Loved them all.

But more importantly, thank you.
Rob Schneider starts things offon.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Web Stew.
I was at the 50th anniversaryof Saturday Night Live a couple
weeks ago.
I don't know if you know this, but they're kind of liberal over
there and Robert De Niro wasthere and I know that he hates
Trump.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
And.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
I've been very pro-Trump.
At the end of the show we walkup and I'm behind him and all of
a sudden people push me alittle bit.
I'm directly behind De Niro andhe turns around and I'm like,
no, why, Trump is a schmuck.

(09:16):
He makes you a schmuck,Schneider.
I don't know why you could sayI mean, it's just, I don't get
it.
He's making you a schmuck.
I just kept thinking Robert De.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Niro knows who I am, rob Schneider speaking of De
Niro.
De Niro, like I say, he makes astop at a, at a nursing home.
What a caring, loving guy gothim into a sing-along.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
Robert De Niro, I'm going to do a song and I'm going
to change the lyrics slightly,so I think we'll have a little
fun with that.
It's called well, you've allheard the song Making Whoopie,
so I'm just going to change it alittle.
And when I point to you, you gonot making poopie.
Can we do that?
One, two, three.
Let's try it now Not makingpoopy.
Okay, one more time.

(10:09):
Come on, you guys, it's notlike you need a little coke or
something to get you going.

Speaker 6 (10:18):
One more time.

Speaker 5 (10:19):
One, two, three, not making poopy.
Yeah, okay, great, here we go.
Here it goes, maestro.
Another fear, another year, another fear, another ear,
another animal in your rear, elimination, constipation, not

(10:44):
making poopy.
Yeah, pp is fine, except if itleaks.
What'd you expect from elderlyfreaks?

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Ah, De Niro's disrespectful.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
Poopy not poopy Ugh.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
We're doing poopy here.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
I am not All right.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
Uh-oh, we've got a killjoy in the house.
Okay, you're on the toilet.
Remind the files.
Holy shit, it's good to bealive.
It's all a breeze now, butplease don't sneeze now.

(11:26):
You're making poopy Big.
Finish Not being loopy.
Better than whoopee Everybody.
Now I'm making poopy.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Ah yes, Disrespect provided by De Niro, Louis
Friedman, Chris Lohr.
National Lampoon Radio Hour isalso coming up.
By the way you know, RobSchneider was talking about
Saturday Night Live here onPat's Peeps, number 301.
Dave Chappelle had a littlesomething to say about Saturday

(12:05):
Night Live as well.
After Trump was elected thefirst time around the first time
was a Saturday.

Speaker 9 (12:12):
After the Tuesday he was elected and, man, when they
called Donald Trump the winner, that shut the writer's room down
.

Speaker 7 (12:22):
You should have seen them in there, the first one or
the second?
The first one, boy, they wascrying like black people.

Speaker 9 (12:29):
That's a kid.
They was crying like blackpeople.
That's good, they're not likeblack people, but you know what
I mean.
They couldn't believe that thiswas happening.
I knew it the whole time.
Yeah, I did because you live inTexas and I live in Ohio but in
30 Rock it looked like.
Hillary.

Speaker 8 (12:43):
Clinton was going to win.

Speaker 9 (12:44):
I don't know.
I don't know what looksdifferent from those windows.

Speaker 6 (12:51):
Gosh, nancy, I'm so worried about Timmy.
What's the matter, sue?
He's just so tired all the timehe gets headaches after meals,
and last week he started playingwith dolls.
Gee, sue, sounds like Timmy'sgot gender dysphoria.
Gender dysphoria what's that?
It's a crisis of sexualidentity brought on by a complex
interaction of social andbiological forces.

(13:12):
What should I do?
Throw him out of the house.
Let him live in the streetswith the rest of the trash.
But he's only eight years old.
Better late than never.
Think about it, sue.
Nothing ruins breakfast like afreakish hulking shemale.
Gosh, you're right, I'll gohome and throw him out this
afternoon.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
You know people swear by the unusual, solid, snake
conversation to trend to conquersocial media here on Pat's
Peeps 301.
There is an art to being a goodlistener.
I can tell you that for a fact.
As a talk show host, I tellpeople all the time with
aspirations who want to be atalk show host I just I think

(13:49):
that was redundant aspirations.
Who want to be a talk show host.
I just I think that wasredundant aspirations and want
to be.
But it is almost more importantto listen as a talk show host
than it is to speak.
There is an art to it Becausehere's why it shows.
It demonstrates to the personwho is speaking to you that you

(14:13):
are listening and that you careAsking questions.
It is a great way to keep theconversation going.
It's a great way to let youryou know the person you're
having a conversation with knowthat you care and are engaged
with what they're talking about.
That's why I always use a pen.
That's why I always take noteswhen I'm having a conversation.

