(00:40):
Not my day.
Not my day.
Every once in a while, these these days happen.
And, not sure really why they unfold the waythey do, but today was not my day.

(01:04):
I I had thirty five minutes of audio recorded.
It's a full episode, actually.
Recorded earlier today.
But I'm just gonna go ahead and sit on that oneand and and let it simmer.
It's I'm in one of those mindsets.

(01:26):
Guys, welcome back.
Welcome back, first and foremost.
Welcome back to the Purdue and podcast.
I am still Keaton Turner for better or forworse.
It's one of those days where the mindset justdoesn't come as easy for me as as what I make

(01:47):
it seem on the on the podcast or in in what Iwhat I preach about on social media, whatever.
Some days, the mindset's just not there.
Some days, it's everything's a battle.
It's from the moment your feet hit the floor togrind.

(02:08):
Sometimes, you just know it's gonna be one ofthose days.
I didn't I didn't quite feel that way when Igot started today.
But as as some days do, they just kinda theyhappen to you.
It's the day before my kids go back to school.

(02:29):
My my youngest daughter I know this is boringfor a lot of people, but this is what's
happened in my life, and you're the one thatturned on the podcast to listen to this.
So it's what you get.
My youngest daughter is is going into full timeschool, and and that's something that my wife
is now kind of dealing with.

(02:52):
The first time she will be completely homewithout any kids at home during the day.
So that's, you know, navigating that a littlebit.
When I have these days where my mindset's bad, usually usually bedtime can can make it even

(03:17):
worse.
Right?
It's like, okay.
Can we get the teeth brushed?
Let's get, you know, get dinner done, get theteeth brushed.
Let's just get to bed.
Just get the kids in bed so that I can sit downand just breathe for a second.
I'll I'll sit on the couch, just look at theceiling.
But tonight was a little different.
My wife, know, read the kids a book before bed,and it was, I don't know, it was a book about,

(03:45):
you know, going to kindergarten, which is a bigdeal.
And I was just laying there with my five yearold, and I was like, man, well, this is this is
the moment.

(04:26):
So, anyway, I am I'm telling myself what Ialways tell myself on these these tough days,
and that is what what do I tell myself?
That's a good question, actually.

(04:46):
No.
I I try to remind myself of a bigger purpose.
It's funny it's funny when you add up your baddays, even the worst parts, you know?
And the worst days where you lose a bunch ofmoney or you have to fire some or someone quits
or you get in a fight with your friend, or youget in a fight with your wife or girlfriend,

(05:10):
whatever.
Like, you get fired from a customer.
If you really put it into perspective of thegrand scheme of the whole game, the whole
journey, it's not that big of a deal.
It's really not.
Life goes on.

(05:32):
The sun sets.
It comes back up again tomorrow.
You get another chance at it.
You get to do it again.
You know, if you weren't a great leader today, you get another try tomorrow.
If you made a bad decision today, you get tomake another bad decision, hopefully hopefully
a good decision, but you get to make anotherdecision tomorrow.

(05:52):
In the grand scheme of it all, I I try to thisis so hard to do in the heat of the moment.
I try to take a few deep breaths, have a littlebit of quiet time, and remind myself it's not
that big of a deal.
We have another day.

(06:15):
And when you put it all into perspective, especially how short life is and how many
people don't get another day or how many peopledon't get to take the same swings you do in
life or in business, or who don't have a familyor a wife, who don't have the friends that you
have, when you put it all into perspective, you're like, You know what?

(06:37):
I've actually got it pretty good.
I don't know why I feel so down on myself.
I don't know why I feel so bad about mysituation.
When I add it all up, I've actually got itpretty good.
And and you yeah.
If you have this conversation with yourselflong enough, you start to kind of talk yourself

(06:58):
out of the bad mood, or at least I do, notalways.
This is, know, sometimes I just need to sleepon it and like, you know, tell my wife, hey,
one of those days, she could tell today when Iwhen she got in the door.
But if but if I really get quiet long enough,I'm like, you know what?

(07:19):
Why am I worried about that thing?
It's not that big of a deal.
I I I have it a lot better than a lot ofpeople, and and I'm not dealing with some sort
of life altering or life ending thing.
I've, you know, I've actually got it prettygood.
It's hard.
This is a hard one.
I don't have any, like, profound podcastknowledge today.

(07:44):
Excuse me.
I don't have any big business stories, But I amhuman, and I'll tell you that the buffet of
ball kickings, every once in while, just makesyour stomach hurt.
When you belly up to the buffet time after timeafter time, sometimes you just get to the point

(08:06):
where you're like, you know what?
I think I've had enough ball kickings.
And then crazily enough is that a word, crazily?
Ironically enough, I wake up, and I'm ready tobelly back up to the buffet of ball cake.
I'm ready for another plate.
It's weird how it works.

