of going out buyingthose little heart-shaped
candles, give your girlfriend oryour wife a box of Snickers.
You see what I mean.
They last a long time andnothing like chewing on that
caramel in the nuts.
I'll tell you, it's good, itlasts longer.
And plus, here's a tip for Mr TValentine's Day really should
be every day.
(08:13):
I pity the fool who would haveto wait until Valentine's Day to
tell his girlfriend or wifethat he loves her and buy a box
of candy.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
He should do that
every day.
Yeah, don't just do it onValentine's Day, says Mr T.
Yeah, no, I mean, he's right,that's true.
You should do that every day, yes, just like you should let
your you know if you have yourparents still with you.
Let them know how much you lovethem all the time.
But I still don't see anythingwrong with taking the one day
(08:43):
and making a deal out of it.
And so what?
So Hallmark makes a living offof that Big deal.
Look at how many smiles havebeen shared through a Hallmark
card.
I have so many of them that Isaved.
Maybe you don't, but I savethem for my mom, my dad, my
friends.
People are no longer with us.
Some do argue Valentine's Dayprovides a dedicated day to
(09:04):
intentionally show affection andcan encourage acts of kindness
beyond just romanticrelationships.
You know it's a promotesexpressions of love.
I love this song, by the way.
Expressions of love, positivereinforcement, telling your
partner how much you care I knowyou should do that every day
(09:27):
Strengthens relationships, andit includes them on a holiday
just because they're yoursweetie.
Nils Lofgren, I don't own thesong, but I think you'll love it
.
It's my most underratedValentine's Day song.
Pat's Peeps 210.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Today I'm thinking
about the world we live in and
all the love and hate that'sfloating around, and all the
times I felt so lost andhelpless.
You stood by me.
You never let me down.
Still, I keep throwing up thesewalls, most of them I build
(10:22):
with stone.
You tear them down and bridgethe distance, knowing we ain't
here to be alone.
So let your blue's open wide.
Let's never leave our dreamsbehind.
(10:45):
It will comfort and restore mypride If you let me be your
valentine.
Our differences are part oflife.
Still, love will pass the testof time.
(11:05):
I want you every day and night.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Girl, won't you be my
valentine?
So what if Valentine's Day is ahallmark holiday?
The flowers, the cards,chocolate, celebrating
Valentine's Day can enhance arelationship in meaningful ways.
It could last for a long time.
You'll be my Valentine.
Any excuse to make yourrelationship priority will
(11:32):
result in a healthier, happierone, right?
It serves as a nice reminderthat the relationship should be
a priority to you, not just aromantic type.
Make the little gift, the card, the little sappy stuff.
It serves as a reminder to beintentional.
You can get comfortable after acouple years Slack off.
Should I keep throwing up?
Speaker 2 (11:55):
these walls, most of
them I've built with stone, if
you tear them down and bridgethe distance, knowing we ain't
here to be alone.
So let your blue heart openwide.
(12:18):
Let's never leave our dreamsbehind.
It will confidently store mypride, if you let me be your
Valentine.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
You know that
romantic stuff's only necessary
in the beginning, right?
No, you can say that, or we'rein a Well.
It's only necessary in thebeginning, right?
No, you can say that, or we'rein a Well, it's only important
in the beginning.
We're in a place in ourrelationship.
We don't need to celebrate allthe holidays.
Why Never?
Stop trying to impress, tryingto woo your partner.
(12:55):
Stop trying to impress, tryingto woo your partner.
It's a great time to go back tothose days when that was an
important thing.
Wooing, remind yourself of thereasons you love your
significant other.
What's wrong with pointing itout?
(13:20):
Nils Lofgren, that's a greatone.
Pat's Peeps.
Pat's Peeps 210.
Hope you're enjoying your day.
Speaker 5 (13:29):
Y'all know what I
heard on today's show.
Do y'all know who Donnie Doitchis?
That name's hard to say.
Doitch the big idea.
Donnie Doitch, he's some bigadvertising guy that's done like
Nike.
I don't know what all he's done, but anyway, nice looking man.
He was on the Today Show withMatt Lauer and all them.
They were talking aboutValentine's and they said that
men really don't care aboutValentine's Day, that women,
(13:52):
it's more for women, and thatyou need to buy your wife and
girlfriend you know nifty thingson Valentine's Day.
