Now, today we're tackling animportant topic.
Don't do this when planningyour Disney trip.
Now, disney is an excitingdestination, but planning the
perfect trip can get tricky ifyou're not careful.
So in today's episode, we'regoing to cover four things

(01:29):
you'll definitely don't want todo when planning your magical
vacation.
So let's get started.
So, number one, let's kick itoff here with one of the most
common mistakes, and that isscheduling the day to the minute
.
As tempting as it might be toplan every second of your Disney
day, overscheduling it canquickly turn your vacation into
a stressful experience.
I've seen it happen.

(01:50):
I've seen it happen in person, and I know a lot of guests try
to cram in as much stuff as theypossibly can, plan out every
ride, meal, show, basically downto the exact minute.
And here's the thing Disneydays are unpredictable.
So why is this a mistake?
Disney is massive and no matterhow much you plan, things won't

(02:11):
always go according to schedule.
Attractions may have unexpecteddelays, kids might need a break
, weather could throw off yourtiming.
Overscheduling can lead tofrustration, and I have seen
this firsthand of where familieshave started to really show
their frustration because noteverything is going according to
frustration.
And I have seen this firsthandof where families have started
to really show their frustrationbecause not everything is going
according to plan.
What should you do instead?
It's important to have ageneral itinerary right.

(02:33):
So, whether you're using yourmy Disney Experience app or
whatnot, but plan out those keyexperiences like dining,
reservations and the must-dorides, but also give yourself
some time to explore, relax andadapt to the changes throughout
the day.
Focus on creating a plan thatgives you some flexibility
instead of a rigid one.
A relaxed pace is a much moreenjoyable way to experience

(02:55):
Disney.
Trust me on that one.
Give yourself some time, reallytake in everything you can,
because there is so much to dowhen you are visiting Disney
World.
So topic number two on this oneis being a part of too many
Facebook groups.
And it's good to be a part ofFacebook groups, but to be a
part of the wrong ones.

(03:15):
While I know it's tempting tojoin every single Disney related
group on Facebook, it can getoverwhelming and, even worse,
you could get misinformed.
So why is this a mistake?
There are so many facebookgroups out there with differing
opinions and sometimes theinformation shared isn't the
most reliable, and also thosegroups can be filled with
negativity.

(03:36):
Uh, they can talk about stressabout crowds, provide
conflicting advice or just beupright rude.
I've seen so many newbies goingon to these different Facebook
groups that I'm a part of or Ishould say I was a part of and
they just get annihilated forasking a simple question.
Be careful.
Make sure when you're joiningthose groups you find a reliable

(03:59):
, helpful group where you'reseeing a lot of positive
feedback.
So maybe before you share someof the information or ask
questions on that group, youkind of watch what people are
posting on there.
Also, verify that theinformation is accurate.
Go to Disneycom orDisneyWorldcom.
Double check the information.
If you see something on therethat someone's saying is one way

(04:19):
, but the Disney website saysit's another way, they're
probably not giving you thecorrect information.
Also, look for groups where youcan ask the questions and also
get advice from experiencedtravelers.
So you don't want to join anewbie group that's only for
newbies, because everyone'sprobably going to have the same
question.
So you want to find a group ofexperienced travelers, but again
, people that are going to bevery appreciative of the fact

(04:42):
that you're asking a questionand not be condescending with
their answers.
So on to topic number three, andthat is treating your Disney
vacation like a marathon insteadof an experience.
Now, disney parks can seem likethey have an endless amount of
things to do and it's reallyeasy to feel the pressure of I
got to do it all.
But if you treat your vacationlike a race, you're going to

(05:03):
miss out on the true essence ofthe experience.
And remember, the keyword hereis it's supposed to be a
vacation.
If you go through and you'regetting stressed out the entire
time and you are just constantlygoing, going, going.
Part of a vacation is to unplug, relax and to enjoy the time.
So biggest mistake I see ispeople trying to fit in too much
and it kind of ties into topicone.