(08:26):
I get done with the end the day, and I sitdown.
I'm like, man, I'm over it.
I am full blown over it.
I don't wanna talk about it.
I don't wanna hear about it.
I don't wanna open my laptop.
I don't wanna open my cell phone.
I don't wanna respond to the message.
I got three or four phone calls I should becalling people back.
I don't even want to make the phone calls.

(08:47):
I'm over it.
And I'll wake up tomorrow, and it'll be a newday, and we'll be ready to fight again.
But this is this is it.
This is this is the beauty of doing a podcastevery day.
When you do them, you know, a hundred days in arow or eighty days in a however many days in a

(09:07):
row we are now on season two, I'm gonna havetwo or three days out of a 100 that are just
bad days.
And usually, my bad days usually, it startswith something in business.
Right?
We we didn't do something right.
Somebody did something stupid.

(09:28):
We missed a financial goal.
A customer's upset about something.
I've gotta deal with drama or BS internally, internal politics.
Like, usually it starts there.
I get a little frustrated.
Then I'll get a couple phone calls or personalcalls or Shelby will say something or send me
16 text messages, and then it just kindacompounds.

(09:51):
Compounding I think it was Einstein said thatcompounding was the eighth wonder of the world.
I think he said compounding interest.
But when things compound, it it's crazy howquickly the day can just, before you know it,
unravel.
You're like, woah, wait a second.
What am I actually mad about?
I I don't really know.

(10:13):
My worst days are when I get to the end of theday.
I sit down.
I look at the ceiling, and I don't even knowwhat I'm mad about.
You ever have that?
Am I alone in this?
You literally end your day, and like, you thinkin your mind, Oh, I'm upset about x, y, z.

(10:35):
But when you stop and play it all out, you'relike, What am I mad about?
Can I verbalize it?
Can I say what didn't go right?
Can I say what I'm it's it's a tough one?
It's a tough one for me.
I'm gonna go do that.
I'm gonna go try to figure out what I'm upsetabout.

(10:58):
I because I don't know.
I think it was just a a series of events todaythat compounded.
None of them are spicy or juicy enough that Iget to share them with you, and you guys can
like, you know, find joy or entertainment inthem.
Because they're all little things, which tellsme at the end of the day, if they're all little
things that have got me feeling this way, it'sprobably a me problem.

(11:18):
It's probably not all those little things.
It's probably not the business.
It's probably not the wife.
It's probably not the random text messages orphone calls I get.
It's probably me.
It's probably something I am doing or not doingto get my mindset right, and and I gotta go
figure that out.

(11:39):
So maybe tomorrow, I'll have some newfoundwisdom for you.
I I think when I do a 100 of these in a row,I'm gonna have two or three days where you get
this ten minute monologue from me that makes nosense, and and you're gonna turn this episode
off.
You're like, what in the world's wrong withthat guy today?

(11:59):
But but this is the beauty of this is thebeauty of it.
You're gonna get two or three days of this, andand I almost didn't record this one.
I I I told you, I recorded thirty five minutesof an episode before this.
I don't don't wanna release that yet.

(12:20):
But but I almost didn't record this one, andand I said, you know what?
That's not staying true to what I'm trying todo with this whole transparency thing.
So that's what I got.
I don't know if any of guys can relate to that.
As always, man, I know I owe you guys some moremugs.

(12:41):
Some of you guys have paid.
I haven't shipped them yet.
Some of you guys have been waiting patiently.
I appreciate that they're coming.
Some of you guys that have sent messages to thehotline, I know I've slacked on that.
Some of, I think some of what I'm feeling todayis just a little bit of being overwhelmed,
trying to wrap it all up here at the end of thesummer.

(13:01):
But but I appreciate you listening to thisramble of a monologue.
Tomorrow, we will build back better.
We will come back stronger than ever.
We will rise like a phoenix out of the ashesand fight another day.
Hopefully, I've got something a little juicierfor you, little more inspirational, a little
more entertaining, a little more motivational,a little more educational.

(13:25):
This one's kind of a throwaway episode.
So that's my that's my ten, twelve, thirteenminutes of what's happening in my life.
Appreciate you listening.
If you can, if you're into this sort of thing, send a prayer up for me.
I will take as many prayers as I can getalways, but especially on my bad days.
So thank you guys for listening.
I pray you're killing it.
Pray you're getting your per diem, and I praywe can muster up the courage to do it one more

(13:52):
day tomorrow.