(14:33):
You don't want to have justquestions and you're talking,
then they finish their answerand then you go to your next
question.
See, this is just my opinion asa person that does this every
day.
That is an interview is just myopinion as a person that does
this every day.
That is an interview.
Now, to me there is a subtledifference between an interview

(14:55):
and a conversation, which iswhat I try to have with people.
It's a conversation, aninterview.
You ask, they answer.
Conversation.
You ask, you throw somethingout there.
They answer.
They respond as they'reresponding.
You take your pen and you jotdown notes.
What did they just say?
I didn't expect them to saythat.
Okay, let me ask about that.

(15:16):
So if they go off on a littletangent or they say something
that is of interest, you'vemarked that down.
You can go back and ask that, but let them finish their
thoughts too.
A lot of times, people are sowant to get in their point that
they want to interrupt theperson who's making the there's
telling the story or relatingthe story or whatever they're

(15:36):
saying.
You're interrupting thembecause you're so anxious to
interrupt them.
And here's another thing too, while I'm thinking about it I
know people like this and again, this is just my opinion, for
whatever it's worth, as I'mthinking about the listening
part, it's unfortunate sometimes.
I know people like you willtell them, or someone will tell

(15:57):
a story.
Like you're sitting there,maybe there's a few of you
Someone tells a story.
They're relating something toyou about their life.
It's important to them enoughto at least tell you about it.
They think you might want toknow, or that's interesting,
what have you, when they're donetelling you the story that they
thought was interesting enoughto bring up to you.
It is my feeling that you shouldreact to their story, not with

(16:22):
a story about you necessarily, unless it somehow organically
just kind of goes that way.
I'm not saying 100% of the time, it somehow organically just
kind of goes that way.
I'm not saying a hundredpercent of the time, but too
many times I feel like theperson listening, some people
they don't respond to the storythey just heard by saying, oh,
wow, really, so what happenedthen?
Or you know, gee, how did thatgo, how did that end up?

(16:43):
Or you must've felt this way.
You know, whatever it is toengage on their story before you
get to now your story that canrelate to their story.
So many people, when the personis done telling they'll go.
Well, I one time did this.
Well, you didn't respond towhat they said.
It's a technique and it worksvery well in a conversation.

(17:04):
I always try to keep that inmind.
For those, by the way, who aresocially anxious, maybe shy, you
just can't think of anything tosay because it's a lot harder
than it seems right.
Especially you're meeting newpeople, it can be very awkward.
So they're saying you need touse the they.
I don't know who is thisCulture, I don't know what is

(17:25):
this Upworthycom?
Never heard of that.
They say use the solid snakeconversation to conquer this
fear.
I'm like what is the solidsnake conversation method Taking
the world by storm?
They say Part of a trend, partof a meme, 100% effective.
You don't need to know anythingabout video games.
Blah, blah, blah.
I don't want to get into any ofthat.

(17:46):
I don't care about video games.
Apparently it stems somewherefrom become a bit of a joke in
the gaming world that Snake, aman of a few words, tends to
fall back on one particularconversational technique over
and over, which is repeating orechoing bits of what the other
characters say.
In other words, apparently itadds emphasis, makes it

(18:11):
important.
It adds emphasis to importantpoints, creates good
conversational pacing Accordingto them, not according to me.
It allows the plot, thedialogue, to continue on
smoothly.
So, in other words, they givean example.
Here's an example, quote.

(18:33):
These are all quotes, snake,we've got to get to the
blueprints.
And then the next would be thereply, the blueprints.
Yes, the bad guys areconstructing a devastating bomb,
a bomb, indeed.
You'll find the prototype inthat bunker over there.
A bunker, you get the idearight.

(18:57):
How annoying would that be?
I mean, how annoying would thatbe in a conversation.
Everything you say they repeatA nuclear weapon Question,
uh-huh, approach, launch Allright DIA Nano machines.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Pal Remains Cell specimens.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
Rick Astley.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
Strengthened Gene therapy.
One of the greatest soldiersever, the sons of Big Boss.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Can you imagine talking like that?
Hmm, you're having aconversation.
Can you imagine me I'm doing myinterview on the air?
Yeah, pat, and we built thefort in 19.
The fort was built in 1846.
In 1846?
Like, where do they go fromthere?
Uh, yeah, uh, in 1846.