(05:24):
Right, but if you're constantlygo, go, going, you're going to
miss out on a lot of things.
So if you push yourself andyour family too hard, you're
going to end up exhausted, stressed and maybe even
frustrated by the end of thetrip.
And Disney is about enjoying themagic, taking in the sights,
sharing special moments and notrunning around from one ride to

(05:45):
the next with zero time to restor to miss see some of the great
shows that are around too.
They have so many differentinteractions that happen
throughout the park that ifyou're just looking from the
night one ride to the next ride, you can do that out of six
flags or whatever else.
Right.
Take in the disney experiencealso.
I highly recommend focusing onquality over quantity.

(06:06):
So instead of trying to fit inevery ride, show and dining
experience, prioritize the onesthat will make the most memories
for you and your family, orwhoever you're there, with right
Schedule downtime, especiallyduring peak heat times.
Take breaks, go through thestores, enjoy the parades.
Another thing that I love to dois give myself a break during

(06:28):
the day.
My family night.
We will start a park in themorning.
We'll grab some lunch orsomething, we'll go back to our
room, we'll go to the pool for acouple hours, give us some time
to relax, cool down, whateverelse, and then we go to the park
at night to watch the fireworksor to see the show, or to make
some more lightning lanereservations.
Give yourself some time torelax and enjoy the vacation.

(06:51):
So again, do not treat yourvacation like a marathon.
Definitely treat it more as anexperience.
My next topic and it probablywon't surprise you, but it's
really don't book a trip withouta travel agent.
And the reason why I say thisand it's not just because I'm a
travel agent, but I used travelagents in the past, which got us
to the point of where we aretoday Using a travel agent.

(07:12):
Some people might think I canjust book everything online, but
here's the thing If you book atrip without a Disney travel
agent, you're going topotentially miss out on things.
Plus, we take on a lot of thatburden for you.
Now, remember this too, and I'mgoing to break a little secret
to you Whether you spend let'sjust call it $5,000 booking your
Disney vacation throughDisneyWorldcom versus booking it

(07:37):
through us, the price is thesame versus booking it through
us, the price is the same.
The only difference is you'resupporting small business by
working with a travel agent, because Disney doesn't provide
you that much support and thesupport that you get, you have
to call and you have to handleit all yourself, versus a travel
agent.
Disney pays us a percentage,right?
So we get a commission off ofthat $5,000.

(07:57):
That supports our smallbusiness but also supports our
expertise that we provide forour customers, right so we call
on behalf of our customers allthe time.
I have a direct line to thecustomer service number, so
instead of you waiting onlinefor three hours, have me do it
instead, or another travel agentdo it instead.

(08:18):
Plus, disney vacations areexpensive and costly.
You're investing so much money.
You want to get the bestexperience possible, so work
with a travel agent that canhelp you maximize your budget,
find the best deals.
But also, if you think of, likemy wife and I, or my family and
I should say, we go down once amonth.
We're from Minnesota, we flydown to Orlando literally once a

(08:39):
month to stay up to date oneverything that is Disney.
And and that goes to my nextreasoning here Disney is always
changing.
Rides are added, they're beingupdated or closed for
refurbishments.
A travel agent is not just goingto book your hotel and park
tickets.
Like I said, we're going tohelp you maximize your time.
Uh, get you the right diningreservations, help you navigate

(09:01):
that lightning lane setup, butalso to linking your my Disney
Experience app to be able tomanage all of the people on your
list there getting magic bands.
You name it.
We help you out.
So when it comes to planningyour trip, don't hesitate to
work with a travel agent.
Do not schedule your trip tothe minute.
Give yourself a break.

(09:23):
Make sure that you enjoy someof the free time that is
available.
Don't join too many Facebookgroups or, even better, the
wrong Facebook groups and don'ttreat it like a marathon.
Treat it like an experience.
Once again, if you do want helpplanning your next Disney
vacation, visit usmagicvacationfamilycom, and my
wife Renee and I look forward tohelping you soon.
Until then, I will see you atepisode number nine.