And they said what do men want?
And he said men want a woman todo nasty, vulgar things to them
.
And he said you know, do asurprise, like dress up in
(14:20):
something, an outfit, like anursing outfit or a French maid.
And I thought to myself, ifI've got on a French maid outfit
, I know, chuck.
He'd say, lynn, get some spicand span.
We're gonna fix thesebaseboards that you had washed
the whole time we lived there.
I'm gonna dust them and then Iwant you to go over them with
spic and span and then, justafter I had ruined my back after
a day of doing the baseboard, then he would come up to me and
(14:42):
try to Mount me.
I guess is what people say Isthat nasty?
I'm sorry, I don't mean that.
I'm sorry, I don't mean that.
Well, that's biblical.
I'm sorry, I don't mean that.
Speaker 6 (14:58):
Well, that's biblical
.
I'm married.
Nothing to do with your body oryour hands or anything gets us
excited.
But you know what would turn meon?
Honey, a little neatness, somehelp around the house Vacuum the
rug, fix that leaky faucet, clean the windows and, for God's
(15:22):
sakes, throw out them emptybeer cans.
And it would really turn me onif you would lift the seat
before pissing once in a while.
Now, that would make me hot.
Look, I'm sorry if I hurt yourfeelings.
I really love you.
Good night.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
Faster.
I've been really trying babyFaster.
Come on, oh, come on.
Let's get it on.
(16:19):
Let's get it on.
Let's love baby.
Let's get it on.
Sugar, let's get it on.
We're all sensitive people Withso much to give.
(16:49):
Understand each other.
Since we got to be, let's live.
I love you.
There's nothing wrong with meLoving you baby.
(17:13):
No, no, and giving yourself tome Can never be wrong, if the
love is true.
Oh, baby.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Ooh, ooh, ooh, let it
go.
True, that's Peeps 210,valentine's Day 2025.
And it's a Friday.
Ooh, ooh, ooh, valentine's Day2025.
And it's a Friday.
We heard Leigh-Anne Morgandoing some comedy.
(17:51):
Valentine's Day comedy, national Lampoon Radio Hour what
Women Really Want from theWhite Album and, of course, the
great, late, late great MarvinGaye.
Let's get it on.
(18:15):
Ooh, ooh, ooh, let's get it on.
You know, go retro on you.
You remember this one.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
How about a movie
tonight, huh.
Speaker 7 (18:26):
Wow, what's that
aftershave you're wearing?
Speaker 8 (18:29):
You.
High karate aftershave is sopowerful it drives women right
out of their minds.
That's why we have to putinstructions on self-defense in
every package.
Hi Karate, the brisk splash-onaftershave that smooths and
soothes and cools.
Hi Karate aftershave, cologneand gift sets.
Hi Karate.
(18:50):
Be careful how you use it.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
And you got me like
oh, what you want from me and
try to buy.
Speaker 7 (19:15):
You put it hard buy.
It's too high.
Baby, you got me like gold.
Your love will not fall apart.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
So you can put me to
death and throw me against the
wall.
Baby, you got me like I, I, Idon't you stop loving me don't
quit loving me, just stop lovingme oh and babe, I'm fist fine
(19:57):
with fire just to get close toyou, and I'll run for miles just
to get a taste.
Speaker 7 (20:15):
You know I'm so glad
I never got involved with you.
I just would have ended upbeing some woman.
You had to get up out of bedand leave at 3 o'clock in the
morning and go clean yourandirons, and you don't even
have a fireplace Not that Iwould know this.
Speaker 8 (20:27):
Why are you getting
so upset?
This is not about you.
Speaker 7 (20:29):
Yes, it is.
You are a human affront to allwomen, and I am a woman.
Speaker 8 (20:39):
Hey, I don't feel
great about this, but I don't
hear anyone complaining.
Speaker 7 (20:41):
Of course not.
You're out the door too fast.
I think they have an okay time.
Speaker 8 (20:43):
How do you know?
I mean, how do I know, I know.
Speaker 7 (20:46):
Because they.
Speaker 8 (20:48):
Yes, because they.
Speaker 7 (20:51):
How do you know that
they're really?
Speaker 8 (20:53):
What are you saying?
That they fake orgasm.
