This week I’m joined by Olympic Champion rower Ben Hunt-Davis MBE, who experienced the highs and the lows of achieving greatness for his country in his 20’s.
But has that fulfilment been everything he thought it would be?
We start off by delving into Ben's journey into the National Rowing team, exploring the challenges he faced, and how he overcame them.
We then fast forward to the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, where Ben underperformed and struggled with self-doubt.
Despite being treated like losers by coaches and other boats in the GB squad, Ben and his teammates didn't let that diminish their motivation to succeed.
We discuss the inspiration that led them to make a change in their performance, which involved a simple question that they asked themselves before every action:
Will It Make The Boat GO Faster?
We also explore the courage it takes to change a regime and the balance between sacrifice, drive, and being present in the moment. And we get a firsthand account of the day Ben won the gold medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, along with the emotions that still resonate with him to this day.
Lastly, we delve into the concept of successful goal-setting and the importance of taking risks. Ben shares his insights on how to overcome the fear of failure and judgment, evaluating which decisions to make, and what ingredients are necessary for success.
So, join us for this fascinating conversation with Ben that will inspire you to reach for your own greatness, take risks, and strive for success in all aspects of your life.

Are You A Charlotte?
In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