(19:47):
I don't suggest this.
You know it's okay at times, because we all do it, whether we
know it or not.
We do it, people do.
A variation of this, written anddeveloped in Japan by a team
led by legendary developer HideoKojima, though translated into
English and created in part foran American audience, the games

(20:08):
feature a lot of bits and piecesof Japanese culture, is what
they're saying?
He includes interjecting withwords or phrases or the
equivalents, like oh, I get it.
So this is what we do, yeah, really.
Or even repeating back theoriginal speaker's words, a la
Solid Snake.

(20:29):
Maybe I'll try that on my showtonight.
If you call up, we'll see howannoying that is.
According to Nico Smith, edFluent, you and who, of course,
they know, quote perhaps youalready used some of the
interjections in conversationWhile your friend is telling you
a story.
You might not a few times, but, though in a surprise, no way.

(20:52):
What happened next Works in asimilar way, but it's more
relentless.
As the listener in aconversation, you might find
yourself doing just as muchtalking as the speaker.
It could be a sign of interestand engagement.
If you have nothing else to sayLike what else are you going to
say you just say, oh, yeah, yeah, that's very interesting.

(21:15):
Azuki doesn't require thelistener to be particularly
brilliant in conversation,charismatic or creative.
Even socially awkward people oranyone who clams up, he says,
in social situations can mustera few comebacks.
Something to think about.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Hey, rock and roll doctor, you're on the air.
Yeah, hello, yeah.
Turn your radio down, please.
You want to turn your radiodown, please, sir?
What?
Turn your radio down?
Oh yeah, yeah, right, okay, that's better.
You have a question, sir?

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Yeah, I'm going to the Nugent concert, kind of
figured.
I'm taking some pot and someacid and I'm going to be taking
some Coke and I'm going to betaking a couple of quarts of rum
.
I was wondering if there'sanything else that I should take
.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Yeah, an Rock and roll doctor, you're on the air.

Speaker 8 (22:04):
Um rock and roll doctor Mm-hmm.
Um, like, I had these um pillsand I took them, I think, and um
Like, do you know what theywere, man?

Speaker 3 (22:17):
No, no, no, I don't.

Speaker 8 (22:18):
Oh, wow.
Well, I was just wondering, like, who is this?

Speaker 3 (22:23):
This is the rock and roll doctor.
Why don't you lie down for acouple days?
Do us both a favor.
You'll feel a whole lot better.
People, when you call in, tryto have a question in mind.
Okay, it just makes the showmove a whole lot faster.
Rock and Roll Doctor, you're onthe air.
Yeah, you had a call.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
a moment ago it sounded like that lousy punk
that if I clogged all clobberingupset.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
Well, you're damn right, I'm upset.
I think I got good reason to beupset.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
Okay, well, you're on your way to a heart attack, sir
.
And also, at the very least, Isuggest you take a couple of
Valium and relax.
I don't have any Valium.
Okay, well, just stay on theline, I'll get your name and
I'll send you a prescription.
Okay, yeah, hey, thanks, okay,no problem.
Hello, goodbye, rock and roll, doctor, you're on the air.
This is Detective Johnson ofthe Drug Enforcement Agency.

(23:08):
Doctor, perhaps you'd like?
Ok, that's just about all thetime we have for calls.

Speaker 7 (23:15):
Right now we're going to break.
Take a word from our sponsor.
Well, this is St Anne ShrineRoad, east of Lake Wells, out in
the country Beautiful area.
So what does this guy that haspeanut butter for brains do?
He's wandering around inpeople's yards and looking
around to see what he can steal.
He's Josh Ware, he's 33.

(23:36):
He's from Lake Wells.
So this lady confronts himabout being on her property.
Does he just leave?
Oh no, he gets confrontational, wants to dog cuss and do all
that sort of stuff.
That ain't nice.
And as a result of that, shecalled the sheriff's office.

(23:57):
Well, he went next door and hemeandered around a while.
Then he stole a golf cart.
That just wasn't real nice todo.
But our nice deputies found him.
We charged him with armedburglary, grand theft,
trespassing.
And oh, did I tell you that hehad also collected US mail from

(24:20):
people's boxes out by the road?
No, he wasn't delivering it totheir house to help them out, he
was taking it.
So we've got him for fourdifferent counts of taking mail
from mailboxes.
Huh.

Speaker 6 (24:48):
There's a loser in the flesh right there.
Have a good day, drink a littlebeer and drink a little scotch
Turn around and kick yourneighbor in the crotch.

Speaker 5 (24:57):