Speaker 7 (20:56):
It's possible Get out
of here why Most women, at one
time or another, have faked it.
Speaker 8 (21:02):
Well, they haven't
faked it with me.
Speaker 7 (21:04):
How do you know?
Because I know, oh Right,that's right, I forgot, you're a
man.
What was that?
Speaker 8 (21:16):
supposed to mean.
Speaker 7 (21:16):
Nothing.
It's just that all men are sureit never happened to them and
most women, at one time oranother, have done it.
So you do the math.
Speaker 8 (21:24):
You don't think that
I could tell a difference?
No, get out of here.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh oh
.
Speaker 6 (21:42):
Are you okay?
Oh, oh God.
Speaker 7 (21:49):
Oh, oh God, oh, oh,
oh, oh, oh God, oh God, oh yeah,
right there, oh, oh, oh, oh, ohGod, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,
(22:19):
yes, yes, oh, oh, oh, yes, yes, yes, oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes
, yes, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh God.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,oh, oh, I'll have what she's had
.
I wonder, wonder, who, who, who, who wrote the book of love?
Tell me, tell me, tell me whowrote the book of love.
Tell me, tell me, tell me whowrote the book of love.
I've got to know the answer.
(23:05):
Or is it someone?
Speaker 3 (23:06):
from afar.
I wonder, wonder, who wrote thebook of love.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
I love you, darling
Baby.
You know I do, but I've got tosee this book of love.
Find out why it's true.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
I wonder, wonder who.
Who, who wrote the book of love, chapter one, says to love her.
You love her with all yourheart.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Chapter two you tell
her you never, never, never
never, ever going to part.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
In chapter three,
remember the meaning of romance.
In chapter four, you break upbut you give the death one more
chance.
Oh, I wonder, wonder, who, who, wrote the book of life.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
Welcome back.
It's the Pat's Peeps podcast onValentine's Day.
That's quite the sleeping inSeattle scene that is with Meg
Ryan and Billy Crystal.
That's far different to justlisten to than it is to see,
isn't it?
To see it?
You're kind of you know to hearit.
(24:21):
Wow, wow, wow.
We heard Leon, morgan Nash, lampoon Radio Hour, marvin Gaye
just so many others in there.
Pat's Peeps 210.
So really, in my estimation, inmy opinion, for whatever that's
worth, valentine that's all Ihave really is Valentine's Day.
It's not just about the redheart and the stuffed animal
(24:44):
that are all over the shelves atWalmart or what have you Target
at your grocery store.
Most plentiful benefits ofValentine's Day don't come in
the form of jewelry or rose, bouquets or chocolates or what
have you I mean.
But they're all very nice,right.
But Valentine's Day, what is it?
In my opinion, it's a reminderof the importance of tending to
(25:08):
nurturing relationships,acknowledging sustaining a
relationship, paying attentionto the holiday, and I got that
from my mother.
So, returning to the initialthought of Valentine's Day as a
hallmark holiday, what do I say?
I say I don't care, I don'tmind that, joe Ely, st Valentine
(25:35):
St.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Valentine drove a red
Continental with a headlight
out and a den in the side.
He swore it wasn't his, it wasonly a rental, but he drove it
every single night.
St Valentine wore shades and acowboy hat.
He looked straight out alonesome day.
(25:57):
You never saw his eyes, but youknew down deep inside he was
longing for a long lost love.
The original lover had a brokenheart To the ground.
His blood did flow.
Before every drop had touchedthe earth, a red, red rose did
(26:23):
grow.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
Thank you for
listening to my Pat's Peeps
210th episode.
Greatly appreciate that.
Have a beautiful Valentine'sDay, have a great weekend and a
great President's Day.
We'll see you on Monday for 211.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
St Valentine ate
pizza every Monday night.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Without pineapple,
chased it with Johnny.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
Walker Black.
The waitresses would stare, buthe just didn't care.
He just wanted his lover back.
St Valentine wore a t-shirt ofthe Virgin Madonna, with her
sleeves cut out and a tearthrough the heart.
He wore it like a shield toprotect his pride and honor.
(27:08):
He was tired of living so farapart.
The original lover had a brokenheart To the ground.
His blood did flow.
Before every drop that touchedthe earth, a red, red rose did
(27:28):
grow.
Thank you.
